Like the place & services. People were nice & helpful. We were there for 5 days, not even a single day air condition was working. There was no power to that resort. With the generator fan was working and light 3rd night I had to borrow the reception fan. 1 night there were no power and water. Husband got sick because of heat I got heat hashes, we had to sleep on the floor. It was miserable! After talking to other coupe who got there before us found out they were having the same issues. Some people checked out in 2 days. All they were saying it will work soon they are working on it.. there were no fan in the restaurants as well. The night power went off we had to use the flash light to eat. Last 2 days was raining we were able to stay back bed room closet and restaurant celling were leaking. It was very expensive resort but not sure if 5 star. They have only 2 restaurants all together. Healthy good food but very less options in the menu which was included. There were more options but you have to pay. It’s not like other resorts lots off food and buffet. No burritos, shrimp tacos. Sea foods.

Desperately Requiring Renovations
The Blue Diamond Resort, once a symbol of ultra-luxury under Mandarin Oriental’s management, has seen a sharp and disappointing decline since its takeover by Blue Bay in 2011. While it was once a premier destination for couples seeking a lavish jungle retreat, the property now falls far short of its 5-star reputation. Guests are confronted with pervasive safety and maintenance issues, including faulty lighting and electrical systems, persistent water leaks, malfunctioning air conditioning, worn-out door hardware, and outdated plumbing fixtures to list a few.
The resort is in desperate need of major renovations, yet there is no evidence of meaningful action being taken by its owners or management. Apologies in response to guest reviews are frequent, but tangible improvements remain absent. This neglect has left the property feeling neglected and far from the luxury experience it promises.
It’s clear that management has no respect for client feedback, as repeated observations, complaints, and reviews from guests are ignored, and no meaningful repairs or improvements have been undertaken. This property is far from a 5-star experience.
The situation becomes even more baffling when you read overly positive reviews that seem to paint a completely different picture of the resort. It forces you to question their authenticity: are we even talking about the same place? Avoid the Blue Diamond Resort at all costs. Your safety, comfort, and hard-earned money deserve far better than the neglect and disrespect this property offers.
With numerous newer and truly luxurious 5-star resorts available at more competitive prices, travelers are strongly advised to avoid Blue Diamond Resort. Don’t waste your time or money on a property that fails to deliver on its claims of quality and comfort.

This resort is very special because of the people who work here. We have spent almost a week here and every person we were in contact with was just exceptionally friendly. We instantly felt at home. The whole resort is kept extremely tidy and the gardens are stunning. We can only recommend it to anyone who wants to treat him/herself to an extraordinary vacation. We will be back for sure. Our heartfelt thanks go to all the people working in the restaurants and our amazing drivers.

Room: PRO beautiful view, very spacious and very clean! CON no lights on the stairs or in the pool so makes it hard to enjoy at night. Has air conditioning but doesn’t get really cold…maybe ceiling fans would be a great addition.
Service: PRO amazing spa, food good but limited golf carts and bicycles are a welcomed convenience. CON butler service not as good as other locations we’ve stayed, unable to have drinks delivered and room service has a fee per delivery.
Location: absolutely stunning views but no way to get away from the seaweed. Beach had substantial erosion but the resort did a great job trying to make it a comfortable experience and you are able to get in the water without seaweed in your way. It is truly a jungle beach oasis

The staff and food are amazing. The property itself is starting to show its age, unfortunately, and needs refurbishment. While it is a luxury resort, most luxury food items are an upcharge to the regular choices (and usually cost what it would at any restaurant). The activities the resort offers are fun, and reflective of a quiet resort experience.
