This hotel is not exactly what we expected! We chose it based on the beautiful pictures on the Air Canada vacation website and all the Instagram posts. Unfortunately, it doesn't quite live up to its 5-star rating and doesn’t worth the money we paid !
Everything seems run-down, the beach isn't good for swimming, and they don't clean up the seaweed like other nearby hotels do. We had to take a 3 km walk to find a good spot to swim, and the swimming pools don't even have pumps - they manually add chlorine in the morning. The smell isn't the greatest in the whole resort and there aren't any showers on the beach or by the pools. Some parts of the hotel on the beach seem to be falling apart, but no one seems to be doing anything about it. On the bright side, the room was nice, the staff were wonderful, and the food was delicious. However, the resort could definitely use some renovations and it's not quite up to 5-star standards. Don't be fooled by the pictures or videos online - they're all sponsored content.

My stay in this place has been very pleasant, we arrived a day before the hurricane and the hotel acted with very good protocols and above all at all times they were clear and attentive. We feel safe. We realized that in a couple of days everything was working normally again. We appreciate all the attention and kindness, the hotel is luxurious, the food very delicious and we loved the room, everything is wrapped in a nature that relaxes you. My partner and I had a wonderful time.

Lots of things to say. Overall great resort with fantastic service.
Make sure to know what season you are going in. Went in the storm season and the beach as well as the rooms near the beach were unavailable cause of a recent storm. The replacement room was a downgrade, but they were able to process a refund for the difference. Room was still nice. Stormed for a couple of days which created some nice inside days that the room was good enough for.
Be sure to use the bug spray offered in your room when going outside. There is a lot of greenery and the grounds are well kept. But all the trees means lots of bugs and you will need the spray to keep them off of you.
There are 3 restaurants on the property, but really 1 main one. Depending on the dinner menu it is hit or miss. Room service ended up being the most safe option.
Plan your activities as close to arrival as possible. It is a relaxing resort but some of the activities need 24 hour notice to sign up.
Was able to do the tequila tasting class with David which was amazing for an extra $35 per person.
Also the bead making class was a really nice was to relaxing after lunch and the girls running the class were really good and patient.
Overall, would definitely good back in a different season to relax and get away for a little while.

The nature that surrounds this hotel is wonderful, you lock yourself in a different world, away from civilization without having all the comforts. I have enjoyed every day I spent here, the animals you see uncommon and native to here, the incredible ocean view. The fabulous food and spa certainly envelops you in next-level relaxation.

Pros: The food at the restaurants and service were amazing! We had a great time. We stayed in the beach Casita so we were right on the beach which was beautiful. All the staff were amazing. It is peaceful, relaxing and serene. Not crowded at all like the other resorts.
Cons: Rooms had quite a bit of wear and tear so I do think it needs a refresh. The bed was really hard for me and room service food wasn't really good except breakfast. We didn't get a tour or information sheet when we arrived so we didn't no that we were charged a delivery fee every time we ordered room service. I'm not used to having a delivery fee charge for an all inclusive resort. Also because we had the beachfront casita we were supposed to have a Butler everyday but some days we did not have one and we just had to utilize the concierge that was taking care of everybody else in the resort which sometimes caused a delay.
Though it was great I don't know if I will come back. Maybe if we see that the rooms are renovated and updated then we may visit it again.
