This was our second visit to the Blue Bay Resort, and it felt like coming home. From the moment we arrived, the kindness and genuine warmth of the staff and management surrounded us like sunshine. Every little attention, from their friendly smile, thoughtful gestures, the special “welcome back”... it all made us feel truly special and cared for. The all-inclusive buffet is simply great, with a wide selection of delicious dishes that cater to every taste. Whether it’s breakfast overlooking the sea from the terrace or a late evening meal, the quality is very good. Though one small point of criticism, it seems to us that the variety seems to be a bit less compared to last year with more of the same dishes returning every lunch and dinner. Yet, there's still more than enough to satisfy everyone. We also loved the activities available which were perfectly balanced between relaxation and fun, giving us the chance to enjoy the beauty of Crete while feeling completely at ease. What makes Blue Bay Resort truly stand out, though, is its heart. You can tell that everyone working here genuinely wants you to have a wonderful stay. It’s rare to find that combination of professionalism and heartfelt hospitality. We left already dreaming of our next visit. Highly recommended!

This is a lovely hotel but I wouldn't class it as a 4 star hotel. It is in a beautiful location, stunning views and a quaint little beach in a bay with lots of water activities. The staff at the hotel are fabulous, friendly and happy to help. The outside area is small but well kept and lovely to sit around. There's a bus to and from Heraklion. The entertainment was fun and different each night. It's a great little place. My sister and I had a fabulous time. The downsides to this hotel, which in my mind would make is a 3 star hotel. It doesn't replenish your bottled water each day in your room and there's no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. We kept buying water but the fridge didn't work so we couldn't keep anything cool. There was also no little extra toiletries in the bathroom. There was a soap dispenser in the shower but no shampoo/conditioner, flannels, etc. The food, there's lots of beef and pork dishes, occasionally chicken, plenty of vegetarian dishes, great salad variety, but the hot food is so salty! It's a shame because there was so much to choose from but the flavours were overwhelmed by salt. Don't expect great quality, fancy cocktails either. But the beer is really good.

I had an amazing stay at the Blue Bay Resort! The hotel is absolutely beautiful – everything is perfect, from the elegant design to the friendly and professional staff. The atmosphere is relaxing and luxurious at the same time. The view from my room was simply breathtaking – waking up to the stunning sea view every morning was unforgettable. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a dream vacation.

We stayed for one week at the Blue Bay Hotel and had a relaxing time. The facilities were nice but not particularly special - on the third day we found a quieter pool by the hotel's second building up the road, which was less crowded and more relaxing. I'd recommend for those looking to relax. We stayed all inclusive and the food was nice, if a little repetitive at times. There weren't many meat options, normally pork or liver (not much chicken in particular). The rooms are well furnished and comfortable. There was a bit of noise in the corridors, particularly late evening when the bars closed. Note that the location of this hotel is quite far from any local amenities - there are some small souvenir shops and a small beach within walking distance, but Agia Pelagia is a couple of kilometres away. There is a regular coach to Heraklion for sightseeing. Overall we enjoyed our stay

Myself and my husband stayed at Blue Bay resort for a week, Sept 2025. We cannot fault anything! I don’t understand the negative reviews I read before going! The hotel is really nice, amazing views, all staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. They all clearly work very hard! Our room was in the main building, basic but clean, what else do you need on holiday when you spend so little time in your room! Air con worked great, had a balcony with sea view. TV only had a news channel in English for those who want to know, we don’t watch tv on holiday so no issue for us. Free WiFi, you’re given the ‘secret code’ when you check in. It was a bit patchy in our room (101) but worked perfectly round the main pool & in the restaurant. Also had hairdryer, fridge, plenty of storage for clothing and a safe, although this is charged extra at €3 per night. In my opinion this should be included in the room. Kettle, tea/coffee facilities are not put in the room automatically but if you ask at reception they will put them in your room for you, it was no trouble :) There’s great day time entertainment activities for everyone, I loved the Aqua gym in the main pool! Evening entertainment is in the amphitheatre or by the main pool. All the acts were brilliant, comedy acrobat show, fire & light show and a special mention to the Divas to name a few! 3 South African ladies singing, they were AMAZING! The whole vibe in the amphitheatre was brilliant, such a good evening! Food- there is SO much choice at all 3 meal times, unless you’re ridiculously fussy you could not go hungry! They even had a vegan & vegetarian corner. The food is really good! The puddings are WOW!!! You can also get sandwiches, pizza and other hot snacks, biscuits, cakes and ice cream from the main pool bar! They also come round with big cups of watermelon chunks in the afternoon. Drinks- local beer, wine and spirits (ouzo & raki) included in AI. Juices, water & soft drinks are help yourself at breakfast add beer/wine to that for lunch and dinner. They have a good variety of cocktails to choose from. Yes they’re only ouzo & raki but you’re in Greece so why wouldn’t it be local spirits! If you find it too sharp ask for extra syrup or soft drink in it. You can buy the branded things separately. I loved the ouzo paradise! You get glasses if you’re sat by the bar and small plastic cups if your around the pool! Yes they’re small but a much better idea, who wants glass by a pool area! They also have cups and water, juice or iced tea in the reception area to help yourself too. The hotel is spread over 3 buildings but the restaurant is in the main building so I would recommend staying there. One of the building is up quite a steep hill. You can walk down the beach from the hotel, max 10mins. Lovely beach but rocky floor which is very slippery so take rock shoes if you have them. A couple of restaurants and shops. There is a bus from the hotel, free of charge that can take you up and down to the beach at certain times. You can walk to Agia Pelagia from the hotel, took us around 30mins max. A lovely scenic walk but again some steep hills so might not be doable for everyone. We stuck to the roads but you can cut down by the beach which was a bit quicker coming back. A lovely beach and seaside town with lots of shops and restaurants/cafes. I would absolutely recommend Blue Bay resort and wouldn’t hesitate in staying here again!
