It calls itself a five star and it probably shouldn't. Having said that, there are many extremely good things to say about this hotel. While the building looks dated, it is well maintained and very clean. The staff are all wonderful and friendly. The rooms are spacious and have incredible ocean views. The breakfasts are diverse and plentiful. The walk into town is pleasant, though too long and steep for people with any mobility issues, I would imagine. The unheated pool was too cold in January and beach access is at a premium in the north of the island. It also seems that the mountains cause cloud cover to roll over most afternoons. Not the hotel's fault! Overall, I would say it lacks the luxuries to call itself a five star hotel, but would nevertheless highly recommend it.

We stayed at Hotel Best Semiramis and had a lovely experience overall. After checking in, I went back to reception as I had emailed ahead requesting a higher floor and mentioned our anniversary. Adrian at reception was absolutely amazing—very hospitable and genuinely welcoming. He immediately upgraded us to a higher floor with a larger balcony offering stunning views, and even arranged complimentary drinks to celebrate our stay. The hotel itself is very nice and comfortable. We had half board, and while it’s a busy hotel (especially during breakfast and dinner), the staff handle everything efficiently. I’d rate it more as a solid 4-star rather than 5, but it’s still great value for money. The location is excellent, and the scenery around the hotel is breathtaking. Overall, we had a wonderful time and would definitely come back again.

When I booked, I paid extra for a sea-view room. Upon arrival, I was told the hotel was fully booked and was given a first-floor room facing the garden/highway instead. That night, they placed me in the hotel next door, which was actually quite good. The next day, I was moved back once a sea-view room became available. Unfortunately, the room was directly below the dining hall, and I could clearly hear tables and chairs being moved from around 7–10 pm and again early in the morning from about 6–10 am. This setup might work for guests who party late and wake up early, but I value my sleep, so it was not suitable. I asked if another room was available and was told the hotel was fully booked again. I was also never followed up with if a different room became available. Overall, this was very frustrating and disruptive, especially for a first stay. While the view was lovely, the amount of hassle involved made it not worth it.

Wonderful hotel built into cliffs. Our room 1808 had a great balcony with views over Puert de la Cruz. We loved the room, the service, the quality and the food in the dining room. A lovely cliff walk from the hotel took you down into the town in about 30 minutes.

I would like to share some feedback regarding our stay. Unfortunately, we are somewhat disappointed to find that our room does not have a clothes drying rack or a heated towel rail. During the winter season, the room feels rather cool and humid, and it is difficult for our clothes to dry properly. In addition, the blankets provided are very thin for the colder months. It's not a 5stars hotel definitely, just old hotel without good service , not so bad for current price, let's say this is 4 stars outdated hotel with big rooms, nice ocean view from the high floors, good breakfast and delicious dinner. Unfortunately, sauna in SPA doesn't work, a bit disappointed since it was important for us for winter time, warm swimingpool with jacuzzi was very small and old, area around pool without any sunlight or nice view. The staff aren't not so friendly, a bit cold hospitality, you need to ask about everything as additional extras, like kettle or bathrobe and they maybe bring it to you ( the hotel, according to the info from the reception, doesn't have enough), of course for charge. Nice big bathroom but unfortunately without hair conditioner, only shampoo and shower gel... This place needs to be renovated and management needs to be improved and modernization of course required.
