We stayed at Barcelo Playa Blanca for our honeymoon and honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect. We booked the swim-up room and it was absolutely worth it. Waking up and stepping straight into the pool felt like pure luxury. The room itself was so modern and beautifully designed. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, with so many pillows that I wanted to take them all home. I loved the open-style bathroom, and the separate toilet was such a smart touch for privacy. The staff were always friendly and welcoming, and the all-inclusive restaurant… wow. I’m still dreaming about that buffet. Every meal felt like a treat. We also really enjoyed the entertainment in the evenings. The only thing I’d improve is the app... the layout could be clearer. I had to ask staff to find the theatre and ended up Googling the act to know what it was about. A bit more info directly in the app would make things easier. Overall, it was the perfect place for a honeymoon, especially with the room we had. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

Excellent hotel. Huge, impressive setup including a massive pool and landscaped grounds. Room layout is a little odd with the sink outside of the toilet in the main room, though it still functions. Hotel is clean throughout and our room was cleaned spotlessly everyday. Staff are all very friendly and welcoming. Food is good though not amazing, though there is plenty of choice. We really liked the Mediterranean restaurant on the right when entering, for some reason it is always quieter than the other buffet restaurant, and the decor is beautiful. The evening entertainment is good fun, including the kids mini disco. Gym is well equipped with great open air views. Overall it’s a great hotel which I would definitely return to.

A really nice hotel... Offer spacious modern rooms and helpful and attentive staff. The sheer size of the place is amazing and dwarfs any other local hotel complex. The location is pretty good with the marina a short walk away, and the main part of Playa Blanca Town a little further in the opposite direction. The Playa Dorada is also a short walk away and is very busy but a nice place to hang out, swim and snorkel. The food at the hotel is overall good, but not exceptional. It can also be a little confusing finding what you want as the 3 food areas seem to mix things up. Hard to explain but anyone who had been here will understand. The entertainment is where things fall down. There is some basic daytime entertainment but the animation team seems limited in resourcing... They need more people and need to interact more. I'm the evening there are shows in the theatre, and the standard is mostly good. But there is no pre show animation, competitions, just a small disco for very young children. This and the sheer scale of the hotel all leads to the atmosphere feeling like it lacks fun and enjoyment, relaxation absolutely but if you want something a bit more upbeat then look elsewhere. Which is a shame because in many other ways the hotel is excellent.

Stayed here for a week with my partner. The room was great (apart from the leaking A/C, which only got fixed on our final night). The entertainment was good. Big shoutout to Amine, Antonio, and the girls! They’re a huge asset to Barceló. Without them, our trip would have been much less fun. They organised multiple activities throughout the day, such as water polo, stretching and balance classes, and several performances in the theatre that kept us entertained. The food at the buffet was okay, definitely above standard for buffet food, though a little bit repetitive. Another big shoutout to Sliman, who looked after us and was always up for a chat. Great gym overall with solid equipment. There’s no air conditioning, so bring a vest or something light, as you’ll be sweating buckets. Would come back here if visiting Lanzarote again.

Design and Layout The resort is new, beautifully put together and very spacious. Easy to navigate and never feels crowded. Location Right on the promenade with shops and restaurants, and close to a genuinely family friendly beach. Lovely area overall and worth recommending. Pools and Facilities The main pool is huge, split into two sections. The heated side is brilliant for children, with floats allowed. There is also a kids pool with slides which went down well. Facilities are strong across the board, including amphitheatre, games area, sports bar, gym and kids club, all good quality. Dining The restaurant looks fantastic, stylish furniture and a great layout. Food quality is good, but repetitive, which lets it down. We were half board, which was adequate, especially as there are plenty of nearby dining options. Rooms Modern, nicely designed and a good size. Balconies are decent with partial sea views. Issues We had a persistent ant problem in the room which the hotel never fully resolved. This knocks it down a star. Overall A solid, enjoyable resort with great design, strong facilities and a top location. We would return.
