The Barcelo Maya Riviera all-inclusive programme includes the following:

  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner in the restaurants and bars at the complex - all the à la carte restaurants require prior booking and have a dress code.

Booked a last minute trip here as the rate for the hotel was reasonable. It’s a one hour drive from Cancun airport and check in process was a little slow. But once we checked in the oceanfront king room was spectacular. Beaches are beautiful and the pools are clean and huuuuuge! There are 4 different restaurants and while you would think the Mexican restaurant would be the best, interestingly enough our best dinner was at La Comedie and our servers Jose and Benjamin were excellent. Overall great value here and the resort is very clean, new and worth the trip.

I had an incredible stay at Barceló Riviera Maya AO! From the moment we arrived, Gustavo at the front desk went above and beyond to make us feel welcome—he was truly amazing. All the staff members were constantly smiling and offering top-notch service, creating such a warm and relaxing atmosphere. The room conditions were impeccable, always clean and well-maintained, and the food quality exceeded expectations—fresh, delicious, and with a great variety every day. If I could give 100 stars, I absolutely would. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable getaway!

We would think twice about staying at the AO again. Our room was extremely moldy. Upon arrival to our room the smell hit us like a ton of bricks. I'm extremely allergic to mold. We contacted the front desk right away. The man that answered laughed at me and said " this is mexico, it's to be expected". I beg to differ. We have stayed at many barcelo resorts in the past several in this complex and we have NEVER had an issue like this. They sent up housekeeping who said this was a problem they couldn't fixes it was too bad. I called the front desk again and got the same rude man. He sent up maintenence who was unable to converse with me. I downloaded a translator to try. He ended up calling front desk from my room and passed the phone to me where the same rude man again had a laugh and said " it's humid it's Mexico. There's nothing I can do." We had ro sleep with the door open to air it out. By day 2 broke out in hives and had to travel to Playa Del Carmen to seek support. Antihistamines got me though as did sleeping on the deck at times. A horrible experience. Aside from that, the resort is beautiful. The beach is incredible. The service in the buffet is amazing. I do suggest the resort work on entertainment in the evening. We won't return to this particular resort due to the front desk lack of service with our room.

Our group was here for an Indian wedding that had events on different days and different locations throughout the resort. Pros Nice beach Food is 6/10, which is not bad for an all inclusive. Kids pool area and all the pools with several wet bars. Cons The shuttle service going from different resorts comes every 20 mins and stops at every location both ways. They should have more efficient transportation for such a huge place. Front desk customer service is not the friendliest, and most can't communicate fluently in English. Very long walk to get to the lobby if you have an oceanfront room.

Luis Guzman in the Miramar buffet has been excellent!! Very friendly, helpful, warm, welcoming. We would request his section everyday. Great way to start the day by seeing him. Best service we have received. You are lucky to have him as an employee. Excellent service!!!
