Absolutely loved this place. Stayed in the pool rooms on the adult side and enjoyed the more laid back feel as compared to the Palace side. When we felt like playing, we walked down the walkway to the Palace. The beach is gorgeous. The food is decent. The staff is very helpful and attentive. The resort does a great job of maintaining the landscaping and public spaces. Drinks were great. One thing I would recommend is to make sure you are Premium.

Let me start by saying our check in was fine, the property is beautiful and the rooms and hotel area were clean. Now...NO ONE spoke English. The most of the staff were rude and unpleasant. None of the restaurants had AC so you went from hot to hotter when eating. The buffets were not good. The only 2 places worth eating at were the Japanese and Mediterranean restaurants. The French restaurant required men to wear pants. Who goes to a tropical island with pants! I booked my restaurants w/the Concierge by computer but when you show up at the restaurants, they have names and times written on a piece of paper if you do not have your confirmation receipt concierge gave you and your name is not on the list, they will not seat you. Why is this not computerized. Housekeeping showed up when we were in the room and never came back to clean up. I had to ask for towels every day and wash clothes because if you don't ask for them, they don't give them to you. Lastly, we went with my step-daughter to the club and they played 2 English songs in an hour and a half, Dancing Queen by Abba and a song from the movie Grease. Really, you're a club, you have nothing else to play. I would NEVER recommend this Hotel.

My recent stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival, the check-in process took an unnecessarily long time, and the manager was condescending and unhelpful. Our room had a roach, and despite being asked to take pictures twice, the situation was not properly addressed.
The service was equally poor throughout our stay. At the buffet, the service was terrible, and at the Japanese restaurant, it took 1.5 hours just to get drinks. The towel service was appalling; the staff gave us stained towels, and the bed sheets were dirty on three separate occasions.
Additionally, when we requested fresh towels, they never arrived even after waiting two hours and making four phone calls. The staff's refusal to speak English, despite clearly understanding us, added to the frustration.
Overall, the experience was far below expectations, and I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Don’t be fooled. This place has beautiful landscaping and pictures, but overall it was a bad experience. We left 3 days early. Room was dirty. Sheets were not changed in the room for the entire four days we were there. Bathroom was gross. No hand wash cloths. TV was possessed.
We’ve cruised and been to destinations all over the Caribbean. Every stay has water stations all over the place for their guests except this one. It’s 85-90 degrees and hot. It’s ridiculous. I went for a walk on the beach, came back and walked up to the bar to request a cup of water. Worker at the bar rudely put her hand up in the air and told me she was closed. She saw I was parched and was extremely rude. And this is an “all-inclusive” resort. Wasn’t asking for alcohol or anything else just a cup of water and got treated like that.
Food is horrible and they enforce a ridiculous dress code at a buffet. My wife and I went for a walk in shorts and sleeveless shirt on the beach. Went to the buffet and they said she could enter but not me because men can’t wear sleeveless shirts. At the same time women in thong bikinis are walking in the place.
I will NEVER return to this place. I highly recommend NOT staying here.

Santa Perez from group entertainment was amazing! Very friendly staff at Barceló. Miss Perez was exceptionally welcoming. All rooms are very close to the beach with several beach access points with showers to rinse the sand off. Room service is very attentive and replaces bottled water very frequently. Make reservations for restaurants as soon as you arrive to the resort as they fill up quickly. The Italian restaurant has been our favorite so far. Would highly recommend Barceló in the future.
