This place is fantastic! It's just a hop, skip, and jump away from the beach, plus there’s a lovely swimming pool options. You can enjoy some delicious meals and drinks, all while making wonderful memories with your family. The staff is super friendly, and the rooms are always tidy and clean. Just a quick tip if you’re coming from the Spanish peninsula: the timing here is similar to the UK, so it’s a good idea to plan ahead for activities. Enjoy your stay!

I have never received such an amazing service ever in any other hotel. The staff was amazing, they were so so nice! We got our room earlier than we should since our plane arrived early, they gave us amazing tips on what to visit in the island and the lady in the front desk was so nice and understanding!! Even the last day they offered to keep our luggages until our time of departure and they also offered us to shower there even if we gave our room back earlier that day. The room was beautiful, we enjoyed the views to the sea, we slept super well in a very confortable bed, everything was very clean, the food at the restaurant was delicious… what a marvellous stay! Also, the location was just perfect to visit all the island avoiding long drives. ;) Can’t wait to come back!!!

This was our first trip abroad with our 11-month-old, and while the hotel has a great location and picturesque surroundings, several aspects of our stay could have been much better. Check-in: The process was incredibly slow—frustrating after a long day of travel, especially with a baby. Dining: Dinner service doesn’t start until 6:30 pm, which is too late for families with young children. On our first night, we were advised to try the Show Factory for an earlier meal—big mistake. My wife and I became seriously ill after eating two very questionable club sandwiches. Avoid at all costs! It took us 5 days to feel normal again and as a result we never got to eat a full meal as part of our half board package, and found ourselves mainly utilising their plain white toast facilities. Pools: The larger hotel pools were far too cold for a baby. Fortunately, we found a much warmer pool elsewhere on the grounds. Room Issues: Our room was disappointingly dark, with a terrace that received no sunlight—something that would have been nice while our baby napped. To make matters worse, a drain splashed water directly onto our sun loungers (see photo). Hidden Fees: Charging €3 per day for the in-room safe feels ironic, considering its purpose is to secure valuables from hotel staff. Overall, while the setting is beautiful, the guest experience needs significant improvement—particularly for families traveling with young children.

An Incredible Stay at Barceló Royal Adults Only in Fuerteventura We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Barceló Royal Adults Only in Fuerteventura, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. The hotel was spotless and beautifully maintained, providing a relaxing and luxurious atmosphere throughout. The staff were outstanding – attentive, kind, and always helpful. Their warmth and professionalism really stood out and made our stay extra special. The food was exceptional, both in taste and presentation. Every meal felt like a first-class dining experience, adding to the overall enjoyment of our trip. From the clean and well-kept facilities to the flawless service, everything exceeded our expectations. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a peaceful and indulgent adults-only retreat in Fuerteventura. We can’t wait to return!

When you've saved a lot of money to get away for a week - and the variety of locations you could choose to go on holiday is so great - you expect a really special experience (particularly if the hotel wants you to keep coming back). Although enjoyable, Barcelo Castillo did not deliver that - we won't be back. In summary: + Fantastic weather (high 20's - last week of May) + Beautiful food in the hotel (particularly the fish and fresh fruit) + Clear sea with lots of sea life - great snorkelling. + Amazing natural swimming pool a short distance (500m) up the coastal path. - Not all drinks and ice creams are included, so it's not really all inclusive. - We arrived at the hotel at 11:00 - but the rooms are not available until 15:30. Why weren't we told that there are changing rooms behind reception so we could change into our pool gear ? - Poor entertainment communication. All the evening entertainment is in the sister Barcelo Mar hotel. It would be so easy to put up a board outside the restaurant at Castillo to advertise the entertainment for that night. - Poor attitude of waiting staff - particularly at the Sports Bar (owned by the hotel). The staff there made you feel like an inconvenience - rather that a guest who has paid in advance. The hotel just didn't make you feel like a valued guest. - Because the Barcelo Mar has more facilities and all the entertainment, you can feel like the poor relation in the Castillo. - Ant infestation in the bungalow. Didn't bother us (they are tiny), but our daughter was not happy ! - Not enough sun loungers with shade by the pool.
