Absolute heaven on earth. It was one of the best resorts we have ever stayed in. Rooms were huge plush and very tastefully decorated. We absolutely loved the pool in our villa (B01), which had incredible views over the sea and the villas far away up the hillside. And, we couldn't hear another soul. We almost never left the resort and lived Sands restaurant with its location next to the beach, and the huge and delicious portions. Room service was excellent too. If you are looking for a place to unwind completely, this is it.

I am lucky enough to have stayed at some amazing 5 star hotels in my life, but I have never had an experience as nice as Banyan Tree Koh Samui. Came here after a short stay in Bangkok and met my wife who travelled up from Singapore and we had an amazing time the staff could not be nicer the rooms are giant and perfect to the point that videos/photos really don’t do them justice. We came in the rainy season but honestly it just added to the aesthetic of the place. Beach is awesome and has a tonne of free amenities. We are already planning our return trip!

This is not a hotel it is a luxury sanctuary! This has been an amazing experience, thank you so very much Banyan Tree! Overall I would give this hotel a 9,5. Here are all the positives: - Perfect private location in Lamai, beautiful views and wonderful sea. - Villas are huge, very luxurious and comfortable, every detail is thought of. Cleaned twice a day and a little surprise every day. - The staff are amazing! Especially the hosts! I would love to thank our wonderful host Gigi again and again for her attentiveness, friendliness and attention to detail to deliver a top notch service. Generally, the staff here are very smart, gracious people who speak English well and communicate effectively. Another special thank you to Beauty, Pop, Am, and Stamp. - If you are gonna stay here, choose the well-being villa because the well-being programs and the well-being manager Bikram are beyond words amazing. Thank you Bikram for opening our eyes and soul! Some negatives: - Although the rooms are amazing and generally very clean, they are bit weary and tired. The renovations that are already made also look a bit sloppy - the paint around the pool etc. The shower also has a lot of limescale that needs some chemical cleaning. What was unacceptable: - On our last day at breakfast, the toaster was not working so the restaurant chef with a heavy German accent was aggressively commanding the staff to warm up the bread in the waffle maker. In such a hotel where guests pay a fortune, do you really only have one toaster? Much more alarmingly, why is the restaurant chef out there scolding staff in front of the guests? He was so rude and condescending to the lovely employees that it broke my heart and ruined today’s breakfast for me. I wish you all the staff my best!

I must say that this stay and our experience was nothing short of perfection. First positive is of course the staff and service. They are incredibly kind and helpful and they go out of their way for you. Second is the room, which is a great place to stay and well designed and of course with a beautiful view. Third is the resort, which is beautiful spacious and in an excellent location nestled between two mountains. Banyan tree is exceptional and we wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

We couldn’t have hoped for a better welcome! Care and attention from the staff was second to none - so friendly and accommodating. The Villa was sublime and the rest of the facilities were perfect. Spa treatment with Massy was fantastic- so relaxing and invigorating. Beach staff were there to help when required, and helped make the stay so much fun!
