Broadly a nice stay however the staff made our visit feel more transactional than the magic experience we received from other hotels and resorts in Thailand.
On arrival there was little enthusiasm or welcoming. Staff around the rest rarely greeted or said hello. These little things are what makes other resorts feel special.
Our room was excellent, everything we could need was there and during the rain we were delighted to stay inside!
It was lovely to hear children through the day and the flow of water on the pools.
Breakfast was excellent. A wide range of options with kid friendly items included. There's nothing better than having fresh fruit and a coffee overlooking the sea.
The prices for massages are strangely high, go across the road for normal prices!
The location is down the beach or road to the night village and many lovely restaurants and bars. If you don't want to walk a drive is a couple of minutes.

The biggest plus for our family was the setup of family room. You can make two rooms out of one by sliding door.
Service was very quick. I really appreciate the complimentary birthday cake for my husband.
Only thing I disliked was that other guests reserved the cabanas with their stuff for the whole day even when they where hours away. I recommend to put the rules on every cabana and say that when there are stuff untouched for an hour you will collect them. At least this is what Anantara resort does and that’s fair in my opinion.
Also please clean the bedside lamp covers. They were dusty.
Overall very nice hotel. Loved different pools and the family room. Very good value for the money.

Ours was a last minute booking to the Bandara where we'd been in 2017. We went to surprise friends that go twice a year. Initially our room was pleasant but badly situated on the main road side. It was noisy and a longer walk to the pools, beach and restaurant. It was the noise of the traffic that kept me awake all night. I asked reception for some earplugs . They immediately upgraded us to a room nearer our friends, overlooking the pool and with no sound of the traffic. From then on our holiday started. The staff are so helpful and friendly, the restaurant has moved since our last visit, it is now on the beach front. This makes for a wonderful morning sipping coffee overlooking the sea.
The only downside is that 'happy hour' at the two bars doesn't start earlier, and finish later. This way would keep clients at the hotel, instead people disappear and go down to Fisherman's village a short walk away! Additionally the meals in the restaurant, if cheaper would also encourage clients to eat there. Apart from this the hotel is lovely, the pools and gardens are well maintained and being able to access the beach as part of the hotel is a bonus!!

I’ve stayed for a few days here the hotel is in a wonderful location and quite walkable to Fisherman’s Village. The rooms are generously spacious and the beds very comfortable. I would like to give a special shout out to Kitty who was amazingly helpful and respectfully attentive. Likewise to Joy on reception who did excellently when I wished a room with a different location. She was very helpful and arranged an effortless change.
Infact all staff I spoke to were friendly and remembered our name and made us feel very much at home. Always a chat with a smile like wise for the beach staff.
Thank you to the Bandara team for a lovely stay.

We had a wonderful time at Bandara. The location is great, just a short walk from Fisherman's village, and the staff were so helpful and friendly, they really went out of their way to make sure we had a great stay. We island hopped and ended up coming back to Bandara for our last night because we liked it so much. The pools in particular were a huge plus point, especially the larger of the two - it's very scenic and a fantastic size for swimming lengths.
