We came for a holiday, and it was our first time visiting Phuket. We were advised to book our stay at this hotel the location is amazing, although a bit far from the city. It seems there’s some construction work happening inside, but it didn’t really affect our stay. The staff were very kind and respectful throughout our visit. I was especially happy to meet Faisal, who spoke Arabic and helped us a lot truly a great person. The Vista restaurant team always welcomed us with warm smiles and greetings. A special thanks as well to Elias from Reception, who welcomed us with a respectful smile, was always ready to assist, and guided us to visit many nice places around. The only downside was the weather it rained a lot during our stay, so we couldn’t explore or enjoy the outdoor activities as much as we wanted. it was a pleasant experience, and we truly appreciate the hospitality from everyone at the hotel.

Thank you to the staff at Avista Hideaway, in particular the lovely lady who checked us in and Aye. We had issues with our banking-their support throughout the three day process was outstanding. We were able to continue our great holiday with minimal worry. The resort itself was a great escape from the busy Penang township. What a view!!! Our short trips into town (300baht each way, or the free restore bus), and around, were forever memorable as was our ability relax on the serene landscape of the hotel. 24 hour room service supported our late nights, a golf buggy to take us to our room when we had tired feet, and an incredibly honest, happy and responsive staff at the lobby, the restaurants, the garden, the pool bar, the spa. Where ever we were, when ever we interacted it was always a positive experience. Maintenance and room Renovations were happening but so discretely that it was no bother at all. One of the travellers has had multiple knee and ankle surgeries and the hilly, full of steps location was totally okay for us. The resort was out of town, but at the bottom of the driveway was a street with restaurants, a tailor (got my pants fixed), a laundry (cheap as chips), a 24 hour 7-11, other services. Next to the 7-11 was a little restaurant which had THE BEST GREEN CURRY I’ve ever tasted-thanks to the Granny who stood in the kitchen with her daughters?? To make it 😋 We would stay here again in a heart beat. Loved it!!!

Unfortunately, our experience at this hotel fell significantly short of a five-star standard. From the moment we arrived, we were disappointed. Upon check-in, staff member Jade welcomed us into a dark blue room that felt uninviting and lacked any sense of “wow.” She then quickly proceeded to discuss a hotel deposit, which had not been mentioned at the time of booking, as we had already paid in full through our third-party travel agent. The deposit amount changed multiple times during this discussion, and when we requested to see the hotel’s policy, it was not provided. After asking to speak with management, the fees were eventually waived; however, as a result, Jade requested housekeeping to remove the minibar from our room, which was inconvenient and unexpected. This initial experience left us feeling unsettled. We opted for the full-board package, but the policy was confusing and restrictive. We were told that each meal would include either an appetizer and main course, or a main course and dessert. Any errors in ordering were charged at the next meal, and beverages—including water—were not included and required additional payment. Throughout our stay, we encountered multiple issues with room facilities. Lights frequently stopped working, power would cut off unexpectedly, and the room key often failed to open the door. Each time, we had to walk to the pool area to contact the front desk, which was inconvenient and frustrating. Requests for hotel buggies were also problematic; there was often no confirmation or communication, leaving us to wait outside without certainty, which was particularly stressful when we had taxis waiting. Housekeeping services were inconsistent. Towels and robes were only replaced when specifically requested, despite repeated calls and messages. Towels were often left on wet floors, and litter around the hotel grounds was noticeable. The outdoor décor was poorly maintained, with broken elements that detracted from the overall atmosphere. Additionally, there were unpleasant smells in the hotel rooms, which made the environment less welcoming. During the rainy season, the air conditioning was left on full blast, so after returning from a long, wet day outside, we were often greeted by freezing cold rooms, which was uncomfortable. On one occasion, we also experienced difficulty charging a single drink to our room prior to checkout, which created unnecessary complications. Overall, the combination of confusing policies, inconsistent service, recurring maintenance issues, poorly maintained facilities, and uncomfortable room conditions made our stay far below the expectations set by a five-star property. We hope the management addresses these issues to ensure a smoother experience for future guests.

Beautiful imagery and reviews. The shock begins right from front desk at time of check in - rooms are not prepared post 2 hours from check in time as well as no sign of a cordial welcome drink or a cold/hot towel, basics one would expect. What is surprising is the lobby and entrance is beautiful so clearly the design is great… management is what’s off but then you get to know it’s a franchise property of Accor. Post check in at 11 PM the main outdoor lock (leading to the balcony) doesn’t work for which repeated calls are made only for someone to show up at 1 AM. Next the electricity the next morning keeps going in my mother’s room for which the maintainance person walks in without a knock or bell. The design of the property as seen in the images is great but no maintenance or sops given it’s an international chain. This is all day one, will keep you posted though definitely not recommended. Thai hospitality is way better than what’s experienced here.

Avista Hideaway was amazing. We cannot find the words to describe how good it really was. From staff to accommodation to facilities, it was the best resort we have stayed in. We didn't need to go anywhere else if we didn't want to. The rooms were out of this world, the food and restaurants were not only exquisite but were full of variety and accommodating to allergies. A big shout out to Tuktik from the pool bar, she was talkative, informative and creative with our drinks. Location was perfect, close to everything but far enough away from the hustle and bustle. Avista is on our list to stay in Thailand from now on... thank you for making our trip and our 20 year wedding anniversary so special!
