I would say overall hotel is amazing but I would need to complain about the management team. I booked this trip to be with my friends and their Family expected the relax and private vacation experiences in this 5 stars hotel. Surprisingly it has the Indian wedding during our stay - the check in would take longer than we expected. The wedding has many ceremony and activity which using the facility in the hotel this will be prioritize to the wedding guests , hotel mentions that it’s still open for the public but will have the majority of those wedding guest… we see the ceremony at noon at the swimming pool - Night at the beach which we may not comfortable to be around that area as they having ceremony The room I stay was said upgraded and it’s the connecting room which not having sound proof! The parent who live next to me is the wedding guests which has a children who speak loud (which I understand) I feel like they talk and knock on the door many times and as the wall may not really thick I can heard the knocking sound frequently and it’s sound like knocking on my door- I have to check at the door many times. This is not private at all as I expected my stay relax and private .. I did complain to the reception at my check out that at lease they should manage to have all the guests in the same building. This is also effect to the breakfast time which I cannot complain but just too many people and noisy. Not sure if the next time booking should at lease state or inform other guest before booking if it has the wedding like this? I read the review for the hotel and seeing many feedback for the same issue and seems like the hotel cannot manage it. I only get the word “Sorry, and will feedback to the management team”

We spent 5 nights at the Avani + Hotel in Khao Lak. We had 2 double rooms with connecting door for our family. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the bathroom is big enough. The breakfast was fantastic, but would recommend to come earlier in the morning because around 9:00 AM it is getting crowded and loud. The beach is perfect and there is enough shadow to enjoy it on the sunny/ hot days. They have a small farm where kids can see turtles, salamander, rabbits, feed the fish. The kids room with ping pong, billiard games is a great asset ! We enjoyed it and would definitely recommend this hotel!

The hotel looks great and built in wonderful correspondence with the jungle. There is no doubt that there is truth behind the pictures on Booking and Google. But all this is worth nothing once your vacation is interrupted by an Indian wedding of 300 guests!!!! We stayed 4 days in the season (February-March) and 2 weddings were held during our stay! The relaxed vacation experience is replaced by the loud noise of Indian music that is heard until late at night, the smells of strong spices throughout the day, entire parts of the hotel that are closed for the ceremonies such as the children's pool, the adults' pool and crowds of guests making noise in all areas of the hotel. And if that's not enough, the hotel's policy is very clear - wedding guests are preferred over regular guests. When we arrived, check-in took more than half an hour, they gave us completely different rooms than we booked (six months in advance) on the claim that they had "upgraded" us, but because the hotel was occupied with wedding guests, they had nothing to do with it. The next day we got other rooms that were full of moisture and mold to the point that all the clothes I had in my suitcase got wet and smelled!!!!! Luckily I closed the hotel with an agent and not via Booking and he took care of "fighting our wars" for us and compensation. but unfortunately, despite the compensation we had the experience was terrible! We arrived on vacation with a baby girl, and 2 seniors after busy days in Phuket to relax and it turned out that relaxing was the last thing we did . Not recommend at all. There are plenty of other hotels in Khao Lak that don't perform to the standard of banquet halls.

I would like to rate only the gym, not the hotel, as I am not a hotel guest but a gym member. The gym is generally well-equipped with all the machines. However, it is only recommended for beginners, as it lacks enough professional equipment and the range of weights is too low for advanced athletes. A major drawback of the gym is that it is cooled down too much. This is already in a very unhealthy range because the muscles cool down very quickly, leading to muscle strains. Moreover, it is very bad for the circulation and the body to cool down so deeply when it is very warm outside. I have mentioned this several times at the reception to the gym staff, but it was never taken seriously. Therefore, I can only rate the gym with 3 points.

We loved our stay at Avani+ at Khao Lak - we only wish our stay could have been longer! We initially booked a superior room but before arrival decided to upgrade to a corner deluxe. At check-in we were given a pool-access deluxe which was amazing! We absolutely loved our room - being able to swim in the pool right outside our door was wonderful :) The facilities are great - the pools (my son had a daily routine of going to the beach and then going to each and every pool) were lovely and not too busy which was surprising, especially as we were there over the Christmas period. We also absolutely loved the arcade, basketball court and the climbing wall. We enjoyed the food at the restaurants (we ate at every one and had a drink at every bar) and breakfast was fantastic - such a choice of food!! The trick is to either eat inside (everyone crowds outside) or to not go during peak hours. And lastly, the service was really good. We felt well taken care of by all the staff :)
