During my stay at Ava Resort Cancun, Issac from the entertainment team truly stood out. His energy, professionalism, and genuine warmth made every activity unforgettable. Whether it was organizing games by the pool, hosting evening shows, or simply checking in to make sure guests were having fun, Issac went above and beyond to create a welcoming atmosphere. He has a natural talent for engaging people of all ages, making everyone feel included and valued. His enthusiasm is contagious, and you can tell he genuinely loves what he does. Thanks to Issac, my vacation was filled with laughter, great memories, and a sense of connection with the resort community. If you’re visiting Ava Resort Cancun, I highly recommend joining any event led by Issac—you’ll have an amazing time!

As seasoned travelers to the Cancun area with many all inclusive behind us, we chose the AVA resort for a couple reasons, the location to the airport and Tren Maya, the kids club and the price. Tip, this is the only all inclusive I've ever been to that cannot change $100 bill into pesos or smaller bills. This was not only a struggle but frustrating. Not the lobby, cashier or stores would touch it. Doesn't seem like a big deal but was very frustrating. Kids club, awesome! We got a two room with sun deck and Jacuzzi, awesome. Probably one of the best beds I've slept in in Cancun. Kids loved the small extra room. Room service, awesome. Booking a restaurant not easy and worthless to try, the App wasn't working all the time and we struggled to get one reservation in four nights. The buffet is small for the size of hotel, there are two identical food offerings but very limited and boring after four days. Room service has more options and just as fast. We never waiter more than 30 minutes. Pool was humongous although lacluster, not as many trees as other resorts and more lounge chairs without umbrellas. Cabanas are an extra $70 a day. Kids pool area is nice with a lot of play slides. Beach at the time of our travel was brown and polluted for the first three days. The resort feels like a huge cruise ship it's long and has more indoor mall feel than other resorts in the area. I would say that's ok if you like the cruise cold feel, there is no Mexican culture here other than the people and tacos. Alcohol is top shelf and has a great selection however the only open bar after 11pm is the night club or room service. Overall decent stay for us to be closer to transportation in and out, great night sleeps and mediocre food for what we have experienced in the region at competitors. Solid 3 for location and price but lacks other resprt elements from the majority of their competitors in the area.

Food was great- especially at the Bayside Cafe with Angel and Jesus, they provided us a special lunch. Grateful for their hospitality. Breakfast was amazing including the service with Pedro and Citlat from Copal. They were very attentive and helpful. Dinner at Blackiron was amazing… Jose the staff was amazing. Steak, wine and all the fixes were great.

It was amazing and unforgettable experience. The staff were super friendly and took care of everything from the beginning to the end. Alonso was extremely caring and made sure that everything was prepared for us. Jorge in the Varenda restaurant spoiled us with amazing food recommendations, please listen to him and his recommendations. Francisco and Laura at Plaza MX served us ultimately. Isaac, Arely, and Julian were so entertaining in the activities and definitely made unforgettable memories. I cannot thank the staff enough; Thank you so much. Looking forward to come again.

Just returned from a stay here with family. Overall a great resort if you enjoy hanging by the pools and friendly staff. Not quite 5 star resort but good. Good: everyone who works there is super friendly and helpful. From the waiters to the housekeeping, everyone seemed to be smiling and happy. The rooms are nice and were always restocked and the view was good. I had three kids and there was always something for them to do. The obstacle course in the lagoon, the kids water park, even going to the swim up bars. The kids club is amazing, great place for kids to get out of Sun or place early before heading out. The entertainment staff is great too, very engaging and fun. The gym is amazing and has so many machines! We got a massage that was good too! Bad: The check in process was slow even when we were Hall of Fame status. The restaurants were ok, not bad but nothing special. Service is slow at them. The buffets were good, with lots of options. Bad job of letting people know of activities throughout the resort, they always have something but hard to know. Like most other reviews the beach and water is terrible. Water is dark and gross and beach is very small to even hang out on and play volleyball etc. On our last day a kid threw up in the kids water park area early in the morning and they closed the pool for the whole day. Our transfer from the airport to the hotel in the day we arrived was a mess, they only had one of our three scheduled. Had to take a taxi and talk to front desk about getting refunded, not a huge deal but annoying to deal with. It is a lot of walking around the resort, we didn’t mind but good to know if you have trouble getting around.
