We have got once-in-a-lifetime experience here. Superb resort. The staff were very helpful and hospitable. We were impressed with a staff at the restaurant on the in-ocean villa area. He was very thoughtful and offered us the best service. We chatted with him almost every day when having meals there and knew more about the life there. I don't have a clear picture of him but a blur one. Hope that the resort team can deliver this message to him that we were happy to meet him 🙂
And V-deck dinner - you must try this for once! It was incredible. Surprisingly, we had this special dinner on a full moon 🌕 everything was perfect.

The experience was terrific. Both beach and ocean villas were really outstanding. Especially the ocean pool villa was impeccable, though the property is a bit old but still offers mesmerizing views and the best of facilities. The food was also unexpectedly quite good and had sufficient Indian options. Even their snorkelling and scuba experience was also excellent. Overall, the experience was just fantastic. Just one issue was there that service could have been slightly better.

My husband and I came here and the end of our honeymoon for 6 days. When I tell you the was the best trip of our lives, I mean it to the fullest extent. From the moment we landed in the sea plane, we knew this was going to be a dream.
The entire experience was incredible. We first stayed in a beachfront villa and then moved to an in-ocean villa. I would always suggest doing this combination. You are much more connected to the island experience when you stay on the island. Staying in the in-ocean villa to finish the trip was the most incredible part of the trip. We were lucky enough to stay in the biggest villa (just the two of us). We felt like we were living in a dream. It was magical--the pool, snorkeling first thing in the morning when the sun came up, all of the areas to sit and lounge outside, the giant bed, the incredible bathtub and shower--I can still visualize every detail.
Food: lots of options. We liked to eat at the pool bar on the beach. I felt the selection of food was generally better there. We ate at the buffet most nights--the theme changes each night and we really enjoyed it. We at at the restaurant near the in-ocean villas--this was also very good. We did not get any extras or pay to have food that was not included in our package--a very smart decision.
Spa: I had a massage--it was the best massage and most relaxing experience I have ever had. The spa seems as if it is on another island. You are outdoors, yet hear absolutely nothing except for nature sounds. I highly recommend getting a spa treatment.
Staff: We were lucky enough to meet Sebastian one of our first nights. He was very friendly, committed to his work, and we out of his way to make sure we had the best trip ever. Generally, the staff is very committed and "all in" to their work. On our last night, there was a big buffet on the island and it was full of people sitting indoors and outdoors. Suddenly, it started pouring rain. The staff was so quick to bring in tables and chairs, make sure everyone was seated as quickly and comfortably as possible. It was amazing to see everyone in crisis mode, working as hard as they could for all of us. We felt very lucky to be cared for by them and made sure to recognize their hard work.
Cons: the ONLY con I have is not related to Angsana Velavaru, but to the environment itself. There were black ants on the beach that came into our room from time to time. I have a fear of black ants, so this was a challenge. Luckily, they spray regularly and provided extra spray for us to use when needed. We were thrilled to know there are no ants in the in-ocean villas :)
All-in-all, this was the trip of a lifetime and we often think about it. The perfect honeymoon destination and resort. Thank you for making it so special for us. We will never forget it.

Everyone has high hopes for their honeymoon destination, and angsana velavaru did not disapoint. This is hands down the best holiday we've ever had and I dont think anything I can write will do it justice.
From the moment we arrived at the airport, we were met quickly by an efficent member of their team, who took us directly to the sea plane departure lounge. The lounge was beautiful with nibbles and cold drinks, exactly what you need after a long flight.
On arrival at the hotel, we were met with welcome drinks and a cold towel and the 5 star experience didnt stop from that point on.
Our beach front property was beautiful, maintained to a high standard and was spotless. We were so so lucky that our section of beach faced south east, so every morning we woke up and watched the most incredible sunrise. The island is beautiful, rigorously maintaned by a team of hard working groundsmen and filled with beautiful tropical plants.
The food is incredible, there is so much variety and each night having a theme means dinner is always different. Maldivian night is the absolute BEST!
The Pool side bar is beautiful, run by a team of hard working and lovely barmen and waiters. The drinks menu is so varied and there is so much choice and WOW do they know how to make a drink. The Pina Colladas are amazing and all the drinks are made to a high standard.
Every member of staff here was fantastic, polite and so keen to help, everyone we passed greeted us with a smile and a hello. There were however some people who stood out as truly excellent.
Firstly, Mathin the gentleman who cleaned our room was so polite, courteous and efficient at his job. Our room was utterly spotless, he went above and beyond to look after us, making sure we were topped up with water and no request was too much for him we are truly grateful for how special he helped to make our holiday. He also created the most beautiful arrangements wishing us a happy honeymoon.
Rohim one of the chefs was also fantastic, friendly and created excellent food for us every day. He was chatty and really is a genuinely lovely person. Also, Trimal another chef who was there during our stay was a stand out person who made excellent desserts each evening. Every single evening, he greeted us with the most uplifting smile, was so polite, courteous and chatty, a very friendly chap. Hathim (Appa) was a fantastic host, who again went above and beyond for us, he would go the extra mile creating lovely Latte art on our coffees and on our final day, made a necklace out of a palm leaf for my wife.
Finally, the marine centre team, Fazheel the snorkelling lead and Izuan the marine biologist. Both are absolutely fantastic members of your team, we went on many excursions with them and went on the house reef dives every day. We had an incredible time and saw so many sea creatures, which is entirely down to these guys working hard to search for and find them, they got brilliant footage of our dives and of the animal which they shared with us. We felt really lucky to dive with them and learn about your beautiful waters from them.
The guys driving the boats on all the excursions were also so helpful, they worked so hard to find dolphins and get us to the right places to see whale sharks and on the night snorkeling trip they spotted reef sharks on our way back home, and brought us to a stop and we had the most incredible moment with about 5 sharks swimming around our boat, truly an unforgetable experience.
We absolutely loved our time here and were so sad to come home. The Maldives will always have a special place in our hearts and thankyou so much to the Velavaru team for making it so amazing.
