Lots of great stuff about the Alila post-renovation. The property is super nice and lush, but it is very spread out. Globalists receive a nice buffet, but it seems the hotel isn't aware of what the norm for Globalist breakfast is. It's usually a la carte + Buffet at most high-end Hyatt's, but here it is only the buffet. Buffet and quality of food was great. Service is nice, but a lot of basic requests couldn't be answered, such as when we asked for extra chairs to our room but couldn't provided with any. I want to emphasize the attitude of the staff was excellent, everyone was friendly. The entrance is the big Mayakoba one (The first one), not the smaller service entrance. Google maps will show you the service entrance but the actual entrance is much earlier (I hope the management will rectify this for future guests). It seems much of the property hasn't opened yet as the hotel is brand-new, but this should change soon.

Our last day today, and I want to leave a review before I forget to. This is second week since Alila was opened (previously Andaz) and I would give them a 7 star if I could. First, they pay attention to every detail. Rooms and ground very clean. Service is top. We asked for a room with close proximity to beach and pools because we have three little kids and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Food was some of the best we had. The lamb at casa Amate was a huge hit for my husband. And I personally thank you to Alicio restaurant for making a ceviche off menu. Every dish we tried was incredible, the octopus, sea bass, jumbo shrimp, mushrooms, sashimi, guacamole, etc. We enjoyed biking and a free boat ride at the reservation. Thank you for making our vacation so enjoyable, with three small kids it’s not easy. Special shout out to Abner at the Taqueria for taking care of us during breakfast and getting a cake for our daughter.

We recently stayed at Alila Mayakoba, and even though the resort is still in its soft opening phase, the experience was truly exceptional. Every single staff member we encountered was incredibly kind and genuinely eager to help with even the smallest things. We felt so well taken care of throughout our stay. The level of hospitality we experienced here is something we honestly have never felt at any other resort. The property itself is absolutely stunning. The design is luxurious yet deeply rooted in the local Mexican aesthetic, and you can really feel that thoughtful attention to detail in every corner of the resort. The hotel is surrounded by lagoon and ocean views, and the jungle-like setting inside the property is beautifully maintained and very clean. The private beach was another highlight. Unlike many beaches around Cancun where seaweed can be an issue, the resort has staff cleaning it regularly, so we were able to truly enjoy the beautiful Caribbean water. The resort is quite large, so we were initially worried that getting around might be inconvenient. But everything was incredibly smooth and well organized. From check-in to check-out, there wasn’t a single moment where we felt uncomfortable or inconvenienced. One night the shower water had a slight discoloration, but since the building is brand new, we understood it can happen and it didn’t bother us at all. If you’re looking for a peaceful, nature-immersed stay in the Cancun/Playa del Carmen area where you can truly disconnect and relax, this place is absolutely worth visiting. You will likely get much more out of the experience than you expect. We loved it so much that we already booked the same dates again for next year. We are currently staying at another all-inclusive nearby, but both my husband and I still can’t stop talking about our experience at Alila. Whether it’s for a honeymoon, vacation, or wedding, this place is highly recommended. And a special thank you to Gonzalo, who took care of us from the moment we checked in until we checked out. Your kindness and attention truly made our stay unforgettable. Throughout our stay, Gonzalo consistently went above and beyond. Every time we moved around the resort, he would take the time to introduce different parts of the property, share interesting details we would have never known, and even stop to point out wildlife and explain what we were seeing. Those little moments made the experience feel much more personal and memorable. He was also incredibly attentive and proactive. Gonzalo frequently checked in to make sure we were comfortable and never waiting for anything, often anticipating what we might need before we even asked. On top of that, his responses were always incredibly quick whenever we reached out. What really stood out was how genuine his care felt — it never felt like service, but rather someone who truly wanted us to have the best possible experience. I hope the management team recognizes what an incredible asset Gonzalo is to the property. Team members like him are a big part of what makes Alila Mayakoba so special. Thank you again, Gonzalo. We truly appreciate everything you did for us and hope to see you again next year.

This place is beautiful! The staff was all incredibly polite and helpful. The rooms are incredibly nice and clean the bed and pillows are the right kind of form. The location is terrible, it is away from everything like local dining and such. Here's where my review will get a bit bipolar, the food. All the food we are during normal dining hours was pretty bland and not what I would call 5 stars. However, we arrived back from work roughly 10 minutes before one of the restaurants closed and the manager had already closed the kitchen, but offered to make us fried rice and holy cow was that amazing! I wasn't expecting it after what we had experienced during the day, but it was awesome for him to take care of us after hours and all with a smile on their faces. To summarize, the property is beautiful, the location sucks, and if you can talk the kitchen staff into making you fried rice you're good to go!

The resort is amazing! It feels just like being in those Corona commercials and Weekend at Bernie's at the same time! Everything is beautiful here. The suites are elaborate, fit for a king, and the views are unbelievable! The white sand beach and blue waters are phenomenal! This was definitely a great and memorable experience to get away. Thank you, Andaz Mayakoba, for the amazing stay!
