Our recent stay at Anantara Veli Maldives Resort was truly an exceptional experience. Located just a convenient 30-minute boat transfer from Velana International Airport, the resort immediately immerses you in a genuine paradise setting. The selection of overwater villas is impressive, and each unit is beautifully maintained, offering privacy, comfort, and breathtaking ocean views. The team at Anantara Veli deserves special recognition. The staff are consistently warm, attentive, and highly professional, creating a welcoming atmosphere from arrival to departure. We were particularly impressed by the outstanding hospitality of Joelle and our dedicated Villa Host, Hameez, whose responsiveness and personal attention significantly enhanced our stay. The culinary offering is diverse and of excellent quality. We highly recommend Sea.Fire.Salt. for its stunning views, elegant setting, and superb cuisine. The à la carte breakfast experience was another highlight — an extensive and refined selection served with great care and attention to detail. A special compliment to the Resort Manager, David, for organizing a vibrant and well-curated welcome party for guests. It was a wonderful initiative that created a lively atmosphere and added a memorable touch to the overall experience. An additional advantage is the seamless connection to Anantara Dhigu Maldives Resort via a short two-minute boat shuttle, allowing guests to enjoy expanded dining options and facilities across both properties. Overall, Anantara Veli combines natural beauty, excellent service, refined gastronomy, and thoughtful management to create a truly memorable Maldivian escape. We look forward to returning

The holiday at Anantara Veli was nothing short of spectacular. Jason and David and their team have achieved the gold standard in hospitality and leisure. The sister-resort setup with Dhigu is a unique setup for the Maldives, where typically guests are bound to a single island/resort. The adult only concept of Veli enhances the calmness of the holiday, allowing you to fully relax. The resort is so well set-up that even in full occupancy, you barely feel is as the huge beach (in combination with Dhigu) creates a sense of seclusion. Anantara offers much more variety as guest of each resort could access all facilities of the other continuously from 7am to 11pm. This means a wide choice of food from 7 different restaurants and two completely different SPA setups – a land one and a overwater one. In addition, there are two more accessible islands – Moyo, which is completely naturalistic and the Picnic island, which adds to the variety. We’d like to thank our villa host Farangiz, who made our stay even better and managed to secure a sand table private dining experience for us, despite the uncertainties around the weather.

I just returned from my 18th trip to the Maldives since 2022, a destination I return to for its beauty, hospitality and unforgettable resort experiences. We chose Anantara Veli to celebrate 50 years of friendship, a very meaningful milestone. But Vacation in Anantara Veli fell seriously short of our expectations. What We Appreciated • Excellent food across both Veli and Dhigu, with great variety. Every chef truly deserve great appreciation • Outstanding spa treatments and highly skilled therapists Where the Experience Fell Short • Location and lagoon: The resort’s setting does not offer the typical Maldivian views or easy access to the ocean. The lagoon around the Ocean Pool Villas is rocky, with limited marine life and no convenient way to enter the water. Something we truly value in the Maldives. • Villa layout: Our Ocean Pool Villa felt much smaller than the size mentioned in the website and the interiors appeared dated. The pool much smaller than expected. • Butler Service: Very unprofessional. Information about activities, spa options and water sports was not proactively shared and required repeated follow‑ups. • All‑Inclusive clarity: The inclusions were not clearly explained and several food and beverage items had limitations or exclusions, which created confusion during our stay. Overall Impression While we truly enjoyed the food and spa, the resort’s location, room layout and limited lagoon access did not offer the Maldivian experience that means so much to us. We treasure the Maldives for its open water beauty and vibrant marine environment and this property didn’t align with those expectations. With clearer communication and more transparent offerings, the experience could be more fulfilling

My partner and I stayed at Anantara Veli for my birthday week and it was truly a spectacular experience. I really want to call out all the staff that made this week incredibly magical for me. Starting off with food (which is most important), we absolutely loved Cumin restaurant at Veli which had incredible and authentic dishes from India and Sri Lanka (they also accommodate dietary preferences like gluten and dairy free). We loved getting to know the staff better and where everyone is from - special shout out to Logu, Ziyan, Bokey, chef Elayaraja and chef Kranthi for making every visit to Cumin truly amazing! They were so kind and accommodating! Next up, fitness and wellness - we signed up for the PT and wellness sessions everyday - Midhun (PT) was very knowledgeable and gave us really good engaging workouts! He also customised it based on how we’re feeling on the day which really helped especially if you have a busy day ahead! Kruti from the wellness spa was really sweet and suggested really good massages and facials to try - special shout out to Derus, Aria, Irene and Ika - highly recommend them for your massages and facials! Veli has a ton of activities so you will definitely not be bored! I would recommend staying here minimum for 1 week to make best use of all the activities they have to offer. Lastly, Ali our villa host was a superman - he helped organise our schedules and was really flexible with timings. Super reliable and took all the stress of planning away! This is easily one of my best trips and I’m excited to come back soon!

We stayed here for our honeymoon and had an amazing time! A shoutout to all the staff who made our trip so special: - Bokey at Cumin who introduced us to some amazing local food each morning - Ibrahim and Ei who were so much fun and such a delight to be around. Ibrahim made our mornings so special! - All the staff at Cumin breakfast and Baan Hurra - The chef at Baan hurra. It was our favorite restaurant and was the best Thai food we’ve ever had - Cocktails at Yellowfin bar - Ismael who was our boat driver for our surf trips. He made sure I had enough water, gave me fresh coconut and then brought up ice to put on it so it wouldn’t dry out. He brought towels to the top of the boat so I wouldn’t get burned on the metal railing. He was seriously so kind and thoughtful. He went to see his family half way through our trip but we are so lucky we got to meet him and he is fantastic!!! - Leo and Flora at TropicSurf. We had so much fun with them and Leo did a fantastic job figuring out the best times to take us out. - Karim and Prem at Dohni bar - Adam the room boy - Our host Ibrahim Thanks to all who made the trip so special. We can’t wait to go back!
