The location of the hotel is around half an hour to 1 hour far from everything. So planning an activities outside the hotel, you need to keep in mind the traveling time as well. Rooms are good. Our room has direct access to the beach but you still need to walk a bit to reach the beach. Service, bad service, they don’t clean the room properly, they just make the bed and change towels. We stayed for 7 nights, from day one, electricity kept going off in the middle of the night. Air conditioner kept switching off every single day. We have complaint and nothing was done, they refused to change rooms, they wanted to give us complimentary dinner but we want to have a good night sleep not food and we were big family (7 families traveling together). The hotel is nice. Kids activities are good. Food is good (specially breakfast) and the hotel is near the hotel (10 mins) but the electricity thing ruined our stay.

Overall: Terrible service and cleanliness is not that great. While some staff were lovely, the majority are rude, indifferent and not helpful. Multiple instances we asked for recommendations and we were just handed pamphlets or told to check the app. We were never told about any activities on the resort or given any schedule. The food is no where near what a 5 star should offer, not in quality or taste. The coffee is the only acceptable thing. Anytime we needed anything we had to phone the reception multiple times to make sure it happened and we weren’t ignored. The cleanliness and state of the rooms: needs upgrade. There’s clear damage and stains on towels or bedding. The room mini bar hasn’t been dusted in years and there’s an ant infestation in the rooms. 👏🏻 The spa: avoid. Their massage was more like petting, even thought I specifically chose and highlighted a massage for knots and tension. All the spa cared about was selling me useless products rather than the service, and when they didn’t have the product I wanted they switched it out for another product without me noticing. When I took it back they tried to sell me a used half empty sample :) they did offer a massage instead for the money when I obviously said no to the samples, because they apparently “can’t refund cards”. When asked for managers, they said “they’re not here”. Props to the spa manager though, she personally found us at breakfast in the morning, apologised and personally bought the products. She was amazing. Overall, if you’re looking for value for money and a good experience, it’s not here.

Hotel Anantara is a premium villa and resort in Mauritius. The best in its class. I personally had a great soothing, reviving unforgettable experience here. The location is great great great 👍. The rooms are so spacious. You may directly feel the beach vibes and shadow of coconut trees just outside of your room's balcony. ☺️

An absolute amazing resort less than 10 minutes from the airport. Really welcoming and caring staff that go above and beyond to make sure they can help you with everything. Breakfast,Room Service food, Dinner and bar was amazing. Stayed at the beach deluxe ocean view first floor. Every single part of the hotel is spot on details, just the ones that can’t be chased at all times which is completely fine. ( little nature animals, nothing to be afraid of ). Gym facilities and spa available on site. Very organized as from my visit. In general a great stay and would highly recommend it. Some pictures are also from the 4 bedroom villa that can sleep up to 10 or 12 people ( when more beds added). Really spacious and with connection to the reception with easy access, private pool. For more info about the villa contact the resort. This is more than service you’d expect to get in Mauritius.

Amazing hotel with stunning view of the beach. If you are looking for a quiet and relaxed place you should definitely go! The food was delicious and the variety of cuisines the hotel offers is great. The buffet whether breakfast or dinner is so diverse which showcases inclusivity - from Arabic to Continental and even portraying Mauritian plates which was so interesting for us. My favorites were the “Um Ali” an Arabic sweet for breakfast and the “Haleem soup” a Mauritian soup for dinner… yummy! The chefs are all very helpful and the restaurants such as Sea, Fire, Salt offers succulent plates with a romantic vibe. If you like good food like I do, Anantara Iko surely will please you. The views are breathtaking with the crashing waves from the rooms. However, the service is not yet there for a five star hotel, which is quite sad, knowing that Anantara is known for its upscale service. Some equipments need to be maintained and furniture changed! The waiters or people at the reception are not swift enough… they lack a sense of customer oriented skill. Some are not swift enough or lack social awareness. At the spa for instance, the staff are not even fully aware of their programs or questions asked to them, same for the receptionists whom we asked questions to, we received answers not fully related to our questions. The service of the staff needs to be clearly ameliorated, they need to be better trained to work for a 5* hotel. For instance; having two or even three people at the entrance to open your car door and help with luggages instead of only one person to do everything. A nice welcome from the hotel’s butlers would also give a nice touch to a warm welcome instead of seeing all receptionist busy around without receiving greetings properly. I also believe that the pool could also be heated. Other than that the hotel is great, beautiful views, exquisite food and nice range of activities. We enjoyed our stay despite the service not being as we expected an Anantara hotel to be.
