Such a fantastic stay here! We celebrated our birthday and anniversary here and the whole team at the hotel made this such a special occasion! Everything was just perfect, from top-level service at every meal to a wonderful check-in and check-out experience. This really is what 5-star service is about—attention to detail and making luxury feel like an unassuming but essential part of your day. The staff anticipated our every need without ever being intrusive, and the atmosphere was both relaxed and refined. We left feeling completely spoiled and already can’t wait to return. Highly recommend. True Omani hospitality. Mr and Mrs Walker. (Special thanks to all the female staff at breakfast for making our baby Emilia feel so special too!)

Amazing views from the cliff side and a lovely villa. However, a horrendous nickel and dime and evidently dated hotel. We paid £900 per night for the room and the views; and it didn’t disappoint. However £9 for a cappuccino, £7 for a tonic water and £15 for a pint of beer. Just honestly taking the p*ss. Inclusive buffet doesn’t include soft drinks or coffee and they will hit you hard for it…. Really hard. Restaurants were very pleasant service but the food was below average, at least £50 per person, before drinks. The hotel is a family destination with kids everywhere, something to note if you’re NOT a family travelling. Clearly USED to be a first class hotel (why all their awards are 7-8 years old) and now run down and become a cheaper experience of skinning you for everything, which left such a sour taste in our mouths. The Chedi in Muscat was our first hotel and is streaks ahead in service, food, decor and food experience. Worth noting that our expectations were high as we spent a lot of money on the room and are staying at other top hotels in the country during our stay. No doubt the majority will love it.

We stayed at this hotel in April 2024 last year. We wanted to stay again this year but unfortunately couldn't because of the extremely expensive accommodation prices. We got daily passes. We used the pool and kids club. We had lunch at the Italian Bella Vista restaurant, which we were pleased with last year, on 2 different days. The food was great again. Waiter Anıl was very good and attentive. Just 500 Riyals per night for bed and breakfast is definitely too expensive. 600 Riyals per night with taxes is unfortunately not an acceptable price. I hope we can find a more acceptable price like last year. When I criticize the price,I am writing this as someone who has worked in 4 or 5 star brand/chain hotels in Istanbul for 18 years.

Incredible hotel!! One of our favorite stays ever. Everything was perfect - from the beautiful grounds and stunning views, to the extremely kind and hospitable staff, to the cozy and well appointed rooms. My husband and I were visiting from New York and stayed here for 3 nights in a villa with a private plunge pool, which was beautiful. We didn't want our stay to end! The food at every restaurant was delicious, and the coffee was the best we had in Oman. We also did the Via Ferrata experience which is something we'll never forget - special shoutout to Hasan for being an amazing instructor and being so patient with us! There were so many other staff members that stood out like Hassan, Rami, Rai, and Hadi. They were all so kind and helpful with anything you could possibly need. Highly recommend staying at the Anantara if you are planning on visiting Jabal Akhdar!

The rooms are slightly dated and have some annoying design flaws, and the view from our room was not nice at all despite the hotel hosting a clifftop location with what should be amazing panoramic vistas. That was an unpleasant surprise —the hotel is amidst other (ugly) structures in a proper town. It’s not remote and elegantly embedded within nature (the way that the other option, Alila, is). There’s also only one lunch option that serves Italian food, and there’s a lack of overall management, evidenced by such things like a long wait at check-in and no service around the pool—used towels strewn over the loungers and dirty food plates from previous guests, no one coming to check if you need anything, etc The major positive thing was the individual staff members and how accommodating they were in, for example, opening the kids club early so my husband and I could go on a long hike before it got too hot. The excursions—to the rose gardens/factory and sunset—were also nice. It’s a fine option for a couple nights but lacking in a few key areas.
