I was looking forward to some winter sun, blue skies and time to relax and refresh to start the new year. Upon arrival at Alua Suites the staff member who checked us in proudly told us that the hotel was full to capacity due to the lead up to New Year. We booked the My Favourite Club (MFC) adults only part of the hotel and were expecting a luxury all inclusive experience. This wasn't to be. The room was clean but basic and in need of an upgrade re décor etc. The pool area was relaxing and quiet which was welcome. The food at the restaurants were basic; we had two good dinners onsite at the a la carte restaurant. Thankfully the other nights we went into town where we had a choice of good cuisines. There was no iron/ironing board in the bedroom; the most annoying part was being told by Reception they didn't know when we would be able to get an iron as they came from an external company. That we would need to collect it ourselves and take it back ourselves..... It arrived 2 days after we requested it; Lavisha at Reception was helpful but her hands were tied in these circumstances. To conclude, this hotel falls short of what I expect of the Hyatt Brand. The customer services around the hotel is poor, old plastering falling off the front of some buildings. I've also never stayed somewhere where the food was so bad it was the small talk topic amongst all guests. This is not a place I'd recommend, we won't be returning either.

The hotel certainly was not a platinum venue which we had been advised before we departed the UK. Would help if the reception advised of the app for sheet changes pillow menu etc. The room was big and bed was good the sofa bed was comfortable but really needs updating. The food was not that great but there was a good choice if you like meat and fish, not much for vegetarians. Food could of been hotter and plates could do with being hot to put the food on as you end up eating cold food. We upgraded to the my favourite club but to be fair the only good thing about that was adult only gated area. I wouldn't recommend upgrading to this as it was nothing special. The all inclusive drinks were disappointing as there were only wine beer and limited cocktails plus soft drinks, which stopped at 11pm then you had to pay, no bars during most of the day. Did not find any entertainment during the day time. Evening entertainment was good but limited as most did not start till 9pm and then finished about 11pm. The staff in the spot bar were lovely. The restaurant staff were friendly. The adult only restaurant was very limited options especially if you have a fussy eater. Public areas were poor as you will see from the photos. Electric sockets were coming away from the walls in our room. Air-conditioning did not work. TV is hard to get to work had to retune everytime. The shopping area was easy to get to which has plenty of eating options would highly recommend Lotusun for good food hot and fresh.

I love the place. Booked for 10 days from the 9th January for 3 adults in 2 suites. My room was immaculate, our hosekeeper Loli was the best. Everything works, every light bulb in the building works, great water pressure in the room, super comfy bed. The food menu was brilliant and varied, if you can't get something to eat you're being over picky. The A la Carte restaurant was lovely. Definitely 1 of the best hotels we've done in the Canaries and we've been coming every January for the last 6-7 years. Definitely coming back next year, same resort, same hotel. Corralejo is a very vibrant busy town, even in January

An attractive hotel in a good location about 15 minutes easy walking from Corralejo town. Rooms are large and comfortable, if a bit dated. They were cleaned daily to a good standard. Gardens and grounds are exceptional and very well kept. Food is average for an all inclusive, could be better and hotter but you won't starve (depending on your tastes!) The MFC restaurant was a big disappointment; a beautiful setting and less busy than the main buffet but below average service and the choice of "speciality" main courses was not to our taste. All the wine ( red, white and rosé) is very watery and not great even in the MFC, though other drinks ( spirits) seem to be of good quality. Cocktails were sweet and sickly and served from a large jug, not individually prepared, though some people obviously enjoyed them. Service was variable and some servers need training to be more welcoming and helpful. Entertainment is quite good, the usual All Inclusive standard, nothing special, we didn't take part in any of the group activities so can't comment.This hotel is good value for money in spite of the niggles we found with food and service. Choose the MFC for a quieter stay and a better experience all round.

Fantastic hotel and staff. Two ussues though Room no sun on our balcony and tv ib rediculous place who wants to sit on a sofa and look at a bed. Food breakfast and lunch good but evening very boring. Oh for some barbeque sauce, sweet and sower sauce all the time. But generally a great hotel .
