The room was excellent, very spacious and clean. Service was fine, cleaned every day new bedding when requested. Quite a big resort, should have more signage to locate pool and restaurant areas. The location was OK. About 5 minutes walk to beach. Or a cheap taxi ride into town and beaches. (Recommend) Dinning hall is busy with people pushing in to get food and drink, Drinks are plentiful but only given small glasses to use. The atmosphere was like a school dinner hall. Hence going out to eat. You're very much left alone to do your own thing.

The hotel staff were excellent and the choice of food was varied and personally we found it delicious though I heard some say they didn't like it or some dishes were cold. As for the food being cold, we never experienced it as to those that didn't like it, can't explain that as the choice was outstanding. The rooms were clean and made up daily. The only thing that was annoying was there were never enough sun parasols. But, it didn't detract from a lovely holiday.

We've just got back from a lovely week in the Easter holidays and absolutely loved our stay at the Alua Suites. We found the hotel ideally situated for us, a lovely 15 minute beach walk into the local town, which we prefer than being in an overly busy area. It's not a massive hotel, so you're never too far from the hotel amenities. The weather was perfect, high 20s. We found the food very tasty and plentiful. There's so many options available pasta dishes, fresh fish, Spanish/Canarian dishes, roasted meats, so many different salads and mains. They also offer plain pasta, a basic tomato, pizza, chips and sometimes nuggets. The main buffet restaurant has more options than the smaller poolside restaurant. One lunchtime at the pool they had a BBQ, which was delicious. There is also a restaurant where you can book for once during a weeks stay, the food was amazing and the service was great. (Dress code men must wear trousers, also no flip flops or vest tops). There's lots of pools, the heated one is the most popular with kids and this is where they do the pool activities. It can get busy, especially with people reserving the sunbeds very early, but this calmed down after a few days and there were always beds available around the busier heated pool. There are also plenty of sunbeds available at the non heated pools and despite being a person who feels the cold I found these pools fine to swim in as did my 6 year old. These pools were quieter and more relaxing. The paddling pool and baby pool are right near the kids club, we found these ideal on days when our daughter just wanted to play in the water with friends. They're also ideally situated near the park and toilets. There toilets around hotel grounds are always clean and they all had baby changing. The kids club was amazing, Corina and Elena are brilliant with the children, my daughter cried when she had to go home and cried on the plane as she loved the kids club and mini disco so much. They have themed days at kids club which carries over to the mini disco, such as pirate day with balloon swords and treasure hunts, they clearly go to a lot of effort to make it very enjoyable for the children, my daughter made lots of friends there. They even had a talent show. We found all of the staff at the hotel very polite and helpful. We didn't watch the evening entertainment as the mini disco was on quite late at 9pm, but they had live singers most nights which sounded good. All inclusive cocktails are pre-made in large drinks dispensers behind the bar and nothing fancy but they still tasted nice. They have other cocktails that they will make but there is a charge. The pool bar drinks are on a ticket based system as they don't use disposable cups, they are multi use plastic ones, so you exchange your ticket for a drink and return your cup to get your next one, then if you don't want another drink you just ask for your ticket back. We were fine with this system. Our room was very clean and we had no issues. The beds are huge and the sofa bed my daughter had was incredibly comfy. We didn't have a view and were facing the road with some screening up, this didn't really bother us as we didn't pay for a view and were barely in the room but if you did want a view it would be wise to pay or request not to be in this area. The grounds of the hotel are very well kept, you see the gardeners and maintenance about, it is obviously well cared for. The room safe is free, no deposit for pool towels and there's a hairdryer in the bathroom. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

First time here for Christmas. Room is a bit tired but that's my only complaint. Food was outstanding the Christmas gala buffet was spectacular!! Entertainment very good staff are friendly. We found the drinks very good. The children staff were very good and the children looked like they were having fun. It's a few minutes away from beach a nice walk up to town. Overall we were very impressed and had a fabulous time.

Family-friendly hotel. Excellent rooms, really spacious. Has a laid-back appeal, very welcoming. Great facilities, helpful, friendly staff. A superb location if you are a surfer. A little further to the town centre, but on a positive note, great for increasing your step count for the day, the perfect walk!
