Almare is the definition of luxury!!! This was one of the best experiences we've ever had at an all inclusive resort. First, we need to acknowledge how amazing the staff was. The service was incredible throughout our entire stay and they were so attentive. Every single day we looked forward to seeing Karen, Alejandro, Claudia and Edgar at the beach beds/beach bar. They were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, so attentive, we never had an empty drink (lol!) and we can't wait to go back and see them. Noe and Emiliano at the front desk /concierge were also so helpful with every question we had and always did their best to find solutions quickly. Eddy, Laura, and Alan were also THE BEST!!! The amenities are top tier, loved the spa treatment, even though it was pricey it was worth every single dollar, especially being able to use the hydrotherapy services after. We also loved the food offerings, especially at the rooftop restaurant Seasalt. Definitely looking forward to our return as this ticked all of our boxes. Our only call-outs would be the music... would love to have more a vibe going on throughout. The music from the neighbouring resorts/beach clubs helped during the day but at night, would love to have something more upbeat, especially at the Lobby Bar!! Otherwise, 10/10... can't wait to go back.

This was our first time on the island and we are so happy we decided to stay on the southern side. It seemed a lot more quiet where we were. Very relaxing! This resort was 60% capacity and it felt like we pretty much had it to ourselves, besides seeing a few couples. We absolutely loved the beach side service- Edgar, Cara, and Claudia were so prompt and attentive. Claudia remembered our names the first time we introduced ourselves to her, she was absolutely marvelous. :) The beach was really clean, and we were able to see some different marine life in the water right off of the deck! There were paddle boards and snorkeling gear you could borrow as well. There were two main restaurants- Seasalt (rooftop) and Boga. We ate at both several times and the food was so good! We really enjoyed the pizza at Seasalt. We tried almost everything on the menus for dinner and we were not disappointed one time.. except I wasn't a big fan of the shrimp risotto and that's ok. I asked for something else and was promptly given it. The portions are smaller so we ordered several things and shared. During breakfast we went to Boga and they had a buffet but the French toast and chia pudding with fresh juice off the menu was my favorite! We usually ate beach side for lunch. They had a food truck and Boga. The fresh ceviche, guac, and and shrimp tempura tacos were seriously the best from Boga. I think I ate that almost everyday. The drinks were on par and the lobby had a bar where we mostly hung out after dinner and had drinks. Joseph and Rafael were the bartenders/mixologists and they were a lot of fun! Joseph was knowledgeable about the different liquors and enjoyed telling us about the tequilas and mixing us drinks or tasting shots. Housekeeping did a wonderful job and they arranged and organized our toiletries and shoes very nicely. Room service was also great. They were fast and the food was hot. We ordered steak and fries smothered in gravy, which was delicious! The burger was also really good. I can't say anything badly about any of the staff. They were all very accommodating and friendly. As far as safety goes, the island itself was super safe and you could go out any time of the day. We walked several places and there was staff at the end of the driveway to a gate where they check you in and out. We has access to a taxi anytime and they would come within a couple of minutes. We did have a few hiccups but they were very small in the grand scheme of things and how good of a time we had there. Our first night we arrived pretty late as we had delays so we ended up ordering room service around midnight and waited an hour or so until we called again and they said they never received the order. But after that, they came within 20 minutes. Another incident happened when the shower handle fell off and we had asked for them to fix it 3 times because they didn't put the maintenance order in and then when we went and talked to the front desk before dinner for the final time, they were very apologetic and fixed it promptly. Again, this wasn't a huge deal to us as they did fix it and we are pretty laid back. One other thing I recommend doing is booking through expedia because it provided taxi service and ferry tickets to get there. The resort does offer taxi and ferry service but their ferry was not operating the whole time we were there and it would have been the same ferry we were taking anyway. So it was just a lot more convenient for us to have the taxi have our names on a sign and have our ferry tickets purchased for us which the taxi driver handed us. Just worked better for us. We really enjoyed our stay and the staff!!!

We stayed over the thanksgiving holiday, and I would definitely return. It’s a quiet, peaceful resort, of course you can always meet people and hang at the bar, but there’s no overly dramatic day parties and ragers here which I preferred for this trip. Due to an issue with another room, we ended up in the presidential suite which was insane, however I think it’s way overpriced at $4k a night, there is no liquor or wine in the rooms, just beer, and there was a small lizard living in the master bathroom (not a huge deal to me, I know it’s a tropical environment, but if I was actually paying $4k a night I’d be mad). Also it’s just a tad run down, I incorrectly assumed this was a year old new build and it’s only a year old purchase for Marriott. I get the resort not being packed, and it’s challenging getting supplies to the island, but they were running out of a lot of basics like cup lids and almond milk by the last day, my husband and I kept asking “is this luxury?” It’s reallllly close. The reason for my 5 stars is the TEAM here. From start to finish, every single team member we encountered was courteous and helpful, there are some amazing people working here, and it just feels like the owner is likely cutting the corners, but it doesn’t show on the team. Also I thought the food was great! Only meal we didn’t love was ironically the thanksgiving one 😆, but the beachside tacos, the ceviche, the pork belly tostones, all chefs kiss. And the BEACH!! It’s been a minute since I’ve been to a place with such calm clear waters, and there’s a few rocks but you definitely don’t need water shoes. Venture off resort via golf cart, it’s so worth it. If you’re looking for a nice quiet resort with an incredible team, this is it, they went above and beyond for us

I left the hotel a couple of days ago and can’t stop thinking back. One of my best stays ever. Very good food, welcoming check in service, excellent service - we specially connected with Pedro and his colleague Andrea, lovely people. Pedro took really good care of us! Everything is so pretty, quiet and luxurious. We had a great honeymoon. I was also very happy with the daily activities, especially the yoga and the art craft class. Ok maybe one thing to mention, I noticed someone else also mentioned it, but the girl working in the coffee shop.. maybe she doesn’t want to work there at all? I was a bit scared of her and her attitude every time I went in there to order something, mostly I sent my husband instead. But other than that 5/5!

This resort was absolutely everything we were looking for during our stay on Isla Mujeres. We stayed at the end of November and it was SO quiet. Very relaxing, the service was phenomenal and the food was all delicious. We would definitely stay here again if we come back to the island. If you are looking for a busier evening life scene, it's about a 20 min drive to Playa Norte where most of the shops, restaurants and bars are. However, we only planned to spend a small portion of our trip off the resort so this wasn't a problem for us. We rented a golf cart one day and took cabs the other days. A cab from the resort to Playa Norte is about $12.
