Rooms aren't perfect, but repainted and clean. Maybe they should have a liitle bit more sunbeds, but nearby is beach. Food is good. People here are amazing. And barmans Ali and Panos are the best!!! 😎

In arrival I was pleasantly surprised that food was kept for my late arrival. Following this cut my finger in the uneven banister down to the pool area from the reception. The buffet was below expectations, food was cold at the start of service times, the options were nearly same every day, the deserts were great on the first day, same dessers 2nd day tasted stale.the pizza snack bar was uncovered and as started at 10am and finished at 6pm was open to inserts and bugs that were flying around.

We stayed in Agia Pelagia and intentionally chose this place for our holiday. It's close to Heraklion and the beaches, yet peaceful, and everything you need is right there. We stayed at Alexander House which turned out to be a very good place for a family holiday. It's reasonably priced and offers good value for money. Not too expensive, but very good at the same time! The hotel was clean, the food was excellent and varied, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Our room was spacious, light and very modern. The rooms were cleaned daily. The pool is large, with both deep and shallow areas, making it suitable both for adults and for children. The beach is a short walk from the hotel and there are several tavernas, bars, shop, two car rental companies and a sightseeing tour agency are located nearby (on the same street). In fact, everything you need for your holiday is very close to Alexander House, which is great! We ate twice at Nikolas tavern (just outside the hotel), which may be simple and straightforward, but serves authentic Cretan food. What can I say? Fresh ingredients, great food and friendly service! Nefeli is a nice bar if you're looking for a place to relax with a cocktail. There's also a sightseeing agency called Crete.life nearby; we went on three day trips in Crete and Santorini with them and they picked us up from the hotel, which was very convenient. The overall atmosphere was great, with friendly staff who went above and beyond to make our vacation special. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, whether you're travelling alone or with a family. It's a lovely, quiet village with a relaxing hotel.

I visited Agia Pelagia with a group of colleagues from the UK. We stayed at Alexander House which is a good place for family holidays but visiting with friends was a good experience too. The rooms are modern, clean and spacious with good quality mattresses. My friends opted for an all inclusive holiday and as expected there was plenty of food, drinks and snacks throughout the day. The dinning room is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner at specific times. Freshly baked pizza is available throughout the day as well as cocktails and softdrinks. The hotel managers and all staff were warm and accommodating. They function as a family and tend to be informal. An electrician was called as soon as I reported an air-conditioning fault and I was given a different room for one night until the repairs were completed. The cleaning lady provided us with additional towels and toiletries. The pool is of a good size and there is a smaller one for kids. The area around the pool offers umbrellas and loungers and tends to be relatively busy throughout the day. However, the sea is only a minute away.

Is this a luxurious 5* hotel? No. Would we return? Absolutely!!! We didn’t expect a lot as the prices are very attractive and you usually get what you pay for. But we were so pleasantly surprised. Everything from arrival to departure was perfect. Extremely friendly staff. Nothing was too much or a problem. Holidaying with a toddler has it’s challenges, but not in this place! Good rooms, amazing sea view, great variety of food and snacks throughout the day, 4mins walk from the beach with local mini markets and shops just 5-10 min away. We had a lovely family weekend, thank you all for going above and beyond to make it special!
