So the girls who work reception try their best under rude management. When we were checking in the manager was rude to the employees. When we wanted to late check out due to a buggy breaking down on our tour the manager (Stefi!) said it would not be possible and they would charge us for a late checkout. I asked her what will be done with the stuff in the room and she said we needed to come now and collect it. I said it’s not possible we are stuck on a tour due to a breakdown. In the end we got to the hotel and were helped by a lovely lady called Yasmina who sorted it all out so we could check out late and shower in the bedroom. Thank you Yasmina. As for Stefi I suggest you learn how to speak to customers in a decent and helpful way! Shame as I stay regularly in Lopesan hotels and have had nothing but a good experience. This one I will never go to again! Update after the response. They obviously didn’t read the review as it was not the availability that was the issue it was the rudeness of the manager Stefy.

4/5 – Family stay, Summer 2024 If you are planning a stay at Abora Buenaventura by Lopesan Hotels, here is an important note regarding the pool area. The biggest downside we experienced was the situation with the sunbeds. Every morning, many guests placed towels on sunbeds as early as 7–8 AM and left for hours, sometimes returning only after lunch. My suggestion to the hotel: As a guest, I would recommend introducing a refundable towel-deposit system. Guests would “rent” towels and return them at checkout to get their deposit back. This would prevent towels from being left on sunbeds all day and ensure that everyone can enjoy the pool fairly. Implementing such a system could greatly improve the poolside experience and make the hotel even more enjoyable. Aside from this issue, we had a wonderful family holiday. The hotel is family-friendly, with plenty of activities for children. The all-inclusive food was excellent, with a wide variety of dishes. The staff were kind and helpful, and the atmosphere was very welcoming. Our room was cleaned daily, always spotless, and well maintained. The evening entertainment was a highlight of our stay. We especially loved the Freddie Mercury/Queen tribute performance — absolutely fantastic! We have many videos and unforgettable memories from that show. The hotel is about a 10–15 minute walk to the beach, even with a stroller, which was perfectly manageable. The hotel itself is a bit older, but well maintained and comfortable. A minor note about drinks: many cocktails were pre-mixed and not very impressive, and the coffee included in the all-inclusive was average. However, you could purchase high-quality coffee or other drinks at the bar for a small extra fee. Despite the sunbed issue, we had a truly enjoyable family holiday. The combination of excellent food, fun activities for children, entertainment, and a clean, welcoming environment made our stay memorable. We would recommend this hotel to families looking for a relaxing and fun holiday. With a better sunbed system, it could easily achieve an even higher rating.

I just returned back after spending a week at this hotel, which I would recommend especially for families. This hotel, l believe was 2 separate hotels now joined together making a very large hotel.it offers a very large supermarket, gym and a self service laundry with Washing machines and a tumble dryer. This hotel his a disabled friendly, allocateing sunbeds and tablets in the restaurant for those who are disabled like myself. There is aslo adult friendly areas. Food / always plenty available and plenty of choice but it all frozen and some of the friut was not the best. Snack bar/ always plenty available. Rooms/ clean daily and fresh. Staff friendly and helpful.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel during my trip to Gran Canaria. From the moment I arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The staff were incredibly welcoming, professional, and always ready to help with a smile. Check-in was smooth, and I felt at home right away. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and well-equipped with everything I needed. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed, daily housekeeping, and the beautiful view from the balcony – waking up to the ocean view was a highlight of my stay! The hotel’s location is fantastic – close to the beach, local restaurants, and many great spots for exploring the island. It’s a perfect base whether you're here to relax or go on adventures. The breakfast buffet was generous and delicious, with plenty of fresh options every morning. The pool area was also a big plus – clean, well-maintained, and ideal for unwinding after a day of sightseeing. What truly made this place stand out was the relaxing atmosphere and the attention to detail in every aspect of service. It’s clear the team here cares about guests having a great experience. I would definitely return and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Gran Canaria. Thank you for a memorable stay!

We got given a different room to what was advertised. The beds are single beds that are on wheels so the beds move about, it was our first couple holiday and we had to sleep in seperate beds for 10 days lol. We paid for all inclusive and only ever ate breakfast there as the food choices were terrible. The buffet food consists of everything left over from breakfast, even under the hot heaters come 4pm, at one point there was 5 trays of croissants in the “buffet” (there is proof in the pictures below, you only see 4 trays in the picture but there WAS 5, SHOOKETH TO THE CORETH I WAS) I wouldn’t mind but the croissants wasnt even nice 🥲 they were borderline soggy. Even the burnt ones, how can a burnt croissant be soggy?! How😭 Please, see for yourself in the pictures. Every day is the same food. They have 2 hot counters but both sides serve the exact same food, they have a tonne of sliced cheeses though ! I only really got pictures of breakfast and the buffet as we ate out every single evening because the food choices were just terrible and I was so underwhelmed I just felt sad every time I was at the hotel lol. The drinks all came from a machine that was free, if you wanted fresh cocktails or fresh coffee you had to pay extra. They provide you with a safe but you have to pay extra to use it ?! And claim that if anything goes missing in your room that isn’t in the safe that it’s not their responsibility. You have to pay a £20 deposit for towel hire and then pay a Euro for each towel you hire. I don’t know, some people might love it but as a first couples holiday and someone looking to try a variety of FRESH food then I wouldn’t bother with this one!
