Jump the queue and check in from anywhere with the Malaysia Airlines online service. This is available from 48 hours to 90 minutes before your flight, with the option to either print out your boarding pass or send it to your mobile phone. To check in online, please head over to the Malaysia Airlines official website and click the Travel Info tab, then Web check in. The website requires your airline booking reference number or e-ticket number – please use the airline booking reference, which is listed as ‘airline check-in reference number’ on your Travel Vouchers and Tickets document from Destination2 under Your Flights. You also need to specify the last name of the lead passenger on the booking and click on ‘Check me in’. Please note that if you are trying to access online check in more than 48 hrs prior to departure, you may not be able to retrieve the booking.

Select your seat* as early as possible to get the one you want, and to avoid sitting separately from family or friends. You can select your seats* once your flights have been paid in full and they have been issued (ticketed)**You can select your seats* via the Malaysia Airlines official website by selecting the My Booking tab. To access your booking, you need the surname of the lead passenger and the airline check-in reference number, which you will find on your Travel Vouchers and Tickets document from Destination2 under Your Flights. Please note that if your flights have not been ticketed** you won’t be able to retrieve and access your booking. Once in the booking, scroll to the section which is just under the Passenger Details called ‘Elevate your travel experience’. Find Seat selection and click on the (+) plus icon to open the seating plan and follow the instructions to select the seats you prefer.

Wheelchair requests must be made at least 48 hours prior to departure online by logging into your booking on the official Malaysia Airlines website. Through your booking, you could also request assistance if any passenger has visual, hearing or speech impairment. Once your flights have been issued/ticketed** please head over to the Malaysia Airlines website and onto the My Booking tab. Middle names are not required for travel, and therefore do not need to be on your booking. You can, however, add middle name(s) to the secure flight information (API) when completing your online check-in before departure. First and last names must match the identification documents being used for travel. Additionally, if you have a hyphen or apostrophe in your name, in your booking and e-ticket the names will appear joined together as the airline reservation systems can't show the hyphen/apostrophe. The same happens with double-barrelled names or spaces between two names. Airport security and passport control staff are familiar with this and there is no need to worry about it. If you entered multiple first names, or multiple family names for a passenger, it is entirely normal for the names on the ticket to be joined together, even if you had entered them separately when booking online. For example: If you entered Mr John Adam Smith when booking online, your ticket will show the name as SMITH/JOHNADAMMR. This is standard airline industry practice, and you will not experience any issues.
