We’ve returned to Renaissance Phuket for the third time - and it keeps getting better. This resort is truly exceptional, with an incredible tropical setting and beautifully maintained grounds. Many of the rooms have recently been renovated, giving the hotel an even more stylish and modern feel. We stayed in a villa this time, and it was absolutely stunning - also freshly renovated, with a private fenced-in area that created a sense of total privacy and peace. There are several pools on the property, including a dedicated kids’ pool, and the hotel organizes daily activities for guests. One of our favorites was the marshmallow roasting by the fire pit on the beach from 5 to 6 PM - such a fun and cozy experience. Breakfasts here are truly a highlight, with fresh salmon, delicious eggs Benedict, and a wide variety of other options like a ice cream or chocolate fountain that make mornings feel like a celebration. An outstanding resort we’re always happy to return to!

This was my second stay at Renaissance Phuket, and it just keeps getting better! I was pleasantly surprised with an upgraded room this time — beautifully spacious, modern, and super comfortable. The little touches made all the difference, from the high-quality linens to the amazing view. The staff were just as friendly and attentive as I remembered, making check-in smooth and welcoming. Everything was spotless, and the atmosphere around the hotel is calm yet stylish — perfect for relaxing after a long day. I’m already looking forward to my next visit. Our stay at Renaissance Phuket was absolutely wonderful! The villa was stunning—beautifully designed and spotlessly clean. The common areas were lovely and created a very relaxing atmosphere. I felt so happy after a long time. My wife and I had one of the best days at this property. The warmth of staff, the food, the property everything was top notch. While leaving the property there was eyes full of tears and heart heavy because this place made me fall in love with the kind of hospitality and detailings. Bad Experience – Would Not Recommend I arrived at the resort and was disappointed by the poor reception and clear lack of trust in guests. I asked to temporarily exchange $100 for 660 baht to pay for a taxi, as I had run out of cash and only had money on my card. My request was unjustifiably rejected, even though it was a basic and reasonable need. I let it go. Later, I asked if I could sign for bills during my stay, like in any proper resort. Instead, they told me I had to deposit cash upfront and they’d deduct from it — an inconvenient and outdated system. But the worst part? While sitting in the lobby being served a welcome drink, I found an insect inside the juice. Absolutely unacceptable. It reflects poor hygiene and serious negligence.

Family holiday Stayed for 6 days and we really enjoyed our whole stay in this beautiful resort. We celebrated my daughter’s 3rd birthday and JW Marriott made her birthday extra special they even decorated our room with balloons, cake and a birthday card. The breakfast was awesome like they even have fresh fruits and I always get a fresh apple and carrot juice still being healthy while on vacation, there’s plenty of food options. Amenities like kids club, outdoor kids pool etc. the restaurants were really a great touch inside the resort. The staff were all friendly, caring and welcoming. Thanks to Oy who helped us booked our tour. The manager on duty May who assisted to move us to a new room since I have requested a quieter room for my daughter and even gave us a complimentary drinks. Hut and Minnie from the steakhouse restaurant who surprised my daughter with another birthday cake. It was really a great experience staying here in a family friendly resort. The front beach was really amazing unfortunately the current was strong during our stay. Just bring mosquito repellent and you’ll be fine. I will definitely recommend this resort.

I wish I could give this resort more than five stars. They made my family feel welcome. They did an amazing job with my daughters wedding.. The staff were attentive and friendly. They remembered our names and room numbers to ensure we were seated together during breakfast. They set up a birthday location and a birthday party for my eight year-old, which she loved. I cannot give this resort enough praises.

The most perfect family vacation resort! Our family with 3 young children had an unforgettable time here. The resort is huge with everything you need for the perfect family vacation. Fun activities were scattered around the resort and they also have a small turtle shelter where the kids can engage in turtle feeding daily. There are also cool performances like sunset rituals and fire dancing. There is a fun water slide at the pool and one area of the pool is very shallow and perfect for young kids to splash around. The location is a bit far away from the center but we were happy to mostly stay in the resort. The most exceptional part of our experience was the warm and out of this world service. We were always greeted with friendly smiles and the staff always interacted so kindly with our young children, even when they were acting wild or having a tough time. A server offered to hold my baby or feed her when we were struggling with lunch and a staff at the pool ran over to adjust the beach umbrella so my baby wouldn’t be in the sun during her nap. I was really impressed by how attentive and caring the staff were. At the end of our trip my son did not want to leave and said he wanted to live at this resort! We had a fantastic time and look forward to returning.

Review for JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa My stay at JW Marriott Phuket was truly exceptional! The experience was amazing from start to finish. The resort is extremely safe, impeccably clean, and perfectly maintained. The location is well-serviced and ideal for families and honeymooners alike. Although it’s about an hour away from the city center, the peaceful atmosphere and luxurious surroundings more than make up for it. The only thing I wish was available is lifeguards at the swimming pools — that would add an extra layer of safety. What truly made the stay unforgettable was the outstanding service, warm hospitality, and the variety of high-quality food and drinks. The staff were incredibly kind, professional, and always willing to help. I can’t put into words how much I appreciated their efforts to make everything perfect. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a serene and upscale retreat in Phuket!

Today, we took the path to the beach through JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa. The weather was beautiful again, just like the past three days. I’d say the weather has truly supported our walks lately. We stopped for photos at M Beach Club and the beachfront bar. From there, we could see the lush green of the garden, the bright blue sky, and the crystal-clear sea, it was such a refreshing and fun walk today!

Buggy tour of the estate was provided when we checked-in, they also provide buggy to beach as our pool villa was further in, service staff was friendly, room big and spacious, good breakfast spread with honeycomb, house keeping was excellent. Not enough towel hooks in toilet, shower drainage slow, rain shower poor and old, sewage smell along path in estate, beach pool and restaurant were under renovation and we were notified before our trip, not wheelchair or baby stroller pram friendly as there are many steps including at entrance of the villa. Overall old charm, if that is what you like. Saving grace was Turtle Village beside the resort where there were more food options and a pharmacy. Service is still their best attribute, we felt welcome during our stay. Will continue to visit other Anantara resorts.

Definitely one of the best villas that I've ever stayed in! Stayed at the One Bedroom Pool Villa, and it was an incredible experience. The villa was spacious, beautifully designed with a blend of modern comfort and traditional Thai elements, making it feel both luxurious and authentic. The private pool and serene atmosphere made it the perfect escape — quiet, peaceful, and truly private. The only downside is the resort is situated very far away from Phuket city. The staff were exceptional, always warm, attentive, and helpful throughout the stay. Breakfast at Taurus could use a bit more variety, but their lunch was delicious and definitely worth trying. Overall, a fantastic stay. If you’re looking for a tranquil getaway with top-notch service, Anantara Mai Khao is highly recommended!

Wow just incredible hotel resort, one of the best I have ever had the pleasure to stay at. My wife and I stayed only one night for our anniversary and we loved it. The room was a large size, spacious and luxurious. The attention to detail was incredible, there was nothing that was not thought about for their customers stay. The service from the staff on arrival right up to check-out time was truly wonderful. The customers experience is the resorts highest priority. We absolutely loved our stay and highly recommend to couples or families to consider a stay here as well. We will return for a longer stay with our family agin in the near future.

The best hotel I visited in Thailand. The service was amazing. I had a very early flight and I was able to get a check-in at 10 AM. The room was clean. Turn down device is available and the spa is amazing! I had a a life changing massage there! Although the hotel is very large a shuttle is always available and my breakfast was very good. Thank you

We travel to Thailand regularly and have stayed at many high-end resorts across the country – but Anantara Mai Khao Phuket Villas truly stands out. Our villa was stunning, offering complete privacy, refined design, and breathtaking views. The level of service was outstanding: discreet, professional, and always attentive. A special mention goes to POR the concierge assigned to us, who was available at all times and supported us perfectly, even helping with personal arrangements like organizing a private diving tour. This was already our second stay – and certainly not the last. If you're looking for true relaxation in an exceptional setting, this is the place.

Seriously if you want to go to some adventure or water park, its more reasonable to stay here in the resort than to buy ticket for entry. Kids and adults will love it equally with so exciting rides, zero queues and total hygiene and cleanliness. The property itself is so beautiful with its on private beach and magnificent infinity pool. Rooms were good enough, nothing special. But everyone should atleast stay for one day in this resort. Avoid going between July and September though because the water park is being renovated.

I’m very impressed with hospitality and generosity. All staff are polite and helpful. I forgot my stuff in the room after checking out. They keep my stuff nicely and offer solutions for sending it back to me. I really appreciate it. Also, Restaurant in the hotel is excellent, many selection of breakfast. Chilling at the pool by the beach view is amazing. Location is convenient. There are many restaurants, massages, and convenient stores nearby.

Rooms are fantastic. Staff at resort are amazing so good to be understood and staff that are helpful. Let us have early check in st no additional cost also provided extra pillows as a request made prior to arrival. Shuttle buses that go everywhere at resort and they are never far away. Drivers also very very friendly and funny. The splash park is a bit old. The pool with jets and bubbles the tiles are all broken can easily cut your feet. Also no jets or bubbles, not working. Was nice not having to queue up for slides. You are paying theme park prices for things inside here. Towels additional cost not allowed to bring in.

A fantastic family-friendly resort right by the beach! Splash Beach Resort offers spacious rooms, a great water park, and direct beach access. The kids will love the slides and pools, while adults can unwind by the sea or enjoy the relaxing spa. Just minutes from the airport, it’s a perfect blend of convenience, comfort, and fun in Phuket.

We stayed at this resort in 2019 and had such a fantastic experience that we decided to return in July 2025, even pushing our holiday budget to do so. We chose this resort specifically because of the onsite water park — it’s what sets this place apart and why we were willing to pay a premium compared to other options in Phuket. We booked 3 rooms back in March and even confirmed at the time that water park access was included. Just one month before check-in, we were informed the water park would be closed for maintenance during our stay. This was devastating — the entire trip was planned around taking our children to this water park. We immediately requested a refund, which was denied as the booking was “non-refundable.” In my opinion, this is completely unethical — the resort failed to deliver on a major feature that was central to our booking decision and one they continued to advertise. I refuse to believe this maintenance was planned at such short notice, which is what the hotel claimed. Without the water park, the property is isolated and nothing special. Yes, the room upgrade we were given as compensation was beautiful — and that’s the only real positive. The food and beverage credits didn’t go far, and the food was average at best. We were also offered a complimentary driver to Phuket Town, but this turned into a frustrating experience. The driver dropped us on the side of the road near Central Phuket Shops — nowhere near Phuket Town — and couldn’t communicate with us. We had to pay for our own taxi to reach the correct location and return. To make matters worse, we were told to be ready for pickup at 8:30 PM, but the driver didn’t arrive until 9:00 PM. This delay with two tired young children (aged 5 and 9) was unacceptable. When we checked in, we were asked to provide a cash-only deposit — no credit card accepted. As we had just landed and didn’t have cash on hand, I was forced to leave my passport at the front desk, which felt extremely uncomfortable. This is definitely something guests should be warned about in advance. The on-site spa is incredibly overpriced — over $100 AUD for a massage. If you walk just outside the gate, there are plenty of massage places where we received 5 massages for $130 AUD total — much better value. Even small things were disappointing. The kids club advertises art and craft activities in the lift, and my son was very excited to join the “Rubik’s Cube” session at 4 PM. We dropped him off at that time, but staff told him it had already been done earlier. No explanation, no update — he was understandably upset. To make it all worse, we had to walk past the closed water park every single day of our stay — a daily reminder of what our children had been counting down the months for, and what the resort failed to deliver. It left a real cloud over our trip. I find it deeply disappointing that this hotel refused to refund us so we could give our children the experience we had promised them. Buffet breakfast was okay — lots of variety and regularly restocked — but the food quality was average. Check-out was the final frustration. Our key stopped working 30 minutes before check-out time, and we were locked out of our room, waiting outside for over 10 minutes to be let back in. Then, during check-out, a staff member accused us of ordering a fruit platter to the room. We hadn’t. Every room service item we ordered was through the hotel’s own app — so we had a record. The hotel presented a receipt with a scribbled signature that didn’t match any of ours. We ended up leaving the hotel a full hour after check-out time, unnecessarily delayed and annoyed. Overall, this stay really tainted the wonderful memories we had of this resort. We’ve raved about it to family and friends in Australia for years, and as someone who works in tourism, I’ve even referred clients here — but never again. We won’t return, and we’ll be warning anyone who asks to book elsewhere.
