It’s a beautiful location—the grounds are stunning, the room was great, and the pools have incredible views. Unfortunately there are children EVERYWHERE. Too many visiting parents are indifferent to parenting. Weirdly no shade to be found at either pool, despite both being quite large. Guests were much less kind to staff compared to other resorts (some tourists don’t understand societal rules). The staff was much less skilled with service/language compared to Layana. The food was fine and the cocktails are stuck in the early 2000s. I’d gladly stay at an adult-only resort with much less amenities.

Beautiful resort with amazing staff and facilities. Our villa was serviced twice a day, great buffet breakfast with a la carte options, many activities included (fitness classes, kayaking, massage classes etc.), multiple restaurants to choose from, beautiful infinity pool, free buggy service within the property - couldn’t fault anything with our stay. Great value considering the quality of the resort and service provided. Our stay also included airport transfers to / from the resort (about 1.5-2.5hrs each way). Highly recommend spending at least 4 nights here to make the most of the resort and the surrounding island(s). Everything can be requested / ordered within the Pimalai app (booking buggies, booking fitness classes, asking for extra toiletries etc.) and the staff were always responding immediately. Really hope to be able to make it back again one day.

We absolutely loved our stay at Pimalai Hotel! The resort’s serene location in the quiet south of the island, adjacent to the Mu Ko Lanta National Park, provided an ideal setting for relaxation. Our recently renovated room was elegant and comfortable, featuring a beautiful balcony with stunning sea views. The attentive and genuinely friendly staff elevated our experience. Other highlights included tennis sessions with their skilled trainer, walks through the resort's lush, beautifully maintained grounds on the way to breakfast, stand-up paddleboarding, and enjoying sunset drinks. Additionally, wonderful restaurants and massage spots can be found along the gorgeous beach, and there's a small village just a short walk or shuttle ride away, offering everything you might need. Highly recommended for couples seeking a tranquil, luxurious getaway.

The best staff out of any place I have stayed. So attentive and thoughtful. When I’d walked up the stairs and was v hot one breakfast - one of the staff, Nancy, noticed and came up to our table with a lovely cold towel. Then when I’d said I loved a certain Thia curry the waiter made sure that I could have it the following night. This attention to detail is unlike anywhere I have stayed. The rooms are wonderful and the infinity pool was gorgeous. We went off season which was perfect as the hotel and local village were not too crowded. A seamlessly fantastic stay from start to finish. 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The staff service is top-notch. The room is spacious, clean, and very cozy—perfect for a peaceful getaway. This hotel is ideal for those looking to relax and escape the hustle and bustle. It’s beautifully designed, with attentive staff and a quiet atmosphere. There are no nightlife spots nearby, so it’s not crowded or chaotic like in Samui—making it ideal for a serene retreat.

I had the best experience with my wife our honeymoon that we will never forget in this resort. The place is like heaven in earth and location for the hotel is inside the jungle. No bugs inside the room, it was all very clean . The service was so friendly and kind to us all the trip from hello to good bye. And the food for breakfast was great and tasty so many options. You get free activities there like kayaking and snorkeling. I really recommend it this one if you can afford it .

We recently stayed at Rayavadee and were truly impressed by the overall experience. The resort is stunning—its location is one of the most beautiful we've seen, surrounded by breathtaking scenery, lush nature, and vibrant wildlife. The decor and design blend perfectly with the natural surroundings, creating a peaceful and luxurious atmosphere. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. From the moment we arrived, they were attentive, kind, and genuinely committed to making our stay comfortable. We especially appreciated how the housemaids took care of our pavalion twice a day with meticulous attention to detail—absolutely exceptional service. There were just two downsides to our experience. First, the prices at the restaurants felt quite high, especially considering the food didn’t match the level of the resort. For example, the margarita pizza and burger we had were underwhelming for the price. Second, the bed situation was disappointing—two king-size beds were pushed together, which made for a massive but uncomfortable sleeping experience. Unfortunately, it affected our sleep quality, and we both struggled to rest well throughout our stay. Despite these issues, we loved our time at Rayavadee and would recommend it for the setting, service, and unique atmosphere. With a few adjustments, it could easily be a perfect getaway.

I just wanted to say that our stay at your resort was absolutely phenomenal. From the moment we arrived at the airport until the moment we were dropped off by the boat everything was top notch and without issue. Your team’s level of service and commitment to making sure your guests feel more like family than customers is without equal. I especially appreciated the gentleman who without question went to search for my sunglasses I lost by the beach. I never got his name, but he definitely deserves a promotion! Your whole team has went above and beyond to make sure we all were well taken care of and it will never be forgotten. We will always doing your praise to anyone who asks about your facility or its grounds. Without hesitation your resort will always be our top choice. Here’s to your stellar facility, services, and environment. Your team have made us customers for life. Ps thank you to whomever allowed us the return trip use of your boat even though we opted to try a rival resort for our final day of our stay it was a mistake we won’t make again! I recently stayed at Rayavadee and it was truly unforgettable. The experience starts with a boat ride in and out of the resort since it’s only accessible by water, which made it feel extra special. As we were departing, the staff even waved goodbye from the dock, just like in White Lotus, which was such a sweet and memorable touch. The resort itself is stunning. The Grotto restaurant, set inside a cave right on the beach, offered incredible views and a really unique dining experience. All the restaurants served amazing food, and the breakfast spread was top notch. The pool was beautiful and relaxing, and the staff made transportation for excursions super easy. The grounds are lush and filled with wildlife. We even saw monkeys swinging from tree to tree. Everything about the stay felt peaceful, scenic, and well thought out. 10 out of 10 would recommend.

This resort is in a perfect location where guests can enjoy amazing views of the sea, cliffs, and small islands. The landscaping within the resort is also very well maintained, allowing guests to appreciate the tropical forest and local wildlife. The staff are also very friendly and welcoming. HOWEVER, I cannot say that the room condition meets 5-star hotel standards. I completely understand that being surrounded by forest means you might see some ants or small lizards inside. But finding dozens of bugs inside the wardrobe and on my clothes was truly shocking. I'm worried these bugs might have hitched a ride back to my home even though the hotel staff offered to do the laundry. After seeing them crawling on my clothes, I completely lost my appetite and couldn't sleep. The hotel did arrange for cleaning and laundry service, but they did not offer to change the room. I understand you should expect some insects when traveling in Southeast Asia, but not at this level in a 5-star hotel room. I'm not paying two or three times the usual price to sleep with bugs.

This was a 2 night stay at end of a wonderful trip. We Wanted to stay somewhere different in KS. The hotel does have a beautiful pool and lovely grounds but it is far away from anywhere..you cannot walk to other eateries or Choeng Mon village. You have to take taxis. Choeng Mon beach is gorgeous and we had a lovely meal there but had to taxi-ditto Fisherman’s village. Melati puts 10% on all its food and drinks therefore a v simple lunch was the cost of a meal on Koh Pha-Ngan! No happy hour. The staff were nice and can’t fault the breakfast offerings which were generous and plentiful. The room was ok-terrible pillows-but not sound proofed and the bathroom was oversized and very hot. We got a deal through Agoda and it was nice to laze by the pool and swim at their little beach but I would not return. Far better value elsewhere.

Everything about our stay was amazing! There are 2 communal pools, one is in the middle of the resort and very calm, the other is by the beach and has the pool bar where the majority of the guests go. The accommodation was beautiful, we had our own pool and I loved the outdoor shower! The staff went above and beyond, nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation and private pool were cleaned daily and there were daily sweet treats left for us. The food was delicious. There was a lot of choice for the buffet breakfast, Continental and Asian options. The resort has two restaurants, both served outstanding food by outstanding staff. We would definitely go back.

I think I understand the broad range of reviews for this hotel. I suspect that those who give it top ratings don't have much experience in 5-star hotels. If you're not accustomed to the kind of detailed perfection in a proper 5-star establishment you might mistake Melati for top quality. Having said that, it was a very nice hotel, with some great facilities. Many details, however, were not quite to standard. The staff were generally very helpful, though they were also generally very young and perhaps a little inexperienced. The front reception need to be impeccable. Fully knowledgeable, attentive, and eager to help. Unfortunately, they were not this. They were friendly, but disengaged, often more interested in their own conversations than attending to customers. There must be a kind of 'tropical entropy' in places like Koh Samui. Everything is in a constant state of falling apart in the heat and humidity. The staff did a wonderful job of keeping up with the gardens; sweeping, pruning, etc. Every morning the grounds looked like new, and there was constant work to maintain the trees and plants. The same could not be said of the villas and rooms themselves. Everything was on the edge of breaking, with some things actively doing so. It feels like a hotel that would have been amazing about 7 years ago. They haven't really kept up with the maintenance. A great example of the 'not quite good enough’ was the gym. It is a miserable little affair. The equipment is old, needing repair or replacement. The space itself is tired. In fact, that would be the best description for the hotel as a whole; a little bit tired. Towels that are approaching threadbare, sink plugs that don't work, moldy woodwork in the shower (all pictured); many things were just a little half-arsed. No doubt it is a hotel that requires a LOT of maintenance. Unlike a large high-rise facility, the individual villas would mean that the ratio of maintainable building to paying customer must be very low. Nevertheless, we've been to hotels where they managed this; true 5-star quality. This hotel ticks the 5-star boxes, but isn't the top quality, attention to detail, experience that you can get. The beds are very comfortable, the pools magical, the food delicious, the buffets extensive, the rooms spacious. Do not think this is a terrible place; we still had a lovely time, and our private pool villa provided fantastic privacy for a romantic time. The middle pool appeared undervalued, and we spent a lot of time there (coming from Sydney, we weren't as obsessed with the beach, which was nice enough). It is a long way to anywhere, so you'll likely be eating many of your meals in the hotel. We did, including a lot of room service. Over the 10 days we spent about AUD$900 on all the various expenses (including Beach BBQ, evening buffets, etc) for 2 people. Overall, although the place is due for a thorough refit, it was still a wonderfully relaxing and refreshing experience.

This hotel is just amazing! We loved the beach and infinity pool. The people are so friendly, the staff gives it all to make your stay memorable! Also good food and a breakfast buffet that makes you wake up with a smile! We come back here!

We have just celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary and both of our Birthdays in this absolutely beautiful resort. The staff are the most beautiful people I have ever met 💞 they made our 14 days absolutely magical. The villas are perfect and fully serviced every day and the food was amazing, do yourself a favour and GO!

We stayed in many 5 star hotels but The Sarojin is the absolute top in hospitality. The staff, the food, the pool, the spa, the staff, the breakfast, the beach, the room: everything is top notch. We also loved all the little animals that can be spotted around the property. We will definitely come back if we want a break from our busy lifes. We highly recommend this hotel! Big thanks to the staff that made the stay exceptional!

A Slice of Paradise – The Sarojin, Thailand Our stay at The Sarojin was nothing short of breathtaking. Without a doubt, it’s the best place we have ever been — a true paradise tucked away in Thailand. What made this experience even more special is that we brought our two teenagers (18 and 15), and even they were impressed — no small feat! This wasn't just a holiday, it was an experience! fine dining in a luxurious environment with amazing service! The location speaks for itself, remote but within easy reach of local attractions, not that you need to wonder too far. In a world of corporate hospitality this experience was like a get together with friends, where every encounter felt casual and familiar, but in the best way possible. Our pool residence was absolutely spectacular, a rare example of reality being better than a photo, unlike some hotels where their towering architecture dominates the skyline, the rooms here are almost completely hidden behind the natural green jungle landscape that allows this peaceful existence to thrive. This is the nicest resort I have ever stayed at. I saw pics of this resort which inspired taking my honeymoon trip to Thailand and I wasn't disappointed! We did one of the honeymoon packages which included a waterfall dinner and it was so beautiful and romantic. The staff go out of their way to deliver outstanding service and the resort is beutiful.
