Things to do in Dalaman


Boasting crystal-clear waters, enchanting coves, picturesque bays and pristine stretches of sand, it’s easy to see why the area surrounding Dalaman is known as the Turquoise Coast.

The beaches along this incredible shoreline have much appeal, with options for both fun and relaxation, depending on your preference.

The shores around Olu Deniz’ stunning Blue Lagoon provide a dreamy backdrop for sunbathing, while the resort’s Belcekiz Beach is a great option for families, as well as offering activities for thrill seekers, with paragliders taking off from the nearby Babadag mountains.

The resorts of Icmeler and Marmaris are also ideal spots to top up your tan, as well as providing a variety of water sports options, including scuba diving, jet-skiing and sailing.

Further inland, Dalaman’s mountain ranges offer much in the way of exploration, whether done on foot, mountain bike or a 4x4 safari.

For a taste of culture, Marmaris old town is well worth a visit, or maybe sample some traditional pampering with a visit a Turkish bath or hammam.

An array of local culinary delights can also be enjoyed during your holiday, with a feast of flavours on the menu at restaurants dotted along the coast.

As the sun sets, the action in Dalaman doesn’t stop, with the resort of Marmaris known for its vibrant nightlife and being home to a number of open-air clubs and music venues.

Weather in Dalaman


Offering a Mediterranean climate, Dalaman welcomes visitors with warm weather almost all year round, seeing hot dry summers and mild winters.

If beach days and sunbathing top your plans during your holiday, the best time to visit is between the months of May and October, with temperatures averaging over 20°C. During the months of July and August temperatures can reach up to the 31°C, with around 13 hours of sunshine a day.

At the other end of the scale, January is the coldest month to visit. However, temperatures during this time still average above 10°C. Those seeking to avoid a shower should steer clear of Dalaman in December, the wettest month of the year.
