Itinerary


Day 1 – Riyadh City Tour and Al Dir’iyah

Arrive in Riyadh and start your Saudi adventure with your guide taking you to the King Abdul Aziz Historical Area, home to the National Museum of Saudi Arabia and the stunning Murabba Palace. You will then pay a visit to the 150-year-old Masmak Fortress in the heart of the old quarter, before heading off to see the futuristic Al Faisaliah and Kingdom Towers in modern Riyadh. The UNESCO World Heritage Site of Al Dir’iyah is the next stop on your journey, before you have the option to visit the observation deck of the Al Faisaliah Tower in the evening, to take in the stunning Riyadh cityscape.

Stay the night at 4* Centro Olaya by Rotana or similar

Day 2 – Ha’il City Tour

Fly from Riyadh to Ha’il, where you’ll explore a city that was once the capital of all the Arabian desert and an important trading centre. Make a stop at Al ‘Arif Fort, a hilltop landmark built with mud and clay, and enjoy great views over Ha’il.

Stay the night at 4* Holiday Villa or similar

Day 3 – Jubbah and Al ‘Ula

Travel from Ha’il to Jubbah by car. On arrival at the UNESCO World Heritage Site, you will be able to take in the spectacular rock carvings that are thought to date back to 5,500BC and include depictions of animals such as elephants, buffalo and camels. From Jubbah you will be driven to Al ‘Ula, where you will stay the night.

Stay the night at Sahary Desert Resort or similar

Day 4 – Al ‘Ula (Hegra, Dedan and Elephant Rock)

Enjoy a full day discovering the spectacular archaeological treasures that can be found in Al ‘Ula, Dedan and the UNESCO World Heritage site of Hegra. Al ‘Ula’s spectacular rock formations, canyons and cliffs are a sight to behold, while the remains of Hegra, the second city of the Nabateans, after Petra in Jordan, include more than 90 tombs beautifully carved into the rock. You will also visit the ancient oasis of Dedan, where you’ll discover more stunning scenery and get an insight into Saudi’s fascinating history. You will also make a stop at the spectacular Elephant Rock, located 11km north east of Al ‘Ula.

Stay the night at Sahary Desert Resort or Similar

Day 5 – Al ‘Ula and Medina

Follow in the footsteps of pilgrims and travellers on day five of your tour, stopping in Old Town Al ‘Ula. You will also visit the Hejaz Rail Station, part of the train line built by the Ottomans to reduce travel time from Damascus to Mecca. Made famous by T.E. Lawrence’s attacks on the railway during the First World War, the track was never finished and ended at Medina. You will then drive from Al ‘Ula to Medina. If time allows, you can enjoy a walk in the city, before driving up to Mount Uhud in the evening to take in the views.

Stay the night at 4* Jewar Al Saqefa or similar

Day 6 – Medina and Jeddah

Travel by road from Medina to Jeddah. Located west of Mecca, beside the Red Sea, the city of Jeddah offers a cosmopolitan atmosphere in a destination that features both ancient and modern attractions.

Stay the night at 4* Centro Shaheen by Rotana or similar

Day 7 - Jeddah

Explore the historic Al Balad area of Jeddah, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with its narrow lanes, merchant houses and Souq Al Alawi, Saudi Arabia’s largest market and a great place to discover authentic wares and traditional street food. It’s then on to the city’s Corniche, to take in the stunning coastal scenery and the impressive sculptures that line the waterfront. You will then head to Jeddah Airport for your departure flight.
