We really enjoyed our time here. The staff are amazing and so helpful. This was our first holiday in Oman with our three year old. We had so much fun, the water park is amazing. All the swimming pools have life guards stationed at them. The pools are cooled and some shaded, making it a wonderful experience. The buffet breakfast and dinner were so delicious with a wide variety of choices.
We will most definitely be back soon.

We booked a day pass with a room and were pleased with several aspects of our visit. We truly appreciated that the staff were all Omani – warm, welcoming, and professional.
The facilities were enjoyable and well-maintained, including access to the beach, gym, water park, and pool. However, the food was below expectations. The buffet offered limited variety and only served water, with no other drinks available, which was quite disappointing.
Additionally, the main access to the pool from the building leads through the bar area, which may not be ideal for families with children or for guests who value cultural and religious considerations.
Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but there is definite potential for improvement – particularly in the quality of food, beverages, and some furnishings.

I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere from the moment I arrived. The entire place had a great vibe—clean, cozy, and beautifully maintained. The food was excellent, with delicious options that really added to the experience.
A special thank you to Restaurant Manager RUSIRU, waiter TIRTHA, and housekeeper VAMSLI, who made my stay even more special with their outstanding service and kindness. I truly appreciate their efforts and attention to detail.

Shangri la was a wonderful experience for us as family! Wide variety of pools- lazy river , splash pad and swimming pool - so much to do and have fun for adults and children! Very safe with so many lifeguards around . The rooms were interconnected, making it more accessible! The breakfast spread was very good, with plenty of choices .

We stayed in Al Bandar as a family of four from London over the Easter holidays.
The property itself is in a beautiful location nestled amongst the mountains, the drive to and from was an experience.
Service standards were high and staff were always happy to help. Shout out to the pool guy!
We enjoyed using the several pools and never felt that it was overcrowded.
Poolside menu/ room service was quick and there was a wide choice of dishes to choose from.
Rooms are a bit dated, however bed is huge and rooms are cleaned well.
Tips
There is a 24hr clinic/Dr on site.
Ground floor rooms will give direct and easy access via patio to pools/beach.
There is a shuttle bus that takes you to the mall and souk. It can get busy so pre book seats. We never used it as we loved the hotel!
Not much else close by to the hotel, therefore useful to have your own car incase you need to leave. (We ran out of baby wipes!)
Overall a wonderful stay, thank you.

It was a wonderful experience to spend our weekend and my birthday here, though it was only for a day staycation but it was indeed worth it and memorable.
The room was so lovely, clean, smeels good and facing the beach and lazy pool was such a view.
All the staff that we met were all so accomodating and gracious. The reception also generously approved our request for a late check-out. And I was so touched and surprised that they prepared for me a birthday cake, such a sweet gesture.
For the breakfast buffet, it was good but couldn't enjoy much coz i got sick.
The only downside we got to experience was that the AC was not 'cold' enough as we were sweating in the middle of our sleep.
But overall, our experience was great and lovely and def worth it.

I want to say a big thank you to the front desk team for their excellent service. Everyone was very professional and truly outstanding. They explained all the hotel facilities and its history with such warmth and energy.
The Sultanah team took equally good care of us during all our meals (both breakfast and afternoon tea). They paid attention to every little detail and made us feel special throughout our stay.
One of the best parts was when the Chef came to personally welcome us and explain the breakfast menu. We loved all the food both times. Everything from how beautifully the dishes were presented to how delicious they tasted was perfect. The fried fish was honestly the best I've ever had. It wasn't just breakfast - it was a special experience we looked forward to every morning.
I also really appreciated the free cultural tour with Khalid. He shared us so much about Oman's history and culture, as well as the hotel's background. He was extremely kind and made the tour very enjoyable.
What makes this hotel special is that every department works together to provide amazing service. The staff don't just do their jobs - they make real connections with guests and create memories that last long after you leave.

Together with my husband we spent 6 days at the Shangri-La Al Husn in Muscat. Before getting to the hotel we received a mail from a lovely French lady who is responsible for guest relationship. Excellent! We were able to convey all our plans and also needs to this lady who then organized and booked all our restaurants. We also asked for a room upgrade and were so spoilt to spend a week in such a lovely large room!!

It took us a while to unwind and fall into our daily routine of either going to the beach or pool and being pampered by all the wonderful staff bringing us coolboxes with water, Evian water cooled face spray and juices.
We also experienced baby turtles being set off to fend for themselves. Quite incredible.
Restaurants are fine. There are quite a few options.
We used the lazy river which I am sorry to say was rather dirty. The sister hotels: Al Bandar and Al Waha felt overwhelmingly full and truly of lesser quality.
Overall I am quite certain that we will return to the Shangri-La Al Husn or another Shangri-La somewhere else.

My stay at Shangri-La Al Husn was incredible from start to finish, made even more special by the amazing staff and the resort’s calming, luxurious atmosphere.
A standout feature was the beautiful signature scent that fills the hotel, it’s subtle, elegant, and instantly relaxing. It really set the tone for a serene, indulgent stay.
Said at the pool was fantastic he was super enthusiastic, helpful, and always one step ahead of my needs. Said’s positive energy made relaxing by the pool a true highlight. His attention to detail and joyful attitude made me feel like a VIP every day.
At reception, I was warmly welcomed by Saeeda, Mohammed, and Saira. They were all incredibly kind and professional. A special thank you to Saira, who handled my check-in, arranged a lovely room, and organised a late check-out to adjust to my late flight, with such ease and genuine care!
Mohammed was a huge help on my departure day. He arranged a taxi for me and thoughtfully helped plan my timing so I could visit the mall before heading to the airport.
The service at Al Husn truly exceeded my expectations. Each staff member made me feel so well looked after, and their kindness will definitely stay with me. I can’t wait to return!

We are giving a full 5-star rating without hesitation because this resort offers everything you would expect from a high-end, adults-only, beachfront hotel.
We stayed for about a week in January. The days were pleasantly warm, while the evenings were a bit cooler. Throughout our stay, the staff was consistently courteous, friendly, and attentive. We felt recognized and well taken care of.
Although the hotel is not brand new, it is impeccably maintained. The rooms are spacious, elegantly furnished, and serviced to the highest standard. The entire property is beautifully landscaped and meticulously cared for.
Breakfast is outstanding—great variety, excellent quality, and incredibly friendly, attentive staff. Enjoying breakfast on the terrace was always a pleasure. The happy hours, including afternoon tea and evening drinks with delicious bites, were a daily highlight.
The pool is large and perfect for swimming, while the hotel’s private beaches are pristine and well-maintained. The service at both the pool and beach areas is equally outstanding, with staff always ready to assist.
Final Verdict: We felt completely at ease and will definitely return on our next trip to Oman. Highly recommended!

We stayed for a weekend and we had an amazing experience here. The hotel staff are very accomodating and super nice especially Glen and Subaira. The place is beautiful. The weather is so nice. And the breakfast spread included was delightful!

We just had amazing two days stay at this property. Location, staff, rooms and facilities are all top notch. They have adventure park inside the hotel so kids and even elders remain busy. All in all value for money and amazing weather.
Rooms are there in block of 4 and they have golf carts running if you don’t want to walk. I bet you will not take the cart as its so nice to walk around resort.
Adventure park requires 7 years of age and 1.3 M of height. They have well trained and cordial staff helping you around the park. It basically has three levels of courses and they are really challenging. Zip line is there which everyone can take and enjoy the day.
Pool is really nice and kids friendly. They have very nice seating around pool.
Gym is also very nice and well equipped.
We couldn’t find table both days at Veranda restaurant for breakfast but hotel has arranged same buffet in one of conference room which saved our time amd hassle of waiting in queues.

The room were okay. Very good space but had some leaks from wash basin sink which create a bit of a mess in the bathroom.
Room view were very good, we were given room with sunset view.
Hotel facility is very good with alot of actitivities for kids (wall climbing, etc).
Breakfast in Veranda was amazing. The pastry was top notch. But the main thing that stands out in this restaurant is the service. Muhammad Ali is one of the kindest person works here in this restaurant and very warmly hosting us

We had a great experience with the Kids Club thanks to the lovely lady named Fortunate. She was incredibly kind, caring, and creative with the kids. My daughter spent a lot of time there doing arts and crafts, and she absolutely loved it. I really appreciate Fortunate’s patience and the fun activities she organized every day.
While the Kids Club space itself could use some renovation—it’s a bit outdated—the quality of care and attention Fortunate provided truly made up for it. I highly recommend the Kids Club, especially if Fortunate is there. She made our stay even more special!

The Chedi is the best most relaxing hotel in Oman. The service is always exceptional. We especially enjoy the Restaurant. The staff is always so hospitable and friendly and accommodating. The service is beyond compare and they will do anything to make you happy. Whatever my children request even if it’s not on the menu they do their best to fulfill the request especially Maribel Karna Kisher and Dennis and all the Restaurant staff. I always have an enjoyable and fun evening or brunch there! They treat you truly like family!

The rooms were super comfy and clean. The resort itself is spacious, with several pools, plus a private pool, gym, and spa—which was a great bonus.
That said, the place could use some upgrading. Service wasn’t up to standard, especially considering the prices. The restaurant had okay food, but it was overpriced for what it was—Michelin star rates without the experience. It felt like we were being served by someone still in training.
Breakfast had a good selection and tasted fine, but the atmosphere felt rushed. The staff seemed constantly stressed, which impacted the overall vibe.
Overall, it was a good stay. I’d consider coming back if service improves.

I had a truly wonderful stay at The Chedi Muscat. The hotel is incredibly spacious, giving a unique sense of calm and openness—you feel like you’re in a palace built within a vast, beautifully designed space.
The three pools, especially the iconic Long Pool, made every moment by the water a pleasure. I was particularly impressed by the gym: modern, well-equipped, and beautifully arranged. As a fan of Pilates, I was thrilled to find a reformer machine available—such a rare and thoughtful touch.
Our room was large, elegant, and very comfortable. We chose to have breakfast at the hotel every day, and it was a highlight of the stay—varied, abundant, and full of delicious international and local specialties.
I could go on and on about the architecture and design, but what truly made this stay exceptional was the staff. I’ve visited many hotels around the world, but I’ve never experienced hospitality quite like this. Every team member was smiling, kind, and genuinely helpful. They made us feel not like guests, but like friends at home. The personal recommendations and warmth they shared will stay with me for a long time.

The Chedi in Muscat is a beautiful and relaxing hotel. In addition to the private beach, superbly equipped gym, a huge morning buffet and various restaurants, the staff are also super friendly and very courteous. Pandiyan in particular, who gave us excellent service at the pool, as well as Jenny from the seafood restaurant and not forgetting Ahmed who works in the Japanese restaurant, must be mentioned by name. They all did a great job and made our stay an even better experience. We can definitely recommend the Chedi and will definitely visit again. Thank you very much for an unforgettable stay. Everything was great for me and my family. We felt cherished in a a very nice atmosphere. Staff were so friendly and helpful. We easily got an early check and late check out once asking as front desk guys were so understanding. Also restaurants staff were kind and welcoming. Definitely we will come back when in Muscat.

I had a great experience during my stay, thanks to the amazing hotel staff. The reception team was extremely helpful, professional, and friendly. They made everything smooth and stress-free from the moment I arrived.
The breakfast was a buffet served in the restaurant. It was okay, but I think it could be better with more variety and higher quality to match the excellent service provided by the staff.
A special mention goes to (Mark) , our waiter, who was outstanding – very professional, attentive, and friendly. He really made us feel welcome.
Also, a big thank you to (Efrianty) ,the hostess, who made sure everything in the restaurant was perfect. She was attentive, polite, and made sure guests were comfortable and well taken care of.
Overall, the staff were the highlight of my stay – truly excellent service across the board. I would definitely recommend this hotel, especially because of the wonderful people who work there

A Perfect Ending to Our Oman Trip – Truly Exceptional!
My girlfriend and I stayed at the Kempinski Muscat for the last night of our trip to Oman, and we were absolutely blown away. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the professional and seamless guest service. The staff is incredibly friendly – almost unbelievably so – and made us feel genuinely welcomed.
A key factor for us when choosing a hotel is the gym, and the fitness center here exceeded our expectations. It was well-equipped, clean, and perfect for a solid workout.
In the evening, we were amazed by the buffet – it was exceptional in every sense. The quality was top-notch, the presentation was stunning, and the flavors were a delight. We especially appreciated the thoughtful blend of European and Oriental cuisine.
To top it off, we had the unique opportunity to spend part of the evening at the table with the head chef. He was an absolute pleasure to meet and made the experience even more memorable.
If we ever return to Oman, Kempinski Muscat will definitely be our first choice.

What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is the service. Every member of the staff—from reception to housekeeping to the restaurants—was genuinely attentive, courteous, and eager to ensure that my stay was perfect. Special thanks to the concierge team, who went above and beyond to assist with my plans and make excellent recommendations.
The dining options were equally impressive. Each restaurant offered a unique culinary experience, and the quality of the food was consistently outstanding. I particularly enjoyed the fresh food and the variety at breakfast each morning.
The hotel’s location is ideal—peacefully nestled along the beach, yet conveniently close to the airport and key attractions in Muscat. The pool area, spa, and beachfront access provided the perfect opportunities to unwind and recharge.
I cannot recommend Kempinski Hotel Muscat highly enough. Whether you’re visiting for business or leisure, this hotel will exceed your expectations in every possible way.

My wife and I stayed here to celebrate our anniversary, and the team went above and beyond with the most beautiful welcome decoration! The bathroom and tub were stunning, and our suite had a gorgeous cliff view with a huge terrace to relax on.
The stargazing experience was a highlight, with a professional telescope that let us truly see the stars. Breakfast was also lovely.
Driving up the mountain wasn’t as scary as expected — if you’re comfortable with mountain driving, it’s very manageable. Just be cautious, as some sections have pretty steep uphills.
The only downside was that the restaurant menu doesn’t include the 22% taxes in the listed prices. Other than that, a magical and memorable stay.

We had a truly wonderful stay at this hotel! The quality throughout is top-notch, and the location is absolutely perfect—with direct access to a private beach and a stunning infinity pool overlooking the sea.
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the receptionist. Although there was a short wait for our room, it was handled with such friendliness that it didn’t feel like an inconvenience at all.
Our room was spotless, spacious, and very well-maintained, with a comfortable bed that made for restful nights. The attention to cleanliness and detail was evident everywhere.
Breakfast was a daily highlight—delicious, varied, and served with exceptional hospitality. The staff made every morning feel special. The pool bar service was equally impressive; drinks were served ice-cold and almost immediately after ordering online, with noticeable attention to detail.
A special thanks goes to Reem at the reception, who was incredibly helpful and communicative throughout our stay. She truly made a difference in our experience.
Overall, this was an outstanding getaway that we recommend to everyone. We’re already looking forward to coming back!

Fantastic experience!! That trip we didn't expect anything from and it surprised us. The city is beautiful, clean and the people are kind and welcoming. The hotel offered everything we needed to have peaceful and relaxing days, even with some restrictions ‘cause of Ramadan, everything went really well. The private beach and the pools were a highlight... and to start and end our vacation, a team of massage therapists who offered us the comfort and physical recovery we needed, a special thanks to Anna and Rose for the unique service. Totally recommend!

No one helped us with our luggage during check in/ check out. Taxi in front of hotel charges double price compared to the app. Glasses fence on the cliffs should be wiped on daily basis, so guests can enjoy the sea view.

We booked a cliff-view villa to celebrate my birthday , the view was absolutely breathtaking. The villa included a private pool and a peaceful garden courtyard, creating the perfect setting for a relaxing escape.
Everyone at the resort went above and beyond to make sure we had the best time.

Despite the beautiful natural surroundings and lovely views, our overall experience at the hotel was extremely disappointing.
We had requested an upgrade and were given a new room rate which we accepted. However, it took over two hours for the staff to move us to the new room, which significantly delayed our plans as we had to wait with our luggage, unable to unpack or rest.
Upon entering the upgraded room, we found the toilet was not clean, and later at night, we discovered a dead insect under the pillow in the bed sheet — something that was absolutely unacceptable.
We also tried to order a simple cup of tea through room service — three times with different staff — and each time, they only sent tea bags without hot water or a proper setup.
The worst part of our stay was the checkout process. We were told that the room rate we were quoted was just the additional charge and that we had signed a paper confirming it. However, the paper we were shown only had the room rate written on it with no word like additional or extra!
On top of everything, the hotel lost our ID cards, which caused even more stress. We spent almost two hours sitting in the lobby waiting for them to locate the IDs. Eventually, the hotel manager arrived, and only then were the IDs found — supposedly they had fallen behind the reception desk.
While the manager was polite, most of the staff showed a lack of professionalism, urgency, and respect throughout our stay.
Unfortunately, we left the hotel tired, disappointed, and regretting choosing this place for our holiday.

Also the Italian restaurant is amazing with good views. The landscaping and farming within. The location all amazing absolutely. Absolutely fantastic stay at Anantara Jabal Akhdar! From start to finish, everything was exceptional. The journey up to the resort is already part of the experience – only 4WD vehicles are allowed beyond the checkpoint, adding to the sense of seclusion and adventure.
The resort is beautiful, peaceful, and very well maintained. We stayed in an upper-floor room facing the cliffs, with breathtaking sunset views. The room was spacious and thoughtfully designed – including a Nespresso machine, a large balcony with a sofa bed, and a real commitment to sustainability: filtered water is provided in refillable glass bottles, and the toilets use grey water – subtle, but effective steps that reflect the resort’s care for the environment.
We had both breakfast and dinner in the main restaurant and were impressed by the quality and presentation. The buffet is not oversized, but just right – varied, fresh, and well curated (a smart and sustainable approach). Delicious coffee and a wide choice of milk alternatives (like almond milk) made it even better. Everything was spotless, and water is always included at the table – a kind and conscious touch.
Alcohol is pricey, but there’s a happy hour in the main bar with a good selection. The fitness center is excellent, with modern equipment and even a small climbing wall – fantastic!
You can start a scenic hike just a few minutes from the resort – highly recommended. Maps are available at the reception, and you’ll also find the routes on Komoot or Outdooractive. The pool area is beautifully designed and perfect for relaxing.
In short: Anantara Jabal Akhdar combines luxury, nature, and genuine sustainability in one of Oman’s most stunning settings. Highly recommended – and worth every moment.
