Corniche

You can’t fail to be wowed by the beauty and splendour of the Corniche - an incredible 8km hive of activity and which spans 8km along Abu Dhabi’s north west shore. There’s so much to see and do in the beautiful Corniche - attractions include fun-packed children’s playgrounds, wonderful fountains, relaxing parks, fantastic shops, quaint cafes and charming restaurants. Special mention should be given to the stunning public beach with its inviting white sands where you can chill out in the blissful sunshine or take to the turquoise waters for a refreshing dip in the Arabian Gulf. You can swim at the beach until sunset but you cannot venture out further than 40 metres where floating fences will keep you safe from passing boats and jet skis. A great way to explore the Corniche is to hire a bicycle - buggy bikes, mountain bikes and city bikes let you take in the fabulous sights and you’ll find them at various hire stations along the promenade. A Yellow Boat trip from the Corniche is highly recommended and offers a great opportunity to marvel at the city’s breath-taking towering skyline. You’ll also see the majestic Emirates Palace, yachts owned by the mega-rich and get the chance to admire the beauty of the Corniche itself from a distance. Lulu Island is a magical little place around 100m from the Corniche which you can reach by kayak or boat.
