A very special thank you to the Ground Service Team led by Mr. Segar. The service we received was extremely warm, personalised and prestigious — truly living up to the iconic reputation of Pangkor Laut Resort.
We enjoyed the wide array of delicious breakfast options at Feast Village, a beautiful and relaxing lunch by the beach at Chapman’s Bar, and a memorable dinner with flavourful Chinese cuisine at Uncle Lim’s Kitchen. Every meal gave us a delightful dining experience.
The natural beauty of Pangkor Laut Island, combined with the exceptional hospitality from Mr. Segar and his team, along with the various facilities provided, made our experience truly valuable and unforgettable. Our meeting room at The Snug was also very comfortable, with free flow coffee and tea prepared for us — such a thoughtful touch.
We highly recommend this resort, especially for couples, as the Sea Villa area offers a romantic and breathtaking atmosphere.
Overall, we are very thankful to the entire hotel team — especially Ms. Yee Sin, Mr. Segar, and all staff — for the top-notch service and memorable stay. We look forward to returning again soon! 🙏🌴✨

We spent three nights on Pangkor Laut, staying in a Tropical Hill Villa, and it is a beautiful island. From the moment you arrive, you’re surrounded by rainforest and the sound of nature. Emerald Bay is especially a stunning beach surrounded by rainforest with soft sand and clear water. It feels peaceful and untouched.
It’s true that the rooms and the common areas for the breakfast, lunch, and dinner buffets could use an update. The rooms are not spotless clean, and you can see that some areas would benefit from refurbishment. However, we were aware that this is an island resort, which naturally comes with logistical challenges. Keeping everything perfectly maintained in such a remote, tropical environment is not always easy, and we took that into consideration.
For us, three nights was the perfect amount of time to fully enjoy the island. We had the dinner buffet once and dined twice at Uncle Lim’s.
What stood out to us most was how incredibly hard the F&B staff work. We saw the same team members at breakfast, lunch, and dinner – clearly putting in very long days. Yet every single morning we were greeted with friendliness. Seeing the same faces day after day was both impressive and a little confronting.
In the end, we enjoyed the breathtaking nature the most, along with the wonderful morning yoga classes. Pangkor Laut is all about natural beauty, tranquility, and the people who work so hard to make your stay special.

This is a 5 star plus resort. The island is magical. The rooms are spectacular. If you’re looking for modern decor like the previous unhappier reviewer then it’s like going to Michel Roux Jr’s restaurant and expecting sushi and burgers. We stayed in a Spa Villa which was stunning. The staff are an absolute pleasure to be around. Each display their own individuality but loyal and adherent to the ethos of the hard working and passionate GM, Ivy who goes above and beyond to make sure the guests are happy. On some days, we didn’t get a sun bed but there was always seating around the pool available. Food is high quality but I’d have liked the option of room service and maybe a pizza 😂 one night! I’d definitely return. It’s a great island with even better staff and facilities. I could go on and on. World class spa, saw Hollywood royalty here too. Honestly I’d be shocked if anyone was disappointed if they knew they were coming to an Asian retreat. Don’t come expecting an ultra modern hotel because it isn’t. It’s a luxurious, Asian, immaculately clean resort which has the highest level of service.

Peaceful laid back resort. Service was excellent. The beaches were clean. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast has great options. The food was great in all the restaurants we tried. We will be back again. A special thanks to Ms Vigneswari at reception who went above and beyond to accommodate our needs.

Stayed for 2N, but access to the room ended on first night. Stranded outside the room and became a buffet to mosquitoes late night while awaiting service staff to bring a new set of cards. Room was situated in a quite and quaint corner of the resort. However, we would expect a briefing of activities things to do on the resort during the check in process. This isn't some big city where we can replace with other activities. This resort is the island. Ended up with just lazing by the sun beds.
Service recovery was somewhat there on the 2nd morning with buggy present without needing to call for one. Massage was great as well, totally enjoyed.
No comments for the food. Edible, but if you're here to feast, I think the mainland would be better. Gym could be better maintained

About the food: three versions of salmon are all equally amazing, but the tuna is quite disappointing. Hot and cold food are of high-quality. The desert indicates that there is no real pastry chef on location.
Cocktails are good and the Prosecco is better than some Champagnes. Although I am quite disappointed that a hotel like this does not serve a brunch with Champagne

An Exceptional Afternoon Tea Experience!
This was, without question, the best afternoon tea experience we have ever had. Sally Cheah Chooi Lin and the entire Afternoon Tea team were absolutely outstanding from start to finish.
Sally was incredibly knowledgeable and clearly passionate about what she does. She shared thoughtful details about the tea service, including that the clotted cream is sourced from Devon and the raspberry jam comes from Europe. These small touches showed the level of care and authenticity behind the experience.
I have previously had high tea at the Taj in Mumbai, but this surpassed it with flying colours. The flavours, presentation, atmosphere, and service were exceptional.
The entire team was warm, gracious, and attentive throughout our visit. Sally in particular stood out for her kindness and attentiveness. She also shared wonderful recommendations about Kuala Lumpur, which we greatly appreciated.
Sally truly represents the Ritz at its very best. Her professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail embody the level of hospitality you expect from such an iconic establishment.
Most importantly, the team made my mum’s birthday feel incredibly special. Their thoughtfulness and genuine hospitality made the afternoon unforgettable. We are very grateful for such a memorable experience.

The buffet service was excellent. I casually asked if I could have some hot chocolate. A staff member named Min Rana politely replied, "Sorry, we only serve coffee, and it's unusual for someone to ask for chocolate." I said it was fine.
But not long after, Min Rana brought me some hot chocolate. I was surprised and asked, "So you have chocolate?"
No, I just made some with the ingredients I had. He said

Rooms looked a bit worn down and the beds were a bit too springy (could feel every movement on a king size bed if you're sleeping with your significant other).
Not the best room compared to other Ritz-Carltons I've stayed at but the location was great. Proximity to Pavilion mall which also has access to the connection sky bridges that take you to other areas such as the Petronas Twin Towers/KLCC. In the opposite direction of Pavilion, there's The Exchange TRX which is less crowded and has a giant plaza in front of it with many restaurants in nearby streets.
Hotel breakfast had decent selection and the club lounge was nice too. If you booked a club room, you can access the club lounge on the ground level. Club Lounge was great. We had afternoon tea and evening snacks there. They pretty much had something to offer throughout the day which was nice for those who plan to spend the day at the hotel or in the area.
The hotel was a bit confusing to navigate around at first due to lack of visible signage and the front desk person that checked us in did not help us figure out how to get to the elevators. We also weren't told where the club lounge was so a lot of the first day navigating around the hotel we had to do ourselves.
Other than that, service was decent. We celebrated our anniversary here and the hotel staff provided us with a nice treat in the room. Overall a good stay.

Stayed here with family for 4 days 3 nights, booked two rooms 326 and 328- connective room.
Good thing is pool is nice and kids enjoyed. Breakfast was acceptable, not much new food on daily basis. Same menu everyday.
However, the room is not clean, carpet is dirty, towels got stain and the drawers are super dusty. Even the bathroom racks are not wiped. Corridor - super dusty, we see same trash and at same place along the corridor everyday. 326 room latch is broken , unable to open it since we checked in. Thank God, we were in connective room, hence we didn't make fuss on it.
I understand it's old building, keeping it clean is more essential. Definitely will NOT come back. This place not worth amount of the money I paid.

We had a wonderful stay at Shangri-La Golden Sands in Batu Feringgi. The pool area is fantastic—perfect for relaxing or spending time with family. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well maintained throughout our stay. In the evening, there are plenty of great opportunities to eat outside the hotel, with many restaurants and hawker stalls within walking distance.
I highly recommend the BBQ buffet, which offers a great range of tasty food and fresh options—definitely worth trying!
Just a small note for light sleepers: some rooms on the mosque-facing side are very close to a nearby mosque, and the call to prayer begins early in the morning. It is part of the local culture and atmosphere, but if you prefer quieter mornings, you may wish to request a room on the opposite side. Overall, a very enjoyable experience and we would happily return.

If you have kids, this is where it’s at! There are so many activities : 1) Adventure Zone is like a large soft play area with extremely steep slides and some free video games, open 10-13.00; 2) Kids Club is upstairs in the same building and has a world-class array of activities including a snake show, golf, kite flying, arts, crafts, cooking class, an insider’s hotel tour (etc); 3) entertainment at breakfast even with balloon making and magic!; 4) mini waterpark with 2 slides and a splash area; 5) 3 large pools; 6) the beach and water sports including jet skiing, paragliding, banana boats, etc. For adults, there is a spa at the Shangri-La next door. The breakfast was very international and delicious! The rooms could use a refurb, but the Executive Suite had plenty of space and really nice views! Overall, in off season, we felt this hotel was EXCELLENT value! We particularly appreciated Elvin at checkin, and all the amazing sweet girls at the Kids Club. We will be back! Note: there was a sign which said the beach had jellyfish, so we stayed out of the ocean for swimming.

Weekend rush has it downsides but it is totally understandable. I still found the value and it all proven during my stay during non rush. The cafe, pool, basking area is totally relaxing and safe. The service is improved, i can see big smile on staff faces. Breakfast comes with good spread. Room is clean.
The beach is however eroded by multiple storm through recent years. We can still stroll from golden sand to rasa sayang and enjoy the nature

Have a great experience while staying here. The staffs were very friendly and helpful. This is my 2nd time here. I choose family room for my small family and it's worth every money. The room for kids has 3 bed including the tent. The room is connected with our room. We received complimentary snacks on our 1st and 2nd day. The breakfast has variety of food/menu and great view (facing beach). I'm definitely will choose this hotel if I ever when to Penang again. Thank you golden sands resort ❤️❤️❤️ ❤️ ❤️

I stayed here for two nights. The hotel’s pool connects directly to the beach, offering beautiful views. I booked a sea-view room, and the balcony overlooks the ocean—very relaxing. There are also plenty of good restaurants and night markets nearby. Housekeeping comes daily to clean the room and replace amenities. Using Grab to get to nearby attractions (like the Floating Mosque and Gurney Plaza) is fairly convenient.
Although the room rate is on the higher side for George Town, I think it’s well worth it.

Nice resort with a few hiccups.
Check-in was very slow and took forever (30mins+), only 2 counters operational upon arrival with 2 other staff not checking in anyone. There's no seating and it's not an air conditioned area.
First and foremost, the hotel and rooms were very nice! The service provided by the staff was great as well! Unfortunately for us, our room's AC filter was filthy (see picture). My wife got sick and the reception was quite useless, they refused to cover the medical bill and suggested to escalate to their executive. It's the first time I've had to deal with a hotel executive (where's the common sense and employee empowerment?). The matter was dealt with the executive, the room was changed. The medical bill was covered.
Unfortunately, we incurred loss of enjoyment so we didn't fully make use of all the amenities. Reception should be better trained in handling matters especially due to the hotel's own negligence.
With that being said, it shouldn't detract others from booking at this hotel.

Because we had stayed here previously, we chose PARKROYAL Penang Resort once again to celebrate our anniversary. The main reason for selecting this hotel is its peaceful and beautiful environment, as well as its beachfront location which offers a relaxing atmosphere and a greater sense of privacy.
We would like to extend our sincere appreciation to the hotel for the thoughtful surprise anniversary cake that was delivered to our room. It was truly a wonderful gesture. The cake was very moist and absolutely delicious, making our celebration even more memorable.
However, there are a few areas that may require attention from the hotel management. The sink in the bathroom was leaking, which caused the bathroom floor to become wet. In addition, the drainage in the shower room appeared to be clogged. We hope these issues can be addressed to further improve the overall guest experience.

I rarely gave full stars.. but here it is. Love the location, far off from the hectic traffic of penang, but close enough to what really matters when you go for a holiday : relaxing vibe and tranquility. It is located next to batu ferringhi beach, so in the evening u can just stroll along the beach to where the stalls and fireshows at. The hotel itself is easily to spot, parking free. U will be greetef with welcome drinks before coming to your rooms. Our room was perfect, well lit, clean, everything in order. Room keeping came everyday. Gym is well equipped, and every equipment in working order. Breakfast has vast menu, all is simply delicious. Pool is kepy clean, love the 2 slides. Honestly i cant find any faults. Hoped to come here again!

Lovely hotel requiring some tlc. Staff are very helpful and kind. The grounds are well looked after. Pool area equipment I.e. loungers, sun umbrellas have seen better days. Drinks are overpriced. Food prices and quality as per expectation of a quaity hotel. The location is within walking distance of the Jetty. Ferries and boat trips are available from there. The Jetty area has bars and restaurants if you wish to go out of the hotel. The front of house manager Nazza is so pleasant and very helpful,

We have just returned from a 10 day stay at this wonderful resort. The service, attention to detail and friendliness of every single member of staff was quite unforgettable. Breakfast was an absolute delight with an incredible choice of options - both local and western, with an abundant offering of fresh fruit and juices. The Tide restaurant boasts an excellent chef and well cooked meals with truly lovely staff. The room service menu is the most comprehensive we have ever come across with meals cooked to order and prompt delivery. With a choice of 4 pools and private beach, it is always possible to find somewhere quiet to relax. The resort is, perhaps, looking a little tired in certain areas (new carpets and outdoor furniture), but this in no way detracts from the overall impressions and the first rate staff.

I had a very pleasant stay at The Westin Resort Langkawi during my holiday on 21 - 23 Jan 2026, returning after 18 years away from Langkawi. The reception staff, Farah, was very polite and courteous. The Director of Rooms, Seri, personally came to meet and greet me during check-in—she was truly amazing. She gave a wonderful introduction to the beautiful resort and thoughtfully suggested facilities for me to explore during my stay.
I had dinner at Seasonal Tastes, where the food was delicious. The staff, Muhaimin and Reen, were professional and courteous—kudos to both of them.
On the second day, as I passed by the reception counter, I was pleasantly surprised when the Front Office Manager, Nazar, and her team wished me a happy birthday. It truly made my day. Upon entering my room, I was delighted to find beautiful birthday decorations on my bed, along with a cake and a birthday card signed by the Front Office team. I felt genuinely appreciated. Special thanks to Logen and the Housekeeping team for their effort and thoughtful decorations.
Overall, my stay was delightful, with a beautiful resort and amazing staff. I will definitely return in the near future with my whole family.

All in one we had a memorable lovely stay here at Westin Langkawi.
We got upgraded to a nice suite and also had some other Marriott member benefits like a daily free cocktail at Breeze Lounge or an invitation to a Cocktail Festive with free snacks and drinks. Ruben, the guy at the bar, was ready to give you like a personal gin tasting and mixed every drink of our desire. Also he gave us some recommendations for drinks and dine in in Langkawi and Singapore. Great guy!
At first we had some cleanliness issues with our bathroom, but as we complained it, it was cleaned really quick.
The service overall is good and the staff is very friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was good, but unfortunately only inside seating capabilities. Outside would be better for those ones who like it a little bit more quiet.
But there is one thing: I can't understand why the prices of the drinks and also food are soooo expensive. You are able to eat and drink very cheap outside of the resort, so why buy the expensive food and drinks? Maybe the people would be ready to eat and drink at the resort with some more affordable prices.

Although the hotel is a bit older, everything is maintained at a very high standard. We truly enjoyed our stay here.

First time staying at the Shangri-La Rasa Sayang in Penang and we were not disappointed. The hotel was quite busy because of the New Year holiday but that couldn’t be helped. The facility is spotless, picturesque and comfortable. The room was a real treat, made especially wonderful thanks to Hassan’s dedication to making the room special everyday.
The service across the resort was fantastic. Staff were all smiles and familiarity. A special mention to Hakim at the beachside bar who couldn’t do enough for us and had a real talent for the personal touch of customer service.
Overall a lovely stay for a much needed rest and relaxation and would definitely visit again.

We had our team dinner here and it was an amazing experience. The food was absolutely delicious with a wide variety of choices. The seafood was very fresh and the dessert selection was impressive as well. Everything was well prepared and nicely presented.
What made the experience even better was the staff, they were all very friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout the evening. The service was excellent and made our team dinner even more enjoyable.

Had a wonderful getaway with family and Shangri-la doesn’t disappoint. Rooms looked refreshed and there is a good view of the pool and beach. Well maintained grounds, one of the best in the country with good amenities like the Kids club. Enjoyed the dj live music by the beach at night. Chess game at the gardens was a welcoming change to the previous checkers. Special mention to Dulal the house keeping staff for a job well done. Room service food was excellent. Went here on holiday with my husband and daughter. Had a great time! the room was superb as usual. That staff were very helpful, and friendly. Our favourite is definitely the breakfast buffet and the seating. When the pool was being cleaned, the staff recommended us to take a buggy to Golden Sands and we were happy to find out that there was a waterpark like pool there! We took a walk back through the serene walkway from Golden Sands back to Rasa Sayang. Love the herb garden too!

I have been lucky enough to have travelled the world and have been to some beautiful hotels but this place has got to be within my top 3 hotels I’ve ever stayed in. The people, the food, the rooms are all amazing. It was my friends birthday whilst there and all the staff knew and made her feel extra special. The head chef Doloris made us a special meal and it was delicious, every morning and evening the staff where just so friendly and welcoming. A special thanks to Safwan who was our guide on the snorkelling trip, we got to see sharks and lots of beautiful fish. A must trip to do whilst there. The amazing views, the private beach and how relaxing this place is, is a must for all to visit. Highly recommend this place. Thank you for a wonderful stay ❤️

Gaya Island Resort — 6.5/10 Overall
The resort itself has a lot going for it visually. The setting is beautiful, with villas tucked into the jungle hillside and leafy walkways that make you feel immersed in nature. The room was excellent — big, well-designed, and very comfortable. Unfortunately, the rest of the resort didn’t live up to the same standard.
The pool area was nice enough, but the pool bar needs a serious rethink. It felt dated and a bit out of place — the standing tables looked more like something from a dive bar than a five-star hotel. The beer selection was also surprisingly poor: two types of Carlsberg and a Sapporo — that’s it. Hardly what you’d expect from a resort that presents itself as luxury. There’s also no poolside service, so you have to walk up to the bar each time you want a drink. Not a huge problem, but it definitely takes away from the experience.
Food: Fisherman’s Cove was expensive and very average — standard western dishes that don’t justify the price. The omakase restaurant was actually great and easily the highlight when it comes to dining. The buffet restaurant, however, was really disappointing: overpriced, slightly chaotic, and lacking any sense of refinement. The fact that the buffet cost more than both of the other two combined says it all. It’s also odd that there’s no Malaysian fine dining or something rooted in local flavours — everything felt a bit touristy and generic.
Service & Cleanliness: The staff were friendly and helpful when it came to room service — food arrived quickly, and the luggage transfer from the boat was handled efficiently. Beyond that, service was inconsistent. A few things were out of stock, and the staff often just accepted it rather than offering alternatives. Attention to cleanliness could be a lot sharper too. One afternoon, monkeys got into a rubbish bag and the mess stayed there for hours before being cleaned up.
There was also a lion dance performance during my stay which, while festive, left the front lawn and reception area covered in firecracker debris. It looked awful, and the rubbish was left there for days afterward — not what you’d expect from a supposedly high-end resort.
The private beach accessed by boat was lovely, with clear water and soft sand, but again we found ourselves picking up plastic and bits of rubbish while staff on duty didn’t seem too bothered. Given the resort’s emphasis on nature and conservation, that lack of care felt disappointing.
The natural setting and potential are undeniable — it’s a stunning location, and parts of the resort do deliver. But other details — service consistency, maintenance, and general polish — drag it back. With more attention to these areas, it could genuinely be special. As it stands, it’s a beautiful place let down by some very avoidable shortcomings.

Personal Touches: Whether it’s a surprise setup for a special occasion or a staff member remembering your favorite drink by day two, the attention to detail is world-class.
Authentic Hospitality: You aren't just a room number here. The team treats you like a guest in their own home, ensuring you leave with a remarkable experience rather than just a vacation memory.
The Setting: Tucked away in a marine park, the villas are stunning and integrated perfectly with nature. Waking up to the sounds of the jungle and the sight of the South China Sea is truly soul-cleansing.
Bottom line: You come for the breathtaking views and the 5-star amenities, but you’ll want to return because of the staff. They are the heartbeat of this resort. A huge thank you to the entire team for making my stay unforgettable!

Ian and I went to Gaya Island Resort in January to celebrate our birthdays. Upon our arrival we were greeted with warm smiles and we instantly felt welcome and relaxed in this beautiful island setting. Our room was very spacious, comfortable and clean and we had a lovely view of the water. The rainforest gardens surrounding our villa added to the serenity. We enjoyed our walk along the boardwalk to the beach and main complex looking at the different plants, birds and wildlife. The meals were exceptional with lots of different choices each day to accommodate the guests. The head chef, chef Dolis, prepared some amazing seafood meals for us. I received a lovely birthday surprise when the staff sang happy birthday to me and presented me with a beautiful birthday cake. Hani went out of her way to help Ian make a beautiful framed birthday message for me. We participated in the many free activities and also enjoyed an amazing massage at the day spa, guided tours through the rainforest and mangroves. Our stay at Gaya Island Resort was perfect in every way. The staff, in all roles, were kind, caring and very courteous. They always had a smile on their faces and nothing was too much trouble. We thank you all for making our holiday so memorable.

We honeymooned at Gaya Island for 7 nights and had the most amazing experience. If you are after a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that doesn't feel too over the top this is the place for you.
Amazing service, beautiful rooms (we stayed in Kinabalu Villa) and the activities / spa treatments are fabulous. Highly recommend all the adventure activities, especially the snorkelling and mangrove kayaking and getting a Malay massage. Also so many animals to see!
The staff were incredible and made sure we made the most of our package - Food at the pool bar and general restaurant were always delicious and so many options - we never got bored.
10/10 recommended, we did an all inclusive option and it was amazing value for money.

We stayed at Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa for just one night, as we wanted to explore a different part of Langkawi during our trip. Even with such a short stay, the hotel absolutely met our expectations.
This is not a boutique property — quite the opposite. It is a large, expansive resort offering plenty of facilities and attractions for all types of guests. What mattered most to us was staying in one of the beachfront cottages, and that experience was simply fantastic. Stepping directly from our terrace onto the sand was truly special. While the beach itself may not be the most spectacular on the island, morning walks and watching both sunrise and sunset were magical moments.
The staff were consistently attentive, friendly, and ready to fulfill every request with a genuine smile. The check-in process could perhaps be organised a little faster and more efficiently, but this was honestly a very minor issue for us.
The resort features two large swimming pools and excellent pool facilities for children, making it a great choice for families traveling with kids.
The location is a real winner — practically on Cenang Beach, which is vibrant both during the day and after dark. With countless restaurants, cafés, and water sports options nearby, it’s an excellent base for active travellers exploring Langkawi.
Overall, we rate this hotel very highly and can confidently recommend it.

Enjoyed my stay. Most importantly my kids had fun. Not many resort in langkawi have children pool section, so for Pelangi this is a great bonus for family vacation.

Food is good, room svc is fairly fast. Staff overall are friendly and attentive.
Location is convenient, is a long main Cenang road where you can find pretty much everything from food to pharma to whatever.
Like to give credits to the resort house keeping team, one of the housekeeper mistakenly took my daughter pillow. It was an honest mistake. Alert them, we had to fly back same day. They apologise profusely. After we got back, they kept me update on the situation, found the pillow and send it back to me, daughter was so happy.

I had a amazing stay at Pelangi Beach Resort & Spa Langkawi. Beautiful beachfront resort on the best part of Cenang. Stunning beach.
The resort has a lovely tropical island vibe and the sense of space.
The room was spacious, modern, and comfortable, with lovely Malaysian touches. The super king size bed was incredible. I loved spending time on the terrace overlooking the ocean.
Warm welcome at check-in. While waiting for my room, I was taken to the Club Lounge, which was nice. Tea and coffee available all day, and the late afternoon cocktails and canapés were a lovely bonus.
Breakfast was excellent. Spice Market has a wide Asian spread, a custom noodle station, and beautiful indoor and outdoor seating surrounded by bright pink bougainvillaea. My favourite, though, was Pelangi Grill - right by the beach, with ocean views and even Prosecco in the mornings.
The pool is huge, with plenty of space, shaded daybeds, and a very well designed kids’ pool area.
Tried the spa and it was great too.
I had dinner at Pelangi Grill overlooking the sunset. Mind-blowing view. Definitely one of the best Langkawi sunsets I've witnessed! Great food too.
The best thing about Pelangi to me is its people. Warm, genuine and friendly. I could feel he true spirits of Malaysian hospitality here.
Pelangi is spacious, low rise, kampung style, with a beautiful beach and stunning sunsets. I would happily return.

How far away could we get from London - Langkawi?
We chose a resort as this would take a lot of the stress out of traveling- we didn’t have the capacity for touring or deciding on meals etc. Boy did we make the right choice.
The capacious rooms in small chalet clusters mean that you aren’t surrounded by others. The enormous land area means that there has always been a seat or lounger by the pools or by the beach. Two very spacious restaurants mean that even at its peak breakfast isn’t cramped or empty of food.
The staff are so friendly. Marissa met us with a smile and showed us the amenities and the location of them with reference to our lake view room - we were a bit late in booking and all beach view rooms were booked - next time!
We used the spa for an aromatherapy massage and were poured out of there after 60 minutes -
Not sure how we’d have walked back if we’d chosen the 90 minute option - no fear a buggy could have dropped us to our door if necessary.
In the area there are lots of super eating places for lunch or dinner if the restaurants don’t appeal for every night.
We are half way through and I know we will be back; it really is a piece of paradise and a huge tonic for the most horrific six months that we have ever faced. A beautiful place; I cannot recommend it more highly - bliss!

A really lovely resort, located just at 10-min drive from the airport, but right on the most beautiful beach on the island. It has all the amenities you may expect from a 5-star resort, with few restaurants and bars, two pools, a kid's playground. The reception hall is rather impressive. For breakfast they serve the Asian style in one and then the Western style in another restaurant, but you can go to both and mix your food. The beach is quite nice with white soft sand and a number of bars along the beach. I would just expect more toiletries in the bathroon considering it is a 5-star property like a sewing kit, cotton pads, a shoe polish kit etc. The service could improve though. We were a group and our rooms should have been ready for us to check in by 3pm, but some of us waited till 4pm. One of the ladies in our group got stuck on the balcony as the door closed behind her and couldn't enter the room. Luckily, she had a mobile phone and even though she made frequent calls to the reception, nobody appeared for over an hour until her husband came and opened the door. That is unacceptable for any accommodation, much less for a 5-star property. Other than that, it was a pleasant stay and I would recommend it to anyone who is coming to Langkawi.

Our stay at St. Regis Langkawi was absolutely magical — truly one of the most special hotel experiences of my life.
From the moment we arrived, the level of service was simply outstanding. I can confidently say this is the best service I have ever experienced at any hotel. Every staff member was warm, attentive, professional, and genuinely caring. You don’t just feel like a guest here — you feel truly welcomed and valued.
We reserved a Suite with Private Pool and Direct Beach Access, and it was beyond perfect. Waking up, stepping out to our private pool, and walking straight onto the beach felt like living in a dream. The setting is peaceful, romantic, and breathtaking.
The beach itself was clean, quiet, and beautiful, and we loved the extra touches like beach volleyball and the lovely barbecue area, which added so much charm and fun to the experience.
Everything about St. Regis Langkawi — the atmosphere, the villas, the beach, and especially the service — made our stay unforgettable.
If you’re looking for a luxurious, romantic, and truly magical escape, I cannot recommend St. Regis Langkawi enough. We will definitely return.

One of the best resorts in Langkawi. The room I stayed in was exceptionally spacious and beautifully appointed, offering a true sense of luxury and comfort.
The service was outstanding, every member of the team was warm, attentive, and consistently greeted me by name whenever we crossed paths, which made the experience feel very personal and memorable.
The view and the beach were absolutely stunning, adding a sense of serenity and exclusivity that elevated the entire stay.

Amazing bespoke personal service with each staff member pretty much greeting you by name and remembering your preferences what you like and what you don’t like.
Beautifully appointed rooms, very spacious and comfortable very well thought out and designed.
Butler service was fantastic. Up to 4 times a day tea and coffee brought to the room and four items of pressing/ironing every single day.
The swimming pool was huge and lovely temperature.
The hotel has beautiful grounds for a walk. There is a lovely beachside walk to the Westin hotel which is part of the same Marriott group which we would take every evening.
The attention to detail of the fixture and fittings is just incredible. How many beautiful ornamental items there are through the hotel.
We were half board and breakfast was beautifully prepared with a wide variety of choices from Malaysian to Asian to Arabic to European. Every day we were greeted by name and always the staff remembered our choices and breakfast favourites.
We would regularly eat in the evening at the beach side and again the service & courtesy at the pantai grill was exceptional.
We also ate at the luxury kayuputi restaurant which serves absolutely amazing food with unbelievable levels of service.
Because there are only around 80 rooms, the hotel never feels congested and you always feel like you’re almost in your own palace most of the time.
This was our first time to Malaysia and our first time to Langkawi and hopefully we will be back and if we will be back, we will be staying at the St Regis again!

My husband and I just spent the last nine days in the water. The hotel was fantastic and we had a lovely time. The room And hotel were beautiful. The stars was Very friendly and helpful. I especially loved the wildlife (monkeys) that would visit around the resort. The breakfast buffet was incredible. However, we did find the overwater restaurant to be very small portions and expensive. We ventured over to the Westin to the tide and also the breeze restaurant which were both incredible.

My wife and I spent 10 wonderful days at The St. Regis Langkawi for our honeymoon, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish.
The hotel is stunning - elegant, peaceful, and beautifully designed. The beach is equally impressive - picturesque, calm, and ideal for relaxing and enjoying the sunsets.
The staff truly made our stay special. Everyone was incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our time there memorable. All of the staff were amazing, but we’d specifically like to thank Safuan, Shahdini, Nazz, Niko, Prem, Am and Dil for going above and beyond during our stay.
The food was consistently delicious, with great variety and quality across all the restaurants.

I had an amazing stay at Hotel Maya Kuala Lumpur with my partner during Valentine’s Day. Truly a 10/10 experience. The decoration of the hotel is beautiful and elegant, creating a very romantic and relaxing atmosphere.
The staff were extremely friendly, professional, and attentive from check in until check out. Their service made our stay feel special and comfortable. The room was clean, cozy, and well maintained, and the overall ambience of the hotel was perfect for a couple’s getaway.
Everything from the service, environment, and hospitality exceeded our expectations. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a romantic stay in Kuala Lumpur. Will definitely come back again.

Came here for staycation. Rooms were spacious and gave city view but a little bit disappointed to not to get klcc view. We got the other side facing 118 and kl tower. Pool was under construction so that is a letdown.
Room wise it was spacious. It has bathtub which was helpful to bathe my daughter. Drinks were self refill at lift using water dispenser.
Parking is free as validated. We didn't take with breakfast as wanted to explore nearby stalls.
Our daughter broke the small glass cup in toilet. Room service was quick to come n clean. I offered to pay up but the duty manager was kind enough to waive it.

Located primely and next to the Twin Tower.. Hence u need to be prepared for the traffic. Its more of a business hotel and the entrance way is a bit confusing. It has many rooms and can accomodate any group size. The rooms and swimming pool are clean and neat. U can plan a good 1-2 day stay and if your planning more than that you can opt for a cheaper and better options a bit outer and less crowded location. Btw, always a lot of construction and upgrades happening nearby.. Overall a can visit if short duration!

This hotel has seen better days. It needs to be renovated and make it contemporary and modern. The room is very basic. The location is only the saving grace but even that is still quite a walk to the twin towers

Nice location, great bed but a couple of issues that could be better.
1. No power outlets available next to bed.
2. Missing nozzles off shower heads leading to lots of water waste.
3. Glass bottles provided to fill up water at central location on level which is great sustainability wise! But the refill points don't suit the bottles leading to a mess when filling up.
4. Wifi isn't secured.
5. Currently renovating lifts, which is fine. But when on room level there is no way to know which ones are currently in operation.
6. Rooms are dated and finishes are not quality.
If your looking for a good bed in a great location then this is a cheap stay that provides this. A couple of small changes could make a difference.
