From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with a warm and genuine welcome from front office house staff. Check-in was quick and smooth, and the staff made me feel at home right away. Throughout my stay, their attentiveness and thoughtfulness truly stood out. Whether it was helping with directions, arranging reservations, or simply checking in to see how I was doing, the team consistently went the extra mile.
What impressed me most was how calm and composed they remained despite the holiday rush, especially the Front Office, Guest Relations, Concierge, F&B, Culinary team & Kids Ambassadors. It was clear they were doing everything they could to ensure each guest had a great experience and they succeeded. They handled everything with grace and care, making sure every guest felt looked after. The kids activities that has been organised were fun & awesome for the little one.
My departure was just as pleasant as my arrival, with the same friendly smiles and helpful attitude. It was a seamless end to a memorable stay. I truly appreciate the effort and hospitality from everyone and look forward to returning.

We went to celebrate easter 🐣 with the family was the best decision we could ever make! Everything organised so much fun for the kids, egg hunting, face painting, cupcakes decorations, origami egg painting.. absolutely love it! And The lunch buffet was amazing food delicious, definitely we will do the same next easter hope they have some Christmas activity like this was we will come! Thank you Aquilah and all Shangri-la team they make it really special for us❤️

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm and welcoming, always eager to help with a friendly smile. The hotel is an ideal choice for families; it’s incredibly child-friendly, with plenty of amenities that made our experience even more enjoyable. Breakfast was a delightful spread with a variety of delicious options, and we also enjoyed some tasty Malaysian food at the lobby lounge. A special thanks to Emilea who went out of her way to check on our satisfaction with both the food and service — much appreciated! Our little one had a blast, and we felt totally at ease knowing they were in such a safe and welcoming environment. I’ll definitely be recommending this hotel to friends and family, and we can’t wait to return!

The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. The resort is in a great location, with beautiful pools, and facilities. They even had board games in the reception area for kids to be entertained. Felt like they cared. I had a small issue with the room but they were very understanding. The lady we dealt with Asvathy Utrrapathi was very helpful and made sure we were happy. She even gave us complementary dinner which l really appreciated. Some of the staff went way and above. I'd like to thank shah who cleaned our room and made animal figures from decorative towels. Angeline the tour advisor was very helpful and friendly and gave us lots of advice on where to go. The staff at breakfast Mr Balu, Melissa and Marianni were very friendly and made sure we were happy. I'd definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and looking forward to returning again one day

We’ve had a lovely time here. Our sea facing room on the 6th floor was beautifully serviced by Afzal and nothing was too much trouble for him or any other member of staff for that matter. Everyone seemed hard working and they made us so welcome at all times. The seaview was worth paying for and the lounge in the lobby was lovely.
Breakfasts which were usually very busy (there is a board out showing when to expect queues,) had a wonderful choice, although muesli may be something you could add. We enjoyed the pools as we couldn’t go in the sea due to jellyfish. Maybe you could net off an area
to protect guests from the jelly fish which is what some hotels do?
We would definitely return if our travels permit us!

5 stars for room. No fault detected. Water pressure is good for sink, showers & bidet.
5 stars for service. The services rendered were excellent & the hotel staff were friendly & helpful. More training to be given to newer staff at the reception counter on giving accurate direction & info. I believed the receptionist came from India & we have difficulty understanding her. No issues from the other receptionist.
The international breakfast buffet (6.30 - 10.30am) has a vast range of variety. It's worthy of the $$ & time spent.
3 stars for location. We are not beach & water activity lovers. No shopping malls within 3 km radius of this resort. We managed to catch a clear sunset.

Fabulous hotel and facilities, and wonderful friendly staff throughout the complex. Room with balcony was good size and bed was super comfortable with a good choice of pillows to suit. Location ideal for us, with easy access to clean beach, and easy half hour away to Georgetown. Buffet breakfast was an amazing international experience, not to be missed.

Despite the hotel being slightly dated, the rooms are spacious and nicely organised. Staff are kind and caring - with a massive shoutout to Izwan (who was always looking out for us and made us feel special). The breakfast was varied and delicious. The best part was the swimming pool with an incredible view of the sea. Overall a 5 star experience for a couple. Would truly recommend

Great location for a secluded holiday, impressive service and amazing food! We had an absolute memorable time right from check in to check out. Very courteous service, fantastic bars and restaurants, good pool areas for everyone and a private beach. If one thing I would have liked better is the beach, it’s more a lagoon and water level goes down by evening exposing the swampy land below. The best highlight for us was the Indian kitchen, the chef’s delighted us with our food of choice and all the preparations we had were lip smacking yummy. A special mention to Chef Mahesh for the great dinners. Hope to be back again soon.

I recently stayed in one of their Rainforest Chalets, and it was a truly relaxing and memorable experience. Nestled in the lush greenery of the rainforest, the chalet offered a peaceful escape surrounded by nature’s sounds – perfect for unwinding.
The chalet had a warm, rustic charm with a private balcony that opened up to the forest. Inside, it was clean and comfortable, with modern amenities like air conditioning and a spacious bathroom. The wooden floorboards were very creaky, which was noticeable once you walk on it, especially at night, but it added to the old-world feel of the place.
One small but thoughtful gesture really stood out – a staff member came by to restock the minibar without us even asking, and when he noticed we don’t drink alcohol, he kindly offered to replace the beers with soft drinks instead. That level of attentiveness and flexibility really added a personal touch to our stay.
The resort itself is large and beautifully maintained, with convenient shuttle service to get around. The staff throughout were friendly and welcoming, always ready to help.
Overall, I’d definitely recommend the Rainforest Chalet at Berjaya Resort for anyone looking for a nature-immersed retreat with great service and comfort – just be prepared for a few creaks and quirks that come with staying in the heart of the rainforest.

Family of 4, 7-night stay over Easter 2025.
We booked a family 2-bedroom suite through Booking.com, but at check-in, the reservation was not recognized, and we were given
interconnecting rooms instead—different from what we had paid for. After discussing with management, several hours later they offered us an over-water villa with a single suite and extra beds in the sitting area. While not what we originally expected, this was a welcome & thankful improvement.
Staffing levels seemed insufficient for the number of guests, leading to long wait times at the restaurants. Although the food quality was good and reasonably priced, service delays were frustrating. The villas themselves showed signs of wear and required refurbishment and better maintenance. Additionally, the WiFi was unreliable and spotty throughout our stay.
We noticed some health and safety concerns around the beach and pool areas, particularly sharp edges near water drainage grates. It was also disappointing to see sports center staff smoking while organizing activities like banana boat rentals. On a positive note, the beach area was pleasant and contributed to a relaxing holiday overall.
Despite the peaceful environment and good food, the combination of service issues, maintenance needs, and safety concerns means we would not choose to return.

Special mentioned to Assistant Manager Hafi. He is very patient and client centric. He listened attentively and understood customer needs. The resort must be very proud to have a staff member like him. The room is clean and staff are very smiley, well mannered and helpful. Large varieties of breakfast spread. The Thai restaurant ambiance is great. the food portion is small, though, but very tasty. Wifi reception and TV signal quality can be improved. It's not a place to see full sunrise as it is blocked by hills, but still, a place able to catch an awesome sunset. Overall, it is great because of the human touch and services. Kudos to Mr. Hafi again. I will be back here again!

It’s been awhile since i visited any Berjaya hotels. enjoyed my stay at the rainforest chalet. Near the main building, which was good for a short walk during peak periods.
The private beach was a nice spot for sunbathing and a refreshing dip. housekeeping staff were also prompt and friendly. Would return!

Our room was spacious, spotless, and tastefully decorated. Highlight was the amazing sea view.
Both swimming pools were amazing. The infinity pool had the best ocean view, especially during sunset. The lower pool was perfect for relaxing and enjoying with kids. Everything was clean and well taken care of.
Breakfast had a good mix of local and international food. The restaurant staff were genuinely kind and helpful, always smiling and ready to assist.
I especially loved the calm atmosphere, and the quiet beach just steps away. It felt like a real escape from the busy world. Everything about this resort impressed us.

I wanted to express my gratitude for the wonderful experience I had during my stay at your hotel. The location was perfect, providing a stunning view of the sunset that I absolutely loved. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the reception and farewell services were truly exceptional.
If the room cleaning service were a bit faster, it would have elevated the experience even further, as the in-room dining service was excellent, with meals arriving hot and delicious. It seems the hotel is quite new, giving an inviting ambiance that encourages a return visit. Additionally, the breakfast was outstanding.

We recently stayed at PARKROYAL Langkawi and had a truly memorable experience. We booked an ocean view room and are so glad we did — the view was absolutely stunning and worth every bit. The room itself was modern, beautifully designed, and spotlessly clean, with a spacious bathroom and a balcony perfect for unwinding. We especially appreciated the ceiling fan, which was a nice touch to keep things cool without relying solely on air conditioning.
The pool area is a standout feature — large, inviting, and overlooking the ocean. There’s also a bar and a stylish lounge area, where you can relax during the day or enjoy live music in the evenings, which added a really nice atmosphere to our stay.
The food was another highlight. Breakfast offered a generous and diverse spread, and both lunch and dinner menus were equally impressive — delicious dishes with plenty of variety.
The location of the resort is excellent, offering easy access to local attractions while still feeling like a peaceful escape.
If there’s one area for improvement, it would be the pool lounge chairs. Unfortunately, they were quite uncomfortable — more like outdated deck chairs than what you’d expect at a 5-star resort. It would really elevate the poolside experience if these were upgraded to more modern, cushioned loungers like those at comparable properties.
Aside from that, everything else was exceptional. Thank you to the team at PARKROYAL Langkawi for a fantastic stay — we’d love to return!

Everything at this resort is brand new, squeaky clean and high-end. We got the ocean view rooms, and the view from the balcony was absolutely worth it. The pool and beach area is ideal for the kids, and the restaurants are pretty good. A bunch of shops within walking distance as well, including car and bike rentals. The staff is extremely helpful and everyone speaks English. Great experience overall!

5 Star hardware, rooms are amazing! We are staying at the sea view rooms 60 square meters, super spacious. But the service is just not there, start from when we arrived at the hotel no staff attended to us that we have to move our own luggages, drinking expired coconut water at the pool bar, then nothing available on the dessert menu from the restaurant to pina colada taste like weird pineapple juice with no coconut milk/cream in it. The management team really need to do some revolutionary change otherwise this hotel is going no where, all the luxury design and built is wasted.

Me, my husband (Jay) and our little girl stayed here during our first few days in Sabah. It was such a pleasant stay, we left with a very very heavy heart. Each and every staff here made us feel so much at home. Thank u Miss Sharleen and the rest of the team for being so kind and generous . We stayed in the garden wing. It was a well equipped ,spacious room. There's ample of activities provided by the hotel. The facilities here are all well maintained and kept clean. The food was good too. Perfect place for families who love nature and want to be away from the hustle and bustle of life. This was by far the best hotel me and my family have stayed in. Thank you for the great experience and hospitality. We will be back surely ! :)

I celebrated my daughter turning 1 and this was the most amazing vacation my family and I have taken. The staff truly made this a memorable trip for my daughters. They will talk about this for ever. I want to personally think the golf cart drivers and the kids club staff. They were amazing and so accommodating. We will be back and would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed recently for a few nights in this hotel with the family including 2 young kids. Our experience was great. The facilities and pool are very well maintained and looked after. The kids had a fantastic time and enjoyed the pool. There are also plenty of an activities offered which made the time just fly past. Food offerings have been great as well. Most importantly all the staff has been very friendly and helpful. Special mention to Allen who helped us to also accommodate my wife’s food allergies. Overall truly a 5 Star experience and we will come back for sure.

This ia a lovely hotel located right on the beach. We stayed in the "Garden Wing" The room was spacious and had a lovely hot shower. It was well equipped with a kettle, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. There are massages available together with walks in the nature reserve. There is also a beautiful swimming pool.
The staff were amazing. Although it was Chinese New Year and extremely busy the staff were always helpful, courteous and always smiling.
The prices of the food and drinks were very reasonable. As for the buffet breakfast, there were vast arrays of food which catered for everyone. There is also a buffet restaurant which is amazing serving lobster tails and seafood in abundance, vegetarian, BBQ, Asian and many more. There was even roast beef and roast lamb with horseradish and mint sauce.
We could find no fault with this hotel. Unfortunately we only had a two night stay here but it was fabulous.

Today i experienced a wonderful surprise for my annivesary when i checked in to Rasa Ria, not only did we receive a room upgrade thanks to Natasha at the front counter, but also a wonderful decor wishing me happy birthday (my anniversary & birthday are one day apart) A birthday I would definitely remember. I had the absolute privilege of staying at this incredible resort last weekend, and I truly can't say enough about the outstanding hospitality. From the moment I arrived, the staff were warm, accommodating, and full of genuine smiles — it made such a difference.
Travelling with a newborn is no easy feat, but choosing this resort was hands-down the right call. I voiced a few concerns about my room, and not only were they taken seriously, but I could tell that guest experience is something the team here values deeply — possibly even the hotel manager stepped in to ensure everything was handled smoothly.

I had an amazing stay at this hotel! The ambiance was absolutely superb, with every corner reflecting elegance and comfort. The room renovation was done with great taste, offering a modern yet cozy atmosphere. The restaurant provided a 5-star experience — the service was impeccable, and the food was absolutely delicious!
The swimming pool was huge and beautiful, perfect for a relaxing swim or lounging. I also appreciated how kid-friendly the hotel was, with plenty of activities to keep the little ones entertained.
The spa package and service were also top-notch — truly the best I’ve experienced.
Highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a fantastic getaway!

We spent a week here recovering from from an active couple of weeks in Borneo and Penang and found it to be the perfect place to relax and unwind. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was spotlessly clean, recently refurbished and the bed was very comfortable. Housekeeping was very enthuiastic - everything was replenised promptly (we ended up with 16 unused litre bottles of water, despite drinking about 4 a day!) Thre main restaurant served a good range of international dishes or, if you prefer a buffet, the Spice Market had an extensive array of Malaysian food. As the weather was unusually dry for this time of year we were able to eat all of our meals outside next to the beach.
The pool is amazing - huge, clean and with masses of sunbeds and parasols. The bar stff give you a buzzer to call for drinks and the children's pool is full of water features. We were slightly bemused by the "It's always dangerous to swim in the sea" notices but we did anyway and we lived to tell the tale (as did everyone else!)
We did have a minor issue while we were there but the management dealt with it effectively which is always the sign of a good hotel and didn't impact on the quality of our stay there.
Finally, I just need to reassure anyone who has looked the the proximity of the hotel to the end of the airport runway and wondered about aircfaft noise - there is - however there are only a dozen or so flights a day in and out and you only hear the noise of those taking off for a few seconds and even then it's not excessive - it's actually something to watch and far less intrusive than jet skis and power boats that plage some beach resorts.
In summary - this is an excellent hotel which I cannot fault in any respect and I can recommend it without reservation.

The resort is a destination not just a hotel. There are a salt water pool, one fresh water lake, one fresh water pool within the resort to with a huge private beach curving throughout the boundary with one side being very quite if you prefer hanging out with just the people you’re with and the other side more public as it’s attached to the neighboring resort.
Rooms are designed as Huts each with 4 rooms 2 on ground and 2 on upper floor so it’s an ideal stay if you have a family (you can occupy a whole hut with 4 rooms each room with balconies opening either towards Pool or Beach depending on room number)
There’s a small zoo as well with some goats, swans, ducks etc but it was being renovated when i stayed there and i was told they are adding more animals soon.
Breakfast is amazing with a huge variety of all sorts of cuisine.
The nearby market has Arabic, Malay (Local), Indian restaurants and is really enjoyable to walk through in the evening through night with a lot of small shops, massage parlors and 7/11 etc.

Value for money, this hotel is great. You can’t beat the prices for a mid level 5 star hotel like this one.
The pools have all been renovated which help a lot. Breakfast is great with both western and Asian options. My partner and I reallly enjoyed it.
Location is great as well with sunset views and a great beach near local restaurants.
Room is big and bathroom storage room is massive too.

We had a lovely stay at the St Regis. We booked the Penthouse Suite and were really impressed by the property and the overall service. The team was kind enough to arrange a complimentary pick up and drop off. The butler service was extraordinary and certainly made us feel more pampered. The property itself is amazing. The living room was large with breathtaking views of the sea and nearby islands. The deck is well furnished and can accommodate many people - it is also overlooking the property gardens and the beach. The main restaurant in the hotel has lot of options and will also take requests. They also have a fine dining restaurant which is on top of the water and a great sunsent view.
The only downside is that the beach seems to be from reclaimed land and seemed more like a swamp with no waves. I didn't see anyone going into the water for a swim.
If you're looking for a relaxing holiday with good food, great service and scenic views, this is a great place. However, if you want to go in the sea for a swim, it might be better to look for a different property.

An exceptional stay at the St Regis Langkawi. I returned after nearly 8 years and the hotel as a whole is very well maintained and managed.
The staffs as always are very attentive with laser focused services.
The room is of a decent size and with a great view to the beach. The breakfast, lunch and dinner at the hotel were absolutely fantastic!
We had an unforgettable experience, and will return in the not so long distant future.

Had a really good time when visited in October. Started off with some issues, but the staff was quick to fix the issue.
Overall staff were really good!
The food was amazing as I'm sure you can tell from the photos.
Did a cooking lesson, not amazing, but it was entertaining enough and we had fun.
The drinks were also great and we enjoyed our time in the decanter room for afternoon drinks.
Massage treatments were great. Bit on the pricey side, but that's to be expected at a hotel like this.
Overall, it was a great experience, and we will be back again.

Stunning! Luxury and refinement here and customer service above and beyond, so kind and thoughtful at all times. Small but beautiful hotel next to a pretty marina overlooking a peaceful bay and neighbouring islands. We ate at the Italian which was incredible and very good value. We had treatments which were amazing and lovely ladies too great care of us throughout. Very safe and extremely comfortable.. especially the beds!! Love this perfect retreat. Thoroughly recommend!

Having stayed at The Datai Langkawi and being a regular at The Ritz-Carlton, I found The Danna Langkawi to be a fantastic alternative for those seeking a luxury resort experience in Langkawi. The hotel offers a calm, protected beach, a scenic poolside and beautiful interior design, all perfect for relaxation.
We stayed in the Marina 4 Bay Suite, an ultra-luxurious suite offering impressive space and amenities. The suite featured a formal and informal dining room, a spacious living room, a full-service kitchen, two bedrooms, a private pool, sauna, and even a workout space. The suite was exceptional value for money, in comparison to what was offered at other peer resorts.
Service at The Danna Langkawi was impeccable. The staff were attentive, warm, and always went the extra mile to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Their personalised service truly made us feel valued throughout our stay.
The location is great, with Cenang, Kuah, Langkawi International Airport, and Tanjung Rhu all easily accessible. They also have great dining options in the hotel itself.
We truly enjoyed our stay at The Danna Langkawi and would happily return, especially to try one of their beach villas next time.

We absolutely loved our stay at The Danna Langkawi. The facilities were amazing, the rooms were super spacious with the most incredible views, and everything just felt so well thought out and luxurious without being over the top.
The food was insane — honestly some of the best we’ve had, and the service was just so warm and attentive the whole time. Every little detail was taken care of.
We’re now staying at another 5-star resort that’s supposed to be even more high-end… but all we keep saying is how we wish we stayed at The Danna for the rest of our trip instead. That’s how good it was.
Can’t recommend it enough — already dreaming about coming back!

A luxury escape day. We bought the day pass and it was worth every penny. The day pass price is also credit for drinks and food. The pool is extraordinary and the beach was deserted. Just a dream. One of the best 5 star hotels I have stayed in. Everything was perfect. It was funny though when I booked the Terrace for tea. I asked about my attire as I had a silk flowery coord, shorts and a short sleeved shirt. My Mrs had a lovely dress on. Receiption checked and said it was okay. On arrival I got told no shorts so they gave me some linen pants. And my Mrs had to wear a shawl as the gorgeous dress she was wearing was too revealing. Then when we were eating they had kids in there wearing sports shorts and t shirts. Food was amazing so we just laughed.

Truly the most incredible resort we have ever stayed. This hotel feels like a 6 star. I wish we booked longer! The rooms, facilities, experiences and activities are amazing. Most importantly the staff, attention to detail and the service is what makes this place so special. We’re already planning our trip to come back next year.

Having travelled extensively across SE Asia over several years, The Datai is outstanding.
The thing that makes this hotel standout is the service from everyone at the hotel - from the gardeners, to the drivers, cleaners and obviously the waiting staff. Hand made chocolates in the room each nice were amazing. I have to also congratulate the pastry chef who produced better morning croissants than any hotel we’ve stayed at (including in Paris). The rotis were great too.
The sustainability efforts this hotel makes are also incredible. Zero waste to landfill and even using special processes to use plastic as a compost. Craft centre built from old wine bottles.
We travelled as a family of 3 with a 6 year old. Worth noting that kids cannot use the main pool at the top, but can use the smaller family pool by the beach. The beach pool felt a little crowded but to be expected during Easter holidays and there was more than enough space on the enormous beach. It would’ve been nice to use the larger pool but understand adults want peace and quiet. The beach was stunning with food and drinks served.
Kids also cannot use the main bar after 8pm, which I think was a shame for those children who are well behaved / quiet - we usually enjoy a family card game and a cocktail after dinner in the bar. It would be great if the hotel would reconsider this policy.
For anyone that appreciates architecture, this hotel is one to see. Considering it was built in 1993, its timeless design should still look great in years to come.
Activities were good, but quite limited. I tried to book rainforest walks etc. but they were all booked up unfortunately. Would’ve been nice to be able to book more private activities rather than rely on space being available in group sessions. Something I’d like the hotel to offer in the future, if possible.
We stayed at the Four Seasons Langkawi afterwards but preferred the Datai due to more authentic design, character and personality. The FS did have a kids club, which was better, but the Datai did offer kids film nights and some supervised activities during the day, but not a full-on kids club.
Overall a wonderful stay and the only hotel I’ve ever felt home sick after leaving - we’ll be back!

Our vacation at The Datai was one for the books. The resort had exceptional service, accommodation and food, but what really stood out was their commitment to sustainability. The wildlife in the area aren’t aggressive and it’s obvious that they aren’t fed by humans to keep coming back to the area. The highlights of our trip were the morning and evening nature walks where the guides were knowledgeable and passionate about the grounds. Overall, a great trip that we’d repeat over and over again.

Undoubtedly one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. The location and setting is just stunning, set in the middle of a rainforest, on the most beautiful beach. There are monkeys and wildlife everywhere you look. The service is next level, with the most friendly and attentive staff - even someone offering to clean your sunglasses on the beach. The rooms are huge, the food is delicious, I honestly can't fault it.
