I loved everything about this resort!! From the super friendly and accommodating staff to the marvelous breakfast I enjoyed every morning. The staff at breakfast make it their business to learn your name. They greet you with such joy! The food was a smorgasbord of breakfast, lunch and dinner items. Everything was delicious.
We didn’t have an itinerary but the staff connected us with everything we wanted to do. I love this place and you will too!

My recent stay at The Sakala Resort Nusa Dua was nothing short of extraordinary. This 5-star resort exceeded my expectations in every way, but it was the staff's warmth and genuine hospitality that truly made our stay unforgettable.
Our lower-ground unit was immaculately clean and well-maintained, with every detail carefully considered. But it was the resort's facilities that truly shone:
- Multiple pools to choose from, each with its own unique character
- A stunning beach club with direct access to the beach and a range of water sports
- Exceptional dining at the resort's restaurant, with a menu that catered to every taste and craving
- A state-of-the-art gym that was fully equipped and immaculately maintained
- A serene wellness spa that offered blissful treatments and a tranquil atmosphere
But what truly set The Sakala Resort apart was its staff. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like family – with warmth, kindness, and genuine enthusiasm. They went above and beyond to make our stay special, even surprising us with a romantic room decoration and celebration after a surprise engagement.

We had a two-night stay at this hotel, and overall it was quite enjoyable. The hotel has a stunning lobby and an amazing outdoor pool with a poolside bar where you can order drinks and food while relaxing in the pool. However, there's room for improvement in the bar menu, as the cocktail options were limited, and the bartenders, although friendly, could benefit from expanding their drink-making knowledge. The room was clean, and we loved its beautiful design.
Breakfast was excellent, with many options to choose from. The restaurant's layout was a bit inconvenient, as different food sections were spread far apart, requiring multiple trips back and forth. Consolidating the food into one area would greatly improve the dining experience.
Regarding location, being right by the beach was a plus, but the hotel is rather far from the city, making it a bit inconvenient for those looking to enjoy the nightlife. Despite this, I would still recommend this hotel, as our overall experience was pleasant and enjoyable.

As a former Ritz Carlton culinary management employee in the US, I believe I can corroborate that the Sakala Hotel is absolutely a 5 stars establishment.
Me and my family spent last weekend there and everything was top notch.
Incredible staff attention, a beautiful and great size room, good food, and amazing location.
Major plus for parents is their kids club where the kiddos really had fun and didn't want to leave, which really allowed my wife and I to enjoy our time even more.
First time there, but definitely not the last.
The whole family is looking forward to staying there again !

Beware of the cancellation policy prior to booking. We made a booking at this hotel for July 2025 and believe that the promise of a private beachfront hotel are quite exaggerated with only a small sectioned off area to fit that criteria. We asked for a refund and were told no, as per their booking policy. I have since asked twice for an explanation as to why they cannot refund and have not received a response. Had I booked with a secondary site such as booking.com etc... the price was fully refundable, but when booking direct, you are not entitled. Be very, very careful and vigilant when booking direct. Your money is much safer through a secondary site.

Excellent service and the most helpful staff!
Beautiful setting by Byrdhouse and nicely done up rooms. The pool was great for families and nice touch with the ice baths and attentive lifeguards.
Really appreciated the room for us to shower after our check out and before our flight! Really thoughtful.
We also really appreciated the cookies they put on our bed every night -- so sweet and thoughtful.
Only suggestion is to make the kids room open to all kids, not only if they pay an extra fee as there were very few kids in the playroom because of that. Most of the hotels we have been at have a kids room which we found really great for the kids to hang out.

Absolutely perfect location! lots of beach restuarants!, short walk to ICON if you need something more modern, enough local markets and massage to keep those looking for local shops busy for a few days (massage mainly on the street in front of ICON).
The resort though....great friendly service as always, and daily breakfast suitable for everyone, though the rooms are run down and in need of an upgrade or improvement.
No privacy for bathrooms in the deluxe rooms (photos are deceiving when we booked, it's all in one room with frosted glass) and the showers are in need of maintanence (have a shower with water, but nothing hits you) and you share a outdoor area with the room next to you. Otherwise, maybe better than most places.
The seperate pool bar is a great idea, small and cosy and a great spot to spend a relaxing afternoon, but only if they could keep the kids out of the area, that was really frustrating, especially with the kids pool 15 metres away. We had to leave in the end when staff didn't do anything about it, nor the parents.
Loved the ability to use facilites after checkout (shower rooms, though they need a major clean and are in a bad state of repair)
The only disappointment was that we went there for my wifes surprise 50th (while we stayed there). I was trying to organise a special dinner, the resort was emailed before going (and by our agent), informed on arrival and informed a few days later again. NO response at all. Wasn't expecting much, but at least an acknowledgement or wanting to know how I could make it special. Just gave up in the end. We dont travel often, so it was a disappointing missed opportunity.
Overall though, if you need the perfect location, this was a good choice and we had a great time outside of the resort (albiet looking past the quality of the rooms, but they were cleaned well) this is a really good spot ot go. The resort grounds are really well looked after, the main pool seems good (didn't use it) and the front beach area was a great spot to be at all times of the day.

A true gem in Sanur – the perfect blend of comfort, nature, and heartfelt hospitality
The best hotel in this price range! While it’s a large property, it’s beautifully designed with lush greenery and a relaxed, peaceful atmosphere throughout.
There are three inviting pools to swim and unwind in – and for those who enjoy a bit more: there are even two ice baths, which are incredibly refreshing!
Waking up to birdsong in the morning is pure bliss, and the colorful, generous breakfast buffet gives you all the energy you need for the many activities on offer.
Food lovers will be thrilled too: the hotel’s own Byrdhouse restaurant serves excellent dishes – and in my opinion, the best pizza in all of Bali!
Despite its size, the hotel feels very personal. The management is attentive, warm, and professional – you feel at home from the very first moment.
I can wholeheartedly recommend Segara Village Hotel and would return in a heartbeat.

We stayed here for 4 nights, 2 adults and 9 year old. The grounds are SO beautiful and well kept, the staff are amazing. Rooms have great air con and wifi, they are spotless and cleaned every day.
Breakfast at Byrd House had many options and was delicious. It does get busy around 8-9 and can be hard to get a table as people stay there for a very long time but it is a great breakfast. We also had lunch, drinks and snacks at Byrd House on the beachfront which, while not the cheapest, you can understand why as it was top quality and a great atmosphere. Room service was also great.
There is a main pool near the restaurant which has a good vibe with the music, a quieter pool towards the back, a “swim up” bar (although it’s small with seats around it so you don’t actually swim there). We never had a problem getting a chair near a pool.
We had bungalow 462 which is at the back of the hotel so a further walk to the restaurant and pools but it was so private and peaceful. I’ve seen reviews that say the club is noisy over the weekend but we couldn’t hear it at all from our area - can understand it would be annoying for those closer to the front of the resort.
Great location with a million restaurants nearby, right on the beach, Icon mall a few minutes walk away which I know some people disagree with but I found it really interesting and my daughter loved visiting!
Added bonuses were welcome drinks, cookies left on your bed every night and free fruit skewers around the pool at times. Playground for kids and a ping pong table.
Overall a really beautiful place. We will definitely stay here next time we’re in Sanur!

A Disappointing Experience at Segara Village Hotel, Sanur
This is the first negative review I have ever felt compelled to write. Unfortunately, my experience at Segara Village Hotel was deeply disappointing compared to other Bali resorts, this was by far the worst.
The biggest issue was the repeatedly poor customer service and intrusive policies. On two consecutive nights, hotel staff called my bungalow at 9:00 PM to demand immediate payment for a coconut drink I'd had at the resort pool during the day and the next night, for an extra room reception they'd earlier assured me would be charged to my credit card they had on file.
This was not only inconvenient but also inconsiderate. I had a sleeping three-year-old granddaughter in my room. The issue stemmed from their own internal mismanagement: earlier in the day, I was asked for my room number instead of payment when ordering at the pool. Rather than resolving this in a professional and guest-friendly manner, they panicked at night and disturbed my peace. Shockingly, over a $3 NZ coconut water, my offer to settle the bill in the morning was refused and a staff member turned up at my door with a mobile cash machine.
As a company director, I recognize when a business has serious operational flaws, and Segara Village Hotel’s payment system is poorly managed. Chasing guests late at night over small charges is both unprofessional and unacceptable.
Bali is known for its warmth and hospitality, but sadly, this hotel felt more like Disneyland without a heart. Polished on the surface but completely lacking in genuine care for its guests.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this stunning beachfront hotel, and it was an unforgettable experience. The property boasts direct access to the beach, making it perfect for those who love the sun, sand, and sea. The ambiance is simply breathtaking—a beautiful blend of a Balinese palace with a vintage-meets-modern twist, creating a serene and luxurious atmosphere.
What truly stood out during my stay was the exceptional service. The hotel staff were extremely helpful, friendly, courteous, and professional. They always had warm smiles and were eager to assist with anything we needed, making us feel genuinely welcomed.
The pools were clean and well-maintained, with plenty of seating options, whether we wanted to lounge under the sun or relax in the shade. However, the absolute highlight of our stay was the breakfast buffet. The selection was incredibly diverse, featuring local and international cuisines—from Continental and Indian to Asian, European, American, Japanese, and Middle Eastern dishes. The fruits were fresh and delicious**, and we especially loved the freshly squeezed juices** as well as the healthy beverages** made with carrot, beetroot, cucumber, celery, pineapple, and spinach.
One minor downside was that the ocean view was slightly affected by receding water** during our stay, though this was beyond the hotel's control. Additionally, while some areas of the room showed subtle signs of aging, the overall cleanliness and maintenance were impeccable.
Despite these small drawbacks, I highly recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again in the future. If you're looking for a tranquil beach getaway with outstanding service, delicious food, and a unique Balinese-inspired ambiance, this is the perfect choice!

Spent 5 nights at this resort and was were “woo’d” the moment we pulled in the driveway. Beautiful Balinese welcome with dancer, music, cool face towel and welcome drink! All so very lovely!
We had the “all inclusive package” and on the surface it seems like a good deal, we did feel a little trapped in the resort as we wanted to make the most of the package. Apart from
The “free flow drinks between 3-6” drinks needed to be paid for. Even just standard water at $2 Aud a glass. The prices in the resort were on par with Australian prices. I felt that the hotel itself is dated and could use a revamp. The rooms were Balinese themed and poorly designed but felt tired. The pillows were 95% air and deflated as soon as you put your head on them, I’ve never experienced anything like it, extremely uncomfortable! We couldn’t sit on the balcony as the condensation/drips of water landed directly on the chairs. Lots of mould and rotting wood on the balcony. For a 5 star resort I would have expected a smart TV, we could only watch grainy free to air channels. The pool had broken tiles everywhere - although it was quite lovely and big. Not enough sun beds around the pool and they were usually gone by 9am with towels on them… the restaurants were also booked out in advance too… wasn’t a fan of the breakfast, there was a lot of choice however no bacon! I thought it was a Muslim thing, but they had ham… so couldn’t figure that out! At first we felt the staff treated us differently as we were on the all inclusive package, but that got better as the time went on… just be mindful if you need a shop, it’s a fair distance to walk or rent a bike for $7.50 and hour (in comparison, it cost us $11 in a grab taxi to go to Kuta 30 min away)… I probably wouldn’t stay here again especially with kids as they got bored quite easily.

One of the most exceptional resorts I have had the pleasure of staying at. The resort offers an unparalleled experience with its exclusive beachfront private access, a wide range of amenities, and exceptional staff service. Guests can indulge in various activities without leaving the premises, including relaxation at the Calm spa and pool, rejuvenation in the steam and sauna room, and dining with breathtaking beach views. The resort also organises a variety of activities and special events that enhance the overall guest experience.
While the resort excels in many areas, there are a few areas that could benefit from improvement. Some of the room furnishings, such as the bedhead, chairs, and sofas, have been observed to have noticeable stains, which is unexpected for a five-star hotel. Similarly, the chairs at the breakfast area have also been found to be stained.
Despite these minor issues, the resort maintains a daily cleaning schedule and provides a satisfactory level of cleanliness. However, it would be beneficial for the resort to implement a more thorough deep cleaning process to ensure that all areas are thoroughly cleaned.
The resort offers a plethora of photographic opportunities, allowing guests to explore the surrounding area and capture stunning views, particularly during sunrise and sunset. Additionally, the resort’s location is highly advantageous, providing a safe, quiet, and convenient proximity to the Bali Collection shopping centre. Guests can conveniently walk to the shopping centre.
Overall, I highly recommend this resort and anticipate returning for future stays.

The hotel itself is absolutely lovely—a true resort-style escape. The swimming pool is great for relaxing, and the staff deserve a special mention: they’re incredibly helpful, professional, and genuinely warm. The spa is also a highlight—calm, well-designed, and perfect for unwinding.
Now, while I enjoyed my stay overall, I did notice that some of the rooms are starting to show their age. A bit of a refresh would go a long way, as certain areas feel a little outdated or oddly styled.
That said, my main reservation isn’t about the hotel, but the location. Nusa Dua is very secluded. If you’re looking for a peaceful retreat away from the bustle, it’s ideal. But personally, I prefer a more balanced vibe—like what you get in Sanur, where there’s a nice mix of local charm, a bit of city energy, and still that relaxed beach feel.
So, in short: beautiful hotel, excellent service, peaceful setting—but Nusa Dua might not be for everyone, especially if you like to be more connected to local life.

The hotel is clean and the housekeeping service is terrific. The hospitality of the staff was very helpful and welcoming.
The hotel pools were nice however there were limited pool chairs and many were claimed but not occupied by guests, meaning sometimes you were unable to secure a poolside chair for hours.
The catering at the restaurants was satisfactory but compared to meals at adjacent hotels, the quality of the food could be improved and the food was also comparatively a lot more expensive.

We absolutely love coming to Griya Santrian. The resort has a lovely feel to it, more traditional in style, is clean and the staff are very accomodating.
We found their breakfast to be good but the quality of the food in the restaurant for lunch/dinner has gone down. The pool bar is a big plus and their cocktails are excellent.
This year though, I’m not sure I recommend staying until they’ve completed their renovations. They advised us renovations won’t be complete for another year.
Renovations are 9am to 5pm every day, including weekends. Once even after hours. Please see the videos.
We were only told of the renovations about 2 weeks before our stay and it was suggested that they wouldn’t inconvenience our stay much. I disagree with this a bit. They chose to do renovation work next to the front pool and the middle pools at the same time, so there is no part of the resort to get away from the noise, except the beachfront. The front pool was better than the middle pools as the construction was more intermittent at the front.
For the cost of accomodation and as a standard expected, they really shouldn’t be doing renovations at multiple points throughout the resort and should have informed guests earlier with the option of changing accomodation.
Overall though we still enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming again once the renovations are finished.
Sunday In December
Second time staying at Griya Santrian. This hotel is all comfort, serenity, and old-fashioned service. You can not help but feel relaxed and cared for here. The immaculate Balinese gardens are so beautiful and peaceful. The 3 pools are luxurious, and each one seems to have a different personality to suit your mood or preference. The buffet breakfasts are such a treat - You can have amazingly fresh fruit, freshly cooked eggs, pancakes, cereal/toast, pastries, and Indonesian options, along with as much coffee/tea as you can drink. And you eat whilst staring at the beautiful sea. The staff are corteous and friendly. The streets of Sanur are just outside with many fun shopping options. 3 Monkeys Cafe down the road does excellent dinners. The boardwalk in front of the hotel is a people watching paradise, and the beach itself is calm and lovely. You can use the kayaks for free and hire bicycles for almost nothing.
Griya Santrian is our happy place.

Loved Griya .. fantastic pool area with swim up bar right on the beach.. Live music some nights. Breakfast is 7 out of 10 .. Great location. But getting extremely pricey now same price as most Australian or European hotels/ resorts per night.. Maybe affordable for a stronger money like USA but too expensive for Aussie dollar .. but still a wonderful place to visit

This place was lovely despite what I experienced the day I arrived and after I checked out.
I came on a motorbike with my surfboards and baggage. The security guy harassed us by not parking at the lobby entrance (there was no guest/car at that time. First, we are not parking, we dropped in. Second, parkiran kalian itu jauh loh, mana sedang hujan. Gate security secara spesifik minta kami langsung turunkan barang di lobby, tapi by entrance kami di hardik gak boleh berbelok ke arah lobby utama. Kasar sekali! The room located on the 2nd floor, quiet at night, but I feel annoyed by renovation noise during the day. The AYCE breakfast was amazing. The pool bar, the pool itself and the jacuzzi was amazing. Until I checked out. I realized I left my beach saroong in the bathroom. I am 100% sure it was there. I called the hotel a couple days after but they lost it, claiming that there was nothing valuable found after I was gone. It's just a saroong I know, but it was my Mom's gift before she passed.
This prestigious resort has disappointed us!
On the same night before, I saw a cleaning crew collect bras, bikinis and stuff after a couple. Were you also claiming that stuff was gone in the thin air???

We really liked staying here and particularly because you could dine and swim directly on the beach. The customer service was absolutely fantastic. The only thing I would say is that the deluxe garden rooms are a little bit noisy. We will be back, but in a quieter location within the hotel.

We had an amazing stay here. The pool area was fantastic, with an abundance of different loungers to choose from in various areas. A delicious buffet breakfast was served daily, with some incredible pastries. The beds were a bit hard, but the staff were very accommodating, providing mattress toppers. The location was great, right on the beach with lots of food options around. We will definitely be back!

Having the loveliest time. So good to be surrounded by so much greenery, right on the sea front. We took a free bike ride this morning to explore sanur after breakfast. The pool is so luxurious and clean. The rooms are air conditioned and lovely. All of the staff are very lovely and helpful. Can’t fault it :)

We stayed here for a few days and found the overall experience to be quite pleasant. The rooms were fine and resort facilities were great. They had two pools which we used and found it was fine. Our only fault is that their breakfast did not include too many Indonesian options and catered more to the western palate. Not a bad place to stay.

Everything was excellent.
29th March was silent day, so we couldn’t step out of the resort. They had everything planned for us in the resort though.
They have 3 pools which is sufficient for the many people at the resort.
The breakfast buffet is a mix of American and Indonesian food.
The spa is another amazing addition. The massage was so good. I highly recommend the Balinese massage.
The room is cleaned daily.
The private beach is a great addition to the resort.
A swim in it and the beach beds make it better.
Overall, the friendly staff and hospitality is great.
I will come back for sure 😄
The only con was, no bidet in the washroom. It would be a great addition if it is installed.

Wow. This was simply a dreamy, luxurious and peaceful stay at one of the nicest resorts in Sanur.
Everything was so positive in our 3 night stay, from the incredibly welcoming and friendly staff, to the range of facilities on offer- especially the pools to lounge in. We were really grateful to have our room upgraded for free too.
Special mention has to go to the dining facilities on offer, especially the Beach Club Restaurant and the Mezzanine Asian Kitchen. Also, the Spa was simply on another level, and we felt so bliss like after their treatments.
Finally, their Valentine’s Day dinner was so beautiful, and so well thought out. It was so lovely to see so much effort put in from the live music, to all the staff who went the extra mile.
Thank you so, so much. We really did not want to leave, and we really hope we can visit again in the future!

The hotel is clean, well-maintained, and offers great facilities. Every staff member was incredibly friendly and welcoming, making our stay even more enjoyable.
We were also happy to receive a free photo, and the best part was that we could freely choose whether to buy additional ones. The staff reassured us multiple times that there was no pressure to purchase, which made us feel so comfortable and appreciated.
The only area that could be slightly improved is the poolside shower room, which seemed like it hadn’t been used or cleaned for a while. Other than that, everything was excellent—highly recommended!

It was pricey but the pool was amazing. We spent three nights here and my son go to the pool daily. The location was near to airport and there are many food places nearby. Its beside a beach that is popular for surfing and within walkable distance to a shopping center.
Our room was located right beside the door to the main area. At night the door in the corridor is closed but since people keep going in and out the door bangs as it shuts and it's quite noisy.
We had a king bed and sofa bed. No tubs but it was fine. Somehow the public toilet in the hotel feels more luxurious than the bathroom in our room. There's a small area to hang your clothes outside. Staff were very friendly and nice.
We enjoyed the breakfast. Room service food was very expensive and taste pretty average. I like the live band but my son find it too loud. Overall I enjoyed the stay and might come back again to this hotel and request for a room further inside.

Lots to do for the kids, pool activities, slides a little play room. Used the gym and sauna. Ate at the buffet breakfast every day never got sick! Booked the all inclusive package for a weeks stay.
Rooms are average, little confused why we were placed in the main section when specified at booking have a 4 year old. I would of thought we would be at a the family side.
One day I did over 10,000 steps walking to my room and family pool.
Breakfast is standard, lunch the same and dinner the portions are super small.
Don't feel I'm receiving value for money.
At 8.20pm room service turned up to clean the room.
Spilt Ice cream around the pool, smelt disgusting and no one bothered to clean it up.
Waiting staff are extremely slow and English isn't the best.
I've been to Bali multiple times pre Covid.
Can honestly say i think the service and value for money isn't what it was.
Over 4K for 8 nights all inclusive but yet it's not all inclusive as drinks are limited alongside food.
100% also don't eat at the family pool food was disgusting.
It would of been cheaper to do a east coast trip from Perth and nice food/ hospitality.

We had a fantastic stay at the family paradise side of the resort. Lots of activities to keep the kids engaged & great premises. Clean, modern, well maintained & very well thought out architecture. Staff is extremely courteous, always cheerful & so very helpful & accomodating. Both the swimming pools were a hit with the kids & so many activities in the kids club. Fun movie nights for kids with popcorn.
Also there are themed dinners at the restaurants & we enjoyed some wonderful bands singing, cabaret dances & a superb fire dance show. Private beach access & so many water sports activities to keep you engaged.

The location is great with some cheap shops, massage and restaurants near by. The service was exceptional at every point. Friendly and would go out their way to help. The pool is great, and the grounds are well looked after with grass areas and beach area amazing. Highly recommended.

I’ve been to this place twice now, and each visit has been fantastic! The food is always fresh, delicious, and well-prepared. The pools are clean, never too crowded, and provide a relaxing experience. With the all-inclusive package, you really can’t go wrong – it’s great value for the experience. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, which makes the whole stay even better. The surrounding area is safe, and there are plenty of options for massages, laundry services, convenient stores, and coffee shops nearby. Highly recommend!

We had unfortunatly an old room with faults and reported them. They did offer an upgrade but we could not be bothered by the hassle having already unpacked. We feel they should of put us in a better room to start with! The hotel itself is undergoing some maintenance (not mentioned when booking), the staff were great and the gardens lovely. The beach is nice but there is quite a bit of rubbish around and when you go out to sea past the first set of nets there is far too much rubbish and plastic everywhere.

My husband and I came here as our first hotel on our honeymoon. We did the all inclusive and it was nice to not limit ourselves because they also offer non all inclusive. We stayed in a regular room, which was good with us because we didn’t spend much time in the room. The rooms definitely need to be updated, as they are doing renovations from my understanding soon, so that’s good they acknowledge that! I am gluten free and they had a lot of food options if you asked! They have gluten free bread, pasta and pizza! Also the coffee shop on site has gluten free pastries which was included in the all inclusive. Everyone there was great and very friendly. We also enjoyed the spa the day after we got there after our long flight and it was wonderful. The resort is pretty kid focused but the kids never bothered us. We were only there for a few nights which we thought was more than enough and wish the breakfast varied a little more day to day, but the juices at breakfast were always top notch & it was nice to have an egg station. They do not mark allergens on the buffet, which would have been a huge help to me, but I just ate what I knew I could. Overall, it was great for relaxing as a first stop on our honeymoon but I don’t think we would have wanted to stay there longer than 4 nights!

I really wanted to give this hotel a higher rating, but after some thought, this is the best I can do. My family opted for the all-inclusive package and tried to experience everything the resort had to offer. The kids loved the Kids Club—no complaints there. My wife and I made use of the sporting facilities, including the squash courts (which are air-conditioned but have a deteriorating floor), tennis courts, and bikes for rides along the beach path.
However, the entire resort feels quite outdated, nowhere near a five-star standard. They are planning renovations soon, so I would suggest waiting to book until after those are complete. We’ve visited Bali before and know how to be cautious with the water, but despite being careful, both my wife and I got Bali belly at different times. After considering all the factors, we believe it came from the drinks, which was quite frustrating.
There’s essentially only one pool everyone can use unless you’ve booked one of the exclusive ones, which limits the experience. Room service food was subpar compared to other resorts we’ve stayed at on the island. Some of the restaurants, like the Japanese one, were exceptional—truly top-tier—but others, like El Patio, were lacking in quality.
One big issue was the pool chairs. There’s a rule that towels left unattended will be removed, but it’s not enforced. We found the same guests claiming the best spots every morning, leaving their belongings there for hours without showing up. Enforcing this rule would really help others enjoy those prime spots closer to the pool.
The buzzers for ordering food or drinks by the pool rarely worked, although the staff, when they did come by, were always friendly and helpful. The YHI Spa is easily a five-star experience—my wife and I both had multiple massages, and each one was fantastic.
The rooms are in desperate need of renovation. The bathrooms are dated, with poor water pressure and small, outdated shower heads. It just doesn't feel like a five-star resort in this condition. On a positive note, the gardens are beautifully maintained and a pleasure to walk through.
In summary, while there were some high points, especially the spa and some of the restaurants, the resort is currently not at the five-star level it claims to be. I’d recommend waiting until after the renovation to see if it improves.

We wish we had read the reviews before booking. Despite notifying the hotel about our vegetarian dietary needs, breakfast was the same every day. We had to keep asking different chefs for something different, but nothing changed.
The hotel claims to have multiple pools, but we were restricted to one. Good luck finding a beach bed if you’re not up by 9 am.
We expected the warm Balinese hospitality we’ve experienced elsewhere, but it was missing here. Overall, very dissatisfied and felt it was a waste of money.

We have spend amazing 8 nights at Legian beach hotel and we definitely recommend this hotel for everyone.
We stayed in a bungalow and the room was cleaned and spacious, very comfortable bed.
Surroundings full of palms exotic garden, 2 swimming pool and beach across the road.
We could give more than 5 ☆ for the service, food and ambience
Hotel is close to shopping centre and any kind of restaurants.
Don't expect swimming pool activities but there's a gym
The hotel has 3 restaurants, with big selections of meals and good portions.
In general this hotel will offer you a great relax.
Only the band who's playing every night could have better selections of songs 🎵 and not playing the same songs every night

Deluxe Garden Villa was lovely and quiet. Housekeeping and reception staff amazing. They did our laundry beautifully, and cookies before bed. Buffet breakfast was amazing so much choice and good coffee and juices, breads galore and even fondue fountain for the kids. The only thing was service at the main restaurants was very slow and meals are small portion sizes. Pools were beautiful and pool bar with huge variety of cocktails. At the resort Day Spa we enjoyed a relaxing massage.

Fantastic Holiday hotel. The location is perfect with the beach right out front and garlic lane shopping from the other side. There are two pools one great for the family, the other has a swim up bar and daybeds looking across to the beach. The grounds are well maintained. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The Staff are super helpful and friendly. Breakfast buffet is awesome with a range of treats from around the globe . What I like most about Legian Beach Hotel is it manages to create a relaxed Bali holiday vibe without sacrificing any service. I stayed in the Garden Villa with lots of surprise extras included .

Had a lovely stay at the hotel. Food exceptional and service above and beyond. Having staff remember your name especially being VIP. Loved the food options for breakfast buffet and during the day. Facilities are superb. Room service is pricey and the beds are solid. Otherwise all was lovely. Big shout out to Kevin wait staff in the restaurant. He was hilarious 😂 and accommodating. There were 2 other lady staff members but forgot their names. Also gave exceptional service, breakfast staff. Thank you again. Pool was so warm and lovely. The beach is a hop and skip away but don't swim is polluted, unfortunately. Sitting on the level 2 bar watching sunsets was divine sipping mango juices.

We tried all restaurants and all food was fantastic. We definitely recommend the ribs from the beach restaurant or pool bar, also the lobster from there as well ($5 surcharge).
The service and manners of all employees was amazing.
The bed and pillows were the best we’ve ever had (sleeping for 9 hours most nights).

I recently stayed at the Merusaka with my partner and we had an extremely positive experience. The resort is in a beautiful location and we were in awe of the beach! We also found the all inclusive benefit to be well worth it!
The staff were kind and often went above and beyond to meet our needs. There were several staff members in particular that added value to our everyday - Juni (Ja’Jan by the sea), Sugi (Ja’Jan by the sea), Dwi (Ja’Jan by the sea) & Andre (Gading)!!

I wish I could say better things but the stay was merely ok. Nusa Dua is a nice place to stay but this hotel is far from 5 stars. You can find in other reviews about the hotel infrastructure and the rooms. What I am here to point out is the delay on returning the deposit that they ask. Yes, they ask you for a 2,000,000 rupiah deposit which is about 115 euros and well... I have no idea when I'm getting my money back. I have messaged their guest services and it was indeed a fast reply saying that their bank is taking long to reply. They have "sent emails" to the bank but who knows? I can't be the first one to pay this deposit by credit card so what the hell is the problem? 10 business days gone and no refund yet. Maybe I'll come back in a couple of days to say I was stolen.

Our stay at MERUSAKA Nusa Dua was nothing short of amazing. The hotel is in a perfect location, just 25 minutes from the airport and right next to a shopping area, making everything easily accessible. The beach is pristine, the pools are fantastic, and the restaurants offer delicious food.
What truly sets this place apart is the incredible staff—attentive, friendly, and always ready to assist. Whatever we needed was arranged within minutes, making our experience seamless and enjoyable.
The only minor issue was a slight humidity smell in the room, but given the tropical climate, it was expected and didn’t impact our overall experience.
If you’re looking for a luxurious and relaxing stay in Nusa Dua, this is the place to be. A well-deserved 5-star experience

I visited this place on Nyepi 2025, and it’s conveniently located near the airport, which is a big plus. The atmosphere is really enjoyable.
However, one issue I encountered was that after they mopped the floors, they felt oily and took a long time to dry, making the air a bit uncomfortable.
On a brighter note, the restaurant is fantastic! They offer a wide variety of dishes, and I was pleasantly surprised to find panipuri on the menu as well.
Another aspect that detracted from our comfort was the unpleasant odor in the bathroom. We strongly recommend that management prioritize cleanliness throughout the facilities, particularly in the bathrooms. Even though this hotel may have some age, a diligent focus on maintaining hygiene would surely enhance guests' overall experience and encourage them to feel more at home here compared to other establishments.
One of the standout features of this hotel is the fitness center. The equipment is quite comprehensive, and there is a friendly personal trainer on standby who is available to guide guests on how to use the machines effectively. This dedicated support really enhances the experience for those looking to maintain their fitness routines while traveling.

I must start by saying that the way anyone rates a hotel often depends on how the rest of their trip unfolds. For me, my first impression of Dynasty Bali wasn’t great. The resort looked small, slightly dated, with limited views, small pools, and no real beach scenery to speak of.
However, as our stay continued, I started to notice the strength of the facilities—especially for families. If you have children and want to feel confident leaving them in safe hands, the Kids Club is a major plus. The staff were caring, and the activities kept the kids engaged and happy. This gave us real time to relax and enjoy ourselves, which is rare when travelling as a family.
Throughout the day, there’s a full schedule of activities for both adults and children—from proper beach volleyball to fun games and entertainment.
There were lots of Aussie families, which added to the friendly and familiar vibe. The staff were lovely, always kind and helpful. The food is on the pricier side, but the quality is excellent. You’ll also find nearby marts and restaurants (including Italian and Chinese), which is convenient.
One definite downside: no proper barista-style coffee included with breakfast—a surprising miss for such a well-run place.
That said, I’d still recommend Dynasty Bali, especially for families with young kids. It might not be the luxury beachfront experience some expect, but it’s a solid 4-star resort that delivers on comfort, care, and fun

The food was lovely and booking directly we got free breakfast, 10 items of free laundry and lots of discount vouchers.
The hotel backs on to the beach. The beach unfortunately was full of plastics. Really sad as the beach could be one of the best in Bali. That was my only negative.

Bali Dynasty Resort is a very good, family-friendly hotel with a variety of amenities. The resort boasts multiple swimming pools catering to both adults and children, including a dedicated kids' pool with a mini waterpark. While the resort offers beach access, cleanliness may be an issue. For families, the resort provides excellent childcare options, including a daycare with a wide range of daily activities and babysitting services. Its location is convenient, being close to the airport. The hotel location is convenient, it is a nice and secured facility, the pools are nice and the kids enjoyed the slides and the beach as well, the rooms are spacious and convenient for families, I would suggest to take care of detailed cleaning of rooms which I had to ask for.

Just stayed here for a week with our family of five. It is a lovely hotel. The rooms are beautiful and the staff are excellent. Tree bar is great for happy hour drinks. We usually eat out but in-house food at the hotel is very good too.
Overall for us, it was not really fit for purpose because we have 3 Primary school aged boys who got a bit bored. They are too old for kids club activities (which anre aumed at 6 and under. The pool is a bit smaller than expected. If you have younger children or are a Group of adults or couple, I’d recommend this hotel. We will try somewhere with more activities For older kids next time.

The hotel is great with fantastic rooms and a great location.
There are just a couple of things that let it down. The main pool is shallow at 1.2m, whilst this is great for families with young kids (we have 2) i would prefer a slightly deeper pool as I struggled to swim properly.
The other is the beach, it's not great. There is a lot of seaweed and it's shallow so cannot swim much. Bali has a big problem with litter and there is a lot of litter on the beach. The hotel does clean up their portion of the beach however the neighbouring sites have a lot of litter and when you are swimming in the sea you will see this. It's most of Bali that you will encounter the same issue so it's not unique to this hotel. I have fed this back to our travel agents and it was my agents that oversold the beach. If you can ignore the litter and just want a beach to walk on then it's fine.
Location is great and there are loads of shops and hotels on the road so you are spoilt for choice.

It’s the best hotel we ever stayed in. Of course the decorations and architecture is almost a piece of art, and the rooms are amazing, but in this place particularly you’ll find the best customer service ever. Buda, Asmika, Wisna, Hermanto and Aldi are amazing, not only they cleaned our rooms in the morning and in the evening, they were also making towel arts after each passage and leaving cute notes asking if everything was okay or wishing us a good night or morning, we’ve never seen this in any place before, they truly care about customers and this is rare.
If you decide to go to the restaurant ( what I strongly advise because the food is amazing) you’ll find there Lia and her colleagues that will do everything for you to feel waited there. They will remember your name, serve you with an elegance that exists only in Asian countries and care about you and adapt meals to your tastes or allergies. I once asked for an avocado toast that wasn’t on the menu, but they still did it, just for me, in other hotels they would just say sorry, we do only what’s on the menu, so I really advise to everyone that are looking for a place where to relax and have a good time to visit maya sanur!!

We stayed for 3 nights, from April 1 to 4, 2025 at Impressive Lagoon Suites. The resort is not large (in comparison to other 5 stars resorts we have stayed before), but with proper settings it feels comfortable.
The impressive lagoon suites (with additional 1 bed) is enough for a family of 5 people (which I gratefully thankful, because not many 5 stars resorts permit a family of 5 people stay in 1 room). The room is clean, very comfortable, and has good wifi connection for online game.
The staff are very polite. They said we had a buttler service for staying at an impressive lagoon suites, who can be approached by whatsapp. Until the day we departed, they still didn't text me their buttler's whatsapp number 🙄.
We also had an incident in the breakfast room when the staff chased us to collect the payment (they mistook us for other guest), which was quite embarassing. The problem was resolved with an apology after I contacted the front office.
The pool is facing the beach and has a very excellent view during sunrise. Too bad the sun loungers have many birds' stools, please make sure the staff to clean them.
The breakfast is quite good and the room dining has a good settings.
You have to try Kuu resto (a Japanese resto), they taste very good.

We had a fantastic stay at Maya Ubud with three families and four kids. The location is absolutely stunning – surrounded by jungle and overlooking rice paddies – but what really made it special was the incredible staff.
Huge thanks to Sutrisna and Dalum from the food and beverage team for their warm, attentive service – one during the day, one at night. And to Griya, my massage therapist, who gave me one of the best massages I’ve ever had. The spa room was set above a rushing river, with birds calling from the treetops – an unforgettable experience.
Our villa was spacious, clean and peaceful, with a private pool and views across the rice fields. Great for relaxing, but there’s also heaps to do if you’re feeling active. The adult only area was exceptional, but a bit hard to enjoy when traveling with kids (obviously). The influencers seemed to be having fun though.
The food was good and plentiful, though not outstanding – but everything else more than made up for it. Beautiful grounds, thoughtful staff and a really memorable holiday. Would definitely recommend.

Everything from the minute we walked in was anticipated and taken care of. Nothing was too big or small of a request and the staff were lovely.
We would like to point out the outstanding service we received from both Eka and Gangga! They were always so helpful, happy and greeted us with kind conversation. They responded quickly whenever we needed something and remembered our names from the moment we met.
The grounds of the resort are stunning and there’s lots of different areas to explore. We loved the Riverside pool and Tree Bar.
Housekeeping were great and the little treats that kept coming to our room were a very nice surpise.

Maya Ubud was an absolutely wonderful experience. The rooms were spotless and super comfortable – a really peaceful place to unwind. The whole resort feels like a hidden gem, surrounded by dense, lush forest, which adds to the calm and beauty of the stay.
A big shoutout to our butlers, Gangga and Mana – they were absolutely incredible! Always around when we needed something, super friendly, and even gave us a tour around the property, which helped us take in how beautiful and peaceful the whole place is. They even helped me arrange a surprise for my dad, and it turned out so special – definitely a moment I’ll never forget.
The restaurants were amazing, with great food and atmosphere, and one evening there was a traditional cultural show that was truly beautiful to watch. Also, the gym was fantastic – well-equipped and had great views too.
Can’t recommend this place enough. Will definitely be back!

Staying at Maya Ubud was the experience of a lifetime. The level of service and attention we have received is unmatched. While we stayed we did the couples massage, visited both pools, free yoga, complimentary photoshoot, and watched the barong dance. We also had breakfast at the hotel most mornings, which is an amazing value and wonderfully diverse selection. I will miss the butter cakes and fresh juice bar!!! The grounds are immaculate. The concierge is so accommodating on arrival. We stayed in a pool villa and had the immense pleasure of having Ricky take care of us. He was so kind and thoughtful during our stay and always available to help via WhatsApp. He’s also very funny! We will miss everyone at Maya Ubud and are counting down the days till we can have another dream vacation here.

The perfect honeymoon destination. Staff are very polite, friendly and helpful. We were initially worried about going to Bali as my wife has numerous food allergies (eggs, beans, peas, nuts). As soon as we arrived, the staff were attentive and proactive in ensuring we were properly catered and cared for. This helped make this resort a perfect place to relax and enjoy our honeymoon. We recently stayed at Mulia Resort and were truly impressed by the impeccable cleanliness and stunning beauty of the property. From the sparkling pool to the well-maintained gardens and spotless rooms, everything was pristine and well looked after. The resort grounds are truly a feast for the eyes.
One of the major highlights of our stay was the staff – especially the bartenders, lifeguards, security personnel, and wait staff. They were all warm, friendly, and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Their dedication and hospitality didn’t go unnoticed.
However, the experience at the check-in and check-out counters was a stark contrast. The staff there came across as stiff and unwelcoming, almost like airport customs officers rather than hospitality professionals. It felt as though they had been instructed not to engage politely with guests, which was a disappointing first and last impression.
The biggest letdown during our stay was the food. For a resort of this caliber, we expected a lot more variety and creativity in the menu. Unfortunately, the breakfast buffet was repetitive throughout our six-day stay, with the same items appearing each day. Even more surprising was that, on some occasions, the Indian options for breakfast and dinner were exactly the same. As guests with dietary preferences leaning towards Indian cuisine, we genuinely struggled to find satisfying meals at the resort.
Overall, while Mulia Resort delivers on aesthetics, cleanliness, and some truly wonderful staff, there is definitely room for improvement in guest service at reception and, most importantly, in the dining experience.

My mother and I had a fantastic stay for our first visit to Bali in November 2024. We chose the luxury partial ocean view villa, and it was worth every moment. The resort's stunning beachfront location and convenient access to the beautiful beach made it the perfect getaway. Disappointment – Overpriced and Mediocre
As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I rarely leave harsh reviews, but this time it’s necessary. Paying a high price for quality is a choice, but paying an exorbitant price for terrible food and mediocre quality feels like robbery
For 15 years, I have been coming to the Oberoi for breakfast. In the past, the quality was there, and the pricing was reasonable. Today, the chef is no longer a chef but someone hiding behind a title, the GM is incompetent, and the CEO and shareholders are nothing but greedy profiteers
It’s sad to see a once-iconic five-star hotel become a reflection of what Bali’s tourism has become—a collapsing system where both tourists and locals have sold their souls for money. You are no longer a luxury hospitality brand; you are heading straight into the mass tourism market, where the only value you worship is money, at the cost of everything that once made this place special.
Bali’s tourism industry is on the verge of collapse, and your outdated business model will go down with it. Soon, the only value your hotel will have is its rare location, but there are now thousands of better options at much lower prices.
You are the perfect example of what Bali’s tourism has become—overpriced, soulless, lacking in quality, and aesthetically unappealing. You no longer deserve your five stars, not even close

We visited the Oberoi as the last stop on our honeymoon and it was a lovely end to a few weeks of travelling. When we arrived we were greeted with flower necklaces and we were soon shown to our room which was ready early for us. We stayed in one of the Lanai rooms which was spacious and spotlessly clean. As we were celebrating, we were greeted by a cake and a card in the room which was a lovely touch.
Breakfast was really special with it looking out to the beachfront. We loved the choice on the menu and wish we could have tried more! The staff provided a brilliant breakfast service, being so attentive to provide us shade and plenty of drinks top ups. We were offered breakfast in our room as part of our honeymoon celebrations, but as we loved sitting looking out at the sea so much, we didn’t opt for this in the end.
We really enjoyed the afternoon tea on offer, as well as the various things (fruit sticks, sorbets etc.) that were given out around the poolside. We even had our sunglasses cleaned for us while we were sat there with shows how luxurious this hotel is!
The afternoon tea we had with Balinese music and name writing was particularly special – a huge thank you to the man and his son (sorry we didn’t get your names) who were so enthusiastic about their fantastic culture. We loved speaking to you.
One thing that stands out at this hotel is the attention to detail in the rooms. Each night we came back to our belongings neatly arranged for us, along with special additions to our room such as a teddy with our initials on it. This was all beyond our expectations, and made our stay very special.
Although we found that Seminyak wasn’t the area for us, this didn’t matter when we were staying at such a special hotel. We would definitely recommend the Oberoi, Bali!

We had the most amazing time during our stay here – truly the best ever resort experience and absolutely worth every penny. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable getaway!
We stayed in a one-bedroom pool villa, and honestly, you can’t ask for more. The villa had everything – a private pool, jacuzzi, open shower – pure indulgence and comfort blended perfectly.
From the moment we arrived, the welcome and hospitality were warm and exceptional. The team really goes the extra mile to make you feel special.
One of the standout experiences was the complimentary afternoon tea, served directly in our villa. It’s the kind of luxury that makes you feel pampered in the best way possible.
On one of the days, we had to leave early for an excursion, and they thoughtfully packed us a royal-style breakfast box at 2 AM! That level of service is rare and truly appreciated.
Another big plus is the breakfast setup. Unlike most places, here you don’t have to rush – they serve à la carte breakfast till 2 PM, and everything we tried was absolutely top-notch.
The direct beach access was a dream, and having dinner with a sunset view was a highlight of our trip. They even allowed a free photoshoot with our personal photographer, something many resorts don’t permit. Huge thanks to the team for being so accommodating!
The location is spot-on – just a 2-minute walk to the best vegetarian restaurant “Beach Bowl”, and Seminyak Mall is within walking distance too.
Only minor downside – we experienced a delay in food service once at Breeze Restaurant, but that’s honestly a small blip in an otherwise flawless stay.
Also, the complimentary offerings – from thoughtful amenities to small surprises – were genuinely attractive and added to the overall value.
If you're considering a stay here – just go for it. It’s everything you dream of in a tropical escape and more! 🌴✨

The resort is visually beautiful, and the sunset view is truly stunning. Beach access is smooth and easy, which is definitely a highlight.
However, the overall experience was disappointing and far from what I expected from a resort of this level.
•I requested a late check-out for at least 2 hours, and the staff claimed the hotel was fully booked. When I pointed out that there were empty rooms, they literally laughed and said, “They requested your exact room!” — which felt like clear dishonesty and lack of professionalism. It came across as careless and dismissive.
•They also ruined some of my brand-new clothes through their laundry service. A few items came back with visible bleach stains, despite being recently purchased and in perfect condition. No apology or compensation was offered.
•Breakfast service was extremely slow, taking over an hour to serve. The delay was consistent and frustrating, especially in the mornings.
•The massage was way too rough and far from relaxing. The therapist felt untrained . I woke up the next day with pain and bruises, and couldn’t even enjoy the session while it was happening.
•Housekeeping is limited to once a day, while in most other resorts I’ve stayed at, it’s done at least twice daily or on request. This made it harder to keep the room feeling fresh.
•There’s no proper quality control on essentials — for example, the jacuzzi water was completely cold and was never fixed or checked.
I love peaceful stays and beautiful locations, but unfortunately, the poor service and lack of attention to detail made it hard for me to leave feeling satisfied.

We thoroughly enjoyed part of our honeymoon here. The staff was phenomenal. We will definitely be back. We recommend ordering food cooked more thoroughly than you are used to. We did have "bali belly" the last day of our trip due to a slightly u dercooked burger. The staff spoke with us and tried to make it right, including having a licensed doctor cone to our room. We appreciated the level of care the staff had for myself and my husband. Did not deter us from coming back. The view of the beach for breakfast and the sound of waves during our massage were the best two parts.

Having stayed in many 5 star hotels around the world, this is a very good one. Staff are impressive, knowing what you need before you do. All very happy to help and greet you.
Room make-up is done seamlessly whilst out of the room, or a convenient time is scheduled to ensure minimal disruption. Minibar is complimentary and restocked daily. My only feedback would be a turn down service.
Breakfast there is a lot of choice and can have multiple dishes/drinks. Afternoon tea also OK.
We stayed in One Bedroom Pool Villa and the room and pool are fantastic. Can actually swim in the pool rather than it just being for a cool down. There is no loungers in this room type, so we found ourselves at the main pool to sunbathe. This wasn’t an issue though as the staff came over to check what drinks we’d like. However there is 3 lots of outdoor seating at the villa with one being a comfy daybed.
Airport pick up was smooth - a luxury vehicle with wide seats and water refreshments.
Security at both the front entrance and on the beach. We arranged taxis separately and when they arrived to the lobby, hotel staff happy to help you in and help you exit.
No feedback on the spa as we didn’t try.
Overall, a wonderful fuss free stay - a relaxing experience.
