This is one of my favorite hotels. I truly enjoyed spending time by the beach, sipping a few glasses of wine or the occasional cocktail while taking in the breathtaking view. The atmosphere is so relaxing, especially with the sound of the waves in the background. The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive, always making sure guests feel welcome and well taken care of. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the overall experience is both peaceful and refreshing. I can’t wait to come back again!

Peaceful Beachfront Stay with Friendly Service
We had a relaxing stay at Mercure Sanur. The resort has beautiful gardens, direct beach access, and two lovely pools. Staff were warm and helpful, and the breakfast buffet offered a good variety. The atmosphere is quiet and ideal for those wanting to unwind.
Rooms are spacious but a bit dated—some furniture and bathrooms could use renovation. Also, there are quite a lot of dogs around the property and beach, which might be uncomfortable for some guests, especially families with small children.
Overall, it’s a great choice if you’re after a laid-back beachfront escape with friendly service. Just set your expectations right for the room interiors and the presence of local dogs.

The family room at Mercure Sanur was spacious, with living room, 2 bathrooms, bunkbed and king size bed. You have an outdoor area facing the family pool, perfect for a family. Great location. You have direct access to the beach and boardwalk, dotted with cafes, vendors, beach rentals, small playground, etc. The staff members are amazing. Super helpful and genuinely want you to enjoy your stay. It is an older property so they have some obvious wear and tear, but the hotel offer great value and they have many returning guests. We shall return also.

Came here for a meeting invitation. The resort features many villa-style houses in a spacious area, combining comfort with an authentic Balinese design vibe. The staff gives a warm welcome, and the food is okay.

Executive Room was large, clean and tidy. Bed was comfortable. Location was excellent. Breakfast had a good selection.
Downside, hot water was only warm. No hand towels provided and fridge was moldy.
We would stay again as value for money

Perfect service. Helpful staff.
There only one issue which could be dangerous. In my room there is a kettle but the lead was too short. I had to put the kettle base on a saucer to avoid risk of boiling water scalding me. A block of wood or a stand or a longer lead perhaps a better sited plug socket would have prevented this risk. There's no USB points either so bring your adapters. Despite these two negative issues, don't get me wrong. This is a very well run and well maintained establishment with the most polite and helpful staff you will ever find. There's some good meals and healthy drinks to be had in the restaurant where again the service is first class.

We absolutely loved this hotel. The staff were really amazing - nothing was ever too much trouble and they were all so friendly. Our room was fine (although we would have preferred not to climb the two flights of stairs but that was our mistake for booking late.) and very quiet . We really enjoyed the buffet breakfast with a good selection of both Indonesian and European foods. Friday evenings entertainment was excellent despite the heavy rain and we enjoyed the spa massage - discounted for guests. This is a really European hotel with a number of different nationalities. We liked the fact that there were so many different age groups.
For something different walk the 2 minutes around the corner to Malaika Secret Restaurant - make sure you book! You will not be disappointed!
Jalu Andura
Had a wonderful stay at Alantara! The hotel is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by lush greenery, and our room even had a private backyard—something I’ve never seen before. The bathtub was fantastic, and they provided a special salt for the bubble bath, which my kids absolutely loved!
The bathroom might feel a bit small for some, and the separate WC and shower setup isn’t for everyone—I wasn’t a huge fan, but it was fine. The breakfast was great, and the staff were amazing—attentive and proactive in letting us know what the hotel had to offer. One of my kids wanted porridge, which wasn’t on the menu, but a staff member kindly offered to make some. Such a thoughtful gesture!
If I’m not mistaken, our room also came with a massage voucher, but unfortunately, we couldn’t use it since we had to leave.
The location is great—you can walk to the beach, though it’s around 2–3 km away. It’s doable—I walked it myself!
I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough. Loved every bit of it!

3 nights stay. Warm welcome by all staff. Nature bubble here. Great pool, with kids section. Pool bar too. Staff very caring & helpful. Good to have a chat with them. Had two issues with the room (AC & bath drain), but they solved it. Breakfast buffet one of the nicest seen in Bali, a lot of choice. Experience Wednesday seafood market here for dinner with live music. Complimentary massages perfect, same as other spa treatment. A bit expensive though. Overall nice place to stay away from hustle and bustle. Complimentary shuttle helps too !

We stayed only one night and that was a mistake as the hotel is amazing, looks much better then on the photos. We had a beautiful big room with a private swimming pool - very recommended for the honeymoon! Staff is very nice and the restaurant serves nice food. There is a cool bar with stools in the swimming pool and in general the swimming pool area is very nice.

Our first visit to Bali and the Griya Santrian.
The hotel has a very friendly feel and beautiful location on the beach front. I loved watching people jogging or cycling along the pedestrian area at breakfast.
The staff are very attentive and I loved getting up early and watching them take their time cleaning and preparing for the day. Nothing was too much trouble.
The gardens and pools are clean and beautiful. You can choose garden or beach views.
We were only bed and breakfast but we did eat a couple of times there in the evening.
Breakfast was great, but I felt as a vegetarian there were only a few options for evening meals.
There were some activities at the hotel and we enjoyed learning and making a prayer offering. However the yoga was only offered on 1 day which unfortunately we were out so missed it.
We had a treatment in the spa which was amazing.
We felt it would have been nice to have had more entertainment offered in the evening. The Balinese evening was only on by weekly so we missed it.
That said we would definitely recommend the Griya for its relaxed vibe, great service and beautiful surroundings.
We would love to visit again.

We stayed at the Griya Santrian in 2014 so decided to go back to Sanur as long as we could get back in at the Griya.
The resort is situated in a great location in Sanur with plenty of whatever you need within walking distance, whether it be along the beach or the main road.
The staff are super friendly, the rooms were cleaned beautifully each day, the pool so lovely and warm (I can't do cold pools) and the breakfast provided had enough options for most (we like authentic cuisine for breakfast 😊) so it was a great start to the day each morning (the Yellow Chicken Curry was amazing!).
A point to note at the moment is that renovations are in progress in certain sections of the resort during the day which we were informed of when we arrived. As we advised the staff, it didn't bother us as we normally spend all day out exploring and/or temperature testing the beer at various outlets so it wasn't a problem for us 😊
We loved our stay and we'd stay at the Griya Santrian again in a heartbeat.

Hands down, a great place to stay on the beach and in central Sanur. Staff are all amazing! Rooms are great, we were in deluxe room. Gardens and pools are so nice! Can't wait to come back here!
Sunday In December
Second time staying at Griya Santrian. This hotel is all comfort, serenity, and old-fashioned service. You can not help but feel relaxed and cared for here. The immaculate Balinese gardens are so beautiful and peaceful. The 3 pools are luxurious, and each one seems to have a different personality to suit your mood or preference. The buffet breakfasts are such a treat - You can have amazingly fresh fruit, freshly cooked eggs, pancakes, cereal/toast, pastries, and Indonesian options, along with as much coffee/tea as you can drink. And you eat whilst staring at the beautiful sea. The staff are corteous and friendly. The streets of Sanur are just outside with many fun shopping options. 3 Monkeys Cafe down the road does excellent dinners. The boardwalk in front of the hotel is a people watching paradise, and the beach itself is calm and lovely. You can use the kayaks for free and hire bicycles for almost nothing.
Griya Santrian is our happy place.

We absolutely love coming to Griya Santrian. The resort has a lovely feel to it, more traditional in style, is clean and the staff are very accomodating.
We found their breakfast to be good but the quality of the food in the restaurant for lunch/dinner has gone down. The pool bar is a big plus and their cocktails are excellent.
This year though, I’m not sure I recommend staying until they’ve completed their renovations. They advised us renovations won’t be complete for another year.
Renovations are 9am to 5pm every day, including weekends. Once even after hours. Please see the videos.
We were only told of the renovations about 2 weeks before our stay and it was suggested that they wouldn’t inconvenience our stay much. I disagree with this a bit. They chose to do renovation work next to the front pool and the middle pools at the same time, so there is no part of the resort to get away from the noise, except the beachfront. The front pool was better than the middle pools as the construction was more intermittent at the front.
For the cost of accomodation and as a standard expected, they really shouldn’t be doing renovations at multiple points throughout the resort and should have informed guests earlier with the option of changing accomodation.
Overall though we still enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming again once the renovations are finished.

We have had an amazing vacation with our stay here. First of all, the team of people that work here have made the stay so delightful. The resort itself is beautiful! It is a joy to walk around and take it all in. The interior of the rooms are a classic colonial style. My only suggestion is that for the club rooms they might need to do some updating there after so many years of service.
I can highly recommend a stay here, as we hope to come back here another time. So thank you Puri Santrian family.

This was my favorite stay in my Bali trip. Great location slightly further away from the shopping hub for a bit more peace and quiet, beautiful and clean property, great breakfast and a variety of amenities (free bikes and kayak). We did encounter some AC issues during our stay but the maintenance team did a great job resolving it fairly quickly.

Great location in Sanur set in well kept grounds. The let down was the bathroom in our room. Very much seen better days. Discoloured bath and ropey plumbing. The bedroom, dressing room and balcony were absolutely fine....with a large comfortable bed. The staff were all wonderful, although the restaurant suffers some delays despite low numbers eating. Food worth waiting for though!

We selected this hotel as being Balinese style and different from the usual Western-run hotel chains (local Balinese owner/management). Overall a good experience.

We had an amazing stay here. The pool area was fantastic, with an abundance of different loungers to choose from in various areas. A delicious buffet breakfast was served daily, with some incredible pastries. The beds were a bit hard, but the staff were very accommodating, providing mattress toppers. The location was great, right on the beach with lots of food options around. We will definitely be back!

“Exceptional Stay – Beyond Expectations!”
From the moment we arrived, everything exceeded my expectations. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive, going out of their way to make our stay special. The room was spotless, beautifully designed, and had thoughtful touches that made it feel luxurious.
What really stood out was we have our own butler.
The amenities were top-notch, and the location was perfect. Beachfront-Breakfast was excellent! I’ve stayed at many hotels, but this one truly raised the bar. I’ll definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone looking for relaxation and for family holidays.

We have stayed at Maya Sanur 4 times already. It’s one of our favourite resorts in Bali. The spa is amazing, service is amazing. Rooms are so beautiful and roomy. All of their restaurants are great. 15 min walk to Icon, huge supermarket 3 minute walk away. Everything at your doorstep

We stayed for 3 nights, from April 1 to 4, 2025 at Impressive Lagoon Suites. The resort is not large (in comparison to other 5 stars resorts we have stayed before), but with proper settings it feels comfortable.
The impressive lagoon suites (with additional 1 bed) is enough for a family of 5 people (which I gratefully thankful, because not many 5 stars resorts permit a family of 5 people stay in 1 room). The room is clean, very comfortable, and has good wifi connection for online game.
The staff are very polite. They said we had a buttler service for staying at an impressive lagoon suites, who can be approached by whatsapp. Until the day we departed, they still didn't text me their buttler's whatsapp number 🙄.
We also had an incident in the breakfast room when the staff chased us to collect the payment (they mistook us for other guest), which was quite embarassing. The problem was resolved with an apology after I contacted the front office.
The pool is facing the beach and has a very excellent view during sunrise. Too bad the sun loungers have many birds' stools, please make sure the staff to clean them.
The breakfast is quite good and the room dining has a good settings.
You have to try Kuu resto (a Japanese resto), they taste very good.

Just stayed here for a week with our family of five. It is a lovely hotel. The rooms are beautiful and the staff are excellent. Tree bar is great for happy hour drinks. We usually eat out but in-house food at the hotel is very good too.
Overall for us, it was not really fit for purpose because we have 3 Primary school aged boys who got a bit bored. They are too old for kids club activities (which anre aumed at 6 and under. The pool is a bit smaller than expected. If you have younger children or are a Group of adults or couple, I’d recommend this hotel. We will try somewhere with more activities For older kids next time.
