We originally booked for 3 nights, but extended for another 3 nights because we loved staying there. The staff were the best, fulfilling all our needs, never heard a no, always a yes. The room, food, pool, and everything else was just super. Will definitely be going there again.

Itchy Feet Foodies

Hotel in great spot right on the beach. We used this hotel as an overnight hotel on our way to Maldives and also as the starting point for our tour around Sri Lanka. There are two pools and direct access to the beach at the rear of the hotel. The rooms are a little dated but clean and have views of the beach. The buffet breakfast and dinners were very good and snacks were available from the bar menu. All of the staff were great and they let us store some luggage there whilst we were in the Maldives. Lots of shops and restaurants within easy walking distance also. Patchy weak wifi.

I had a wonderful stay at Goldi Sands Hotel! The rooms were clean, comfortable, and beds were not that comfortable. The food was delicious with plenty of tasty options to choose from. Overall, a relaxing experience.

The food is the best I've tasted in a long time. You wouldn't get a spread like the main stream hotels but what's made is fresh and flavourful. Had all the varieties of seafood so you don't miss much. Looking forward to going there again.

We had a lovely 10 days at Goldi sands from 18/April . ALL the staff were friendly and helpful and I was surprised with both balloons in our room on arrival and a birthday cake at dinner for my 70th birthday. We have no complaints at all other than maybe a bit of updating in the room needed. But they were spotlessly clean.. Also we have to praise our tour guide Sudarshan who went out of his way to make our stay in Sri Lanka so special. We highly recommend him.

The entire experience was good and we loved it overall, however, we would not come back. Why? No info about the rooms or overall hotel. The rooms were a little strange. The lighting is hidden behind little panels which you need to discover - we didn't discover these for several hours. The rooms are also very dark. Dark furniture and colour scheme, dark rug and subdued lighting. The controls on the shower are different to anything we had seen before and it was hard to get the right temperature. It was either cold or hot. We could not find the gym and only discovered the beach side bar by chance. We had a small injury and while the staff tried hard they had no real first aid training and their kits were not equipped. We were here in the off season and not everything was available. We tried calling reception about something and no-one answered. While the location is wonderful for access to the National Park, there is nothing else. No shopping, no other choice for dining.

Our room was very spacious, well-designed, and complete with a private balcony offering beautiful uninterrupted views of the beach. The hotel reception area was also breathtaking and felt very special. There is a lot of wildlife surrounding the hotel - but you are unable to walk on the beach at dusk due to wild animals. However, while the property itself was beautiful, the service fell short of the five-star experience we expected and as advertised by the hotel. Upon check-in, the staff handed us our keys and simply waved us to follow a long hallway to our room rather than escorting us directly there and showing us around our room. We didn’t mind the walk itself (which took about five minutes, as we timed it), but the lack of attentiveness and warmth felt a bit underwhelming for a hotel of this caliber. A more disappointing moment occurred when we woke up at 5 a.m. to leave for a safari and asked the man at reception for two bottles of water to bring with us. We were told that water was unavailable unless we had "pre-ordered" it the night before. We were never informed of this requirement, and when we asked if water could be arranged from elsewhere in the hotel, the staff member simply shrugged and told us there was nothing they could do. Given that providing water to guests is a basic request, it was surprising — and frankly frustrating — that such a simple need could not be met. There was no proactive effort to find a solution (e.g. to arrange bottles of water to be brought from elsewhere like the restaurant or kitchen), and it left us feeling disappointed in the overall service. Overall, we had a beautiful stay at the hotel, but the service did not quite match the high standard we were hoping for. That said, we would still recommend the hotel for its stunning location, beautiful rooms, and overall ambiance.

We stayed two nights at Jetwing Yala on 18th and 19th April. We are a family of three and we got two rooms. Our rooms were with large balconies overlooking the sea with unforgettable view. Overall our stay was a very pleasant one from the moment we checked in to the moment we checked out. Hotel ambiance was very relaxing and we met very friendly service staff everywhere. Being a hotel built in a corner of a jungle, the experience we had was unique. We were lucky to see a large leopard at a very close range during our safari trip. The food was very good and the variety at the buffet was extremely good. There was a choice for everybody. Hotel is conveniently located for safari tours, being situated very close to the main entrance of The Yala National Park. Swimming pool is quite large one and very relaxing area in the evening. My wife and I got massage treatment at the Spa and it was very good. Special thanks to Gayan, assistant front office manager and Nishantha, F&B manager. Both of them are very well trained professional hoteliers always attending to guest needs. I am a retired senior hotelier with a very long work experience in 5-star international hotels in many countries and I highly recommend Jetwing Yala for any one who wants to enjoy a safari trip and a relaxed hotel stay in a quiet location.

Incredibly well appointed hotel. Rooms are very spacious, particularly the bathroom which was huge and had double height ceiling above the shower. Location for safari is fantastic, and there’s a lot of wildlife even in the hotel grounds itself. Best part is probably the pool set up, must be 50m+ in length and a great temperature. Just awesome.

Nicely located by the beach close to Yale National Park. A pool outside with a little pool bar. The breakfast buffet was excellent and so was the staff. Didn't get a top score because at dinner they didn't serve us the drink we ordered for the main course and after the dessert we wanted 30 minutes without any bills.
