Sri Lanka has the magic formula when it comes delivering the perfect family holiday. Most families relish the opportunity to spend a day at the beach and Sri Lanka is blessed with hundreds of miles of golden sandy expanses, with crystal blue waters and swaying palms. Natural harbours, glistening lagoons and enchanting coral reefs are just some of the attractions for eager families to explore. Whether you want some traditional sandcastle-building sessions or the chance to climb aboard a banana boat for a thrilling ride, Sri Lanka has it all. Among the most beautiful beaches are Uppuveli, Mirissa, Arugam Bay, Hiriketiya, Unawatuna and Alankuda. Children will be captivated by the wildlife in Yala, Minneriya and Willpattu national parks – elephants, leopards, rare sloth bears, wild buffalo, pangolins, crocodiles are just some of the amazing creatures there. There’s also birds aplenty with crested hawk eagles, lesser flamingos, paradise flycatchers and black bitterns, to name just a few.
