North Malé Atoll and South Malé Atoll, Maldives
The capital of the Maldives, Malé, is situated at the southern end of North Malé Atoll, which extends for around 40km from west to east and around 60km from north to south. Velana International Airport (MLE) is also located on North Malé Atol. North Malé Atoll is the most explored and popular part of the Maldives and is home to around 50 little islands, many of which have been developed as a single resort - it's this exclusivity which holds great appeal for travellers craving a unique holiday experience in a luxury 'resort island' hideaway in the sun.
The main islands in North Malé Atoll include Dhiffushi, Gaafaru, Thulusdhoo, Eriyadhoo, Funadhoo, Hulhumalé, Bandos and Hulhulé. They are home to glorious beaches, incredible coral reefs and breath-taking scenery. North Malé Atoll is a magnet for diving enthusiasts seeking an underwater adventure of a lifetime in the many incredible dive sites including Banana Reef, Prisca, Hannes Reef, Fairytale Reef, and Meeru. Venture under the water and you'll encounter a plethora of amazing reefs, marine life and even a few shipwrecks - the most famous is Maldives Victory Wreck.
South Malé Atoll is separated from North Malé Atoll by a very deep channel, Vaadhu Kandu. It is oblong-shaped and is around 35km in length. It comprises 22 islands which are mainly located around the eastern fringe. The atoll's interior features a myriad of coral patches and reef which can prove very difficult to navigate.
There's plenty to see and do in South Malé Atoll and popular activities include sailing, snorkelling, diving, dolphin and whale watching, island hopping, catamaran cruises and a range of thrilling water sports. Popular South Malé Atoll islands include Velassaru, Olhuveli , Maafushi, Dhigufinolhu, Rannalh and Emboodhu Finolhu. We had an amazing week in the resort. Everything was perfect, from the airport transfer, until we left. The check-in was very smooth and quick, the room was specious, we’ve even got a very nice bad decoration and the cane on our anniversary day. The staff in the restaurant were so nice and smiling all the time, providing a very good service. The food was another level compared to other private resorts in the Maldives that we have visited before. Everything was tasty and flavorful, specially the burgers in the Grill Bar that were a must for us every day.
The boys from animation team are amazing, they are full of energy and ready to play all the sports around the island, we really enjoyed the beach volleyball every evening before sunset. The staff in the Grill Bar were very nice, making very nice cocktails and mocktails, and giving us a very good energy every day.
There are many options to have fun, like free excursions, non motorized water sports, beach dj party, live music and private dinner at the beach (extra charge).
The rooms were cleaned every day, mini bars refilled and we got assistance for any request that we had. This resort is definitely the place we will come back again very soon, not only us as a couple but we’ll bring our friends with us.

The hotel staff is generally polite and responsive. I would especially like to highlight several employees who truly made our stay comfortable.
A special thanks to the Russian-speaking coordinator, Ksenia, who helped us choose an excellent bungalow and promptly resolved any issues that arose.
In the Indian cuisine restaurant, we were very impressed by the waiter, Hareez. His efficiency and attention to detail made every one of our lunches and dinners a truly pleasant experience.
I would also like to acknowledge the work of the bartenders: Muizz, Mushil, Pasan, Suranga, Rathnayaka, Mohan. They work tirelessly, and the bar assortment is delightfully varied.
A separate thank you to the chef, Sanya! His skill in preparing pasta made me see this dish in a new light. I was willing to stand in line specifically at his station just to taste his culinary creations.

Maishaan and Salim who were at the Banyan restaurant were very polite and warm, always smiling.
Sanju, the chef made delicious indian meals. He was friendly too and very warm.
Muizz who was at the Hiyala bar is very attentive to everybody's request.
Dilaan who was our butler for the ocean villa was very friendly too.
The property accomodated pur requests, and would definitely recommend this property.

Amazing place for party,weekend,family trip and honeymoon. Total area of 83 acres of total fun. Best surf beach in maldives. If you come by u must get ocean villa to for total experience and adventure although beach villas and garden villa are equally good. Staff here are amazing and friendly. Overall, a great stay and I recommend this resort. We were here to surf mostly but enjoyed lots of other aspects of the island. It was the staff that really made it though.
Surfing - we are pretty beginner surfers, but still loved our experience here. We went out about 5 times to Ninjas - a five minute boat trip - it ranged from large (for us) to very small and from just the 4-5 surfers from our resort to 30+ from a variety of boats. It was pretty consistent and great fun pretty much the whole time. Lohis also looked great most days, and never had more than 5-6 surfers on it, but too big for us. The surf guides were great - especially Smiley who was with us every day.
Water sports - the staff here were great - very helpful and good communication. The Nurse Shark tour was outstanding, probably the best fun snorkeling I have had - to be so close up to so many sharks and stingrays was amazing. Snorkeling off the beach was fun too - not much live coral, but lots of fish.
Pool - impossible to get a pool chair most days, especially if you want shade. Dont expect any food or wait service for cocktails either. Oh, and take your own towel, we were never offered one.

I had a wonderful stay at Adaaran Club Rannalhi. Everything was just perfect. The resort is beautiful, the location is amazing, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. I would especially like to mention Eashani (Guest Relations Executive). She was extremely professional, kind, and always ready to help. She speaks several languages fluently and truly makes every guest feel welcome.
It’s no surprise that they received an award for the friendliest resort in 2024. They really deserve it.

We had a wonderful stay at Adaaran Club Rannalhi for our honeymoon. The island itself is truly paradise, and we enjoyed the beautiful beach and relaxing atmosphere.
A very special thank you goes to Sabina, who took excellent care of us during our stay. She was always friendly, attentive, and made us feel very welcome. Her service really stood out and made a big difference for us, she truly deserves recognition.
The room service was also excellent. Our room was always very clean, and someone came twice a day to tidy up and provide fresh water, which we really appreciated.
The only downside for us was the food variety. Unfortunately, I ended up eating pasta almost every day because most of the other dishes were not very appealing to me. Also, the all-inclusive snacks were quite limited, and the small shop only offered basic items like Pringles and Mars bars, which was a bit disappointing.
Overall, we still had a memorable time, but with some improvements in the food and snack options, the experience could be even better.

Great hotel! Villa on the beach with access to the beach, the beaches on the island are beautiful, there is a beautiful large pool. The territory of the hotel is very beautiful, clean. The villas (pool villa) was beautiful. The nautical theme is clearly visible and gives the rooms a cozy, yet elegant touch.
The food is great and everyone will be able to find something aligned with their taste at the buffet. (Indian curries, Italien and Spanish nights, daily changing salats, Chinese soups, fresh fruit, …)
The hotel is at a perfect position - close enough to the airport and still far enough for a tropical, deserted island.
And diving is amazing! Great to see sharks, turtles .. and - during the right season - beautiful mantas! Oleg is an incredible instructor - patient, professional and kind!

We were 8 days at this island and it was very beautiful. Food was good, everyday a huge selection. Our beach villa had an beautiful outlook. The shows could be a little bit better, not everday was an good attraction, but I really enjoyed the maledivian show!
Service was also very very good. The staff always helped us with everything. They deserve more than 5 stars, especially our host Glory. We became an answer for everything super fast. Thank you Glory 😊 I recommend the island for 7-8 days.
One thing is still missing, more indoor activities for rainy days. For example an indoor swimming pool or that the infinity pool can be covered if is rainy. I recommend, don‘t choose the maledivians on rainy season.

We have had a fabulous time here. The island has something for everyone.. gorgeous lagoon for swimming snorkeling kayaking or just watching the fish in the clear waters..even the reef sharks ... a serene swimming pool ...the Raalhu Bar to watch the expert surfers at Pasta Point .. The Raiyvilla Sunset Bar where Malinda and Ester make fantastic cocktails. (such lovely people who enjoyed good banter..thankyou).
The wonderful ladies at the Spa..would definitely recommend the Traditional Balinese massage for two.. bliss.
Our well appointed beach bungalow overlooked the lagoon so we always had a view and were only 10 steps from the waters edge. Thankyou to Abul for the daily bungalow service and for the chocolates delivered with a smile.
We dined at the Koimala which did not feel like a typical all inclusive restaurant..it never felt crowded.. food was delicious ..plentiful and varied and Executive Chef A.S. Jayasinghe even gave us his recipe for an excellent Chicken Dopiaza. Koimala has very good decor with linen napkins, lovely wooden paddle fans to circulate fresh air and views of the lagoon. All staff were great..but a big thankyou to Afnan for looking after us so well.
Finally huge respect for the General Manager Mr Robert Marlon who has been instrumental in initiating sustainability projects, such as the resort's organic farm, aims to cultivate a more sustainable future for the resort through eco-friendly practices and for the behind the scenes tour to show us what goes on to make this resort run as smoothly as it does.
We would love to return, this has been such a wonderfully relaxing holiday..just what we needed. Thankyou.

We visited this lovely island for the second time and enjoyed every single minute of our stay. First time was 2 years ago and it was an overall great vacation. This time, 2 years later it wasn‘t great, for us it was perfect. Thanks to all the kind and lovely people who took care for us, making this vacation the perfect one. We can‘t name all of them but at least 4 we would like to point out: there was Sulaiman our waiter, Ambarasan and Saha who created the most delicious rice and pasta dishes and of course Keshala taking care for the „healthy“ part of our nutrition. Thanks to all of you, you really made us feel at home.

We had one of the most amazing experience at sun siyam ohluveli. We stayed at the grand beach suite with pool . One of the best cottages we have seen !!!! Pool was temperature controlled and cleanliness was above mark . Last day we stayed at the water villa which was just amazing as usual.
Food we had a great spread with Indian and vegan counters. Served hot and fresh.

We stayed at Sun Siyam Olhuveli as a couple with our 10-year-old boy and had a wonderful overall experience — though a few service hiccups did take away from the perfection we expected at this price point.
We spent one night at the Grand Water Villa in Dream Island and the second night at the Sunset Beach Pavilion on the main island. Both stays were beautiful in their own way — the sunrise from the water villa was breathtaking, and the sunset from the beach pavilion was just as magical.
The resort itself is gorgeous, and the restaurants and buffet selections were great — good variety and quality. From our water villa, we saw baby sharks, colorful fish, and stingrays right beneath our deck, especially during early mornings and at night. It truly felt like a luxury island escape.
The staff overall were helpful and accommodating, but unfortunately, a few experiences left us disappointed. Our assigned host Stella wasn’t very responsive, and one reception staff named Mohammed was quite uncordial — his attitude felt dismissive when we approached him for help. When our room key card stopped working, instead of sending assistance, we were asked to walk back to reception after a long day, and he didn’t even apologize for the inconvenience.
Another disappointment was discovering a $35 pack of cigarettes I bought at one of the bars was spoiled (spotted from moisture). I didn’t raise it further due to low confidence in the response I’d receive. On checkout, when I mentioned the service issues to another staff member, she listened but, as expected, there was no follow-up or gesture of concern. I also noticed a $10 charity contribution added to my bill without any prior mention — which I’m happy to support, but I believe such things should be communicated first.
All in all, Sun Siyam Olhuveli offers a beautiful, luxurious experience with stunning views and great food — but for the price, service consistency and guest communication need improvement.

The service was absolutely outstanding, especially thanks to our Host, Mansoor, who went above and beyond to make every detail of our stay seamless. The food was another highlight – fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. Every meal felt like a culinary journey, with so many delicious options that kept surprising us throughout our stay.
The accommodations were stunning – luxurious yet cozy, with every comfort thoughtfully provided. Waking up to the breathtaking ocean views felt like a dream, and yet it was so easy to feel completely at home here.

Loved this little island! It’s small, beautiful, and feels really private. The bungalows are cozy, the open-roof bathroom gives a cool island vibe (just watch out for the occasional insect visitor!). The food was great, and the snorkeling spots are absolutely amazing, so much marine life to see! Just a heads-up: don’t mess with the triggerfish, they can get a bit aggressive 😅 Overall, an unforgettable experience!

we enjoyed our stay and had a fun. Bungalows are spacious with nice outdoor shower. There are lots of fun activities to enjoy for everyone. We ate at the Japanese restaurant and it was unbelievable. the general manager of the resort came to say hello and gave us a glass of champagne and cake for my birthday. Fantastic stay at Kurumba Maldives
We spent 2 nights at Kurumba and it was absolutely fantastic! The island and resort are stunning, and everything is perfectly taken care of. Our villa with a private pool in the garden was a wonderful place to relax, and the beaches were exactly what you dream of when thinking of the Maldives.
The service was outstanding – whether it was the restaurant manager or the housekeeping staff, everyone was super friendly and incredibly helpful. We joined several activities, which were well organized and fun, though unfortunately a few were cancelled due to the weather.
The food was excellent across the resort, especially at the buffet restaurant, but the highlight was the Japanese restaurant, which was truly spectacular. We enjoyed every moment of our stay and would love to return – next time for a bit longer, as 2 nights was far too short!

Our stay at Kurumba Maldives was truly the most beautiful and relaxing time we have ever had in the Maldives. The pictures online don’t even come close to how stunning it really is – reality was far more breathtaking! I am so glad we chose Kurumba.
As a family, we had an unforgettable time. From the warm welcome at the airport to our departure, we were looked after with such genuine care and hospitality. Our room was spotlessly clean and had direct access to the beach – absolutely perfect! The food was also delicious and varied.
A very special highlight was the last day, when my father was surprised with a birthday cake – such a thoughtful and heartfelt gesture that made us incredibly happy. Even on our departure day, the team took care of us by preparing a breakfast to take with us for the journey.
A heartfelt thank you goes to Maged Helm, who personally made sure that everything went smoothly, even just before our departure.

Very beautiful resort on a private island. It's Taj and you get the best services here. We booked premium villa for 2 nights and over water ocean villa for 1 night. The views are amazing, rooms are big enough and very comfortable, all rooms have access to the beach and give beautiful view of the India ocean. The resort has it's own speed boats for transfers. You get a very warm welcome upon arrival, the staff is really great, happy to serve and very courteous from reception to room services, restaurant to water activities, all staff will take great care of your stay. Food is really amazing, they have 3 restaurant which offers great assortment of food options from Continental to European, italian to chinese, Indian to asian range of food.

The day visit to Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru was absolutely excellent. Within one island you have the opportunity to visit the neighboring island Dhawara Ihuru. Excellent reef around both islands. We returned to Maldives after COVID and we chose Banyan Tree again due to the last pleasant experience. And this time we brought our kid and parents with us and they too had a fantastic time. Needless to mention about the reefs near the hotel which was breathtaking and even our young kid got to enjoy the snorkeling to the fullest checking out sharks and all different colorful fish.
Our stay at this Maldives resort was again remarkable, thanks to the extraordinary care and attention from the staff, they went the extra mile to make sure things are well taken care of. Special thanks to Waheed, the hotel manager, whose warm leadership ensured every detail was perfect, and Zendie, the restaurant manager, who made every dining experience delightful and personalized, this definitely helped compensate the quality of the food in the hotel that needs certain improvements. Chef Ann was wonderful and her Thai dishes are one of the best to try on the Island.
We were especially touched by Okta, who went above and beyond to assist us even during her off-duty hours, showing genuine kindness and dedication.
The presence of a clinic on the island also added peace of mind, reflecting the resort’s commitment to guest well-being. My family got an emergency after diving and good to have the help of the in-house doctor to care for him during our stay.
This team’s unmatched hospitality made our trip unforgettable. We can’t wait to return!

We stayed at Banyan Tree Vabbinfaru — and it was pure bliss! The resort is a slice of paradise: stunning beach, clear water, cozy villas — spotless, and thoughtfully designed — you can really feel the care in every detail.
The service is absolutely outstanding. Staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, always smiling, and genuinely willing to help. Special thanks to the manager, Gulnaz, who welcomed us warmly and checked in regularly to make sure everything was perfect. Her attention to detail and kind attitude made our stay even more special.
The spa was another highlight — the massage by Catherine was simply amazing. Deeply relaxing and rejuvenating, one of the best I’ve ever had.
We also loved both restaurants. The Japanese restaurant had a fantastic, serene atmosphere, and the Thai one offered bold, delicious flavors with beautifully crafted dishes. The staff in both were superb — warm, attentive, and highly professional.
Housekeeping was discreet and excellent — everything was always perfectly clean, and the service itself was done so subtly we barely noticed.
One thing that really surprised us — it often felt like we had the entire island to ourselves. That sense of privacy and peace was incredibly refreshing, especially after the hustle and bustle of city life. It was such a special, calming experience.
The only minor downside was the smell after fogging in the villa — we had to step out for a bit to let it air out. But honestly, it was just a small issue in an otherwise dreamy stay.
All in all — a perfect vacation. We can’t wait to come back!

Great hotel, offering unforgettable experiences. Firstly, it is located only 20 minutes away from the airport when traveling by speedboat. All the staff are incredibly polite and have a great level of english, all of them were great, I just couldn't remember all the names. We received a great welcome from Luu and Harry, which showed us the island and explained how everything works. The food was great, especially the omlette from the chef during the morning breakfast. There is a great variety of activities such as snorkeling around the house reef. For surplus charges, you could try scuba diving, which is a great experience, or go to an excursion to see the manta rays. Both marine lab and marine center offer great activities, such as save the reef from Harry and other staff. You should definitely try the night snorkeling with Chika, which will be the most insane 1 hour of your life. Finally, every 2 hours there is a boat which can carry you to the island nearby, where you can do snorkeling or diving. Definitely recommended this hotel which gave me unforgettable experiences for my whole life

I had a truly wonderful time during my stay everything was impressively well-organized and close to perfect. From the moment we landed, we were warmly welcomed by staff at the airport and transferred to the island with a complimentary 45-minute boat ride, which was a great way to start the trip.
The island offers a great variety of dining options. The main buffet restaurant, Lime & Chili, served delicious meals throughout the day, and the snack bar, Bay Rouge, was perfect for enjoying unlimited cocktails and light snacks in a relaxing atmosphere.
What made the experience even better was the level of service. The entire staff was attentive and professional, and I especially want to thank Arsham for his kindness and support throughout our stay. He always responded quickly and did his best to make sure we were comfortable.
There are also several activities available on the island, such as jet skiing and electric skateboarding. While enjoyable, they were a bit overpriced, and it's good to know that taxes are added on top of the listed prices.
On our check-out day, the staff continued to be thoughtful and welcoming — they even offered us a complimentary lunch before we left, which was a very nice touch and not something you see everywhere.
Overall, I was extremely satisfied with the experience. The cleanliness, comfort, food, and hospitality were all top-notch. I would definitely love to return in the future and highly recommend it to anyone considering a stay.

My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at the Sheraton Full Moon, and the experience exceeded our expectations in every way. The island itself is breathtaking—beautifully maintained, serene, and the perfect place to truly unwind.
What made our stay even more special was the incredible staff. Everyone we met was warm, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. A heartfelt thank you to Shurufa, who went above and beyond to take care of us, and to Maya, who looked after our villa with such care.
From start to finish, everything about the resort radiated relaxation and hospitality. We left with wonderful memories and would not hesitate to return.

The good:
The water front rooms are outstanding (see the photos).
Waters surrounding the hotel offer some glimpses of sealife.
Excellent snorkeling options.
The resort also offers various water activities, such as kayaking.
A good selection of restaurants, and the breakfast options were quite good.
The hotel is very efficient as organising transfers from the airport, and this was done very professionally.
The not so good:
The standard of service is inconsistent. For example, at breakfast the floor staff were excellent. Friendly, engaging with all guests, and providing prompt attention. However the "station" staff were less professional. The lady at the crepe station was miserable and surly and would not respond to me verbally, and the gentleman at the noodle station refused to prepare fresh dishes, and gestured at the pre-prepared dishes and walked away (perhaps disinclined to prepare fresh dishes at 10:20am).
More training for these staff would perhaps be beneficial, or closer supervision from the manager on duty could also help to make the standard of service more consistent.
This hotel lacks some of the pristine beach areas of other resorts in the area.
The bag delivery to the rooms after check-in took 25 minutes, however they were promptly delivered after a quick call to reception. However this could cause inconvenience for guests eager to freshen up after long journeys.

I am still staying at the hotel as I write this review, and while I want to emphasize that around 90% of the hotel staff are genuinely kind and helpful, unfortunately the same cannot be said for the management and reception team.
Before booking, I noticed that the Marriott Bonvoy website was constantly showing fluctuating prices. I ended up booking a BB rate, expecting that the hotel might be able to help me upgrade to all-inclusive upon arrival. However, that was not the case. The attitude I encountered at reception was quite dismissive, almost as if saying, “You’re already stuck on the island, you have no choice.” Everything seems to revolve around squeezing as much money as possible from guests.
Even when I offered to pay the price difference for the current all-inclusive rate I saw online, the response I received was, “Well, you should have booked that rate beforehand. This is the price now.” I found that very unaccommodating, especially from a hotel brand that operates year-round—not just seasonally for a few months.
Prices on the island are incredibly high. For example, bike rentals are $80/day, a simple bowl of noodles is $45, and on top of that, there is a 10% service charge and 17% government tax. While I understand this is a luxury destination, there should still be a degree of flexibility and customer care—especially for loyal guests.
Lastly, I kindly suggest reminding some of the reception staff that they are not the owners of the hotel. A bit more humility and a guest-oriented attitude would go a long way in improving the overall experience.

Some might say Baros would be the perfect hideaway in a zombie apocalypse — an untouched sanctuary where the chaos of the world feels like a distant memory. Others? They’d simply call it heaven on earth. From the moment we approached the island, the shimmering aquamarine water and the gentle dance of vibrant reefs welcomed us like old friends. The local fish, who’ve likely called these waters home for years, added to the idyllic charm.
Upon docking, we were greeted with a warm smile from our personal butler, Miss Shinta. She was more than a host — she was the heart of our island experience. After a seamless check-in, we embarked on a delightful island tour, exploring the pristine beaches, a well-equipped gym, and the lush gardens where Baros grows its own vegetables and fruits. Every step was like peeling back the layers of a perfect daydream.
Breakfast at Lime is an absolute must. The eggs? To die for. The freshness of the local sushi and sashimi felt like they were crafted to tantalize the soul. And if you think breakfast is just eggs and toast, think again. From champagne on demand to freshly squeezed juices and the star of the morning — the coconut açaí bowl — I shamelessly devoured no fewer than five.
For those with a sense of adventure, the house reef is an underwater paradise. Snorkeling through the coral gardens was like entering a living, breathing aquarium. Every dive was a brush with nature’s finest artwork.
When it came to dinner, Cayenne stole the show. The Butcher’s Block was a carnivore’s dream — aged prime beef, Japanese wagyu, and a flawless Beef Wellington that made every bite a memory. And if the meats weren’t enough to lure you in, the decadent desserts and a vibrant Japanese hibachi à la carte surely would.
For cocktails, The Lighthouse is where magic meets mixology. I highly recommend the Espresso Martini — a perfect blend of bold and sweet that wraps the night in sophistication. The hors d'oeuvres here were a delight, setting the tone for the dazzling sunsets that grace the island’s horizon.
A heartfelt thank you to John and Francis, two incredible hosts who ensured our stay was nothing short of extraordinary. Their warmth, genuine conversations, and dedication to hospitality truly made Baros feel like home.
Pro Tip: Take lots of pictures. Every corner of this island is a postcard waiting to be captured. From the golden sunsets to the rippling reflections of the sea, it’s impossible not to find beauty.

The quality of the food in the various restaurants is excellent and the variety of choice leaves nothing to be desired. The breakfast is particularly rich and varied in choice. The nearby reef for snorkelling is very pleasant. The gym is well equipped and pleasantly air-conditioned. A small beach for guests with shaded areas allows you to relax away from the villa. Everything on the atoll is within easy walking distance. A tasteful design is convincing throughout.

We just arrived back home so this is fresh off the press. Short review ; if you can, do it. Picture perfect, awesome staff and great food and bev packages. The house reefs are really good and the water sport options are basically everything.
Longer review ; we landed in Male late but were greeted at the airport and had a great skipper take us to the island / atoll in the dark at hyper speed in a large, fast modern boat.
Check in was thorough but it was late so we didn’t get a full run down. The next morning we woke up in our room out over the water and instantly felt relaxed.
We became more relaxed in the capable hands on Firey the barman who along with his mates, made sure we were always topped up with water or a drink to keep us ticking.
In between there was some swimming, snorkeling under and around our room, or anywhere around the amazing atoll/island.
The pool party was fun with a few organised games and we were blessed to have DJ Lenka/Elena who made a couple of oldies forget their age, and, along with the delightful Chris on a steel, bongo and drums gave our holiday an epic soundtrack.
The sand is pure, the waters clean, and away from the rooms they are teeming with every variety of fish you could imagine. We saw every fish on the ID charts at the rock bar on our daily walk around the island from nemo to reef shark. Just perfect.
The spa was a great inclusion too and relaxed and restored us, highly recommend the additional time and expense for some deep relaxation.
The rocks bar for a sunset drink sounds so cliche, and it totally is, and it is totally stunning on the right evening with a cocktail in hand on the deck on a beanbag with a cooling breeze. I miss it already.
Then there is the food. We are vegan, and while everyone offered to cook us additional foods, the standard variety at the courtyard was amazing and sous chef Sanjay was so attentive to us and everyone it made every standard meal a highlight. The pasta and pizza dude Tore was incredible. The speed and care, remembering people’s preferences, tailoring to your taste .. amazing.
Then Just Wok and Just Grill, got to say with our diet I was worried about just grill, but they were amazing and I enjoyed the best grilled eggplant and tahini I’ve ever tasted. Just wok was always going to be an easier choice for us, and they did not disappoint with dishes and options across the menu. The Asian green soup and chilli silken tofu are etched into my taste memory.
Are you still reading ? Sorry. I’m not post holiday glow, we just genuinely needed a break and to reset, and all the front of house teams, and back of house teams at OBLU select Sangeli deserve praise and delivered more than we expected every single day, thanks to the music and bars every single night, and all the way through to the beautiful housekeeping teams, every single sleep was serene. Thanks. ❤️

Our stay at Ihuru Dhawa island was a dream-come true. On a paradise island with crystal-clear waters and a vibrant lively riff showcasing sharks, brightly colored fishes and tortoises - which I have otherwise only seen in documentary films.
The professional staff has an eye for details, whilst offering you a down to earth atmosphere as well as creating a vibe that makes you feel at home the moment you put your first step on the island. The manager Mr. Simaad Abdulla and Julia, personally greeted us on the Island at 5 am. Which is too early in the morning. We felt so very welcomed!
Ihuru is a picturesque cozy island with modern amenities as well as a luxurious spa, fitness facilities which include yoga sessions and everything else that is required for a comfortable and relaxing holidays.
The dining experience in a postcard ambience is remarkable, made even more special by the kind staff with awesome smiles. Thank you Sujina for your professional approach!
I have such fond memories of the young man at the breakfast buffet, always preparing fruit plates or juices with a warm smile. Nice way to start the day!
The young Chef Pawan at the egg counter was equally delightful, skillfully making different types of eggs, waffles, and pancakes. The creative pancake presentations brought joy to the children. My daughter was definitely impressed.
The culinary highlights are outstanding, where the chef Rupankar didn’t hesitate to make any extra effort to accommodate our special requests. He even came to the table later that evening to confirm that all was up to our expectations. We had the best Fish ever.
Although it was 5 months ago April 2024 we remember the young apprentice Abdulla Maaniu - who would serve us during all meals with a bright smile. We looked forward daily to see him during the meals.
My husband celebrated his 55th Birthday at Dhawa Ihuru - we couldn’t have found a better place to celebrate this special day. Sujina the restaurant hostess as well as the room service decorated not only the dining table but also the villa. My husband was speechless. We were very grateful for all the exceptional effort the staff took to make such beautiful memories for us.
The island's luxurious spa offers a variety of massage therapies. Dr. Sharma is dedicated to the well-being of the guests. I had three acupuncture sessions for my frozen shoulder. The treatment included a soothing shoulder massage and exercises, which were both effective and comforting. Dr. Sharma is a true professional, and I appreciated his holistic approach that addresses the body, mind, and soul - not just the shoulder.
My daughter and me experienced our first parasailing activity around the Ihuru island. Whilst taking on the birds view we were guided by the captain Yamin and Athoof in a very caring and professional manner. It was a breath taking view and an unforgettable experience.
Someday we shall return to Ihuru - to these white sands, to these infinite shades of blue, and most of all to these warm and courteous people who made our holidays unforgettable!

Angsana illuru is a wonderful island resort. The staff are all courteous and very helpful and smiling.
The villas are so beautiful, has a pvt sit out, with long swings and open bed sit out besides beach beds. All villas lead to the beach about 50mtrs from villa. The rooms are cleaned I guess 3times a day.
Drawback are no swimming pool, no gym area, no recreational area and the scuba equipment are of cheap quality given for free but it's easily breaks into the ocean and chargeable 50$ each for each loss. Please take your own scuba equipment.

My husband and I stayed at Velassaru Maldives for our anniversary, and it was an unforgettable experience. The staff were so warm and welcoming, and the service was excellent all around. We stayed in an overwater bungalow, which was beautiful, private, and had direct access to the lagoon, perfect for relaxing and enjoying the views.
The resort itself is breathtaking, with crystal-clear water, soft white sand, and plenty of activities to enjoy, some of which are complimentary depending on the day. We had full board, and every meal was delicious. A special highlight was our private dinner with Chef Arnold, who was wonderful and made the evening so memorable.
Velassaru truly exceeded our expectations. It was the perfect mix of luxury, tranquility, and outstanding hospitality. We can’t wait to return one day!

Excellent five night stay. I stayed in a deluxe bungalow for 4 and then got an upgrade as a gold HH member to an overwater bungalow. I much preferred the regular bungalow as I had a big outdoor bathroom with shower. I just loved that! Even though that didn’t have a beach view I was only a minute walk out the door to a quiet stretch of beach. I was in 136 which was just lovely. It was on the windier side of island which was fine for me. Great breakfasts. Free water for room. Slippers, flip flops and beach bag also in room. Boat ride to and from airport was easy. I got a nice welcome platter of fruit and snacks on arrival. Ice cream man goes around island giving out free ice cream twice a day. I would stay here again!!!

Perfect place for a family getaway. All what you need in one place . As for kids the kids club and their staff gave us complete confront that kids are in safe hands and carefully attended to and regularly updated. A particular staff Mando was especially friendly and very nice with my child. I found that staff in kids park pay very special attention to kids wellbeing and Saftey and are always keeping parents updated about their kids situation . This was a big plus for our trip.

We are now visiting this stunning resort for the eighth time(!), and until now, we had not taken the opportunity to share our experience. We are delighted to do so now.
The entire property is a true gem: impeccably maintained, spotless, and beautifully nestled within a breathtaking turquoise lagoon. Every stay feels like stepping into a serene oasis of tranquility and beauty.
The rooms are elegantly furnished, exceptionally well-kept, and offer the utmost comfort – over the years, our experiences have always been outstanding.
The friendliness of the staff is impressive. A special note of gratitude goes to the entire resort team. From the very first moment, we feel welcomed, genuinely cared for, and truly valued. The friendliness, attentiveness, and warmth of every staff member are remarkable – they give the resort its soul.
Culinary experiences here are absolutely exceptional. Our personal favorites include Baan Huraa, Origami, Fushi Café, and Sea.Fire.Salt.
We especially wish to highlight Baan Huraa: the food is simply outstanding, the atmosphere wonderfully authentic, and the entire team is incredibly warm and attentive. A heartfelt tribute goes to Suda, the extraordinary chef – she brings passion and heart to every dish, and year after year, she enchants us with her culinary creations. Even in Thailand, we have rarely eaten as well as with Suda. Dear Suda, congratulations – you are truly a jewel of this restaurant!
We also want to acknowledge the wonderful team at Fushi Café, especially Shan and all other staff members, who are consistently attentive, professional, and charming. Here, one feels genuinely pampered and embraced by true hospitality in every detail.
As an entrepreneur myself I know very well: A hotel is only as exceptional as its people – and these staff members make all the difference!
We thank the entire team from the bottom of our hearts for countless unforgettable moments and for the genuine warmth with which they welcome us each time.
We are already looking forward to our next visit to this little slice of paradise.

We had a wonderful stay at Anantara Maldives, staying in two villas with our amazing host Hasna, who was kind, helpful, and made sure everything went smoothly. The rooms were clean, and the beach was beautiful.
We opted for the full board package, which offered a great variety of restaurants with tasty meals throughout the day. The kids’ menu was a nice touch too. The spa experience was absolutely amazing—relaxing, professional, and a true highlight of our trip.
That said, two things could be improved: none of the restaurants had air conditioning, which made dining less comfortable in the heat. Also, full board surprisingly did not include water—even during meals—which felt a bit unreasonable, especially compared to other resorts we’ve visited.
Overall, it was a memorable and enjoyable vacation, and we truly appreciated the warm hospitality.

Choosing a resort from the many in the Maldives is so difficult - but Kagi Maldives Resort and Spa ticked all the right boxes for us during our 8 night couples visit in mid-March.
The non-negotiable requirement was a good, easily accessible house reef for snorkeling. Big tick! It could be accessed both from the beach and the steps from our ocean villa and there was a good range of sealife, including turtles, sharks and many different types of reef fish. We also thoroughly enjoyed our dives with the dive centre pros who were so professional and fun to spend time with. They took us through a number of skill checks at the start of the requisite initial dive on the house reef. After that, we enjoyed a number of dives on the very spacious dive boat. Drinks and plentiful snacks were available between dives. The degree of professionalism shown by the pros would make Kagi a great place to learn to dive or upskill. Indeed, the dive pros encouraged us to study for a new qualification (enriched air course) during our stay, so we can now dive with Nitrox.
We wanted a peaceful resort and Kagi did not disappoint. Although you can arrive by seaplane, they land at a small pontoon about 5 minutes away by boat so there is no disturbance from the planes themselves. The island is very small and you can walk around it in less than 10 minutes. There are only 50 rooms and while we were told it was quite full when we arrived, it never really felt it. And 8 days later, it had emptied out considerably.
The price difference between the beach villas and overwater villas is noticeably less here than at other resorts which let us achieve one of our nice-to-haves - the quintessential Maldivian overwater villa. The room was well presented and equipped with functioning air conditioning, plenty of storage space and surfaces, a comfortable sofa and a well-stocked minibar which was replenished daily. Both the indoor and outdoor bathrooms were very spacious. But my favourite spot was probably the deck, with its private sunbeds, plunge pool and steps down to the ocean as well as lovely sunset views - just perfect for a sundowner beer from the mini-bar.
I also wanted a resort with good quality food, ideally with options apart from just a buffet and, again, Kagi delivered. Just to be clear though, the buffet here was very good quality and, and despite the small size, offered a number of different cooking stations so that items could be cooked to order at all mealtimes. The buffet offerings varied each day for lunch and dinner and there were some noticeably lighter offerings at lunchtime. An alternative at lunchtime is the poolside bar menu or the spa corner (though we didn't try the latter). We were also able to use the 2 à la carte restaurants for dinner a couple of times each (they can each be booked once for every 3 night stay). The Italian was fine although on our second visit, the service could have been quicker. The Pacific Rim restaurant was fantastic - the dishes were beautifully presented and tasted delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals there. We booked the all inclusive (AI) package and the drinks list was quite extensive, including a good range of cocktails and named wines. Our AI package also included a sunset cruise and one afternoon high-tea. The à la carte restaurants and activities could all be easily booked via an app.
We really enjoyed our time at Kagi. The staff were friendly, the service was largely excellent and everything just worked as it should do. This was our first visit to the Maldives and I have no doubt there will be more to come. But now I'm torn between going elsewhere and returning to Kagi as it just suited us so well. Maybe we'll just have to do a split stay!

We booked a week here through Simply Maldives. This was a truly memorable experience from the location, service, food and drinks. We had an ocean villa facing the sunrise. We did a lot of snorkelling around the beautiful reef and saw many different types of fish. From arrival to departure, the service level of the staff was outstanding. We treated ourselves to a massage and wine tasting which were both superb. Overall an unforgettable experience and one we hope to experience again one day. Thank you to everyone.

It’s delightful to see that many of the staff members from last year are still here, as well as returning guests, which is a testament to the island’s excellence.

A wonderful experience with my family. The scenery was breathtaking — just a few steps down from our room and we were right at the blue ocean, where we could swim straight away. The room was comfortable, clean, and even included wine in the price. The food was varied and fresh. I was especially impressed with the underwater restaurant, where we could enjoy dinner while watching fish swimming around. The spa was very relaxing, and I thought it was brilliant to have a glass panel so that during the massage we could watch the waves and see little fish swimming by.
😪The only downside was that our butler did not show professional behavior. When we checked out and were waiting for the boat to take us to the airport, there were a few families around who tipped him. As we hadn’t given our tip yet, his attitude seemed to change and he was no longer as warm and welcoming as before.

I don’t usually write negative reviews, but our experience at Ozen was so awful that I feel obligated to warn others. We stayed at Ozen for one night only after our flight was unexpectedly canceled — and I wish we hadn’t. This resort ruined the end of what was otherwise a beautiful vacation in the Maldives.
Let’s start with the food — it was disgusting. The buffet was full of stale, old-tasting dishes. Even basic items like cereal were stale and croissants were so hard they could literally break a tooth. To make matters worse, we found bugs and ANTS in the food as shown in the pictures. I even have a video of ants walking around inside a cake and a photo of bugs crawling on buffet items. Completely unacceptable for any resort, let alone one that charges these insane prices and supposedly a luxurious one. As a pregnant woman, this was horrifying. I was extra cautious and stuck to what I assumed were the “safe” options — but even those felt risky.
Our overwater villa wasn’t much better. The pool was dirty, and shockingly, it had spikes at the bottom that could’ve easily caused injury. The room itself felt outdated and poorly maintained, nowhere near what the pictures or description promised.
Service was equally poor. We called multiple times asking for just ice, and it would take over an hour to arrive — every time. When we complained about everything to the manager, all they did was offer a meal as compensation. No refund, no accountability, and no sense of urgency to fix the problems. It felt like they just didn’t care.
For the ridiculous price per night, the quality and service were an absolute joke. This place markets itself as a 5-star luxury resort, but in reality, it’s more like a poorly run 2-star hotel with a pretty view.
What makes this worse is that we had just come from Conrad and Hilton Amingiri, which charged around the same price per night — and gave us true 5-star luxury with great food, service, and facilities. Ozen charges the same but gives you a low-end, chaotic, and unsafe experience — even while advertising itself as a premium all-inclusive resort. It’s a scam.
Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere else. We left feeling ripped off, disappointed, and honestly just grossed out. Avoid this place if you value your health, comfort, and money. It completely ruined the final memory of our trip. Never again.
UPDATE:
Following my initial review, I was contacted directly by the General Manager of OZEN LIFE MAADHOO, Ms. Elisabeth Alleyne. She had just returned to the island and was not present during our stay. She reached out with a very sincere and thoughtful message, personally acknowledging our experience, apologizing for the issues we faced, and confirming that a full refund for our one-night stay had been processed.
I believe it’s only fair not to leave just the initial feedback, but to also update others on how the resort responded. While our actual stay was disappointing and fell far short of expectations—especially given the safety, food, and cleanliness concerns—I appreciate the level of accountability and care shown afterward. Ms. Alleyne took ownership of the situation and assured us that corrective actions were already being taken to address the problems we experienced. I hope future guests won’t face the same problems we did.
Her response helped ease some of the frustration we felt. I respect that management made the effort to take responsibility and resolve things professionally.

Room: We stayed at water villa with pool which was well designed to allow you to see ocean from everywhere in the villa from bathtub, shower room and even toilet. Mini bar was refilled every day and filtered water was provided too. I found the stairs to the sea is a bit dangerous as it was too steep and rusty. Not much coral in front of the villa, but managed to see few small fish and stingrays.
Service: From start to finish, everyone was very welcoming and call you by name and greet you whenever they see you in the resort. Butler will help you to arrange any requests you may have.
F&B: Considering it’s all inclusive resort, food options are on the wider side especially if you stay longer than 4 days, basically you get to experience all the restaurants at least once during the stay. Quality wise, the resort we stayed after (non AI) was a lot better. For example, Bahn Mi was far from the Vietnamese Bahn Mi that we know and some of the ice cream had strong
artificial taste, doneness of the steak are hit or miss (I maybe a little picky as I have F&B background). However considering it is AI, I guess it is still acceptable yet there is definitely a room for improvement in this area perhaps by focusing more in quality over quantity.
Activities: There are some free daily tours available in AI, such as daylight cruise(you may see dolphins if lucky), snorkeling tour etc. They are only about an hour so if you are not so keen to sign up for chargeable and longer tour, yet still want to experience Maldives activity casually, it is a great option.

My partner and I stayed at Anantara Veli for my birthday week and it was truly a spectacular experience.
I really want to call out all the staff that made this week incredibly magical for me. Starting off with food (which is most important), we absolutely loved Cumin restaurant at Veli which had incredible and authentic dishes from India and Sri Lanka (they also accommodate dietary preferences like gluten and dairy free). We loved getting to know the staff better and where everyone is from - special shout out to Logu, Ziyan, Bokey, chef Elayaraja and chef Kranthi for making every visit to Cumin truly amazing! They were so kind and accommodating!
Next up, fitness and wellness - we signed up for the PT and wellness sessions everyday - Midhun (PT) was very knowledgeable and gave us really good engaging workouts! He also customised it based on how we’re feeling on the day which really helped especially if you have a busy day ahead! Kruti from the wellness spa was really sweet and suggested really good massages and facials to try - special shout out to Derus, Aria, Irene and Ika - highly recommend them for your massages and facials!
Veli has a ton of activities so you will definitely not be bored! I would recommend staying here minimum for 1 week to make best use of all the activities they have to offer.
Lastly, Ali our villa host was a superman - he helped organise our schedules and was really flexible with timings. Super reliable and took all the stress of planning away!
This is easily one of my best trips and I’m excited to come back soon!

The customer service is top notch.
The reception staff (our host Ibrahim), the wait staff are very well trained, very professional, knowledgeable and friendly. This itself made us enjoy the stay. The food in all the restaurants is excellent, you try anything from a buffet or alacarte menu, you will enjoy it.
The bungalows are spacious and have good views. Rooms are well cleaned and all amenities are topped up every day. Our housekeeper (Rashad, if not mistaken) was very friendly, such a humble person.

Wonderful location, about 30min boat ride from Male. Water is stunning, clear, clean and the staggeringly beautiful blue/green colour. The resort was great. We stayed in an over water villa and being able to take a few steps from the deck into the water to swim and snorkel was amazing. We had the full board covering all meals at 4 of the 7 restaurants (drinks separate and the 3 signature restaurants were discounted based on full board already paid). The food was plentiful and delicious. The staff were friendly and delightful. Rashad, Fadia, Shan and Ali were all wonderful. Smiling and happy. They made us laugh and definitely added to a great experience. We'd happily return.

What a wonderful place!
Como has that something, magic. A small island, with down to earth luxury, serenity in the air, a beautiful lagoon and an excellent reef for snorkeling. The wellness area is perfect, top treatments and experienced therapists. My biggest worry was that I would get bored with just one restaurant, how wrong I was! Excellent a la card menus as well as themed dinners, quality ingredients and preparation. But most importantly the wonderful people who work here, absolutely everyone. COMO Cocoa Island exceeded every expectation. From the short, scenic boat ride from Malé airport to the moment we stepped into our overwater villa, everything was flawless. The serenity, the service, the design—it’s luxury that whispers, never shouts.
The food is phenomenal. The chefs are passionate and creative, offering everything from health-focused Shambhala dishes (like açai bowls and plant-based meals) to Michelin-worthy tasting menus. Every meal was a delight, especially under the stars or watching the sunset from the covered outdoor dining area.
The house reef is among the best in the Maldives—vibrant and alive. We’ve visited many luxury resorts over the years, and the snorkel gear here is by far the best we’ve used. Every detail is top-tier: linens, towels, spa, yoga, hydrotherapy pool, and even the transfers. The staff—especially our butler Bino—were warm, professional, and intuitive.
COMO Cocoa Island offers a unique blend of privacy and community. Many guests are return visitors (we even witnessed a beautiful birthday celebration with international guests), which says a lot. And special thanks to the incredible medical team on-site who helped us with care and grace.

COMO Cocoa is a truly stunning and exceptional resort —
I first visited in 2022 and returned in 2025. On my 11 Maldives trips, this is the first resort I’ve visited twice.
Como cocoa feels like a scene straight out of a movie. It’s incredibly peaceful, quiet, and breathtakingly beautiful, with a pristine lagoon and powdery white sandbank.
The house reef is good for snorkeling. Nearby, there are world-class dive sites like Kandooma Thila, where you can encounter a lots of grey reef sharks and eagle rays.
Dining at COMO Cocoa is impressive. The quality of the food are outstanding, and the service adds to the overall luxurious experience.
COMO Cocoa is one of my favorite places in all of the Maldives.

It is difficult to find the words to describe just how good the COMO Cocoa Island resort is.The island is very small but perfectly formed.
We had booked to go to the Maldives for a Music In Paradise event, so cannot claim to have found ourselves here due to exhaustive research, but rather as the most alluring option for the package we chose. But what a wonderful outcome as our stay was just perfect.
COMO Cocao Island is an exercise in offering understated luxury. It is so incredibly well run and the excellent staff work so well as a team that they make looking after you and catering to your needs seem so effortless when it is surely due to much hard work behind the scenes. There are only just over 30 villas but even if the island is booked out it feels very private.
There are a lot of activities on offer, including three amzing house reefs to snorkel. Morning starts with Yoga helped to get the day off to a great start. It is amazing just to be able to swim in the sea directly from your villa.
If you are a foodie then this romantic island is a real treat and the chef and kitchen staff are incredibly talented and offer up truly delicious fare, with nightly specials to keep the menu options dynamic. Ravi at the bar is master at mixing cocktails - we recommend you ask him for suggestions as some of the most tasty concoctions are not listed on the menu.
We had a unforgettable stay and are already plotting our return (Arta - you are warned!)

A wonderful resort, Arriving and checking in is quick and easy, This tiny island is by far the most relaxing one we have ever been on and the level of service this Como property deserves all the praise! The level of detail and personalization was incredible. Amazing food, beautiful beach, The house reef is in great condition and full of life.
The resort manager Arta, Our Butler Nattey, GSA Uthoo /Sithin/Sultan/Muru/Fanny and all the staff members were so kind and pleasant. The staff seem well looked after and happy and thus their service is from the heart and not forced. Such a pleasant experience and relaxing vacation. Would highly recommend!

Amazing Stay at Huvafen Fushi Resort! 🌴
Our stay at Huvafen Fushi was absolutely wonderful. The resort itself is stunning — beautiful villas, crystal-clear water, and a truly relaxing atmosphere. All the staff members were incredibly kind and attentive, making our experience even more special.
The food at all the restaurants, Celsius & Salt, was delicious — every meal felt like a treat! We also loved the daily morning yoga sessions and the sunset fishing trip, both of which became highlights of our stay.
Snorkeling around the island was unforgettable — we got to see turtles, harmless reef sharks, and we were even lucky enough to spot a large ray!
A huge thank you to Nihan, Claire, Adam, Amill, and our amazing yoga instructor for making our trip so memorable. We left with beautiful memories and if I have the chance, I’d definitely love to visit again and meet you all.

Our family stayed at Huvafen Fushi last week.
First of all, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to our Thakuru, Soppe. He understood and carried out all our requests with great care, and was especially kind to my six-year-old daughter. Like many girls her age, she is quite shy and takes time to warm up to new people, but thanks to Soppe, she was able to settle into the resort perfectly and have a wonderful time.
This was our second visit to the Maldives, and based on our personal experience, Huvafen Fushi was far better in many aspects compared to the resort we stayed at before.
The food at CELSIUS, the restaurant where breakfast is served, was especially delicious. The underwater environment was clean and we were able to see sharks quite often, which was exciting.
There were a few minor downsides, but the positives far outweighed them.
Coming back to my daughter — when we decided on a vacation in the Maldives, our biggest concern was that she might get bored.
However, Soppe introduced us to the kids’ activities, and they turned out to be absolutely fantastic. My daughter especially loved kids’ yoga (I can’t recall the instructor’s name, but she was incredibly kind and affectionate toward my daughter), and my daughter enjoyed all the other activities as well.
What could have been just a simple vacation filled with swimming and beach time became a much more memorable and enriching experience, thanks to the wonderful kids’ program.
Since we had a morning flight on our last day, we had to leave the resort at dawn. We already knew that CELSIUS restaurant wouldn’t be open that early, so we planned to have breakfast at the airport instead.
However, to our surprise, the resort kindly provided us with a complimentary in-room breakfast service before our departure. That thoughtful gesture truly moved us deeply.
We were so grateful for how the staff took care of our family with dedication until the very end. If we ever travel to the Maldives again, our family will definitely choose Huvafen Fushi once more.

Had the most wonderful family trip at Huvafen fushi. The property is wonderful and the staff is so warm and friendly. I cannot thank Samaah enough for taking such good care of us, no request was too much and everything we asked for was met with a ‘certainly’ ! We visited to celebrate my mum’s birthday and we couldn’t have made a better selection. The reef is accessible from the beach and we even saw a bunch of sharks! We did the underwater spa and that was superb too.

Stayed here for only 1 night. The island is extremely beautiful, room is also exceptional. Our room attendant Ikram and the staff at breakfast were really caring and provided great service. This unfortunately is where the great service ends. For starters the slippers and sandals they provide in the room are clearly used. I don't think I ever seen this in a luxury hotel before, completely unacceptable. I mean how hard is it to provide new slippers.
When we first arrived and were being driven to our villa when another staff member actually hit our cart with their own, never expected to get into a "car" accident on an island haha. No big deal as impact was very minor but still really took me by surprise. Then 2 other customers who flagged down our cart were walking and asked our driver if they can get a lift to their vila, the butler/driver was hesitant, this is where I was like we got 2 extra seats of course they can join us, so they were allowed to get on and join us.
We are Hilton Diamond members and our return flight was at 9pm, I had asked for late check out weeks before arriving and was told no problem depending on availability. When we arrived we were told the resort was 50-60% occupied. Around 8 or 9 PM we got a message from our butler that we needed to vacate the room at 11 am and they had 2 options for the return boat one at 6 pm the other was I believe at noon. Since our flight was at 9 PM we said we will do the 6PM boat. Our Buttler said that we still had to leave the room at 11 and wait in their library and again as diamond members we are supposed to have 4 pm check out if the resort isn't full which it clearly wasn't. In the morning we got a letter saying our check out was at 5:30 but it didn't match what our butler told us, so at breakfast we asked to speak to the GM who confirmed our check out time at 5:30 for the 6 PM boat. Great news just wish they would have honored this without the drama and I can't control when their boat departs.
The last issue was at departure, like I said earlier I liked our room attendant Ikram and left his a good tip on the bed. When the staff arrived to get our bags I informed them that I had a laptop in my bag and to be careful with it. A crew of 4 people then went into the room to "get our bags" when we only had 2 large and 2 small bags. We were put into a separate cart and wanted to drive off, I asked them to stop so I can see my bags being loaded and to make sure my bag with my laptop isn't damaged and they weren't happy when I asked them not to go into the room and I would roll out the bags myself. Even though I rolled out the bags myself the 3/4 people still went into the room and I am pretty sure they did so to take the tip I left for our room attendant although I obviously can't prove that, it just really upset me.

Juma, Saylei, Muja, Bella, Dyan, Noel, Soppe, Shamil, Alina, and many others made staying at Huvafen Fushi an absolutely incredible experience. I had never been to the Maldives and was solo traveling, but the staff went above and beyond to make sure I was always comfortable.
From the moment I arrived at the airport, I was taken to an air-conditioned space to wait a few minutes for my boat transfer. From that moment on, I never had to carry a bag. Everything was wheeled to the boat, loaded, unloaded, and sent to my room. Fresh, chilled coconut water was served immediately once onboard the luxurious boat, and staff with wet hand towels and champagne were on the dock when I arrived.
I could go on and on about the special moments created during my stay. The quality of the food in the full-board package was great. The underwater massage was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. I went snorkeling three times a day and took full advantage of the float pool. I found the amenities so enjoyable that I was rarely in my beautiful underwater bungalow during the day. However, it was STUNNING and I felt as though I was living in a dream.
Thank you so much to everyone at Huvafen Fushi for giving me a once-in-a-lifetime experience!

A true paradise! Best location in Maldives! The staff was incredibly friendly, cheerful and helpful. The food was absolutely delicious, so many choices, so many different cuisines with impeccable service. The rooms are big and spacious and the beds are beyond comfortable! Excellent cocktails at the bar by the pool with great music performance each night!

This truly is an experience of living on a an island in the middle of the ocean, there’s so much to do on this island that you need for five days here they have a whole array of sports including tennis, Pickleball, swimming jet, skis, sail boats, scuba, diving and fishing. They have many different restaurants on this island, and we never got tired of eating at the same place. May I also added the breakfast is included every morning and it’s one of the best breakfast since I’ve ever had.

Very good resort but very expensive. Beautiful place. Is it worth it? Let's just say it's a supremely relaxing holiday if you can afford it, but personally the prices made me a bit anxious. The service is faultless and courteous as you could imagine and the restaurants are on the whole excellent and it's generally picture perfect. I did move villa because of the noise from he desalination plant, but the noise didn't bother my wife. Everything that makes a Maldivian holiday special is present here. The only unauthentic thing is that the stunning island and its beaches are largely man-made, not that you'd know it though. Perhaps there may be a certain lack of charm, but that could just be the Russian gangster guests, who in any case are easy to avoid. The management has a party once a week with unlimited free canapés and drinks, so that's good. A new 60ft Azimut boat takes you there, so that's cool too. I Can't really complain, but I won't be returning because I'm just not rich enough.

It's expensive, sure. But you get what you pay for. Everything at Reethi Rah is meticulously cared for. I believe the staff to guest ratio while we stayed was something like 4 to 1. Amazing food at every restaurant on the island.
The only negative, apart from the general price of the place, would be our experience with mosquitoes. I didn't expect them to be quite so bad. They were numerous and really hampered our ability to enjoy the private pool. To be fair to One and Only they did spray our villa promptly on multiple occasions when we requested. And while this may or may not be something One and Only can control, I would still think twice about visiting the Maldives again during the rainy season.
