The diving department provided exceptional and attentive service, especially from Vanessa, who explained every service in detail, making us feel at ease. Every staff member responsible for each activity was very friendly and dedicated. During our dolphin-watching trip, Cesar went above and beyond to help us spot dolphins, and when we saw many, everyone was incredibly excited. Additionally, diving instructors Wei and Iris took great care of our itinerary, guiding us through the underwater world. During our stay at the hotel, we truly experienced the kindness and wholehearted care of all the staff, which made us feel a strong sense of homecoming.

Our stay at Le Méridien Maldives was nothing short of fantastic. We spent five nights here after exploring some local islands (which we highly recommend doing first!). Even before checking in, the Le Méridien team was super helpful—assisting us with logistics when we landed, even though we weren’t heading straight to the resort. That level of care continued throughout our stay. We didn’t book the half- or full-board options because we follow a vegetarian/vegan diet, and those set menus didn’t quite fit our needs. But after just one meal at Turquoise, all our worries disappeared. Chef Devon and the culinary team blew us away—every dish was flavorful, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. They happily customized meals for us (soups, stir-fries, dumplings, you name it), and the breakfast selection was also excellent. Honestly, we didn’t even bother trying other restaurants—Turquoise was that good! Special thanks to Puja, the Assistant Front Office Manager, who helped us choose Le Méridien even before booking. She made us feel confident we were making the right decision—and we absolutely did. The room, gym (with ocean views!), and overall vibe were all on point. The only minor note is that when it rains, some activities get canceled—it’d be nice to have a few indoor options like a cooking class or games. But that’s just a small suggestion. If you’re thinking of visiting and have dietary needs, don’t hesitate. This team gets it, and they’ll take great care of you. We left feeling relaxed, well-fed, and already planning our next trip back. 🌴💛

We had just returned from LM Maldives and was really stunned by the overall experience here. It was a beautiful resort where the blue seas are so beautiful to see from every angle.The overwater villa with pool that we stayed had direct access to the seawater and were able to spot a lot of marine life just by snorkelling underneath our villa. My kids were treated so tentatively by staffs at Turqoise restaurant especially all the friendly ladies. We also enjoyed sunset dolphin trip we booked at Dive Centre. Thanks also to Symon at Velaa pool who was so kind to us.

I am still staying at the hotel as I write this review, and while I want to emphasize that around 90% of the hotel staff are genuinely kind and helpful, unfortunately the same cannot be said for the management and reception team. Before booking, I noticed that the Marriott Bonvoy website was constantly showing fluctuating prices. I ended up booking a BB rate, expecting that the hotel might be able to help me upgrade to all-inclusive upon arrival. However, that was not the case. The attitude I encountered at reception was quite dismissive, almost as if saying, “You’re already stuck on the island, you have no choice.” Everything seems to revolve around squeezing as much money as possible from guests. Even when I offered to pay the price difference for the current all-inclusive rate I saw online, the response I received was, “Well, you should have booked that rate beforehand. This is the price now.” I found that very unaccommodating, especially from a hotel brand that operates year-round—not just seasonally for a few months. Prices on the island are incredibly high. For example, bike rentals are $80/day, a simple bowl of noodles is $45, and on top of that, there is a 10% service charge and 17% government tax. While I understand this is a luxury destination, there should still be a degree of flexibility and customer care—especially for loyal guests. Lastly, I kindly suggest reminding some of the reception staff that they are not the owners of the hotel. A bit more humility and a guest-oriented attitude would go a long way in improving the overall experience.

This is my first time visiting the Maldives, and I truly made the right decision by choosing to stay at the Sheraton. I felt happiness the moment I stepped off the speedboat and was warmly welcomed by the staff waiting to greet me. It was a feeling of warmth that is hard to describe. Throughout the 5 nights I stayed here, I felt like I was at home. Every staff member interacted with the guests, always asking if we were doing well whenever we crossed paths. It made my heart feel even fuller. I would like to give a special thank to Mr. Siraj, room attendant who took care of my room during my entire stay. He kept the room spotlessly clean, just like home, and always asked if I needed anything extra. He truly showed exceptional care for the guests. You should value and retain such an outstanding employee. If possible, I will definitely return. This has become one of my dreams come true — visiting the Maldives and staying at this hotel. We had accidentally left a passport behind in our room, and the hotel went above and beyond by arranging for it to be delivered to the airport the very next day. Starting from pick up and drop off from MLE airport, Mr.Shannon& Mr. Santo are friendly and well organized the way heading to Westin resort. Arriving in Westin resort, staffs gave us warm welcome. Special thanks to Mr. George, showing us whole resort and introduces all facilities. Speaking the same language makes no boundary. Moreover, I had sunburn at the last day even we already check out the resort. George still takes me to medical room and gives me aloe to ease the pain. Really appreciated. During the stay, Chef Min shows us great hospitality. Making tasty cuisine everyday Tandoori lamb, chili crab, cream seafood pie, satay…too many to mention. Mr.Anupum and Ms. Sally take good care of us in island kitchen every time we come. Mr.Ahlam accompany us on the last day, thanks to all of you enrich ours journey in Westin resort. In sum up, every staff in the resort is absolutely amazing, friending and willing to help. And the environment, the atmosphere make us feel so relaxed, get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and find the inner peace. This was our 3rd trip to the Maldives. Pickup at airport and seaplane was smooth and efficient. Zaney at the airport was great. Reaching the hotel, reception was great and check in was smooth with Ayaan. They matched kids eat free at other Marriot resorts which was great considering the prices of food in the Maldives and we did not have a package. The room was nice, villa facing the beach with a private pool. Kids jumped into the pool right away. Food options are limited. 3 restaurants. Kids menu is limited can only order from island kitchen with fast food options. Food is expensive. $50 for a burger! Hawker had Asian cuisine and food and service was great. We had pad thai and beef entree. There is no lagoon so kids were disappointed because they were expecting calm lagoon waters from previous trips. The house reef was amazing and a complementary snorkeling guided tour for an hour was a nice introduction. Lots of fish to explore. Seaplanes land very close to the villa and the reef. Me and my 7 year old son had a scary experience when we were snorkeling and saw a seaplane coming towards us, we swam to shore quickly. I’m sure no accidents have happened but too close for comfort. Also, seaplane arriving and taking off are loud and you hear them in the villa multiple times a day. We are platinum elite members and requested overwater villa for couple nights to experience but they said they were fully occupied. Final night our host Rohit introduced us to Chef Chaitan who offered to make us biryani. We said yes, but did not realize we would get slammed with a $150 bill for it. Biryani was good but would have said no if we knew the price. Will be the most expensive biryani for 2 we will ever have! Staff are really nice. Shout out to Usha, King and Hassan. On checkout, lady at checkout did not say a word. Handed the bill, I paid and told her thank you and she said “yep”. Cold! Arrangement back was nicely organized given the weather turned nasty. Made it back to Male in good time.

We picked JW Marriott for our honeymoon for five nights in mid August. Upon arrival to Malé airport after a redeye, we were greeted with hospitality and brought to a business lounge for breakfast as we waited for our seaplane. It was about a 50 minute seaplane ride with one stop before JW. We were greeted on our arrival with one of the best refreshing drinks I’ve ever had as well as a welcome crew. It honestly felt like White Lotus! Malla was our guide and made sure we had everything we needed for the entirety of our trip. He was super friendly and had an amazing eye for spotting sharks in the water! The food especially at Aaliaa was superb! I loved the butter chicken and nasi goreng. I discovered dosa with chutney at the breakfast buffet and now forever changed. The bartender at Horizon was also one of our favorite islander staff for being so kind. I really loved the yellow sun coral (on the mocktail menu but could make it a cocktail!). Finally, our overwater villa was exactly what we wanted, perfect spot to see both sunrises and sunsets, and as romantic as it can get. Our room service always did these sweet detailed things for us like placing a towel and our slippers by each side of our bed, organizing my sink space for me, or a turtle shaped towel on our bed. We really felt spoiled by all of the staff at JW Marriott. We couldn’t say enough about how JW Maldives made our honeymoon that much more special!

For once I was able to switch my brain off and just enjoy the holiday. The checkout and departure process was much the same - literally door-to-gate service. To anyone considering visiting the Maldives, the W is an absolute must. And more importantly, you have to try Sip - dubbed as an overwater bar, but it’s so much more. Chef Cristopher is an immensely talented individual - the Japanese/Peruvian fusion highlights his Peruvian roots. We dined there 2 nights in a row and went back every chance we got! A huge thanks to all the W Maldives staff for making our stay so memorable - a special shout out to Silver, Mani, Attiqur, Aquaman, Ahmed, and Anna — for making sure we saw sea turtles and a baby shark during our snorkelling adventures!

And of course, the house reef—the best in the area—is an absolute dream for snorkelers. This review is long overdue, but our stay at the W Maldives was truly special. From start to finish, the transportation process was smooth. We opted for the private boat transfer, which was nice—but be warned, the ride is quite long. If you're prone to motion sickness, definitely take medication beforehand. We had to go with the boat option since we missed the seaplane cut-off. Our overwater bungalow was beautiful, offering incredible views and a peaceful atmosphere. But the real highlight of our trip was the food—absolutely phenomenal, especially thanks to a talented chef from Sri Lanka. And the cocktails? Easily the best we’ve ever had. The mojito alone set the bar so high we may never enjoy one quite the same again. Fresh ingredients made all the difference. The staff were warm, attentive, and truly went above and beyond to make it a memorable honeymoon. The only downside was a private dinner we booked on the water. It was pitch black, which made it feel more scary than romantic. We ended up taking the rest of the food back to our room. In hindsight, we wish the hotel had advised us to book during sunset or let us know how dark it would be at that hour—but that’s also something we probably should’ve looked into beforehand. Overall, an amazing experience we’ll never forget.
