Being our first visit to Malta, we were very happy with our hotel choice. Barcelo Sliema was super in every aspect. Staff were friendly and helpful, choice of breakfast was excellent. Rooms were well equipped and very comfortable. The pool and spa offered all you could want. Hotel position was so convenient for transport to everywhere. Views of Valletta were great. We would highly recommend the hotel. Thank you for a very enjoyable visit.

I had a lovely stay here with my mother and sister for my mother’s birthday. The breakfast was amazing and the highlight of our stay. The team were all nice and friendly apart from when we went to visit the spa on our last day, the receptionist with tattoos and dark hair was extremely rude, we entered the spa, she did not greet us until she finished on her computer, spoken to her coworker in a rude manner in front of us then greeted us as if she did not want to be there. We were going to ask about booking a massage but her presence put us right off, we wanted to have a nice relaxing last day but we felt uncomfortable as soon as we walked in there.

Excellent hotel stay for my 30th Birthday! The team made it all super special from the moment we arrived, everyone is so attentive and welcoming especially Imran! A special birthday cake was left in my room and a card.
The location is excellent, with views right across to Valletta and many restaurants to choose from.
The rooms are spacious and perfect for a city break and the breakfast was delicious with a lot to choose from.
Overall we loved our stay and will definitely recommend and will be back!

I had a fantastic experience at the Barcelona Fortina in Malta, largely thanks to a staff member named Imran. I wanted to leave a review specifically to acknowledge how incredibly helpful he was with our luggage and his knowledge about Malta. He went out of his way to assist us, making what is usually a stressful part of travel completely seamless.
Throughout our interaction, Imran was consistently polite and maintained a warm, genuine smile that immediately put us at ease. He is a true asset to the hotel, a perfect example of excellent customer service. If you visit, I hope you get the chance to meet him. Thank you, Imran!

First time in Malta and the Hotel was in a lovely location, with amazing views of Valletta whether you were sitting on your balcony, sunbathing around the pool or having some lovely food at Mantra. You have bars and some amazing restaurants not even half a mile from the front doors, with a lovely marina/waterfront walk to the get to them. The point shopping mall is also just a minutes walk from the hotel. Very nice if you want to get out of the heat and have a shop.
For me the hotel was immaculate. Clean and modern hotel room where they have coffee and tea making facilities and complimentary bottles of water and a mini fridge. The night time turn down service was a nice touch! The hotel breakfast was the best I’ve had in a long time. The range of food, quality and taste was amazing!
The staff are lovely! They are hard working but always have time for you. Very polite, quite simply the best service I’ve had on holiday. They were lovely.

Stayed here in Feb this year. It is amazing but I have to commend the staff, they are what makes this place so special ❤️ they could not do enough for us. Bar staff absolutely the best. Front desk staff amazing, breakfast staff amazing. Fab place. Trails to walk at back of hotel, and beach at front.
TV could do with more channels though to suit other countries.
We had a kitchen, dining room , bedroom and bathroom. Robes also were a lovely touch. We used public transport and buses went from just across the road. We will definitely return here. Didn't go to spa, but the shop is well stocked. All round just fab. Also a must is Popeye village.

Bottom line: This is not a 5-star establishment, as there are too many items that fall short of expectations.
Good things:
- very nicely kept reception and communal areas
- very wide selection at breakfast in the restaurant
- Nice views from the sea view rooms
- The majority of the staff are very friendly, although some of them look flustered and overworked.
Inconsistent / so-so things:
- rooms and corridors are overdue refurbishment. Scuffs, previous paint repairs, stained carpets and so on. This is in contrast with the reception area as previously mentioned. Our balcony light was full of dead flies and the bulb was pretty much out. Little touches like this are important.
- the hotel is an absolute maze when you are first there, and it took us a very long time to find the spa / pool area for the first time.
- housekeeping is inconsistent. Some days we got the correct number of towels, some days we didn't. One day our bin wasn't emptied, nor were the cups or glasses replaced. But they made the bed up. Very strange.
- the spa / pool area especially the changing rooms are starting to become tired and neglected. Water pooling in the changing room floor, shower areas clearly not being cleaned regularly, and missing fixings on things like lockers, or missing hooks in shower cubicles etc. Not a five star experience. The pool area itself was generally quite clean however.
Bad things:
- we felt we were constantly having to find things ourselves / ask for things at breakfast that should already be present, or being picked up by the staff. I lost count of the number of times there was no spoon present on a place setting - this is absolutely basic for any catering establishment. Same goes for things like coffee machines being allowed to run out of beans. Not a massive deal, but indicates a chaotic and badly managed restaurant, and this was in low season.
- the spa / pool area seems to be deserted of any staff from afternoon onwards. In the male changing room, the hourly cleaning sheet had not been signed since 1pm, when I had used it at around 9pm. Sometimes the dirty towel trolley was stacked full, with no clean towels available. Why would we want to risk paying for any treatments if this is the level of service experienced in the first instance?
- the bedding and pillows feel like they haven't been updated in a very long time. Overly soft and sinking mattress and pillows that have no support.
Overall, I can't recommend this property to anyone, nor are we likely to return, as it simply doesn't deliver the experience expected from a hotel of this calibre.

We stayed for 7 nights and had a wonderful experience. We were served by the lovely Elvie, and we later discovered that we are actually related! She was very polite, accommodating, approachable, and always full of smiles for everyone. Even when she was busy, she never failed to greet guests with a warm smile. And I’m not saying this just because we’re related—her service was truly excellent.
Our bedroom had a beautiful sea view, which made our stay even more special. The hotel is perfectly located right in front of the sea, near the walking trail along the seafront—ideal for relaxing walks.
The restaurants served lovely food, especially at Aglolio Restaurant and Moka Bar, both with a perfect ambience. There is also a café/bar near the beach, and Apple Eye Restaurant is less than a 10-minute walk away, serving delicious food and drinks.
Special mention to Laarni and Mario at Moka Bar, and Alyssa at Aglolio for their great service and also Gerard. Highly recommended, and we would definitely love to come back!

There were a number of things during my stay that didn’t quite meet the standard I’d associate with a five-star hotel. The main building felt a bit worn in places, with scuffs and marks that took away from the overall impression.
Service was inconsistent. Some staff were excellent, but others seemed a little unsure, which led to a few moments that left me a bit miffed — for example, being shown to my stored luggage and picking it up myself, with help offered only afterwards. Not awful, just not what I’d expect at this level.
Food was mixed as well. My room service breakfast was incorrect; I’d ordered a breadbasket with croissants and snacks but received toast instead. The Indian restaurant was fine, though milder than expected. Again, not terrible, just not quite five-star.
The spa was clean and well maintained, though several facilities weren’t working during my visit. I also realised I hadn’t been told about all the hotel facilities at check-in, and noise travelled easily from neighbouring rooms if their balcony doors were open.
Individually, these things didn’t ruin my stay, but together they left the experience feeling below the standard advertised. I don’t think I’d return, though I did appreciate the elements that were done well.

Our weekend stays at this hotel are always unforgettable thanks to the incredible staff who truly make us feel at home. My husband, my baby girl Mimi, and I are always so happy and cared for every time we visit.
A special thank-you to Manager Anket for always ensuring our stay is perfect, and to the lovely receptionists Elvie and Pinky, who greet us with such warmth. Sandeep from breakfast at Flavours went above and beyond — helping brining us food to the table while I juggled our little one, and making sure we had everything we needed. Daniel from maintenance was so kind and quickly fixed our TV with ease.
And the amazing team at Mokka — Aminul, Sweetson and the wonderful girls — were incredibly accommodating and kept our daughter entertained; she absolutely adored them. Their burgers are also incredible — truly some of the tastiest we’ve had. Kudos to the chef!
And of course Mr Henri, the one and only — a true gentleman with a warm heart. Whether we meet him in the lobby or are welcomed by him at breakfast, it is always such a joy to see him and be greeted by him.
Every visit is an incredible experience filled with comfort, kindness, and genuine hospitality. The beautiful stay, the thoughtful service, and the wonderful people are the reason we keep coming back — for anniversaries, birthdays, or simply when we need a little escape. Truly a place full of heart.

Absolutely loved my stay at the InterContinental Malta as an IHG One Rewards member. The staff were consistently friendly, polite, and genuinely helpful.
Our original room was on the noisier side, and the team happily moved us to a quieter garden view room on a higher floor for a small additional fee. Breakfast was included and served daily in the Opal Lounge, which made mornings especially relaxing.
A special thank you to Sopo in the Opal Lounge, always professional and attentive, and she remembered my preferred table and cappuccino each morning . Special thanks also to Anamika in reservations for making everything run smoothly.
It’s the kind of service that makes returning feel like the natural choice.

I have been staying at this hotel for many years, even during the times under its previous brand, and I love returning for our weekend getaways.
The hotel still holds well after its most recent refurbishment in late 2019, so the rooms are well appointed and comfortable.
Great service from Ranjan at the M Lounge and the team in general.

We got a very nice room. The staff is super nice and friendly. The hotels have good amenities, but as we visited during winter we could not use the summer season ones so have that in mind when you plan your trip.
Everything is clean and the pool, spa and gym are in very good condition.
They have a concierge that than give you loads information on Malta and they also offer to organise some hours and day trips for you.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights to celebrate a birthday, and it was a wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived. We had arranged an airport pickup, which made getting to the hotel smooth and easy. Although we arrived around noon and had to wait about 30 minutes for our room to be ready, it was well worth it — the room was spacious, beautifully designed, and exceeded our expectations.
We also had access to the club lounge, which offered a great selection of food and drinks throughout the day. The location was perfect — right by a small beach and surrounded by plenty of great dining options. The team went above and beyond with the birthday decorations in the room, which made our stay even more special. I’ll definitely be returning in the future!

Beautiful hotel with lots of facilities.
We stayed for a whole week, we had breakfast included. The reason we chose this hotel was the roof top heated pool, in the first 3 days was so nice the temperature of the water,after that it went to cold, we reported with the staff , it was still cold after they're engineers checked. The spa area have a nice atmosphere, we had a couple massage just one time. If I have to do comparison with other places where we had massage I will give this place a 7 out 10. The room very spacious, nothing to complain there, the only thing what was annoying, not enough space for our clothes. We lived for a week from a suitcase ☺️.
The Saturday dinner brunch beautiful! Lots of choices for everyone taste buds.

One of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed at!
The service is absolutely top-notch — the staff are incredibly kind and professional. The breakfast was excellent, with a fantastic variety of dishes to choose from. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the spa is probably the best on the entire island of Malta! The rooftop pool offers a stunning view of the bay and is a real highlight.
The location, right in the heart of Balluta Bay, is perfect for exploring the beautiful island of Malta.
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary, and the staff even prepared a lovely surprise for my wife at my request — such a thoughtful gesture that made our stay even more special.

We had a lovely three-night stay at the Corinthia in Malta and couldn’t fault the experience. From start to finish, the service was truly unmatched — we were exceptionally well looked after by every member of staff we encountered.
The location is superb, with fantastic restaurant options nearby, and the overall scenery and atmosphere were beautiful and relaxing. Our room was comfortable and featured a balcony overlooking the pool at the back, which was absolutely gorgeous. The only reason we rated the room 4/5 is that the décor felt slightly dated, but aside from that, it was a very pleasant and comfortable space.
A special thank you to Kessidy at reception, who was incredibly accommodating, kind, and welcoming. He took the time to give us fantastic advice on the best times to visit Malta and was always happy to help — nothing ever felt rushed.
We’d also like to thank Maria, who served us breakfast each morning. She always remembered our order, was so kind and attentive, and genuinely took a personal interest in us, which made our mornings even more enjoyable.
Not a single staff member was difficult or rude during our stay. Every interaction was positive, and the team truly made our visit special — with Kessidy and Maria standing out in particular for the care they showed us.

We organised a weekend in occasion for my daughter’s birthday at Corinthia and we were surprise with what we found!
A room fully decorated, with welcome sweets for her in the room!
Apart from this, the service was fantastic, starting from check in, Emilia and Waqqas, who where so professional but also helpful and understanding especially since we needed to have access to the room before check in for further decorations.
A special thanks also goes to Brian the concierge, during his shift was always present, checking with us if we needed something and also guided us with lunch and dinner bookings!
In Malta is full of hotels, but rarely you feel home like at Corinthia San George in St. Julians, and this is thanks to all the staff.

Timebreaker QX
It’s worth starting by saying that this hotel not only doesn’t look like a five-star property, but the level of service also falls short of five-star standards. I’ll briefly explain why I think so, what I liked and didn’t like. For context: we are a married couple and stayed there in February. I’ll start with the downsides:
- The front desk staff spoke English poorly, not everything was clear due to their pronunciation and unclear speech. Besides English, we speak two other languages that were listed by the hotel as available for communication, but we were told “English only.” In addition, the front desk offered many extra paid services, and it felt like instead of checking in we were being shown an ad break like on YouTube: first the “mandatory” ads, and only then could we get to the point.
- Our room had clearly been renovated about 30 years ago; everything looked very dated and not what you’d expect from a five-star hotel. It wasn’t terrible, but there was still a noticeable gap between expectations and reality, and this wasn’t visible in the room photos at the time of booking.
- There was only one pair of slippers in the room. One evening there was no hot water, and there was very little sugar in the coffee/tea set. We received sugar only the next day after several calls to room service.
- The SPA in the hotel is run by a third-party operator, which creates additional inconvenience when visiting. But what really put us off using the SPA was the noise of a jackhammer breaking through the neighboring wall - it was so loud we had to shout to talk. Obviously, that level of noise and relaxation are incompatible, so we didn’t use the SPA at all during our four-day stay.
Now the positives, what we liked:
+ Convenient taxi drop-off right at the hotel entrance. It rained heavily twice, and this helped us avoid getting soaked.
+ Comfortable beds and clean linens. Excellent soundproofing. Sleeping was genuinely comfortable.
Overall, it felt like a three-star hotel, and it was clearly not worth the money we paid for the stay. If you’re choosing between this hotel and another one, I think almost any other hotel in Malta at this price point would be better.

Having breakfast at Corinthia St. George is one of the best experiences. They have excellent service, and I would like to thank Analisa and Chims. They are very accommodating and always have beautiful smiles. The food choices were really good, and I enjoyed them a lot. The chefs are also very nice. I’m looking forward to experiencing the Sunday lunch.

I had a really good experience at the hotel. The staff at the reception were very good at check in and other Miscellaneous services. Rachael arrange the birthday cake, my following up relentlessly and ensuring that the details were were right and the cake will be delivered on the right day. Ashutosh was an absolute star as he ensured that my wife’s birthday celebrations and the cake were handed to me promptly. He was courteous And efficient in dealing with me during check out. Oumaima was very efficient too in arranging room service food for me from the reception. Thanks for making our stay a great one! Kudos to all the staff. Manjil was quite good too in providing a very good cappuccino.

It was all a great experience and stay. Not really a 5* more a really really sound 3+++ as it is frayed around the edges in places. Would be really easy to spruce those bits up with effort, but we liked it, characterful and a home from home. Recommended highly.

So I booked the hotel thinking it was a pretty good price for a 5* hotel.
But the thing is - this not a 5* hotel. It is more like a 3* hotel.
Very old, very outdated - nothing in this hotel is at the 4 or 5* level.
Rooms are spacious, location is good, and that’s about it.
They take money from your credit card / 50€ per night - as a deposit, and it’s beek 3 weeks since my trip, they still haven’t released the money back to my card.
I booked a breakfast as well, it was diverse, but food quality very mediocre.
On our last day we were living early for the airport, and asked for Breakfast boxes, which they said we have to pay for - but they said there will be a smaller breakfast spread from 4am in the lobby. What was placed on the spread was low key embarrassing.
Tea and coffee and some small pastries. I asked for some fruit - they said NO. I asked for a paper bag to grab few pastries for a takeaway, they said NO.
It was a very very disappointing experience for a hotel that sells itself as a premium 5* hotel.
You can find much much better in Malta for that price.

Grand Hotel Excelsior delivers exactly the kind of stay where small imperfections fade behind a genuinely comfortable experience. Yes, the hotel shows its age in a few corners, but it’s the kind of “older grand hotel” charm rather than neglect. Everything was consistently clean, well maintained, and welcoming, which set a positive tone from the start.
The room was a standout. It was impressively spacious and the bed was genuinely comfortable, making it easy to unwind after long days out. That sense of space and comfort really elevated the stay.
The spa area added another layer of relaxation. The gym, much like the rest of the hotel, is on the older side. Some equipment wasn’t functional, but the overall size of the space made up for it. There was enough room and variety to still get a decent workout in, so it didn’t feel like a drawback worth deducting a star for.
Overall, Grand Hotel Excelsior Malta offers a warm, comfortable, and satisfying stay—especially if you value spacious rooms, cleanliness, and a touch of classic hotel character.

We stayed one week at the hotel Excelsior at the end of November, and I have no words to express my gratitude to everyone who made our stay such a wonderful experience! From the reception team, the young, tall doorman who always paid special attention to our 3-year old boy, the cleaning staff, to the restaurant crew — everyone was welcoming, helpful, and genuinely polite.
Our suite was so spacious and comfortable that we sometimes preferred staying in and relaxing over going out. And the food at the hotel restaurant was so good that, even though we usually enjoy eating out, we often chose to dine in.
Overall, we warmly recommend this hotel.

This is where you go to switch off. Place is left untouched like going back in time, which in my opinion is part of the experience. Quiet, great spa and indoor to outdoor pool, gym needs an update but still enough to get a good workout. Love how they care for the cats, ‘igloos’ are really great for peace. We stayed at Hotel Ta’ Cenc in Gozo for four days over the New Year celebrations. While the hotel is marketed as a 5-star property, our experience unfortunately did not meet that standard.
I had to chase the hotel by email after my card was charged twice for the room and was eventually told the duplicate charge was an administrative error. When the refund was processed, the hotel deducted charges such as taxi transfers and the New Year’s Eve meal without informing me beforehand. Money was taken from my card without my consent, and this was only explained after the deductions had already been made. At no time was I provided with an itemised bill for the charges applied to my card.
The manager was not apologetic about the situation, which was very disappointing and unprofessional.
On arrival, the room itself was dated, particularly the bathroom, and did not reflect what one would expect from a 5-star hotel.
On a positive note, the common areas of the hotel are pleasant, and the spa and hotel grounds are very nice. The New Year’s Eve dinner was excellent, with a live band, and special mention should be made of the very good vegan meal provided.
Overall, despite some positives, the service issues, billing problems, and dated rooms mean that this hotel does not live up to a 5-star rating.

I stayed one night here which isn't really enough to take in everything they have to offer on the property, the room was very peaceful and quiet, probably one of the most quiet stays during my three week trip to Malta and Gozo which I really appreciated. The room was well equipped and clean, and layed out nicely... not too cramped. The gardens at this hotel are very nice (visiting in October), wonderful variety of plants, walking the grounds itself is a treat. The views of the channel from the terrace restaurant and heated pool area are also very nice.
I think overall this is a nice hotel with friendly staff. I didn't make it to the Spa, but overall very restorative vibe.

Our stay at Hotel Ta’ Cenc was mixed. The room itself had issues – we found ants inside, the balcony was dirty with an old cigarette, and the air conditioning could only cool to 22°C, resetting automatically. Once, we even had no hot water for about two hours. Housekeeping did a good job though: the bed was clean and well prepared, and we received fresh water, coffee, tea, and toiletries every day.
Service by the pool was disappointing. Even when I waved, nobody came over to take an order. In contrast, the spa staff were excellent – especially the bald man in the white polo. He was by far the most helpful person in the whole hotel, even bringing me silicone gloves for my injured hand so I could use the pool. He always checked if we needed towels or anything else, which really stood out. The spa area itself was beautiful, usually quiet, and the sauna, steam room, and jacuzzi were the highlights. Massages, however, are far too expensive.
Food was very good – dinner was tasty with a fair price for a 3-course menu, and breakfast was excellent, even with sparkling wine included.
Overall: great spa and food, but service and room conditions need serious improvement.

The staff at Hotel Ta’ Cenc & Spa on Gozo island shined brightly during hurricane force winds and rain which closed the Malta to Gozo ferry. We decided to forfeit our non-refundable 4 day holiday for fear of further turbulence and closures with a plane to catch in 4 days. The staff replied quickly and said they understood and promptly refunded the full amount of our non-refundable fee without any prompting. I can only imagine how well they would have taken care of us had we made it to Gozo. These people are the real deal.

We checked out today after staying in room 217 and I felt compelled to leave this review because our experience at Hilton Malta was exceptional.
From the moment we arrived, every member of staff — from the porters to reception — was welcoming, professional, and genuinely friendly. Our luggage was taken to the room promptly, and the room itself was ready on arrival, which we were very grateful for. We also had a lovely view overlooking the marina.
Housekeeping maintained the room to a very high standard throughout our stay, with fresh towels provided daily. Any time we contacted reception — for example to request additional hangers — the service was incredibly efficient, with items delivered to our room within minutes, exactly as promised. The same applied to valet service: whenever we called ahead for the car, it was waiting for us by the time we reached reception.
Breakfast was absolutely outstanding, with an excellent variety of high-quality food, including international options and traditional Maltese dishes. All staff throughout the hotel were consistently polite, attentive, and professional.
We were also very impressed by the thoughtful personal touches. Chocolates were left in the room for the children on arrival, and on New Year’s Eve we returned to a lovely surprise of a small bottle of Prosecco and chocolates — a gesture that felt genuinely thoughtful and is something not many hotels do.
We stay in five-star hotels regularly and travel frequently, and I can honestly say there was nothing at all to fault during our stay. We were extremely impressed and will definitely be returning.

Wow, truly a lovely hotel. Before stepping into the hotel a beautiful scent. Welcoming staff smooth check in in a super lobby to look at whislt staff taking the time to explain all the facilities and how to get to the room. Arrived at the room opened the door to a well appointed suite. With stunning views. Super night sleep with pillows like clouds. Breakfast choice was excellent! I can honestly say if I was heading up the team of people here I would be super proud. All were friendly made conversation and nothing was to much. Kudos to all the staff at Hilton Malta. You can have an amazing hotel, room etc however the excperience can only be made by those in the business, keep doing what you are doing. I would return in a heartbeat! Thank you all

Probably the best choice in the area.
The Hilton Malta is easily one of the best options around. The Westin is likely good too, but it’s slightly farther away. Marriott Resort & Spa probably has the best location overall, right by the sea, but they don’t have terraces directly over the water—though there are plenty of beaches right in front of it.
If you’re staying in the off-season, Hilton is definitely the better choice. One of its biggest strengths is the location: it’s surrounded by upscale, posh buildings, so it feels safe and calm, far away from cheap dance music and noisy bars.
The lounge bar is another highlight. It’s relaxed enough to just stroll into, yet stylish. The standing balcony has super-comfortable chairs and sofas, making it a perfect spot to hang out.
Prices are very reasonable, and the lounge can be covered, which is ideal for Malta’s changeable winter weather. Today alone it rained four times, and having this space made a huge difference—it’s incredibly convenient and cozy. If it gets chilly, you can even go upstairs and grab a jumper.
The swimming pool area is great too. When it’s warm, it feels almost like being at the beach, though in winter you probably won’t feel like swimming outdoors. I imagine it gets very busy in summer—the outdoor pool is huge. The indoor pool is beautiful, very clean, and the 20-meter length is perfect for proper swimming.
Overall, a fantastic stay and a standout choice in the area, especially outside peak season.

stayed at this hotel in Sliema and had a very pleasant experience overall. The room service food was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay. Breakfast was good and offered enough variety to start the day well.
I stayed in a deluxe room, which was very comfortable and spacious, with a lovely balcony that I really enjoyed. The location is another big advantage — it’s very convenient and offers easy access to nearby areas.
The only downside was that I visited during the New Year holiday, and the indoor swimming pool was quite small and often busy.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable and pleasant place to stay in Sliema.

Superior room with balcony. Amazing hotel and located 10 minutes walk from the sea in almost every direction. Lots to local shops, bars, restaurants nearby. Once by the seafront, you can hop onto the ferry to take you to Valletta, much faster and more scenic than the bus/taxi. Back to the hotel itself, the service from all the staff was amazing every day. Housekeeping went above and beyond cleaning the room, so much so all my toiletries were neatly lined up in the bathroom every morning. Phone charge cables etc all rolled up and put neatly on bedside cabinet. We stayed bed and breakfast. Great variety of hot and cold food, fresh fruit and juices. We asked to be located in the quiet part of the restaurant and without hesitation the table was set up. Every single of member of staff went above and beyond. Will definitely stay again.

We stayed at this hotel as a family (two adults and a small child) for one week and had a wonderful experience from start to finish. The booking process was easy, with flexible cancellation and the option for online check-in, which saved time at arrival. We were also informed in advance about the possibility of a last-minute room upgrade.
At check-in, we upgraded from a Superior Room to the Music Suite for a small additional fee, and it was absolutely worth it. The suite is spacious, bright, and truly unique, featuring two comfortable king-size beds, a large bathroom, drums and a high-quality music sound system, and a large terrace with a jacuzzi and stunning views of the city and Valletta. As a welcome, we received a bottle of champagne and a fruit platter. Housekeeping was excellent, with cleaning twice a day and daily water refills.
The staff were exceptionally friendly and attentive. Despite arriving before official check-in time, we were offered breakfast on the first day, luggage storage, early room preparation, and access to the pool while waiting.
Breakfast offered a good variety, although it was mostly the same each day. The hotel has several restaurants and a café for lunch and dinner.
There are two pools: a rooftop pool with sea views (not heated during our stay) and an indoor pool with a sauna and steam room, which is smaller than it appears in photos and has a capacity of 18 people. The indoor pool is also shared with guests from AX The Victoria, which could lead to more crowding during the high season, although this was not an issue during our stay.
The location is excellent—on a quiet street, yet within walking distance of public transport, supermarkets, seaside promenades, shopping centers, and stores.
Overall, the hotel met all our expectations. It is comfortable, family-friendly, and ideal for longer stays. We would gladly return and highly recommend it.

My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay here. The rooms were very clean, and the breakfast offered a wide variety of options. As we visited during winter, we really enjoyed using the indoor pool and jacuzzi, and the sauna was absolutely fantastic.
The service was impeccable, truly 10/10 and we especially appreciated the complimentary mulled wine available throughout our stay. Another thoughtful touch was the provision of drinking tap water, which meant we didn’t need to buy bottled water at all.
We were extremely pleased with our experience and would definitely recommend staying here.

We had a wonderful stay, everything was beautiful, super clean, and the facilities were excellent, especially the indoor pool which the kids loved. The breakfast was excellent with lots of choice, and the service was outstanding. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. As we stayed over Christmas, the extra touches really made it special: a stocking with goodies for the kids and mince pies waiting in our room. It was a truly special Christmas break for our family.

The only thing it’s missing is soundproofing. It’s a bummer hearing your neighbors. But it’s not something that can be easily fixed so

I had an excellent stay at The Westin Dragonara Resort in Malta. The hotel is beautifully located right by the sea in St. Julian’s, offering breathtaking views and direct access to the water. The atmosphere is peaceful yet vibrant, making it perfect for both relaxation and enjoyment.

Beautiful place and the most welcoming staff I have ever experienced. The hotel itself is very beautiful and has an amazing view. It truly felt like home, even more than that. Zaid was amazing. He checked me in and took care of us throughout our whole stay, together with Kapil. At checkout, Aarti was also very kind and helpful. We celebrated my mother’s birthday, and we were welcomed with birthday amenities and warm wishes, which made it very special.
At breakfast, Suru took such good care of us with the biggest smile and genuine warmth each day. The whole breakfast team, Parmod, Rhaden, Saroj, Sean Paul, Sushma, and Santosh, were amazing every single day. They always welcomed us with genuine smiles and warmth.
I also want to mention the excellent service from the managers on duty, Ashish Lama and Ahmed Aboushall. They made sure to check on every guest and took care of all feedback and needs. I was impressed with the way they take care of their guests.
Housekeeping was also 10/10, truly five star service.
Thank you dearly to everyone! Because of the team’s attention to detail and genuine hospitality, I will definitely visit again.

Last week, I visited The Phoenicia Malta after receiving a Valentine’s gift ticket for a candlelight concert held at the hotel. While waiting for the performance to begin, we spent some time in the lounge — and it immediately left a strong impression on me.
Before entering the concert hall, we enjoyed drinks at the bar, where a professional bartender was serving guests. After the performance, instead of returning directly to our hotel in St. Julian’s, we decided to stay a bit longer and enjoy the lobby atmosphere. That turned out to be an excellent decision.
The lobby gives an immediate feeling of luxury. It is spacious, elegant, and beautifully designed. I particularly loved the high ceilings, the architectural details, and the refined overall ambiance. There was live music during our visit — piano and violin — which elevated the atmosphere even further and created a truly sophisticated setting.
We ordered coffee and espresso, and the service was impeccable. The waiters were professional, attentive, and polished in their manner. Guests can also choose from a selection of cakes, tarts, and macarons, which can be enjoyed comfortably on one of the many sofas arranged throughout the lounge area.
The space is decorated with beautiful paintings and elegant furnishings, and simply sitting there already feels like stepping into a world of classic luxury. It is not just a hotel lobby; it is an experience in itself.
Overall, even though I was not staying at The Phoenicia Malta, the time spent in its lounge was memorable. It is a wonderful place to relax, enjoy live music, and experience refined hospitality in Malta.

I woke up with faulty fire alarm 1st day which destroyed my sleep. I mentioned it to the reception, they said it wont happen again. 2nd day i was talking to the phone in my room, again the siren started, i got anxious thinking that i need to evacuate the hotel, but again it was a mistake. And all this experience although i was paying for one of the expensive rooms. They do not bring new water bottles, if the bottle from the 1st day finishes then you have to get water from the minibar or bring from outside. The phone is difficult to use, you have first to press the green button and then immediately the number. The hotel restaurant meals have very small quantities so you remain hungry, i ordered food from Bolt the 2nd day. If you ask them to bring food to the room, they charge you 5 euros on top of everything you have ordered. On the positives, the location is convenient, they have a polite communication style and the hotel manager in the end offered one night for free plus late check out to apologize for the inconvenience.
