You won't regret it. This place is amazing. I stayed for 14 days. Best vacation I ever had. And I will be coming back 100%. Love it here. Love the food. Love the rooms. Love everything. And I wanted to thank the chefs for the delicious food. The only negative thing is, in the buffet they use to have the snack bar available 24 hours and the food was available near the buffet area. Now you have to wait 30-45 minutes to have your food delivered to you. So thats a big no no. People liked it at their disposal. Even i don't like the change. So that is a 1 star for the buffet area.

This was my first all-inclusive and I am glad that I selected this place. Room service for cleaning and food included. My friends and I took the adults-only resort, although there is a sister resort that is family-friendly a few steps away, which I would assume is a perfect in-between for larger groups with different lifestyles. We stayed for four days. Amazing rooms. The star I left out is because I anticipated spending a lot of time at the beach (it is steps away from the resort) but there was too much algae to enjoy the water and the beach, so we spent all of our time at the pool, which is fine too. Just adjust your expectations in this regard. Some people swam on the family-friendly side, but we did not. The beach is fine to see the sunrise however. Nice entertainment and variety of foods. Not a lot of opportunities to eat local dishes unless you take a tour outside of the resort. I highly recommend the tour that brings you to a Mayan village, the Chichén Itza (one of the 7 World Wonders), swimming in a cenote, and a colonial-style colourful city. It was the highlight of my experience.
The team members were very kind and friendly. We used the spa and had massages, it was a lovely experience all in all. I highly recommend!

I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to share some concerns regarding our current stay at the Platinum Hotel.
Firstly, we’ve noticed that the cleanliness of the hotel does not meet the expectations of a 5-star establishment. There is a significant amount of garbage and leftover food scattered in the hallways. While we understand that the hotel is surrounded by wild life, better management and maintenance would go a long way in improving the guest experience.
More importantly, we were informed at check-in that no reservations were required for the à la carte restaurants. However, on our very first evening, we were told there was no availability due to full waiting lists. Out of the four restaurants, only two were open — and both were at capacity. This left us with no option but the buffet, where we had to wait over 30 minutes just to be seated.
Given that this hotel is marketed as a 5-star resort — a rating that was also confirmed by Air Canada at the time of booking — this situation is unacceptable. While we recognize that there may be staffing challenges, continuing to accept new bookings under these conditions is highly disappointing and misleading to guests.
We hope to see improvements during the remainder of our stay and look forward to your response.

We had a fantastic stay at the Adults Only/Platinum side of the Yucatan Princess Resort! The food exceeded our expectations with delicious variety at every meal. The staff were truly the highlight—warm, attentive, and made us feel so welcome.
We wanted to give a special thank you to Israel, Adolfo, Alberto, Benedicto, Julieta (excursion rep) and Luis (Coco Bongo), for making our experience especially memorable.
We also loved how calm the Platinum side of the resort was. I highly recommend upgrading to platinum if you want a relaxing, mellow atmosphere. The normal side was more of a party-vibe.

Horrible experience with some of the staff here. This resort is more like a 3 star or less which is why the rooms are heavily discounted. I had no hot water in the shower. My friend’s initial room was disgusting and seemed to have water damage. Also, don’t bother thinking the Platinum rooms are anything special. They never told us what was included or gave half/conflicting information when asked. My room was missing most of the perks advertised. The 24 hour room service seems to dissuade you from even using it. Most of the restaurants were not available besides the buffet and horrible steakhouse!! Also, I was sexually harassed my first day by a staff member which left me feeling uneasy. There is zero professionalism with 90% of the staff here.
The smell throughout the resort was similar to raw sewage and the beach unusable.
Lastly, there was not one good meal besides breakfast. Nothing served was authentic, not even guacamole which is insane. Worse food I ever had on a resort. I found the concierge and managers to be scamming liars. Those rodents running around 24/7 also put a dent in the trip. Stay elsewhere or better yet just stay in Cancun or another part of the country.

We had a wonderful stay at this resort. It's truly family-friendly and made our trip very enjoyable. The atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff were helpful throughout. There are some lovely restaurants on-site with great ambience and service. However, we felt there could be more vegetarian options on the menus to cater to a wider range of dietary needs. Apart from that, everything else was excellent. We loved our time here and would definitely stay again!

Longer version on TripAdvisor. Really short version, service is best I ever had in Mexico. Food is good, not great. Beach and ocean experience are not good and pools are lovely but shallow. 3.8ft and 3ft in swim out. Really clean, basically bug free. Great spa experience. Had a lovely time.

We had a lovely stay at this resort for our honeymoon - The hotel was beautiful, the room was spotless and the overall atmosphere was really relaxing and luxurious. They had loads of entertainment to keep guests occupied throughout the whole day and the evening shows were very exciting! The only thing I would say was that the service for food and drinks around the pool area was noticeably slow sometimes, which was a bit disappointing especially as preferred members who had paid extra for an elevated experience. That aside, everything else was great and the staff really looked after us. Would highly recommend!

My family and I loved our stay. The service was beyond any expectations that we had. We're in the shuttle to the airport as I type this and my wife is already looking into booking again. I would high suggest that you pay the extra and get the preferred member. Just a few perks of the preferred is a private bar with hot and cold food out all day. A members only pool. Do yourself a favor and book a vacation.

We just returned from our trip to Dreams Aventuras. It was a great vacation!! Miriam, the Preferred Club concierge, was amazing! She was super helpful, knowledgeable and very kind. It was our granddaughter’s first birthday while we were there and Miriam arranged to have a small cake delivered to the room and another beautiful cake brought to our table at dinner. The waiters at Portofino sang to her and made the whole night really special. We very much appreciated the attention to detail to make sure our experience was great. The resort is very clean and everyone working there is friendly and fun. We felt very well taken care of the entire time.

From start to finish, this was such an amazing experience! Yoe, our host, had such great energy and set the tone for the entire trip. The service was absolutely outstanding Abraham, Sergio, and Fernando were incredibly attentive, careful with every detail, and made sure we were well taken care of. Michele, the manager, went above and beyond to be helpful and ensure everything was perfect. The whole team worked together seamlessly, and it really made our first girls trip unforgettable. Highly recommend! Amazing food, safe area and relaxing.

The manager, Michele, was very nice and welcoming. He consistently checked in to see how everything was going and to make sure we were okay, which really enhanced our experience. Our server, Sergio, was amazing he was patient, helpful when needed, and always attentive. We never had any issues with his service. His enthusiasm truly made our days and added to the overall enjoyment of our visit.
Yoe was absolutely incredible kind, funny, and full of energy. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, she made sure we always felt welcome. Not once did we experience a dull moment or feel anything less than appreciated. Thank you, Yoe, for making our experience unforgettable!

I was here for My wedding on July 12. Myself and entire wedding party stayed here so we booked out 42 of the rooms they had. Just say the least we took over the hotel. I arrived on the Thursday with my wedding bridesmaid and grooming, and the check-in was very smooth. They knew our group was coming so the entire staff was wonderful from start to finish. They accommodated Us to the max capacity. Myself and husband was upgraded to the presidential suite, which was so nice of them to upgrade us to. A lot of my family got upgraded rooms as well. They booked out private dinners for us since we had a large group with us. We booked out a welcome party on the beach and had a blast. We played same volleyball. We were in the pool. They got us our own personal bartender and food cookout so all the wedding guests wouldn’t have to go into the normal restaurants. It would just be a faster access to food and drinks! I have visited this hotel Four times now And with this trip being my wedding trip, they did an incredible job. I worked with Ivan Who got my number and WhatsApp and we communicated the entire time. With all my wants and needs. All my guests said they loved their rooms and the food and the drinks and just thought the whole hotel was beautiful. A lot of of them went to the town and they said they love that as well! Everyone who worked my wedding was so accommodating and the set up was beautiful. We had an incredible time and I highly recommend anyone wanting. Intimate destination, wedding to come here. Everything was top-notch and I really appreciate all the help the staff gave us. I’m really happy that we were able to provide some entertainment as well. We had a young vibrant, College reunion basically and everyone told me how happy they were to be at the venue at the same time as us because we brought a lot of energy and good vibes. I’m looking forward to one day coming back for my anniversary. Please do yourself a favor and book this hotel for yourself, you will love it!

The hostess with the mostest, Yoe is such a wonderful person. Very kind, and enthusiastic and she really made our experience very welcoming. She recommended some meals and even places to go. She really is the best!
For dinner, we were kindly served by Abraham basically the entire trip. He was very patient and attentive. Thank you as well!
Sergio, Fernando, Hair and Michele were awesome as well. Always checked on us and made sure we had the best time here.

I came here with my family and enjoyed our stay! It was fun to explore the property and we felt safe and well taken care of. It was fun to choose a different restaurant for dinner each night. We appreciated that there were different pools to pick from an hours was even in the shade in the afternoon, which was very lovely for our toddler. It was nice that this all inclusive stay also hosted a dietitian nutritionist as part of the entertainment team for some activities for our families and others. Our favorite was the spin it to win it trivia game while we were waiting in line for breakfast.

The staff here were some of the kindest I’ve encountered — always welcoming and helpful. The entertainment crew really made our trip — they kept the energy up all day with games, activities, and evening events that were actually worth going to!
Our room was great, the bed was super comfy, and the pool areas were beautiful and relaxing. We never ran out of things to do but also felt like we could unwind whenever we wanted.
Such a fun and relaxing vacation — would absolutely come back!

Our vacation was truly delightful, though the check-in process at the front desk started off a bit bumpy. Thankfully, Cindy quickly stepped in after we were settled into our room. She greeted us with a warm smile and graciously arranged all the spa and cabana services for our entire week’s stay.
From that moment on, Cindy made it her mission to ensure we were enjoying ourselves, checking in with us daily and providing a level of attentive, worry-free service that gave us complete peace of mind. Knowing it was our 9th wedding anniversary, she went above and beyond to make it special, surprising us with wine and cake for a magical evening we’ll always remember.
Even on our last day, Cindy was there to assist with our luggage and make the check-out process effortless. This was one of the most stress-free trips we’ve ever had, allowing us to truly relax and recharge. Though the magical time has ended, we will deeply miss Cindy’s kindness and radiant smile.

We got the VIP room which was amazing two full bathrooms three times a size of other rooms and massive balcony and two Jacuzzi inside and out. Problem was the food quality, speed, as well as quality of drink selection, whether adult or kids were really substandard. On our last night we even left the resort just to get some decent food at a restaurant.
The one gem is there are many tremendous staff members, Salvador at the VIP lounge and Sandy, our Concierge/Butler. The two of them really made our stay and that’s why instead of giving it low star rating I gave it what I gave it. The staff, they are friendliness and kindness carry this place despite its management.
Cleanliness of the resort is probably the best I’ve ever seen. The staff and work work so hard and you see them sweating and toiling.

The activities and evening entertainment were one of the highlights. Every night featured different shows, live music, themed events, and an incredible atmosphere. We had so much fun and there wasn’t a single dull moment!
The pools were spotless, very well maintained, and offered both relaxing and family-friendly spaces. There are several to choose from depending on the experience you’re looking for peaceful or lively.
As for the food, simply amazing. Each restaurant had its own style and the quality of the dishes exceeded our expectations. From international options to local specialties, everything was delicious. The buffet had a wide variety, and the à la carte restaurants were an absolute treat.
I also want to highlight the little details that make a big difference: clean rooms, well-organized activities, the positive energy of the entertainment team, and the sense of safety throughout the property.
We will definitely come back. This is not just a place to relax it’s a place to create unforgettable memories. Thank you to the entire team for making us feel so well taken care of!

The Fives was a beautiful place to stay. We went for 2 weeks and had the most relaxing time. The food was amazing and the staff and service was some of the best we have ever come across. Hector and Noe in the pool bar were the best barmen ever. They looked after us every day. Even if we felt a bit under the weather, they gave us something to feel better. Absolutely incredible guys and always service with a smile!
Rooms were super and always well kept and cleaned every day. Entertainment each day was amazing and the guys on the entertainment team will keep everyone having fun throughout the whole day. A great place with even better people.

This is a beautiful property with wonderful service. Clair and Omar were always available and made our stay even better! My granddaughter has so much fun getting to see the various animals wandering around. And, all the pools are immaculate and easily accessible. The Spa is beautiful and top notch The food is very good, with some better than other. But, I expect that at an all exclusive. My only complaint is the open bathroom situation. There are blurred doors on the toilet and shower but as soon as you get out it’s open to the room. But, I will still be very happy to come back here again and again!

got back from an amazing stay at this resort and I honestly couldn’t be happier. The property is beautiful — clean, modern, and super well maintained. Every corner of it feels thought out, and the pools are all crystal clear and easy to get to no matter where you are on the property.
Carlos was my server and he was incredible — super attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was smooth every time I sat down to eat. Honestly one of the best parts of the trip.
The food overall was solid. Some dishes were better than others, but that’s expected at an all-inclusive. There was always something good to eat, and the variety kept things from getting boring.
The spa? Unreal. It’s clean, peaceful, and actually feels like a luxury experience, not just something thrown in for the sake of it. If you go, book something there — totally worth it.

The room was nice! No complaints. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The food was plentiful but average at best. Our biggest issue was the 1-2 ft. wall of seaweed along the entire shore. The smell was bad the entire time. Although it's not the resorts fault it would've been nice to have known ahead of time because we were told it's normal this time of year. We did book an excursion that took us to a beautiful beach with no seaweed in sight so that was a great day! We will hopefully get to go back someday but will definitely go at the right time of the year so we can enjoy the beach.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Housekeeping was done promptly and staff was very courteous. Rooms are spacious and layout was good. If you don't go for an early dinner, then getting a table at the restaurants is challenging and the wait is long. There is no system of making a reservation except for the Hibachi grill. The world cafe had a good spread of cuisines but the restaurant itself needs some love, upgrades and is Non-AC! The pool is great - my family enjoyed it and the bars around the resort are good too. The smoothie cafe was our everyday stop. Good entertainment for kids of all ages.
A huge drawback - since this was the seaweed season, we could not access the beach at all! Also, the nasty smell gets to you. Do not visit Cancun during this time of year or at least stay in an area which is not affected by this condition. This information was not provided anywhere on the hotels website which was quite a disappointment and a shock upon arrival. Personally, my favorite part of the stay was the Spa! Excellent treatments and nice ambience.

My overall stay was acceptable, but I expected a higher standard of service from this establishment. Upon arrival, the staff was extremely attentive and welcoming, which set high expectations. Unfortunately, the quality of service declined as our stay progressed.
One evening, my friend and I ordered room service. The wait time was unusually long nearly two hours for very small portions of food that were mediocre at best and did not match the way they were advertised. The staff member who delivered the meal provided excellent service and kindly reminded us to leave the tray outside our door for pickup once we were finished, which we did. When we returned to our room later that day, the tray was still outside. Understanding that mistakes can happen, we called room service to remind them it was ready for collection. The employee assured us someone would come immediately. However, five hours and three follow-up calls later, the tray still had not been removed. By this point, it had attracted insects and even wild animals scavenging the leftovers. This situation not only reflected poorly on the resort’s attention to cleanliness and guest experience, but it also forced us to remain in our room and disrupted our ability to enjoy our final night of vacation. For a property under the Dreams Resorts brand, this level of service was extremely disappointing and far below expectations.

The concierge team, led by Ricardo Lizama, did an exceptional job. With so much care and attention, they organized everything beautifully, and later surprised us in our room with chocolate-covered strawberries and a heartfelt card that deeply touched us.
Beyond this special moment, every staff member was kind, attentive, and always willing to make us feel at home. We leave with our hearts full of gratitude and unforgettable memories.

Our family of four had an incredible time! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed—our first interaction was with Jorge the bellhop, who was both friendly and informative. Throughout our stay, we returned to him several times for recommendations on places to visit, and every suggestion he gave was spot-on—we were never disappointed.
Each morning, we were served at the breakfast buffet by Archi, Pedro, and Sergio Huerta, and it was truly the best way to start our day. Their service was attentive and always friendly. We miss them already!

My family vacation was absolutely amazing! I could not believe how friendly the entire staff was. From all staff at the Cafe', pool staff, etc. (especially Victor who took great care of us for two days when we had a cabana) Make sure you ask for him! I loved how kid friendly it was, which is why we went.
Our maid for our room did a great job with having two little children and got a little messy, we always came back to a nice clean room. Beds made, fresh towels, anything we needed was just a phone call away too.
They had events each night, which was a perfect way to unwind for the night with the kids. (Fire shows, circus, and magic show we attended). Even have a kids play area where you drop of the kids so Mom and Dad can explore, grab a bite to eat, etc. They give you a buzzer like they do at restaurants and when your kids are done playing they buzz you to get them. Arcade area is nice to for the kids to play.
The gym was pretty good, it is what it is when traveling, but you still can get in a great workout with limited equipment. Plenty of cardio equipment. I recommended going early as you can since it does get busy first thing in the morning.
Breakfast at the Cafe' was spectacular. Omelets are very good and the cook was great! Plus other great options for breakfast food.
We will definitely be back or go to one of their other resorts!

The rooms were decent, but I highly recommend getting an ocean view room. It’s worth the extra cost.
The food was okay, not bad, but definitely could be improved. The atmosphere was great, but the entertainment options could be better. Having a live DJ at the pool or playing music would be a welcome addition.
On a positive note, they made sure we didn’t miss home during the 4th of July experience. That was a nice touch!
Overall, we had an amazing time and will definitely be returning!

I have spent the last five days at Dreams Riviera Cancun, and today is my last day at the Resort. My experience at this incredible resort has been nothing short of extraordinary, and I can truly say I have nothing but praise for every aspect of my stay.
From the moment I arrived, the reception was flawless—truly a 10 out of 10. The warmth and professionalism of the staff, from check-in to every corner of the hotel, was exceptional. The room I was assigned was pure luxury—spacious, impeccably clean, and complete with a private jacuzzi both inside and on the balcony. The stunning sea views allowed me to witness breathtaking sunrises, making each morning feel magical.
Room service was consistently perfect—prompt, courteous, and attentive. As for the dining experience, it was simply outstanding. From the elegant presentation of each dish to the exquisite flavors, every meal was a true delight. The resort also offers daily activities at the pool and an open bar throughout the day, which added a touch of relaxation and fun to each day. With three expansive pools and a large jacuzzi, I had no shortage of places to unwind.
The waitstaff was always attentive, ensuring that my needs were met with a smile and genuine care.
To the entire team at Dreams Riviera Cancun, I want to express my deepest gratitude. I leave with my heart full of cherished memories, each moment spent here will remain with me always.

The Wedding was great, they did a really a beautiful event. The room we stayed in was a good size with plenty of light and interesting curved layout. The ocean view rooms have a rather minimal "ocean view". The Food in the buffet cafe wasn't great except at breakfast and when we tried room service it was a 90 min wait time. The other restaurants also had long waits and unfortunately the fish was overcooked. HOWEVER, the staff, service and every interaction with the people that work there was 5 stars !
Regarding seaweed on the beach. They try to keep the beach clean but it is an ever ending battle and with that you can swim in the ocean but we didn't want to have to cross the seaweed. The infinity pool is great, some behavior of adults was questionable and uncomfortable but it is what it is. I do recommend you get a cabana at either the beach (quieter) or infinity pool. The lounge chairs outside of that are full at 9am with people putting stuff on them and walking away. The other two pools are more for families kids and people that like playing volleyball in the pool etc. There are weddings almost overnight, you can hear them until around 11pm. It was't an issue for us.

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel compelled to share my experience to help others make an informed decision.
This was my first time traveling outside the country, and I had high hopes. Unfortunately, the trip started off poorly—the wait for our bags to arrive at my room took an unreasonably long time.
At check-in, one bartender was very kind and welcoming, which I appreciated. However, my experience quickly changed for the worse. A second bartender, Armando, blatantly ignored me in favor of white guests—more than once. The first time, I tried to brush it off, thinking maybe it was just bad timing. But the second time was harder to ignore: I was the only person at the bar, and as he finished preparing a drink, a group of white women walked up behind me. Instead of serving me, he looked past me and served them first. It was deeply upsetting.
This was the first time I have ever personally experienced racism, and it left me shocked and disgusted—especially on the very first day of what was meant to be a joyful family reunion. Several other members of my family noticed and experienced similar behavior throughout our stay.
As for the food: unfortunately, it was a major letdown. I’d rate it 0/10. The best meals I had were outside of the resort—particularly a sandwich I had on a yacht. Within the resort, the food was unappetizing, and the service from some of the staff bordered on rude. The steak was boiled, the waiters were dismissive, and overall it felt like we were more of a burden than guests.
Given everything going on in the world regarding racism and inclusivity, I expected better—especially at a resort that markets itself as welcoming and luxurious.
My family and I will not be returning, and I sincerely hope the management takes this feedback seriously. Discrimination has no place anywhere—especially not in hospitality.

My morning started with an amazing breakfast at the Land shark.amazing staff, friendly, Erick served me many morning and was always friendly and attentive.
The food at this resort was the best I have had at any resort in Mexico. The staff were great. The Italian and steak house amazing food and staff. One night they ran out of what I had ordered so they offered me something not on menu which ended up being the best meal I have ever had. . They work to make sure you are very satisfied and leave happy.
Enjoyed the entertainment staff. All very personable and engaging. Last night playing glow in dark pickleball. Great experience, so fun.
Highly recommend resort. It is not a big resort so get to meet people and socialize which I enjoyed.

Staff was exceptional throughout the resort.
Very laid back and relaxing vibe. Lack of beach access was no issue for us. If you prefer lots of activities and action, this probably will not be where you want to go. If you want relaxation while still having some fun this is a great option.
We did a swim up suite which gave us great access to pools and swim up bars.
We absolutely felt we got our moneys worth.

My wife and I spent a long weekend here. The resort and staff are fantastic. We felt very safe and comfortable. The pools are amazing. We loved that you can spend time in the quieter pool if you wanted. The foot options were good and making reservations were easy. The beach isn’t great. Lots of seaweed (which the resort can’t be faulted) and the water muddy appearing. My only complaint would be the up charge for certain steak selections in the steakhouse. In my opinion an all inclusive should be just that. All in all we had a great time

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Every single member (EVERYBODY) on the Margaritaville team were so kind, generous and helpful during our visit. The property is well maintained. A special shout out to our butlers Isaac and Karen, Charley and our waitstaff/ bartenders especially Erick and Daniel and Alexis who helped in creating a romantic oceanside candle-lit dinner. Sergio and Ericka brought us poolside drinks with a smile, and our private dinner at Frank and Lola’s was a highlight—Chef Oscar’s dishes were outstanding. Gabriel and Edwin treated us to both Mayan and Sexy Sexy Coffee, which were not only delicious but came with a fun and memorable presentation.
A special shout-out to Jesus at the JWB Grill, who set us up with an amazing selection of sauces to try with our steaks.

We had a morning group tennis beginners class with Jose Alfredo Alvarez that was great. It was our first time, and he did a great job teaching us all the basics with patience. It was so much fun and he is an really good teacher. He started on time and let everyone have the equal amount of time from teaching us basics to playing full games.

I chose this "5 star" resort due to the ratings on itravel.com - which was through Sunwing/Westjet. I was taking my teenage son and this resort appealed to me because it had an multi-purpose indoor court for basketball.
Upon arrival at the Princess property, I was told that Grand Sunset Princess was closed for renovations and that we will be staying on the Riviera side - if I had known, I wouldn't have booked this resort. I wasn't completely disappointed though as Riviera is still a big property - they have shuttles that take you from the lobby and throughout the resort which was very convenient with the heat and humidity. They just didn't have the indoor basketball court or an indoor pool as the resort I thought I was going to. They had a multipurpose outdoor court but there was no basketball around to play which was another disappointment.
The food was also very disappointing. They have 5 restaurants: a steakhouse, French, Italian, Mexican and Thai that you can book dinner reservations for through the concierge or a QR code. We tried all of them and although the staff were super friendly, the food was all disappointing. We liked the Italian restaurant best of all of them. They also had a buffet, snack bar and sports bar that you can get food at but I expected much better taste and quality at a "5 star" resort, especially in Mexico as I love Mexican food and just had high expectations. Many times we had breakfast at the buffet and the food was overcooked, dry and hard af.
What I was impressed about was that the property is immaculate and very well maintained. It was also very nice to see wildlife on the property which don't bother you at all but I did see a stray cat that looked like it was sick and losing hair which was sad to see.
I was disappointed that there wasn't poolside entertainment but the dance shows they had nightly at 8pm were great and we looked forward to going each night.
They offer a shuttle service to Playa Del Carmen for 85 pesos or $5 USD which was a great deal. They have convenient dropoff and pickup times and drop you at the strip on 5th Avenue. It was my first time in Playa and it wasn't great as you couldn't go to the beach as there's a ton of seaweed and it smells. However they don't harass you AS much to "come to their shop" as they do in Isla Mujeres.
Make sure to exchange money ahead of time as they have an ATM on site that charges a fee of $10 usd and make sure to bring money to tip the staff.
Overall, the entire staff was super friendly, the grounds are immaculate, the pools are nice and the dance shows were entertaining. But if food is important to you, I don't recommend coming here. I also didn't appreciate that I booked a specific resort then told that it was closed for renovations.

I had a beginner tennis lesson with Jose Alfredo Alvarez in the very hot sun. He was very good and helped with both forehand and backhand elements of the game. By the end of the lesson I definitely felt I improved physically and in my own confidence. I will be back!

incredibly frustrated with my experience at this resort. I was promised a refund after checking out early, but despite multiple follow-ups, I never received it. What’s worse is that every time I contacted them, I was ignored and not responded to.
It’s extremely disappointing to be told one thing and have the resort go back on their word. I planned my trip in good faith, they agreed to a refund, so why not follow through?
This kind of behavior feels dishonest and unprofessional. I expected better from a resort that claims to offer high-end service. Sadly, it seems they’re more interested in keeping your money than keeping their promises.
I won’t be staying here again and strongly caution others to get everything in writing — or better yet, book somewhere with integrity.

I recently spent a unique holiday in one of the best hotels in Mexico, and it was a real paradise! From the moment we arrived, we felt the atmosphere of luxury and hospitality: the staff greeted us with welcome cocktails, the check-in was quick and formal. Our room was very spacious. A huge bed, a jacuzzi on the terrace and a minibar, which was replenished daily, made our stay especially comfortable. The food at the hotel is beyond praise: the restaurant offered Mexican, Asian, Mediterranean and international cuisine. The fresh seafood and signature cocktails in the pool were especially memorable. The hotel itself is surrounded by greenery, with luxurious pools, a private beach with white sand and a spa complex. We enjoyed treatments with aromatic oils and massages to the sounds of the ocean - complete relaxation! This holiday was a dream come true: the perfect combination of comfort, service and the atmosphere of a tropical paradise. I will definitely come back here again!

This was our second time returning to dreams and we absolutely love this resort. Super Mario (Mario our bartender) is top notch. We absolutely love him and he is what keeps us coming back! He is very friendly and even taught us his recipes for spicy margaritas. From preparing us drinks without having to wave him down, to teaching us his ways- he is the best!
The rooms are also very updated and modern. Secrets next door is under construction, but it isn’t bothersome as they are only loud during normal business hours.
The food is great, I’m a food snob and don’t have anything to complain about. We walked into every restaurant with little to no wait and had great service.

Beautiful resort with really comfortable, spacious rooms, multiple pools, and a gorgeous beach with a beautiful view of Isla Mujeres. The staff were also incredibly helpful, welcoming and kept the resort looking immaculate.
The major downfall was the food. We ate at every single restaurant at the resort and there was not a meal that didn’t leave us incredibly disappointed. For the price we paid to stay here we would have expected the food to be at least decent but it was worse than Disneyland food and more comparable to hospital food at best. The drinks tasted extremely artificial and were extremely inconsistent as they don’t measure anything they put in, the pina colada was like drinking perfume. The best thing there was were the make-your-own tacos during breakfast at the World Cafe buffet as well as the ceviche during the dinner buffet.
Another letdown was the lack of things to do besides just sitting or swimming at the beach or by the pool. My husband and I have travelled extensively around the world and we typically try and experience everything the area has to offer but being at Dreams felt more like we were trapped at an overpriced American hotel with nothing to do, rather than in Mexico. There are of course many excursions they offer for an additional cost so we did a boat trip to Isla Mujeres which was easily the highlight of the trip, but was an additional $300 usd for the half day excursion. This was our first time in an all inclusive resort as we came here to attend a wedding, but it was a good learning experience for us that we will never go to a resort again. We could not wait to go home which has never been the case on any of our trips before. There are lots of activities for kids so maybe with children it would be a better experience.
For the price you pay, it is NOT worth it.

I am mainly writing this review because I want people to know that this resort is absolutely perfect for a family holiday. As many people probably do, we checked the reviews before and after we booked and were a bit afraid since quite a few ratings were so negative.
After 11 nights, meals at all the restaurants as well as beach and gym sessions, I have only good things to say. Above all, the staff is friendliest and hardest working team I have ever witnessed. Everyone greets you with a smile and in the restaurants as well as the pool, they make sure you are never missing anything.
The resort does host quite a few weddings. But since there are so many restaurants, we never had to wait anywhere and the restaurants never felt packed. There is an app as well that gives you all the information and lets you order to the room as well. The food quality is good and there is always a lot to choose from. Meat, fish and vegetables are always freshly cooked and delicious. The pasta and pizza might not be the best (you are in Mexico after all), but the Mexican options are great options every day. As are the BBQ ribs and sides.
The pools are nice and big enough for the amount of people. Some do have a rough surface, but we did not have any issues with that. The slides in the kids splash park as well as the two big ones are amazing. The water was very clean and of very good quality.
The gym is very well equipped and air conditioned. There is no squat rack but other than that you will find everything you need.
The beach is very big with plenty of day beds. The sand is as smooth as it gets and the ocean is very easily accessible - no big drop and not stones or big rocks.
I can really not understand how some people could possibly have had such a bad time here and only recommend this resort.

This hotel is very good for its value. Its restaurants are very high-quality. But there are a few complaints. First off, no relaxation pool all because of some poop? That’s kinda BS if you ask me. Next, this place is not teen-friendly, and don’t even allow teens to go have the Live DJ at the evening or be at the preferred club rooftop pool despite me seeing videos that they are allowed to. All in all, it’s a great hotel but be careful of all the tourism traps. They also can’t speak well in English, I tried my best but they wouldn’t understand me.

The resort itself is beautiful, and the staff are highly professional. Service throughout the property is excellent, and the employees are incredibly kind—especially considering how much they deal with day to day. The housekeeping team does a fantastic job keeping everything clean and well-maintained.
I love how if you need some quiet time you can hit the beach and if you feel like partying the pool is the place to be. As for night life, because its a family friendly resort i would say there isnt much to do at night if you are a party animal. The entertainment and dance shows are fun to watch though.
One standout feature is the gym—it’s one of the largest and nicest I’ve seen at any resort.
We attended a wedding and it was stunning.
However, the food is a major downside. It’s far from authentic Mexican cuisine, often bland, and in some cases might even upset your stomach. That said, I understand they’re preparing meals in massive quantities, which likely affects quality. Personally, I’d recommend going off-resort for meals if you’re looking for a better culinary experience.
The resort is very family-friendly and, overall, a solid choice for those traveling with kids.

Time is long inside the hotel : it’s a shame that water park for kids open so late. Most of the activities are running only for one hour (wave pool for example), whereas some of them don’t need any staff or security and could be let opened all day (volley for example).
I hope that customers who leave their towels on a pool chair at 8:00 am to book it and don’t come before 3:00 pm will go to hell 😈 all inclusive hotels which will manage to regulate that one day will go to paradise 😇

This place can do so much better, it’s beyond beautiful. Views from any part of the hotel was surreal. Unfortunately, they need to do better with their sanitation. Common areas that should be cleaned periodically were left unattended throughout the day. Pool area seats were impossible to find unless u wake up before 8 -am and place ur towels in those chairs. Food was mediocre, also they need to invest in their ACs to accommodate in the restaurants, it was extremely uncomfortable to seat and eat ur food. The only place I felt comfortable was the room, also housekeeper and as on point. In room service takes over an hour and they don’t allow more than 6 items, including the drinks. Not many options for beers. The preferred club wasn’t worthy at all.

We are here as I write this. This is the worst experience at an all inclusive, and experience in Mexico more broadly, we have ever had. We expect restaurant closure at all inclusive since that is how they make money, cutting access to what you paid for, but these guys have taken that to the extreme. There are zero options for lunch except food troughs. Few options for gluten free folks at all. Overall, service has been sub par. Some are good, most don't seem to care.
There is no pickleball court here. They have something that resembles one but it is not...unless you're OK if the ball doesn't bounce.
At best this is an illusion of a well appointed resort. At worst, it is a well run con Avoid this place.
Posting a picture of the hamburger you can get at one of the food troughs. I'd be embarrassed to serve this in a prison much less a resort.

Wife and I recently stayed at this resort and was blown away by the experience from start to finish. The rooms were absolutely stunning—spacious, beautifully designed, and the shower was next-level incredible. You can tell they paid attention to every detail when it came to comfort and luxury.
The grounds were meticulously maintained and just gorgeous. Even though the resort was at 80% capacity during our stay, it never felt crowded. There was always a sense of peace and space, which made it incredibly relaxing.
Now let’s talk about the food—out of this world! Every meal we had was exceptional, with a wide variety of delicious options that were clearly prepared with care and creativity. And the best part? We never had to wait for drinks. The staff was attentive and friendly, always making sure our glasses were full.
This resort truly sets the bar high. Can’t wait to return!

If you are planning going to Riviera Maya this summer, do make your reservation at Zilara, you will enjoy so much everything here, the pool is not too bic but with enough space so you can enjoy and relax, the beach is beautiful, I'm sure during the season where there is no sargasum it must be amazing. The rooms have incredible view, the food at all the restaurants is amazing, the drinks at the bars are excellent, I can assure that you will have a great time here.

Hello, first time staying at a Hyatt resort. All was well and the food was edible for the most part. Drinks were decent and got the job done. The only issue I ran into was that we were being ate alone while we were sleeping. Initially we thought it was possible mosquitoes the first few nights but we started to experience a few bits all over our bodies. I did reach out to the front desk Concierge and the issue was handled appropriately and we did a room inspection with the management team. We did initial believe it was bed bugs but nothing was found. Our room was changed even though this was our last night at the resort. The next room we did get in was the same exact room we paid for a few doors down and once we got in the room we noticed insects crawling on the bed so my fiancé immediately reached back out to the manager team to seek additional help. This particular time we moved rooms again and to our surprise we was offered an upgraded room at no additional cost or request for the upgrade. We literally only showered and slept in the room for the night because we had no other choice and we were leaving the next day. We did party a little on our last night and to our surprise when we got back to the room roughly 12:05am in the morning and we were tried and did not have the energy to fight about it any longer. There was indeed another bug crawling on the bed that I have video and time stamp for. No we did not report it the next morning because as stated the night prior the upgrade room was the most we could receive. We did not request the upgraded room we giving the upgraded room. I did reach out to the corporate office the next day once I got home and all that I was offered for my inconvenience was 10,000 world Hyatt points that does not even equate to one night stay at any Hyatt hotel or resort. I didn’t even request for a full refund I only requested for a refund of one night and is being told this is not a option and this is my only option. I will never be staying at another Hyatt resort or Hyatt in the future if this is how that handle guests who have video evidence and pictures of the issues and constantly being told this is per the manger Andres and Gustavo “While we acknowledge your discomfort, it’s important to note that due to our tropical location, occasional encounters with local wildlife or insects can occur, even with stringent preventive measures in place. These natural elements are part of the environment and, unfortunately, beyond our full control.” Which I understand completely but why are we dealing with insects that don’t fly on our bedding and dealing with being bite up in our sleep. DONT STAY AT THIS RESORT PLEASE LOOK ELSEWHERE !!!!

Beautiful resort, fabulous hospitality. Every staff amazingly welcoming, kind, friendly and cheerful. Super clean, wonderful food and drinks, great variety and quality. Entertainment crew did an excellent job every day and night energizing guests to come and all of the activities we came to were great. The spa is wonderful, we had massages and the water therapy.
The Pools were lovely. We did not find them cold as a previous guest noted. But it was warm when we were there. Sunshine everyday! Very Highly recommend.
We were 6 women in our 50's and 60's and can't wait to come back! Thank you so much.

Loved! Loved! Loved the Vine! The staff is absolutely AMAZING! The food was OUTSTANDING with so many choices! This is one of the cleanest places I have stayed and they were always on any area where guests left anything behind (some adults can't clean up after themselves). The entertainment was FANTASTIC! We went to 3 shows and enjoyed all 3 (and normally go to none). I look forward to return visit!!

We had an ocean view suite that was bigger than my house and had 2 full baths. Sea weed unfortunately disrupted the beautiful blue ocean, but the pools more than made up for it. Great drinks. Great food (especially Dragons & the bars on floor 12). More of a family friendly (18+) and couple resort though, so if youre single I would go more towards the point, but it was an amazing stay and bachelor party.

Absolutely loved this resort! The hotel was modern, spacious and clean. The pools and beach were very nice. The food at each restaurant was delicious and the hotel staff were phenomenal. Spent a week here in April and I have nothing but good things to say. Personally I want to mention the phenomenal customer service we received… EVERYONE who I had the pleasure of interacting with were amazing (I wanted to give a special shout out to Humberto and Manolo in the Market cafe) always provided us with friendly and gracious service from start to finish and with a smile. Food was surprisingly tasty, I’ve been to Mexico numerous times and I can say this was the best quality of food we have had and there were plenty of options. Rooms were spacious and the views are just breathtaking (we stayed in the Junior Preferred Oceanview room) and the A/C worked great. I wouldn’t say they have a lot of entertainment other than the evening, so it’s definitely more relaxing during the day. Beach was beautiful and clean… the only con would be you have to wake up pretty early if you want a good spot for the day, by 10am it was hard to get a chair by the pool! Overall great resort experience, will definitely be back!

We had an absolutely unforgettable stay at SLS Playa Mujeres All-Inclusive Resort in Cancun! From the moment we arrived, the experience was seamless and elevated, especially with the Elite upgrade—which is well worth every penny.
Our kids were obsessed with the family pool and thrilling water slides—they spent hours each day laughing, splashing, and making memories. It was the perfect setup for a family getaway where you never feel the need to leave the resort.
The staff was truly exceptional. A heartfelt thank you to Jane, our amazing customer service representative, and to Alexis and Luis, our dedicated butlers, who consistently went above and beyond to make our trip incredibly special. Their attention to detail and genuine care made all the difference.
We also can’t say enough good things about the lifeguards, who were always attentive and professional, giving us peace of mind as parents. And the 5-star restaurants on property? Absolutely top-notch—every meal was a culinary highlight with world-class flavors and service to match.
SLS Playa delivers luxury, comfort, and fun in one of the most beautiful beach settings we’ve visited. Family is Already looking forward to our next trip back!

Just got back from SLS Playa Mujeres and had a great time!
The resort has a stylish, modern vibe that’s definitely more adult-oriented, but it does have a nice waterpark and kid-friendly areas for younger ones. The beach was beautiful, and this area tends to have less seaweed than others, which was a big plus.
The rooms are a bit on the small side, but they’re super stylish and comfortable, and the bathrooms are surprisingly spacious. The staff was amazing—super friendly and always helpful!
The food was definitely a highlight. The steakhouse was one of the best I’ve had at an all-inclusive, and I also loved the Mexican restaurant and the adults-only Twiggy.
Overall, it's a great choice for a casual but elevated all-inclusive getaway—and one I’d definitely return to!

Hotel is flawless. Beach service and drinks are so high quality. Rooms are exceptional as well. We stayed 8 days in swim out room and it was best room we stayed so far! Definitely money well spent!
Couple of things for hotel to improve:
- kids club hours are limited and that should be extended to dinner hours
- restaurant services are quite random as well. You need to reserve well 2 hours for dinners (service might be slow)
- hibachi restaurant was so good and thanks to excellent chef Gerardo for his smiles and positive energy!
- dinner reservations are manual but not painful. We did 6 evening’s reservations in one visit!
- there are always sell ups in the restaurants but no pressure whatsoever! The regular menus are already high quality.

We recently stayed at this resort and had a great overall experience. The property itself is beautiful and everything felt fresh and new, which made the environment really enjoyable. The food was excellent with a wide variety of options to suit all tastes, and the service stood out — there were always staff around, ready to help with a smile.
The beach was also nice. While there was some sargassum, the hotel clearly made a consistent effort to clean it up, which we appreciated.
The main area for improvement is the entertainment. While there were some decent activities at the pool and gym during the day, the nightly shows didn’t quite measure up to what we’ve seen at other resorts or cruise ships. It would be great to see more engaging, music-driven evening shows — something lively that appeals to both kids and adults.
That said, we really enjoyed our time here and would recommend it, especially for the food, service, and relaxed atmosphere.

Our butler, Alexis, was also incredibly attentive and ensured our daily needs were met with care and professionalism.
The hotel itself is new, beautifully maintained, and the food was exceptional, absolutely no complaints there.
A couple of suggestions for improvement: it would be great to see more fresh juices offered at the juice bar instead of bottled options, and some additional nightlife activities for adults would enhance the overall experience.
I highly recommend this hotel for both couples and families, it offers a great balance and something for everyone. Well done to the entire team!

A fantastic dining experience awaits at the Japanese Steakhouse in Majestic Elegance Costa Mujeres! From start to finish, the entire meal was a true highlight of our trip, and we couldn't have asked for better service.
Our server, Bogart, was exceptional. He was incredibly attentive and welcoming, making sure we had everything we needed and offering great recommendations. He truly went above and beyond to ensure our evening was perfect.
The real showstopper, however, was our chef, Augustin. He was not only a masterful cook but an entertaining performer as well. The hibachi show was incredible—he had some serious skills! The food itself was delicious and cooked to perfection, a testament to his expertise.
We left feeling completely satisfied, having enjoyed both a fantastic meal and wonderful company. A huge thank you to Bogart and Augustin for a five-star experience! This is a must-try restaurant if you're staying at the resort.

Amazing resort. Room was not as clean as we expected but the food was pretty good. Raul at the Don Jaume restaurant was one of our best servers. The food and the service he provided was spectacular. At the Buffet Mar house restaurant and the server Daniel was also one of the people who provided us with top notch service. The rooms are gorgeous, comfortable and very cozy. Loved the resort all together.

We got to stay here at the resort for a week for my friends wedding. Every thing was so beautiful and every one was so friendly. Martin and Eduardo at the Mar seafood restaurant were great! Food was amazing , especially the fillet!! Also Gabriel and Marco at the hibachi restaurant were so fun and great, every one is so friendly at this resort. Chan is awesome, always happy to help. I cant Wait to come back. I have nothing bad to say. Perfect getaway !

I had an incredible experience here for my honeymoon. Amazing service, delicious food, and beautiful views everywhere. There are pools and bars everywhere which is so fun. The staff are incredible, always making sure you’re happy and satisfied. The room service is top notch, you can press 0 on the phone in your room and ask for anything. A weird things is that two restaurants require you to wear pants; I didn’t even consider bringing pants to Mexico in July. They also have weddings every day on the family side of the resort that can run until 2pm with music blaring making it very difficult to sleep. Aside from those minor complaints I highly recommend coming here. The Mexican and sushi restaurants are phenomenal.

What a wonderful experience, the ambiance was great, the food was great, but wahat was outstanding was the service and entertainment.
I appreciate the attention from the staff, no matter from the bar tender, waiter, hotel crew, to the housecleaning they made sure we were taking care of every step of the way.
Next the entertainment: they made sure to give a show every night. Even after hours by the DJ, karaoke, pool side entertainment..Dian was our favorite, her energy was contagious, she’s so bubbly and she wanted to make sure we had a great time. She made it so much fun and made you feel comfortable and confident to have a good time.
I definitely would recommend Hard Rock Resort Cancun for anyone coming g for a good time, both for Adults and family friendly.

Great hotel staff are brilliant can’t do enough. We booked here for 2 weeks but it’s abit miss leading as you can’t book the restaurants as it says online you can so some nights the main restaurant we couldn’t get in as was 2 hours+ wait and the kids were falling asleep after waiting so long. Other then that really the hotel is sound great atmosphere lovely friendly staff can’t do enough for you. Would recommend booking your day trips down the town as the hotel charge a lot more on most trips. Over then that we had a boss time just few things we didn’t like

The staff at Hard Rock Hotel Cancun were great—very friendly and welcoming. The food was okay overall. Lunch was solid with classic options like pizza and burgers, and the seafood was a nice touch. Dinner had great restaurant choices, but be prepared to wait 1–2 hours during peak times. Breakfast was the weakest meal, and the dining area was always hot and uncomfortable.
The Roxity Kids Club was the highlight for us. Being able to drop off our 4-year-old gave us some quality time to relax as a couple, and our child really enjoyed it. Abby and Andy were awesome host and deserve recognition.
Big downside: the timeshare sales pressure. From check-in to check-out, we were constantly approached. It was extremely persistent and made us uncomfortable. Sadly, this alone would stop us from coming back.

Entertainment was great. We had Christopher, Johnny, Fernando, Diana and Omar were so into the movie trivia that got everyone at the pool was participating. We had a great time.
Laura was very helpful and very involved with the kids and the activities. The pool area was very clean. The pink room was so cute. My daughter loved it. Kids Club Roxity it’s so great for the kids to also enjoy themselves.

My fiancé and I just got back home from staying here and had an AMAZING experience! Food was amazing, atmosphere was great, and staff was super friendly!! We have been traveling to different all inclusive resorts to decide where to have our destination wedding at and this was our top contender until arriving back home and have crossed it off our list.
The reason being because I got double charged for an extra night and have not been able to talk to ANYONE about it. I had went and paid for the additional night the day before checkout and got charged again in the morning. I have called so many times and all they say is I need to talk to a different department and kept going back and forth and got hung up on multiple times. I had asked about our deposit when I checked out and said we would get that back as soon as the room is cleaned and checked out to make sure there is no damage (understandable, I know this is normal and can take more time to be returned depending on the bank) but still haven’t received that deposit back yet.
Overall, everything was great while down there, but having such a hard time getting my money back after they double charged me. It seems like they don’t care once you already left and have all your money and we don’t want our friends and family to have to deal with that. We wish this didn’t happen because we truly loved this place.

Everything was amazing. If you are staying on the adults only side of the resort, do yourself a favor and eat at the adult only buffet instead of the one by the Azul pool. The food is better and it's quieter. The only gripe I had was that no matter what we set the thermostat in our room it was 65°F in the room. Fine if you like it cold, but a little too cold for us. Large selection of food and pools and fun. We didn't go on any excursions, but there were many to choose from.

We stayed in the Grand Moon Palace Cancun Hotel two weeks ago and the service was astonishing. All the installation, the personnel, and the restaurants were excellent. The hotel exceeded all our expectations.
In particular, I would like to extend special thanks to Mrs. Ana (Manager of the buffet restaurant at SunRise Moon Palace Hotel). She was very special with our daughter, who has several food allergies. We have never received this type of service in any other restaurant. She was worried and very kind in providing quality and safe food for my daughter. That personalized service is priceless.

Our family absolutely adores Moon Palace, especially our kiddos. This is our 3rd visit. Since they made the honor roll, we asked where they wanted to go, and without a doubt, they said moon palace Mexico. We love the service, and kids love the game rooms and kids club. The food was good and we enjoyed eating at both resorts.
Please note: You'll be asked to do a 90 min presentation upon arrival after check-in. You can say NO, but if you do decide to go, please note that they will do EVERYTHING in their power to get you to buy even when they say there is no obligation to buy. They will drop the prices to get you to commit. Even when we were walking out to get the shuttle, the rep was still asking us to make a deal after we spoke with 3 people upstairs... a bit ANNOYING, but know that you can say NO and stand firm on that unless you wanna buy. We went to the grand and were not impressed at all. The kids like the pool and play room, but we all prefer the food at Nicuz and Sunrise, we felt it was way better, especially the buffet. Pizza is better at The Grand, though. Overall, we will definitely return to Moon Palace but only to Nicuz or Sunrise.

Dead Pool
Huge Resort with Awesome accommodations based on location in the resort. They are divided by names "The Grand" being the first stop when you enter Moon Palace. The Grand has laser tag, bumper cars, buffet restaurants and a huge water park. I stayed at the Sunrise location which is a good walking distance from the pool and restaurants so if you want to reserve a good hotel spot make sure you add The Grand because you'll have to pay an extra $200.00 to go there if your stay isn't at that location. It's an extra $300.00 to use the golf carts to ride around the resort if you want. The staff are all stars and phenomenal. They made the stay excellent including the food and drinks. The chef, cooks, servers and housekeeping give them all raises. The pool is a fun time with the walk up bar to the pizza and snacks. Awesome time don't hesitate and enjoy family fun here at The Moon Palace resort.

This is based on my family's stay at Moon Palace Sunrise. We are members and generally love the Palace properties. Occupancy was below 60%.
There are reasons I could give this stay 5 stars. There are reasons I could justify giving this stay 1-2 stars.
Transportation and check-in were seamless. 5 Stars.
Food was good, not great. 3-4 stars. Best experience at Momo we've had. We usually love Smoked. We ate there a couple of times this trip. While the flavor was good, cold BBQ isn't. It was cold each time. Buffets were ok. Gondola was very good.
Service is what makes this place special. 5 stars, and would be more if allowed. High end resorts don't have better service than we receive here. The pool concierge team of Cruz (velvet hands), Jeronimo, Lizbeth, Richard, & Ricky are the best. Victor was our concierge, and was excellent. Service in the lobby was great each night.
The grounds are beautiful! Lots of wildlife as well.
The pool. This, and the service, is why you come to Sunrise. The condition and maintenance of the pool was beyond sad. Tons of missing tiles (may want to bring water shoes as feet will get scraped if active in the pool). Cleaning/upkeep appears to be an area where Palace cut costs as it simply isn't maintained as well as it was in the past. Not filthy, but not far from it. The biodiesel compounded the problem, as light clothing (even my band) developed a beige tint. The biodiesel also caused a dark brown ring to develop around the pool.
Rooms were clean, good wifi, plenty of hot water, and cold AC. We were in rooms 3700 and 3702, so had more space than most. The bar was stocked at least once each day.
The spa at the golf course isn't the best. The spa, and hydrotherapy, at the Grand are great! Alberto at the golf course drink station is awesome!!!

The staff are generally amazing. Our Butlers Linda was exceptional. Eduardo was scheduled to work less but was good. Disappointed after 4 days the butlers rotated and we were assigned new ones. Food was good to great for the most part. Carlos drink server at Main Pool Grand Palladium was awesome. TRS Pool server not particularly good. Some guys there were really nice but were not our server so that was a need improvement area. Overall the property is lovely. We were with a large group and some had various complaints with rooms. One family I meant were dissatisfied with requested items not being delivered to rooms. That said for us it was really nice overall great staff the golf carts transports were generally reasonable wait times. Bed was hard. Some nice entertainment.

We are 5 days into our Honeymoon here and are completely blown away by this resort and all of the staff. Our butlers Christopher and Alexia have gone above and beyond to help us with anything we might need. Today we took an Archery class with Alan and he was phenomenal and so kind and fun!! The tennis center has also been a highlight and we have LOVED getting to play on our honeymoon. We will definitely be back in the future!!

Our experience at Helios was Amazing starting with Arturo . We were treated like royalty. We were absolutely treated amazing from meeting the chef to our amazing servers. The manager greeted us and was very attentive to our needs from enter to deserts. We were assisted by other servers Braylon,Soto, Helios, and Nicholas, they all were simply amazing. The food was outstanding. The he ambiance was warm and friendly and we really enjoyed our dining experience. If you’re in Cancun you would certainly do yourself a great favor and visit their location you will not be disappointed!!!

Our vacation at TRS Coral Hotel was great! The rooms are beautiful and the food was good as well. Specific to Travel Club members, the member club pool had the best service out of any others throughout the week. More specifically Jesus, who is the members pool butler. From day one he was very attentive and personable to our entire group. Then following a few days later, he remembered names and faces to our family without us ever reminding him. He offered to get drinks, food, etc., from other pools when the member pool didn’t have something we specifically wanted. Fantastic Beach Getaway?..
This Secrets Maroma Riviera beach hotel was everything we hoped for! The service was excellent, the staff incredibly friendly, and the food was delicious with great variety.
There is a bit of seaweed on the beach and in the water, which is common in the Mexican Caribbean, but the hotel staff does an amazing job cleaning it every day to keep the beach beautiful and enjoyable.
The location is unbeatable, right on the beach with stunning views and a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere, the rooms are clean and comfortable with the private pool walk-in, and the whole experience was truly worth the price.
However, we felt pressured during a membership presentation that was supposed to last 90 minutes but ended up taking over 3 hours (which took valuable time away from our vacation). In our opinion, the membership offers limited value due to ongoing fees and restrictions. We prefer the freedom to find our own luxury deals, as we did this time—often with better value and no long-term commitment.
Overall, a great experience—just be cautious with the membership pitch.

City Highlights
I have very mixed emotions about secrets Maroma. I would be inclined to give it three stars because the rooms were nice and the staff was unbelievably friendly and extremely helpful. It was clean. That being said, our ocean view room was far from what is ethically considered an ocean view, The food was barely palatable, and the single reason I had to deduct the star was entirely based on the number of fake reviews.
My girlfriend and I did not have a bad time, but we certainly would have chosen somewhere else if the reviews had been honest. When you pay hundreds of dollars per night for all inclusive, you don’t expect to be this lacking in quality of the food.
That being said, I can’t reiterate enough, how helpful the staff was, and everyone was very friendly. Between this and cleanliness, these are top-tier concerns when staying at hotels and secrets nailed them both.

Excellent resort! We went with a group and we all stayed in the preferred area and the service was 10/10. The staff was friendly, observant and went above and beyond. Grounds were immaculately kept. Rooms beautiful and clean. You can tell they take pride in the resort. There was some construction going on, but they did a great job of not letting it disturb the overall flow/feel of the resort. Would happily return!

Secrets Maroma Beach Resort in cancun is absolutely a 5 star resort with the most beautiful beach with the most beautiful white powder sand and turquoise blue water. The rooms are very large and comfortable with a large walk in shower, large jacuzzi tub. The restaurants have the most amazing food all chef style. All the staff are top notch and on top of their game. Every room has a connoisseur with 24 hour room service available. Very large infinity pool with swim up bar. Cannot say enough about secrets Maroma Beach Resort. Definitely recommend to any one wanting an adult all inclusive get away, you won't regret this one. The only downfall was where the smoking section was located was right beside our room and if sitting on our terrace or in our swim out pool you could smell the cigarette smoke. Really wish they would move the smoking section to another location far away from the rooms. Other than that we have no complaints.

Would not recommend. Overpaid for a Governors suit swim out ocean front—all we see are the backs of beach cabanas. We’re preferred but on the opposite side of the resort from the preferred beach/lounge/restaurant so have to hike to the other side to enjoy the amenities we paid for. False advertising for the suit- definitely not worth the extra $2500 upgrade. Service had been sub par at best. Have to repeat requests for water & butter every time. Can’t get a banana at breakfast or chocolate ice cream anywhere. Things that have been staples at the other Secrets resorts. Cocktails everywhere and coffee drinks at Coco Cafe have been hit or miss. Not sure how you mess up a mango margarita or Bloody Mary to the point it’s undrinkable, but they figured out a way. We’re also used to larger cups with lids and straws at Coco Cafe so you can carry the drinks back to your room. Something we’ve enjoyed at the other Secrets resorts. The cups here are like small paper shot glasses with no lid. Not conducive to carrying it down the huge staircase right outside the cafe and back to your room. Couldn’t enjoy our swim out almost a whole day because they were doing construction on a unit above and all we could hear were drills, clanging & scraping. Took several of us complaining before it stopped after 3pm. Our concierge went on vacation and let us know, but his fill-in never reached out and we stopped getting the daily text with updates on events/activities. We stopped by and spoke with her and she took our number again—still no communication. Seems like every time we’re in the room we get a door bell ring. Often while still sleeping in the morning or napping in the afternoon. There should be a ‘do not disturb hanger’ —if there is, no one informed us. Heard and read so many good things about this resort but have been severely disappointed. Three things have been great—the food at the restaurants, evening shows, and the room/mattress. Otherwise, I can’t tell you how many times we’ve whispered to each other, “I hate this place!”

We had a fabulous time at this resort. From the room to the food and exceptional service. I can’t say enough about how the staff really looks after you and wants to make your stay so personal and enjoyable.
Rooms are clean and well kept. The staff (Sharon) at the quiet pool take great care of you. Remembering your drink requests from day to day and where you like to sit & having your towels on the chair waiting for you and sharing about the local areas of town to visit.
The food at each restaurant was truly a gastronomic experience. The concierge in each building check on you daily.

My husband and I visited Secrets Akumal earlier this month for a 4 night stay. We were blown away! This was the 3rd Secrets that we have stayed at over the years and it was the best by far. The resort grounds are lush and gorgeous, the ambience of each of the three pools was perfect to match our mood for the day (party/active, relaxed but lively, and calm/tranquil). The beach was not good for swimming, but we good to snorkel and see sea turtles and other marine life which more than made up for it.
All of the staff at the resort are excellent. We especially appreciated Ana, Jesus, and Velvet that did service at the pools while we were there. The entertainment team was fun and I enjoyed Spanish lessons with Alan.
The food was also very good. Great variety of restaurants and good options at the buffets. I don’t think the resort was at capacity, so we never had an issue with wait times to get into the restaurants, but this could be different if the result was full.

We just left after a wonderful week long stay. The food, the rooms, and the activities all exceeded our expectations. We were blown away by the hospitality of the staff and the beautiful property. While there we booked services at the spa, which was incredible and was one of the best massages I’ve ever had. We also did a snorkeling tour through the hotel and saw so many beautiful turtles. We also loved the quiet pool and the food at himatsu, Santorini, the patio and protofino. We both agreed that the food was some of the best we’ve ever had at an all inclusive and the menu was quite impressive. Overall we would highly recommend a stay at Secrets Akumal and we hope to visit again soon.

This was our first time at an all-inclusive, as we normally like to explore the local area with little time at the resort, but this was worth every penny! Everyone was so kind, the food was SO good (especially the buffet, Italian, and Asian), the pools were wonderful and not very crowded, service was great, room was comfortable, having a swim out was awesome…I can’t say enough good things!
Best of all, I forgot some prescriptions and was able to work with the concierge after we left to get them back. They were so kind, helpful, communicative, and thorough, and I was SO glad to be able to go grab them before we went back home!
A 12/10 experience and would love to come back! Relaxing, comfortable, fun…everything you’d want and more!

This was my second time at Secrets Akumal! This resort is full of beautiful, lush tropical areas, 3 amazing pools for different vibes and experiences, and delicious restaurants to choose from!
We stayed in a Preferred club ocean view room in building 4 right above the preferred club. Their lounge is really small, and check in was kind of long, but they have drinks and snacks while you wait.
We did snorkeling by our selves and it was some of the best snorkeling we have ever done! Beautiful coral reefs and fish to see! There was seaweed, but for the most part, the water was clear to enjoy, with seaweed being cleaned up on the beach.
Rooms were starting to look slightly dated, but the beds were comfortable!
The entertainment team was so sweet and fun! We really enjoyed painting turtles with Arantxa. She was so kind and we enjoyed getting to know her.
Alfredo at santorini restaurant was wonderful as well as Raul at the portofino (our favorite meal).
Francisco and Antonio around the pool 2 were amazing and always there if you needed them!
Lastly, Karen was our concierge and she was so sweet to make our anniversary special! So happy I chose this resort for our special day, look forward to coming back in the future.

Overall good experience at this resort with excellent service being the standout feature for me. My room showed signs of aging but I must say it was clean and housekeeping kept it looking good throughout our stay. Food variety at the on site restaurants (dinner reservations required) was just enough for our 5-night stay, and many meal options were delicious. Be sure to save some room for the amazing desserts also. I would’ve appreciated knowing ahead of time that not all restaurants were open on all days rather than walking over to find them closed for breakfast or lunch. On this visit, seaweed had taken over the beach so we spent time at the pools which were fun/engaging or quiet/relaxing depending on the choice of pool area.

Honeymoon Disappointment – Truly Heartbreaking Experience
My wife and I absolutely love Mexico and have spent the last five years visiting various resorts, both big and small. We’ve always praised the country for its warmth, hospitality, and top-tier customer service—which is why we chose it without hesitation for our honeymoon in November 2024.
Unfortunately, this trip was a huge letdown and has left us questioning whether we’ll return to Mexico at all, which is heartbreaking given how much we love it.
We booked this luxury resort and even paid for the upgraded swim-out room expecting a special experience, especially for such a meaningful occasion. But from the moment we arrived, the customer service was practically nonexistent. No one seemed to acknowledge or care that we were celebrating our honeymoon, and the attentiveness we’re used to in Mexico was completely missing.
To make matters worse, we were turned away from dining at the Japanese restaurant simply because we were walk-ins—even though we were guests and it wasn’t fully booked. We were instead seated at the sushi bar and told we could only order sushi. No effort was made to accommodate us or make the moment feel special.
We’ve never left a negative review about a resort in Mexico before—never had a reason to. But this experience was so far below what we’ve come to expect and love about traveling here that it genuinely shook us. It felt cold, impersonal, and far from the honeymoon trip we had been dreaming of.

Prepare to be harassed to become a vacation club member. We listened to a presentation the first day to get a free massage and it was hilariously awful. We had to tell three different sales people no before they would let us leave. They offer is a scam, please beware, if it sounds too good to be true remember: it probably is. The representatives called our room I think every day the rest of our stay, harassing us again to join. The reason for writing this review was because on our way out to catch our shuttle to the airport another person harassed us, almost making us miss our shuttle.
As far as the resort: it was fine. I am not much of an all inclusive traveler but was ultimately disappointed that none of the amenities we requested before arrival were ready for us. We never got our pillow or welcome drink kit. You have to request turn down service. Mexican restaurant was disappointing for all, sushi was the best but they are way too strict about reservations for it - the girl at the counter is probably the worst customer service we received the entire visit.
Staff overall are excellent and the food was better than expected. The drinks are weak so ask for shots.
The spa was $$$ and teeny tiny but we really enjoyed our free massage. Worth the harassment throughout our visit to join their crappy vacation club :)

Amazing food, the Italian restaurant was the best. We really enjoyed our stay there, there were lots of food offerings that were delicious and many activities to do. We got the ocean front hotel room and it was worth it. We asked to be on the fourth floor and that made our trip even better by seeing the ocean. There will be high pressure sales and they will try to use a credit system between massages, spa treatments, outings, golf, whatever they can get you to sit through an hour and a half long presentation. It’s an extremely high pressure sales event where they have several closers. We opted to not do this because we were on vacation, but other people were able to get up to $2200 worth of credits if they sat through the presentation remember this is high-pressure so they know and they have all answers to every single objection you might have Other than that. It was a really good vacation. We spent a lot of time at the pool in the quiet side, but then also joined some of their fun activities at the center pools. I would recommend.

Amazing resort with amazing service.
We were fortunate this trip July 2025 to have two amazing butlers Alejandro and Alexander.
They reserved our chairs and cabanas every day. Checked in on us through out the day to ensure all was running smoothly for us.
We also had other amazing servers throughput the restaurants and bars which I have mentioned on Trip Advisor.
The only negative I have to mentioned is the flooring at the Escondida pool has become rather rough compared to other pools.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. It was an amazing experience. We told them the reason for our stay and upon arrival, our door was decorated with a sign and our room had a bottle of champagne on ice waiting for us. The staff are highly attentive and personable. The event staff are high energy and were able to draw crowds for activities. I liked using the app for room service and to check out that resort activities were happening each day, as well as check the hours of operation for restaurants on the resort. The food and drinks were prepared well, but the quality of the facility and staff really made this trip amazing. We happened to stay during the Easter holiday and the Easter Bunny paid a visit which was fun! Great ocean views. We had a room overlooking the main pool, which was cool to spectate special evening events. There were always chairs by the pool and oceanfront. We felt totally safe the entire time for our first international and all-inclusive trip. The adults-only atmosphere was relaxing and a definite perk of this resort. We would love to try another Secrets resort in the future!

Just returned from a wonderful week spent at this resort. My finance and I loved it and had a really nice time. The pools were amazing, fun with lots of entertainment going on throughout the day. The beach was really nice. A bit of seaweed but not too bad. The room was clean and spacious with a jacuzzi tub which we enjoyed using. Staff was friendly and attentive, always available to help. Amazingly, for an all inclusive, the food was very good. Our favorite restaurant was the Italian place. We hope to visit again someday and definitely plan on visiting other Secrets resorts.

We have been vacationing at Pearl for nine years and will keep coming back. The resort is intimate, well kept, and they are always making upgrades. We were there for July 4th, and they went all out throwing an amazing USA Independence Day party. It was really impressive. The entire staff at this resort always exceeds our expectations. It's wonderful to see so many of the same faces each visit greeting you with "Welcome home." They become like family. This trip, our long time favorite bar tender, Jairo, was at check-in to make our drinks...a great kickoff to vacation. Horacio set us up at the pool each day making sure our trip was going well. Wilbert served breakfast and lunch with a smile. Monica kept the cold drinks coming at the pool. The playmakers, Candice and Raiders, took time to chat with us each day/evening and brought the fun and energy. Jesus in the Pearl restaurant is such an attentive waiter and just a pleasure to talk to. We seek out a table in his section every time we eat there. Rosenberg is another bartender who makes great drinks and always gives a smile and wave if he is passing by. Honestly, every single staff member is quick with "Hola" and a smile. They are the reason we keep coming back!!

We absolutely love Pearl! We stayed in a Master suite this time for 10 days, loved it. The staff are always friendly, like family. We were there during the anniversary, and Easter. We were lucky enough to participate in the special lunches they had in the garden area, we also got to have the special chefs dinner, we eat mainly fish and chicken, at the Chefs dinner they prepared special plates with chicken for us.
The pool was way too cold, the hot tub was very very dirty. Just gross. Those were the only negatives, but they were pretty big negatives.

Top-Notch Experience — No Need to Leave the Resort
This resort truly offers everything you need for a great vacation. There’s an abundance of food, a wide variety of activities, and plenty of options to keep everyone entertained. It’s an excellent choice for families traveling with kids and teens—a perfect mix for all ages.
Our children especially loved the circus-themed restaurant, the massive slides, and the arcade. We enjoyed relaxing in the lazy river and appreciated the overall elegance of the hotel. A standout feature was the complimentary shuttle service to nearby sister hotels, which were just a short ride away. The Japanese restaurant at one of the sister properties was fantastic, offering flavorful sushi and a great selection.

We stayed at Moon Palace Sunrise for 3 days and 3 nights, and unfortunately, it didn’t live up to expectations — especially as the final stop of our 2-week trip across the U.S. and Mexico.
To start with the positives: the resort is large, clean, and well-maintained. The breakfast and lunch buffets were good, with plenty of variety. There are several restaurants on-site, though most of the à la carte meals we tried were quite average for a resort of this level.
One highlight was the evening entertainment — the shows were well-organized, lively, and a pleasant way to end the day. The effort the entertainment team put in definitely added some value to the overall experience.
However, the biggest letdown was the “tour” offered to us at check-in. We were told it would be a short visit to promote Moon Palace Grand, in exchange for breakfast, a day pass, and $300 in resort credit — just 90 minutes of our time. It sounded like a decent complimentary offer, especially during a short stay.
In reality, it turned into a high-pressure sales pitch for their membership program that lasted well over 3 hours. We ended up wasting nearly half a day of our vacation — time we couldn’t afford to lose. I understand the resort may respond with a standard reply, but I’m sharing this to warn others who may be offered the same.
We also got a chance to explore the Grand, and honestly, it wasn’t very impressive. Having stayed in other all-inclusive/luxury resorts during our trip — including in New York, Mexico City, and Tulum — we found Moon Palace to be the most underwhelming. When booking, I had considered choosing the Grand instead of Sunrise, but I’m glad I didn’t spend the extra money.
Overall, while the resort has some strengths — particularly the well-kept grounds and enjoyable shows — the average dining and misleading promotional tactics made this a disappointing end to an otherwise great trip. Based on our experience, I wouldn’t return or recommend it.

I stayed at Moon Palace Grand for my daughter’s birthday with family, and unfortunately, the experience was very underwhelming. While the resort looks beautiful at first glance, there are several things that made our stay less than enjoyable.
First, the resort is massive—so large that you have to rely on golf carts to get around, which takes forever. This might sound fun, but it ends up being a major inconvenience, especially with kids. The app is supposed to help you navigate with an interactive map, but it barely works, and everything is done through that app. If you’re not tech-savvy, you’re out of luck because staff aren’t proactive about helping or guiding you.
The food was just okay—nothing special. Most restaurants felt very average, and there wasn’t anything that stood out as exceptional. The water park and pools close ridiculously early, which left us with nothing to do with the kids after a certain time. Only one small pool stays open until 8 PM, and even that felt limiting for a resort of this size and price point.
The beach is dirty and I would not recommend swimming. The water is very murky. Stay elsewhere if you’re looking for nice beach views.
The Wired Lounge, which is meant to be a fun space for kids and teens, was chaotic. There’s no structure or staff enforcing any kind of order, so some kids hog the games for hours while others don’t get a turn.
On top of all that, the entire place feels like a sales pitch. From the moment you arrive to the moment you leave, staff constantly push promotions and offers for a future stay. Even at checkout, when I was in a rush to gather my family and check out, I was being cornered with a pitch to book again. When I declined, the attitude changed quickly—they act like they’re helping, but it’s all about the sale.
All in all, I expected so much more for the cost. There was very little genuine hospitality, too much focus on upselling, and not enough to justify returning. I won’t be coming back.

We celebrated our kids’ birthday with mariachis at La Cantina—a beautiful surprise! The staff throughout the resort was kind and helpful. Everything felt safe and clean, and excursions were easy to book.
The entire experience in Mexico was unforgettable—so many warm and kind people. We can’t wait to come back!
Only downsides: limited use of resort credits, sales offers, and some beach odor—but nothing that affected our amazing trip.

The biggest downside of this whole trip was definitely the food. Honestly, that’s our only major complaint. We didn’t want to leave a review right away, thinking it might’ve just been us — but after asking around, 5 out of 5 people we spoke to felt the same way.
Even the Mexican food, which we had high hopes for, was very bland. No seasoning, no flavor — not even a hint of spice. The Italian food was okay, but nothing special.
Another weird thing was the alcohol. For some reason, no matter what we drank, it just didn’t hit. I’m not even a regular drinker, especially not of hard liquor, and I still couldn’t catch a buzz. We tried different types, but it was just off.
That said, the place itself is great for kids — lots of fun and family-friendly. But if you’re a foodie or even just hoping for decent resort food, this might not be the spot for you.
I’ll say it again
to be fair, it’s a great place for kids — very family-friendly and fun. But considering how much we paid, we honestly didn’t feel like it was worth it. The food and drink quality really brought the whole experience down.

Hedonistic Adventurer
A smaller, more upscale and intimate naturalist resort. Quieter during the day with parties at night. More reserved but comfortable still. It doesn’t have a particular vibe or energy to it but it makes for a different kind of vacation time. The location is a bit remote and so you’re definitely going to spend your days and nights in the resort. It was good to try it but it wasn’t really my scene. I prefer something more wild, younger and freeing.

First time visit to Desire. The trip was much better then i would have imagined. The resort is small enough to be cozy and familiar without feeling like you have no privacy. The food is excellent with a variety of options to choose from. My favourite by far was the buffet. As a vegetarian my choices were plentiful. Not to knock the restaurants. Despite not having many vegetarian options on the menu the chef was always eager to create some vegetarian option. The staff at Desire cannot be praised enough. From the person who takes your luggage when arriving, to the front desk staff checking you in , to the activity leaders, servers, spa staff and general laborers. Everyone is polite, friendly, helpful and professional. A shout out to the few staff we got to know , Pina, Bella, Bobbi, Mariane, Leyda, Andrea, Erik, Davis, Luis, Carlos, and my apologies for anyone i've forgotten.
