We were disappointed throughout our visit to the Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun. The experience, service, food and rooms were all well below our expectations, and what was promised. Service is inconsistent, food quality is average at best, with no reservations available but long waits to be seated and served.
Rooms were spacious, but smelled of mildew with a large jacuzzi tub that filled with brown water and hard to control temperature. On the only plus side the mattress and bedding were comfortable and we had no issues with housekeeping.
During our entire visit much of the resort and several restaurants were closed for a private group without any communication or accommodations for the remaining visitors. Many public areas, especially restaurants and bars, had disgusting stained seating and furniture in need of repair. Drinks everywhere are served in small plastic cups sized for children.
Assume there is no beach, as it was covered in seaweed and had maybe 10 feet of beach. Main pool water was very murky compared to the others which were colder in temp though clear and had fewer children than the main pool. Limited seating and umbrellas which requires either early AM wakeup to claim chairs or renting a cabana for ~$100 a day, but they don’t have enough enough pillows/cushions for all cabanas even if you paid for the cabana. Pool menu is very limited.
If you are looking for a quality all-inclusive resort in Cancun I would recommend looking elsewhere.

Headed out from a wonderful stay at Hyatt Ziva Riviera Cancun. The building is quite stunning and it had many amenities to make your stay enjoyable. We booked this location for 5 nights as a birthday getaway. Our room looked over a quieter pool which only down fall was the distance from any bars. The last 2 days of our stay someone did end up coming by to service the pool luckily. The restaurants do close occasionally so I recommend downloading the app. Food is what really lowers the review for me. As someone who previously stayed at a Royalton, the food was much more Canadian/American there. The food here could use some improvements on quality but understandable it is Mexico. Overall, fantastic staff who cater to you, are kind, and make you feel at home. We received many birthday trinkets so definitely mention your celebration if there is one. I would definitely come back!

5 stars for our experience here!! From the beautiful ocean front master suite with a sunrise view, to the incredible service - thank you to Josie and our “butler” Daniel for being so incredible and attentive — and to all the staff who worked non-stop. Service was top notch! The rooms and were very clean but the pools did get cloudy at times and I wish they were ALL heated in the winter months! We really could only use the activity pool, but luckily that’s what our kids preferred anyway. The beach was small but fine! They worked hard to remove the seaweed daily. We left with no complaints and a great time!

We are having a blast! Ernesto at the bar is the best. Pools are great. Beach is not the best but we knew that and love everything else about the resort.
Was going great then they "lost" our reservation for the Hibachi restaurant. We were excited and very hungy for the 9:30 reservation. Only to find out they lost the reservation. Disappointing service for an otherwise great stay.

Loved every single detail about this resort! Staff are incredibly aware and are constantly checking in on guests to ensure you are experiencing the best time. The resort layout is beautiful and offers many different pools if you are wanting to switch up scenery. The restaurants are incredible; we had the opportunity to try each restaurant and they kept getting better. We became close with some staff, namely Diego at the Sport’s Bar, Henry at the outdoor lobby bar and Agustin at La Parrilla - they are the best and so, so good at what they do. We were very sad to part ways with our new friends! Overall, this resort is absolutely beautiful and we had the best time. We will definitely be recommending HZ Riviera Cancun to our friends and family!!!

My experience at the resort was disappointing for several reasons. First, the staff constantly followed our group around, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. The resort seemed to monitor everyone very closely, which gave off a strange vibe. My husband left the resort once, and gave his room number, while I stayed. I then got three strange phone calls with no one on the other line. Another time my husband came out of the shower in a towel and a man who worked there was standing in our room asking for dirty dishes. The keys could break into any room. We tried using our Visa card when we left our key once and have a video of it working no problem to get in. There was also no nightlife to speak of, so if you wanted to relax with a drink anywhere after a certain time, the staff acted strangely, even if you were quiet. One of the biggest complaints from my group was that no drinks were served after 1 PM, despite what was stated on the website. I had made sure to confirm this when we booked, and I had assumed everything was clear, but this caused some frustration.
As for the wedding, the planner was extremely unhelpful. I had sent multiple emails with a detailed sheet for the wedding vows we wanted to say, as my husband has a speech disability, and some words are difficult for him. Even though the planner had the sheet, when it came time for the ceremony, they only made me repeat the vows we made and not my husband. Instead, he was asked to say something else entirely, which completely ruined the experience for him. I ended up having to coordinate everything on the day of the wedding, while the staff mostly stood around. The transitions were not smooth, and the entire experience was far from what we had hoped for.
To make matters worse, the resort had a pre-planned beach show with loud fire dancers starting at 8 PM. This disrupted our wedding, as the resort guests essentially crashed the event. The noise and chaos ruined the romantic ambiance, and I ended up in tears.
Our room upgrade also fell short of expectations. The outdoor tub was broken, and despite promises of outdoor beds, the staff denied ever mentioning them. The resort itself felt more suited for families or older guests. The disco was another letdown, with only one bartender who made drinks incredibly slowly, and stunk like throw up the entire two weeks.
Overall, we were disappointed with the entire experience, especially for such an important event like our wedding.

This is a great resort between Cancun and Tulum, Mexico. It has beautiful views and the staff could not be more friendly - they always speak to you like they know you well. The food was a bit hit and miss, but when you find what you enjoy, it couldn’t be better! The tacos were always really good.
It is also a great location for day trips. We went to Isla Mujeres (Island of the Women), which is a 2 hour drive and then a wonderful boat trip. We also went to Río Secreto, which means Secret River - you go swimming in a river that was only discovered in 2006! You are also surrounded by Mayan ruins only 25km away in Tulum - just ask everyone will be happy to help. The all-inclusive at this hotel was wonderful: the drinks are excellent compared to other all-inclusives. You can also drive Golf buggies around Puerto Aventuras and leave the hotel - even kids can drive it! You can rent it for 4, 6 or 8 hours. We rented it for 4 hours for 60 USD. There is also a kids club (Explorer’s Club) for the little ones. There are always lots of activities going on and there is a guide in the lifts and in different places around the resort. From Marina walking, to cycling, to karaoke, there is something for everyone. Loads of alcohol free drinks too!
The staff all work above and beyond to create the best experience as guests. There’s an amazing saltwater pool nearby the Central Beach.
However, one of the few regrets I have is that there is no fresh juices. Every time you get a juice, it is a squash of some sort - the orange juice is actually just orange squash.
We saw lots of iguanas and animals we haven’t seen before in the UK. Only 1 hr 15 min drive from Cancun Airport. Amstar is a great company to get transfers with. Although the food can seem a bit hit and miss at first, there are lots of different restaurants: Oceania (Seafood), Portofino (Italian), Gohan (Asian) and more. This resort deserves nothing less than a 5 star rating. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I have.

This depends on what you want from a place. This was more hotel than resort. And kids were everywhere, including at the pool bar at the Preferred Club pool - and I mean sitting at the bar, jumping on giant "floaties". Food was ok. The staff was excellent. The hotel lost water on Saturday afternoon, during the prime getting ready for dinner hours. There is no real beach, and what beach is there appears to be a man made beach with concrete under the sand.

Stayed here for 4 days and here are my thoughts. Good: the rooms were great. Staff: absolutely amazing! So freaking helpful, nice, and so many of them. We asked one of the front desk people for advice on a beach club to go to in playa del Carmen and it was the best recommendation. Clean: so clean! The towels, chairs, trash were always getting cleaned up and you never saw anything a moss. The room was so clean, hallways, tables, etc. all clean. Location: it’s pretty far from Cancun but we loved playa del Carmen for a day trip. Tulum was absolutely fabulous, and chichen itza is far no matter where you stay. The only complaint I had was the “beach” access at the resort was a little enclosed area so you don’t have big waves and rocks. But it’s not deep at all and I didn’t love that. But I think that’s just me. I think for little kids or people that don’t really like to swim would love that.
Food: was pretty meh. BUT I think that’s just how all inclusives are. That being said, it wasn’t bad at all. It was pretty good. Even had some really good dishes. Drinks were delish. And again the staff was just so amazing.
I don’t think I’d ever come back just because I like to shake things up. But if you’re looking into this place I had a great time. There was a ton to do like activites around the resort. And plenty of pools and places to hang out. I didn’t think it was over crowded either.
So all in all a great place. Great for families, couples, big family groups.
Oh the other thing was we had a gluten allergy friend with us and there weren’t. TON of options for her but they definitely had plenty of food options for her and were really good about making sure there wasn’t any gluten in her food.
Oh and it was in such a safe area! It’s in its own security town thing. I went out running alone outside of the resort and felt totally safe the entire time.
And I would definitely get the preferred package. It’s worth the extra cost. Just less to worry about and you have access to anything and everything the resort has to offer.

It's a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location. That's most of the nice things about it.
The building is old and our room, while nice, had a strong mold smell which I think I was allergic to. Being in the room was uncomfortable and unpleasant. so much so that our last night there I slept in the balcony!
This hotel is showing its age. It often felt crowded with nowhere to sit at the beach or at the pool. Annoying people would get up at the crack of dawn and "claim" their spot by placing a towel and then leaving it unattended for hours, preventing anyone else from using it. What jerks!
Most of the beach loungers were old and broken.
The beach was nice but kind of small and the lagoon was pretty rocky. The nightly shows were fun and entertaining.
The "exclusive" areas were just as crowded and annoying.
We really enjoyed the spa. That place is magical, although their hydrotherapy is kind of lame compared to other places. I did receive one of the best massages I've ever had there.
Drinks were also a highlight, very good margaritas.
Their main strength is their staff, everyone we came in contact with was excellent and made us feel welcome.
Overall I'll be sure to avoid the brand in the future.

Wonderful stay!! Great food and ambience. Rooms were clean and well equipped. We were very well looked after. Must mention the wonderful 'Tom & Jerry' (Maria) in the breakfast lounge. Their warmth made the morning extra special. Loved seeing Luigi Estrada( Michael Jackson impersonator) and his troop perform. It was a surprise for us, really amazing.

Here is an honest review.
Stayed here with my family with 2 kids.
This resort is good for families with children. Your kids will have a blast, especially at the kids water park and big slides. However if you are traveling without kids, you may want to consider another resort, unless you are booking here because you found a great price. This resort is very busy, and swarming with little ones.
The rooms are quite outdated and you can expect to complain about something unless you are lucky to get a room with no issues. As for me, my mini fridge and lock safe were not working but once we reported the issues they were resolved same day. If you need to call reception from your room, they almost never answer the phone which can be frustrating. But I imagine this may be because of the high number of guests and outdated rooms which results in tons of calls and they cannot answer them all.
The lunch/dinner buffet food quality/selection is not the greatest but also not the worst and I was always able to fill my plate with some options that I enjoyed. Your kids will have no complaints about the food as they provide everything that kids love to eat. Breakfast buffet is actually great and provides everything you would expect. A la carte restaurants are also quite good and I have no complaints other than you need to book them each morning at 8am. They have 2 snack bars near the pools. No complaints about drinks.
Service is very good as I only encountered friendly and hard working service all week. The nightly shows were very entertaining.
One thing you will find frustrating is that lounge chairs get reserved by guests very early in the morning. If you want a chance at having a lounge chair you will need to place your towel on a chair by 7am max. If you want a lounge chair under shaded spot, those get fully booked by around 6am and sometimes earlier. It would make sense if this resort could enforce a rule that booking lounge chairs is not allowed.
In summary, if you are travelling with kids and if their enjoyment is a priority, then go ahead and book this resort. The fun they have will be worth the few small complaints the parents may have.
If no kids, then you may want to keep looking for a more relaxing or upscale resort, if thats what you are looking for. As for me and my family, we enjoyed our week here and have no regrets in booking this resort. We appreciate all the hard working and friendly staff in this resort.

Kids paradise was such. Great experience for my 3 boys!!! It allowed my 4 year old to party in the pool and then get a break in the shade and watch a show or crafts! The kids paradises pool/splash parks and slides were awesome! Love its!

When checking in, be sure to get tips about reserving tables for any of the specialty restaurants, and for airport transportation for your departure. We had a great time and are already talking about coming back again. The vibe here is very family oriented. We didn't have any children with us, so we took advantage of several adult only events and activities. As long as you don't mind sharing the restaurants and big pool with kids, couples should enjoy it here.
All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Be sure to come down to the pool when Estrella is there offering Yoga. It's the perfect way to start the day and she's so kind and accommodating to all levels. Namaste girl!
Oliver at Wayne's Boots was our favorite waiter. Every single food service team member was attentive and helpful and the bartenders by the big pool were so much fun! I need gluten free options and found plenty to eat. Some staff were more knowledgeable than others about what I needed, but if you ask and they don't know they will find someone for you who does.
The entertainment and events staff were amazing of course. They put so much heart into their work and it shows.
By the time you're heading home you feel like you've made a dozen or more new friends. It's clear that many of the staff have been with the resort for a long time. I witnessed several interactions between staff and returning guests. You can tell those relationships make the difference!

We recently stayed at Dreams Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa to celebrate our anniversary, and it was a truly beautiful and romantic experience that exceeded expectations in many ways.
From the moment we checked in, the service felt personal and thoughtful. The front desk team welcomed us with warmth and genuine kindness, and even upgraded us to a beautiful romantic room, decorated just right for the occasion. I wish I had caught the name of the wonderful gentleman who checked us in—his care truly set the tone for our stay.
Every night, the resort hosted high-quality performances that were far more than just typical resort shows. They had a clear artistic and cultural direction, meant to introduce guests to different aspects of global traditions through music, dance, and storytelling. These nightly events became one of our favorite parts of the stay—elegant, thoughtful, and inspiring.
The Kids Club staff were incredible. Fun, engaging, and caring, they created a space where kids could truly enjoy themselves, allowing parents like us to unwind with peace of mind. Our child didn’t want to leave!
Dining overall was fantastic—every restaurant was beautifully designed and the food was great across the board… except for Himachi, the Japanese restaurant. Unfortunately, the cuisine there felt far from authentic and didn’t meet the same standard as the other dining options. That one needs a bit of a refresh.
The pool and outdoor team were another highlight. Special shoutouts to:
Jesus, the outdoor organizer, who was always full of great energy,
Omer, the professional and attentive supervisor,
and Miguel, the main pool bartender, who made each drink with great vibes and perfect hospitality.
These guys were absolute stars and made our days by the pool even better.
Now for a couple of small critiques:
The Lost & Found team felt dismissive and unhelpful when we inquired about a misplaced item. It was the only time we felt the service dropped below the otherwise amazing standard.
The main buffet restaurant, while fine in function, lacked the design and ambiance you’d expect in a resort this beautiful. It could use a bit of a facelift to match the elegance elsewhere.
Despite these small points, our overall experience was nothing short of amazing. The beauty, service, performances, and atmosphere made our anniversary truly special.
We left with full hearts, great memories, and a plan to return again.

This was our kids first trip to Mexico to an all inclusive resort. We all had a blast, all of the staff were very kind, patient and attentive. The food was great, but I particularly enjoyed the tortilla soup. The drinks were about what one would expect, overly sweet and watered down but in the heat they did the trick. The property and rooms were immaculate, they were constantly cleaning and doing maintenance. Finally the shows and entertainment were top notch. I particularly enjoyed the prehispanic and samba dance shows. I would definitely recommend Dreams Riviera Maya for families. It's a great resort, give it a shot for your next family trip.

This resort was perfect for my wife and 2 kids (ages 3.5 and 1).
From the second we arrived the service was impeccable. The grounds are meticulously kept and the staff are genuine, pleasant and professional. The resort offered 3 pools to accommodate the various stages of childhood and adult activity. The food from the buffet, to the cafe and pool side grill offered a wide range of options to please any palate. Our 3 year old loved the water park as did my wife and I. The depth of the pool was perfect as it allowed him a little freedom to explore (under our supervision), but was large enough for us to enjoy with him at times. We spent some sun downs at the beach bar where the kids played in the sand while I slow sipped tequila. I would also like to include that we arrived 5 hours prior to check in, but Fredy in the pool area ensured we had a wonderful time. While this situation may have been stressful, Fredy's hospitality made us feel right at home in the pool area, where we would eventually rent a cabana that became a mainstay for our vacation.

We are having the most wonderful time at the Dreams Riviera Cancun with our two kids 1 and 4 year olds. The staff has been amazing,
Abraham at the Seaside Grill was spectacular and made our trip feel so seamless and special and Aaron at preferred club went above and beyond to make this trip so special. My husband needed cough medicine and he had ordered it from a pharmacy and had it to us within the hour.
We stayed in room 2551 and had a wonderful view of the ocean and pool and the weddings.
We brought a sound machine because we knew it would be loud but also wanted the view and fun vibe from our balcony.
They brought us a twin bed for our 4 year old and a crib for the baby. Yoga was such a treat after traveling not realizing how much we needed a good stretch.
The pool bar and beach bar bartenders were fabulous. I do not drink much or often, every few days and they remembered my name and my order.
Cannot recommend enough!

For my first time traveling out of my Country and to an all inclusive resort, I couldn't have asked for a better first time experience! Once entering the resort it was nothing short of paradise! I've read many reviews before coming and none made me shy away from coming! Yes theres sea grass on the beach (they cleaned it daily) swam in the beautiful ocean anyways and it was so warm and beautiful! Our room was clean and gorgeous from the third floor. The cleaning staff were phenomenal and respected our wishes when leaving on the door if we wanted our room cleaned somedays or not. Never phoned us on days we didn't want our room cleaned, stocked the fridge right up and changed our sheets, replaced towels and cleaned on days we did want their services. Only tried two of the restaurants, the bruschetta and rodeo grill. Rodeo grill was the favourite but honestly ate at the buffet daily because we love ample choices! Also the wings at the beach restaurant were AMAZING! Espresso martinis were amazing! We went on two excursions set up through the hotel, The Tulum, cenote, food, and turtle snorkeling, and we did the animal Sanctuary. Both were interesting, loved the food in Tulum as it was authentic Mexican. I also did the spa treatment, it was the second day! I recommend doing massages early in case you get sunburnt! Our second last day we ventured to playa del carmen, a very interesting place, I recommend going with a local! Big shout out to all the workers there, whether cooks, pool cleaners, activity workers, house keepers and spa workers! An especially big thank you to Cynthia at the front desk, she assisted us multiple times with money exchanging and checking a friend into the resort! Another big thank you to Rafael at the front desk who also helped us with plenty of requests and money exchanges, he made our experience upon entering so stress free! Our BIGGEST THANK YOU and shout out is to the Bellhop Enrique!! Honestly the most down to earth guy and really looking out for us to have the best time possible! He took very good care of us and our guest and made sure we had anything we needed upon request! He is an outstanding host and Bellhop and I'm sad we didn't get the chance to say bye to him before we left! Thank you to all staff for our wonderful experience. The exotic animals, the views, the plants were so awesome to see!

This was my first all-inclusive and I am glad that I selected this place. Room service for cleaning and food included. My friends and I took the adults-only resort, although there is a sister resort that is family-friendly a few steps away, which I would assume is a perfect in-between for larger groups with different lifestyles. We stayed for four days. Amazing rooms. The star I left out is because I anticipated spending a lot of time at the beach (it is steps away from the resort) but there was too much algae to enjoy the water and the beach, so we spent all of our time at the pool, which is fine too. Just adjust your expectations in this regard. Some people swam on the family-friendly side, but we did not. The beach is fine to see the sunrise however. Nice entertainment and variety of foods. Not a lot of opportunities to eat local dishes unless you take a tour outside of the resort. I highly recommend the tour that brings you to a Mayan village, the Chichén Itza (one of the 7 World Wonders), swimming in a cenote, and a colonial-style colourful city. It was the highlight of my experience.
The team members were very kind and friendly. We used the spa and had massages, it was a lovely experience all in all. I highly recommend!

DO NOT BOOK – HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE
I booked my honeymoon at Platinum Yucatan Princess Resort in Cancun through Cheap Caribbean, and it was an absolute nightmare. We used the honeymoon package promo code, expecting the promised inclusions, but all we received was a bottle of champagne and four small dessert bites—nothing else was set up in the room.
The resort itself was dirty and poorly maintained. Many outdoor beds by the pool were closed for repairs and painting, leaving limited space to relax. The hallways were messy, our room had a horrible odor, and the bathroom had water damage with moldy buildup. We even had an ant problem that the front desk never resolved. On top of that, the bed only came with two pillows, and one of my pillowcases had old blood stains—disgusting.
The food and drinks were a disaster. At the taco station, staff handled raw meat without gloves, and only tap water was served at restaurants. The resort also did not provide straws, and the drinks were barely blended, full of huge ice chunks, making them nearly undrinkable.
Unfortunately, I learned the hard way just how unsafe the food was. After eating shrimp at the steakhouse on our first night, I became violently ill, vomiting uncontrollably for hours until I was hospitalized. The doctors diagnosed me with gastroenteritis and confirmed that the shrimp had likely caused the infection. My white blood cell count was dangerously high, and I was forced to pay $5,000 out of pocket for medical care.
When we brought this to the manager, he showed zero concern or accountability. Instead of apologizing, he blamed me and insisted that I must have gotten sick elsewhere—despite the fact that I had only eaten at the resort. He even witnessed me being taken away in an ambulance and still dismissed my experience.
And don’t be fooled by the photos online—they must be either extremely old or heavily photoshopped because this place looks nothing like the pictures. We got completely catfished by the marketing.
What was supposed to be a dream honeymoon turned into a nightmare. This resort is unsanitary, mismanaged, and does not care about guest safety. I strongly advise against booking here—Cheap Caribbean should reconsider promoting this place.
Save yourself the stress, money, and potential health risks—book elsewhere!

We stayed here for a week! It was a wonderful experience! All staffs were kind and friendly. Kudos to all your hardwork! The beach area was lovely, perfect place to chill and relax. Overall it was a good experience if you prefer a quiet place to stay.

This was such a wonderful resort, and we had an amazing time. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the rooms were very comfortable. We got the swim out room and I requested to be by the main pool. There is another pool where is was more quiet. It was fun to switch every day depending on our mood. The main pool was great, and the entertainment staff during the day were energetic, fun, and made our experience even better. There was a lot of seating and day beds! I would recommend the quiet pool, it’s a little more calm but it’s vacation, right? Our only minor issue was there wasn't drink or food service at the beach unless you go to the family side of the beach (we stayed at the adult only) it wasnt a big deal to walk there but we didn’t want to be around family’s on our adult only vacation. Now on to food and drinks….. The food was at the buffet was fantastic and I’m not a buffet kind of person, but I definitely preferred that over the room service. Everything at the buffet was fresh and they had so many options. I can’t complain about anything at the buffet. Hibachi restaurant stood out with the absolute best service and amazing food. The drinks were not watered down and used top shelf. Best expresso martini ive ever had.. In the main lobby, there’s a bar called welcome bar. The bartender was very friendly. We actually stayed there for about an hour as he made us all sorts of different drinks. I’ve never tried and they were all delicious. I forgot his name but he was a BLAST. We were laughing the entire time. They also had a lady come around taking professional pictures of us alone and with a pretty Toucan . I have those pictures printed they are great! Thanks you to all the staff!

Our stay at The Fives was amazing, especially thanks to the entertainment team. Edi made every activity fun and engaging, always bringing great energy and enthusiasm. The entertainment is definitely one of the hotel's highlights.
The Natural Café were a pleasant surprise, especially the coffee at the morning, which provided an outstanding drinks experience.
The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-equipped, perfect for relaxing after a day full of activities. However, we would have liked the minibar to be restocked more frequently. Also, the check-in process could have been a bit faster.
Overall, it was an incredible experience, and we will definitely return—especially for the entertainment that made our stay even more special. Thank you to the entire team and once again a shout out to Edi.

Such an epic hotel.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with amazing hospitality and that hospitality was throughout our whole trip. The staff were so friendly, everyone greets no matter where you are in the resort and the desire to help and provide service is shown by every member. Very calming element of the trip.
The hotel has all the amenities that you need for a relaxing stay. Different cuisine restaurants with high quality food on the menu (French, Mexican, Thai, Sushi, Buffet, etc). Spa. Beach. Lots of pools. Basketball court. Tennis court. Table Tennis. Different types of bars.
The entertainment was great too - good way to enjoy the evenings after you've indulged in the various cuisines.
A highlight was the mangrove forest in the middle of the resort which was stunning to walk through and saw different types of animals in there!! This resorts connection with nature is seen across the resort with amazing arrays of plants and tree showcased all over, making the resort very beautiful!
Would recommend if you want a relaxing holiday and do not want to leave a resort too much as you have most things on your door step!

I had my wedding here April 19, 2025. When I first started searching for locations to celebrate my big day, I came across the fives. I read previous reviews and I soon connected with a sales rep to further discuss pricing and inclusions. After our first conversation, my fiancé and I knew this was location for us. The process was very hands on, Valeria was our intital sales rep. She stayed in contact with us for months via teams, email and phone calls. 2 weeks prior to the wedding is when the magic happened. We were connected with Mar, and Max. Mar and Max was our wedding coordinators. Mar is extremely intelligent, extremely organized, thorough and she remembers the details. There were times I called Mar with extreme anxiety and needing support on navigating unexpected challenges. Mar stopped what she was doing, located me on the property spoke to me with kindness, solved the issue immediately even if it included adding upper level management, Juliana. They made sure I never lost focus on what was most important, they never allowed me to linger in any unexpected challenges (weather, shipments not arriving) . They worked last minute , and overtime whatever it took to get the job done. My wedding day was a dream, Max stayed with me. Max and team helped assemble my wedding dress. They made sure my dress was spread out correctly while I walked down the aisle. Max and Mar checked in with me throughout the stay, during the wedding and made sure my guest had the best experience. Planning a wedding can be extremely stressful if you don’t have the right team of people in your corner. I couldn’t have asked for a better team. I will remember this experience for the rest of my life. Thank you Julianna, for holding my hand before I walked down the aisle. Thank you for reminding me to breath and take in my moment. Mar and Max you are fairy wedding angels that sprinkled everything as close to perfection as it could get. You helped bring the dream wedding I always envisioned as a little girl to life. I had my Cinderella moment with you both at my side. This resort is gorgeous, the food deserves a Michelin star. I did wish their was a hip hop dance lounge, with more of a party vibe for adults..but none the less all my guests enjoyed their stay. I highly recommend this location, if anyone is looking to have a wedding.

We really enjoyed our stay overall, but we did have an unfortunate experience with the Italian restaurants on the property. On two separate occasions, we were bypassed multiple times while waiting to be seated. We gave the benefit of the doubt the first time and chalked it up as a simple oversight.
However, we were disappointed to find that the Mediterranean restaurant had been changed into yet another Italian restaurant. When we decided to try it out, we encountered the same host — and once again, we were passed over. We brought our concerns to the manager, but he wasn’t able to provide an explanation.
That said, the wait staff inside the restaurants were exceptional, and our experience with the shuttle driver, "Big Isaac," was the highlight of our trip. He made us feel like family and truly elevated our stay. Despite the seating issues, we would definitely come back!

My friend and I had the most amazing time at The Fives Resort in Playa del Carmen! The resort is absolutely gorgeous, with breathtaking views, delicious food, and exceptional service. Every part of our stay was fantastic, but one thing that truly stood out was the dance classes with Edi!
Edi is simply the best—his energy is contagious, he’s incredibly personable, and he makes every class so much fun. He’s not just an amazing dancer but also a hardworking and dedicated instructor who makes everyone feel welcome and confident. My friend and I looked forward to his classes every day, and he made our trip even more special.
If you’re staying at The Fives, you HAVE to take a class with Edi! We can’t wait to come back and dance with him again!

This would be my third visit to Mexico and sixth resort of all the all inclusives I've been to. I've been to the Hyatt hotels in Europe as well.
But, unfortunately this is far from being a 5 star resort. At best it could be a 3 to 4 star mainly because the staff and some of the events/shows were great! Everything else - room, amenities, food, cleanliness, and overall location is pretty average.
Many have complained about the room and food at this resort, I can completely see why as our room which was 'preferred club' had cockroaches, peeling ceiling, broken drawers and fridge shelf. The lamps were also barely working, the bed creaked and there was a power outage on the last day of our stay!
The food area for the buffet wasn't the cleanest either and the selection was extremely limited. Interestingly enough for someone like me who travels to warmer climate for food (mangoes and coconuts) this was an ultimate disappointment. Neither of those two items were there. I was told I could buy a coconut for 12 USD.
Overall, value for money - negative.
Would I return to this Hyatt chain, probably not.

We just arrived from Dreams Sapphire resort and spa and i wanted to leave a review right away. It was my first time in Mexico and the resort exceeded my expectation. We stayed in the Indigo section, ocean front and it literally felt like paradise. The food was so delicious especially at the Mexican and Italian restaurants. I would also like to take this opportunity and thank all the workers who went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant. From the waiters at the buffet section (Ivan, Jose, Archie to name a few) to all the cleaners especially Clara who cleaned our room daily. Everyone is friendly and so welcoming. The beach is beautiful and the resort did their best to clean the seaweed. I can't recommend this resort enough. Thank you for making my family's first time in Mexico unforgettable. We'll definitely be back in the future.

I highly recommend staying in the Indigo section of the resort! Upon check-in, we were escorted to a separate area where champagne was waiting for us. Our room was incredible, with stunning ocean views and a bathtub. The best part of the Indigo experience was having access to the rooftop, which featured a pool, swim-up bar, and sushi bar (with other bites available, too). The pool was never crowded, making it much more relaxing than the rest of the resort. We also enjoyed a couples massage followed by a water therapy session, and it was absolutely divine. The entire staff was incredibly kind and provided prompt service throughout our stay.

Wife and I recently stayed at this resort and was blown away by the experience from start to finish. The rooms were absolutely stunning—spacious, beautifully designed, and the shower was next-level incredible. You can tell they paid attention to every detail when it came to comfort and luxury.
The grounds were meticulously maintained and just gorgeous. Even though the resort was at 80% capacity during our stay, it never felt crowded. There was always a sense of peace and space, which made it incredibly relaxing.
Now let’s talk about the food—out of this world! Every meal we had was exceptional, with a wide variety of delicious options that were clearly prepared with care and creativity. And the best part? We never had to wait for drinks. The staff was attentive and friendly, always making sure our glasses were full.
This resort truly sets the bar high. Can’t wait to return!

Beautiful resort, fabulous hospitality. Every staff amazingly welcoming, kind, friendly and cheerful. Super clean, wonderful food and drinks, great variety and quality. Entertainment crew did an excellent job every day and night energizing guests to come and all of the activities we came to were great. The spa is wonderful, we had massages and the water therapy.
The Pools were lovely. We did not find them cold as a previous guest noted. But it was warm when we were there. Sunshine everyday! Very Highly recommend.

Loved this resort! Food was AMAZING and everyone was super nice. My husband and I had a king beachfront private pool and it was the nicest room we've ever stayed at. The resort does a really good job with daytime and nighttime entertainment. Very clean resort with beautiful grounds. Only thing I didn't like was the main pool was freezing cold like ice water. Not heated like some other resorts.

My stay at Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya – Adults Only was without a doubt the worst experience of my entire life. If you care even slightly about being treated with basic respect and dignity: stay far away from this hotel.
Well before my arrival, I emailed Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya directly, clearly stating that I have a medical condition and that I urgently need a quiet room to be able to get good sleep. Upon check-in, I personally repeated my request at the front desk. The receptionist assured me it would be handled.
What happened?
They gave us a room located right above a busy area where we could hear every single footstep, every conversation, and even someone knocking on our door. We immediately called the reception, begging to be moved — but no one called us back. I then walked down to the front desk myself, where a staff member (possibly a concierge) laughed in my face when I explained my situation and told him that I had suffered a brain hemorrhage. Only when I broke down and started crying did he decide to “help.”
We were eventually moved to another room, but it was still noisy, and they failed to mention that there was a wedding event happening at the hotel, which made it absolutely impossible to rest.
It got even worse:
• At 7:00 AM, we were woken up by the hotel phone twice, disrupting the little sleep I had managed to get.
• Right after that, housekeeping was making an incredible amount of noise, cleaning dishes and trays in the hallway.
• At the beach, we had to get our own towels and could only order alcohol — no water, no sodas — unless you walked all the way back to the bar yourself.
• The Japanese restaurant on-site served the worst sushi I have ever eaten. The tuna was impossible to chew, and the food was absolutely unacceptable.
I informed the hotel that we wanted to leave immediately. We even offered to pay for the first night and just be refunded for the remaining nights. Booking.com was ready to assist us and fully understood the urgency of my medical condition. They tried to mediate, but Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya refused to cooperate in any way. No empathy, no solutions, just cold indifference.
In summary:
• Medical condition completely ignored
• Staff mocked my situation
• Noisy hotel, impossible to get proper rest
• Terrible food and service
• No respect, no compassion
• Complete lack of professionalism
This hotel is not only a total disgrace to the Hyatt brand — it is dangerous for anyone who expects peace, care, and basic human decency. You should be absolutely ashamed.
DO NOT STAY AT HYATT ZILARA RIVIERA MAYA.

My husband and I recently spent a week at the Hyatt Zilara-Riviera Maya. We chose this resort because the reviews consistently said the service was good. Even knowing to expect a good time, our experience here completely surpassed our expectations.
From check-in to check-out we received phenomenal service. Every employee we came across did their best to make sure we had everything we needed or wanted, with many staff members going above and beyond.
We tried every restaurant and the food was excellent. Drinks were well-made and delivered to wherever we happened to be. Cabana rentals were a decent price and there was plenty of seating/loungers at the pool and on the beach, nothing felt crowded. It isn’t the newest facility but everything was clean and well-maintained. Activities were available all day with varied entertainment options each night.
Shoutout to a few employees who made our trip better than we could have hoped. Marcial (check-in desk), Alejandro and Miguel (pool/beach service), Magdalena (snack bar), Miguel (waiter at Tempest), and Fernan (entertainment).
Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

I had a fantastic time at Margaritaville! The food was delicious — especially the nachos and margaritas (they definitely live up to the hype). The atmosphere was super fun and laid-back, like being on a tropical vacation without needing a passport.
The service was top-notch. Staff were friendly, helpful, and made sure everyone was having a good time. There was always something going on, from live music to games and karaoke — lots of energy and entertainment without feeling overwhelming.
My only small complaint is that there’s no beach. I expected a little sand and maybe some waves, but it’s more of a resort vibe with pools and palm trees. Still, it was so enjoyable that I hardly missed it.

Had our annual trip with my college friends here. The service was exceptional.. Issac our butler top notch! Luis and Israel at JWB steakhouse were excellent. Reyes out pool server went above and beyond when I ordered my special drink to find the ingredients. Overall we were treated like queens and could not have asked for a better place to reunite! We had an amazing time at Margaritaville! The resort and our room were spotless, clean and well-decorated. The staff were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. There were plenty of delicious food options available throughout the day and night, catering to all tastes. The entertainment team did a fantastic job organizing fun activities, ensuring there was always something enjoyable to do. And of course, the drinks were top-notch! The only downside is that there is no sand beach in front of the resort. Other than that a fantastic experience.

I'm staying at the resort with my boyfriend for 10 nights. After a 12-hour flight, we were given a very warm welcome at the hotel. What we particularly liked about the hotel was the selection of restaurants and in the boathouse in particular, we had super friendly waiters. Marcelo and Jaime in particular always had a smile and witty sayings ready. Of course, there was no shortage of tequila here either. There is currently no sandy beach and no access to the sea either, as it was destroyed by a storm. But that's not a problem because of the 2 beautiful pools. If we come to Mexico again, we would definitely book the hotel again.

We stayed 6 nights at Dreams Vista & Golf with a business/ pleasure trip.
Excellent:
Views from every class of room category are perfect. You can see the ocean, beach, sunrise and golf course.
Service including restaurants, room service were on time and staff was very friendly.
Good:
The restaurants were overall pretty good. Nothing overly memorable but lots of options. During the day they had a bbq going around the pool, standard lunch buffet and a taco, burger and sushi outdoor restaurant which was very popular.
The Steakhouse (Preferred Only) was actually our least favourite but had fantastic views.
Other Notes:
Beach was smaller in size but they did have a crew removing seaweed every day, keeping it pretty clean. Most of the beach, deck area on the waterfront was for preferred members only.
Preferred upgrade was well worth the money, adding the rooftop pool, section on beach and additional restaurants.
Checkout we had an additional charge for some spa service but was ratified after a short discussion. Reminder to check your invoice before you pay.
Overall I would recommend this resort for families and couples.

After reading a bunch of reviews running down the food and other aspects of this resort, I was pretty close to changing my reservation.
I'm glad I didn't, the food options were all pretty great, even the pool food compared to most resorts is top notch.
The resort feels brand new, for example most public restrooms are immaculate. To others' opinions, there is the whole premium aspect for certain amenities, something to be aware of.
Lastly the layout of the resort is a bit weird and causes the pool to be completely under shade by 4 or so in the afternoon. The pool could also be warmer.

Our stay had some minor inconveniences that started to add up, and I initially left an unhappy review. However, the head concierge, Carlos, reached out the next day and went above and beyond to improve our experience. He listened patiently to our concerns and took meaningful steps to make our final day fantastic. His attentiveness and dedication to guest satisfaction were greatly appreciated.
Overall, the rooms were fantastic, and the staff and service were excellent. The kids’ playroom was the best we’ve seen at any resort. I (dad) loved the surf pool, my daughter enjoyed the pools, beach, playroom, and mime show, and my wife loved the pools, beach access, and our beautiful room.
A few things to be aware of:
• The club’s bass was audible in our 5th-floor room at night, making sleep difficult. We didn’t ask to switch rooms, but it’s something to consider for light sleepers.
• As with most resorts, guests save lounge chairs early in the morning and leave them unattended for hours, making shady spots scarce.
• The food was very hit or miss—some offerings were quite bad, most were just okay, and a few things (like the taco bar and Mexican restaurant) were very good. Nothing was excellent.
• On windy days, there was an occasional sewage smell blowing in from the inland side, though we only noticed it on our first two days.
While our experience started off rocky, the concierge team’s quick response made a big difference. Their commitment to guest satisfaction is why I’ve updated my rating to four stars.

I would give this resort a 4.4 out of 5. It is a very nice resort, super clean rooms. The service is adequate (some people were very servicing, some not too much) - The food is hit or miss. Some restaurants were great, some were mediocre. Beach is tiny with rocky entrance. If you are planning to play golf, I highly recommend the course. I can see myself coming back. Shout out to Alvin the Beach Concierge.

We stayed there from Feb 11th-18th, 2025, two families, which one family had two kids.
Acquired the all inclusive package from Sunwing Vacation (flight, hotel & transfer).
I would give this hotel 3 stars, these stars are because of high level of cleanliness in the entire hotel, view from room balcony & Nesperso machine in the room. Small resort which all the facilities were gathered in one single building so it’s easy to move around and back and forth to room while you have kids.
About rooms: our room had two twin size beds for two adults and two kids, room was small that no table or chair could be fit in the room. No place to sit in the room. We loved the view from room balcony, because of the building architectural settings all the rooms have ocean view.
This resort sets nonsense rules by itself and they enforce them which makes the hotel nothing like other all inclusive peers. It was really felt that they strongly want to control everything you eat/drink.
They don’t serve hard liquor in the rooms!!! Only beer and soft drinks and bottled water!!!!
They charge you for serving tequila in the rooms!!!
You have to pay to get tequila or hard liquor in the room, however you already paid as all inclusive.
The drinks that they serve in the bars are mostly sugar and watery mixtures. We didn’t like the drinks.
We used room service 4 times, the only clawback was that the portion of foods were so so small.
We had no access to roof top pool and bar as we had to pay for them as an extra. Same no access to Vista restaurant/bar and Bluewater Grill. Already paid almost $3000 per adult and we were not willing to pay any more.
The night shows entertained kids.
Kids spent couple of hours in kids’ core zone with games and an hour in water park.
Food: good for sea food lovers.

I recently spent a unique holiday in one of the best hotels in Mexico, and it was a real paradise! From the moment we arrived, we felt the atmosphere of luxury and hospitality: the staff greeted us with welcome cocktails, the check-in was quick and formal. Our room was very spacious. A huge bed, a jacuzzi on the terrace and a minibar, which was replenished daily, made our stay especially comfortable. The food at the hotel is beyond praise: the restaurant offered Mexican, Asian, Mediterranean and international cuisine. The fresh seafood and signature cocktails in the pool were especially memorable. The hotel itself is surrounded by greenery, with luxurious pools, a private beach with white sand and a spa complex. We enjoyed treatments with aromatic oils and massages to the sounds of the ocean - complete relaxation! This holiday was a dream come true: the perfect combination of comfort, service and the atmosphere of a tropical paradise. I will definitely come back here again!

The room cleaning staff provided excellent service, I could not say too much about them. All staff was very pleasant and nice to deal with.
Hats off to Francesco, our server at the buffet, he had fresh drinks to us as soon as the glass emptied and plates were always cleared.
The grounds were well maintained, but there was a soiled tissue on the floor of the elevator that remained untouched all week.
And a dirty cup was left on the stairs around Tuesday and when we left on Sunday morning it was still there. So the property cleaners could do better.
Don't try to get a coffee before 7 , and even then you had to go to the buffet to get it.
The evening entertainment was rudimentary at best , great for kids but lacking for adults.
Most surprising was when I looked at the room service menu and saw a bottle of tequila that I drink at home was available for $120 US when I can buy it at the LCBO at home for $46 CDN.
Beach was ok but the ocean was so rocky that I broke toe nails and bruised my feet.
Only went in once because just not enjoyable

Took a last minute (booked the night before through Sunwing) to this resort. Beautiful property and well maintained. The staff was friendly and the food was average. Overall a nice resort and great week away with our family.
The only issue was moving rooms 3 times and no A/C but that didn't stop pur fun. Pools were nice.

It was a blast staying here for a week. We went here with Sunwing vacations. No complaints with Sunwing, it was a smooth plane ride, the airport transfers were also great.
Once you book with Sunwing, they will let you know the aiport transfers 2 days before the flight. The only thing that we found that can be improved upon was vegetarian food options.
We booked the all inclusive package, so if you like drinks, you will be in heaven.
Overall, the resort was amazing and we will go again!

Apart from that, we had Francisco de Asis as our waiter every morning for breakfast at Snack Riviera. We had been to other locations around the Caribbean, but never Mexico/Cancun.
We had the impression that Cancun was more for the co-ed college crowd, but this resort came recommended.
We really loved our stay.
It is definitely family friendly, but the vibe IS NOT cheesy character/ gimmicky kid centric. It’s family friendly in that kids are welcome, and there are kids activities, but it is still very relaxing and comfortable for adults.
The resort was SPOTLESS. Very clean. Gardens were impeccably kept.
The service was excellent. Everyone was friendly, and went above and beyond.
There are reviews about waiting for dinner seating—-We honestly never waited. I don’t know if the time of year matters? We were there the third week of April.
The food was good. The food and dining experience at the more fine dining French restaurant was honestly A+ on par with our experience at self described fine French restaurants in Boston, where we are from. The Mexican breakfast offerings at Maris were super. The rest of the restaurants were A minus - B plus. Our children honestly loved the unlimited room service, and would order basically a second dinner every night LOL. The room service cheeseburgers were SUPER good. The poor reviews about the food were 100% not true in our experience.
The pools and beach were excellent. The pool was the perfect temperature. The waiters for the pool/beachside drinks were very attentive. If we ordered drinks every time offered, we would definitely not be able to walk at the end of the day. LOL. I never saw a drink menu, but they had no difficulty bringing anything we ordered.
The beach was also clean/ spotless. There were decent waves, but nothing crazy.
We chose a junior ocean view suite, and we chose the preferred club.
Our children are on the younger side (12, 9, 7). We are tight knit, so it was fine for us. It was a decent value, honestly, but for older kids who need more space, you might want to splurge on a larger room. The view was beautiful. We were really only in the room to sleep.
There are some negative reviews about the Preferred club. I honestly disagree. The staff in the Preferred Club lounge were extremely friendly, helpful, and warm. The heavy snacks, and drinks were excellent. The calm vibe in the lounge were all great. We were able to get a Bali Bed every day, and it was a super nice benefit.
The evening entertainment was kind of cheesy, but our kids liked it, and the drinks were good and plentiful- so - no complaints …..the “fun” staff- like the Zumba and other activity instructors were fun/nice, etc.
All in all we had a terrific time, and would recommend it. We will likely be back in a few years.

So, my wife is big on reviews. She saw a few bad ones mixed in with the others and almost moved us to a different spot. Complaints about food, staff, grounds, etc. Well, I am glad she didn’t. This resort is beautiful and the grounds are impeccable. The rooms are nice and the staff took great care of us.
Buffet food was on par but the restaurant options were delicious. Very good food for a resort. Some complained about wait times but we didn’t experience that at all. We got a table right away for every meal.
The resort is kid friendly, not kiddie. Lots of activities for all age group to do. If you want a poolside bed, be prepared to get up early. The beach is very pretty but not the best beach I’ve ever been to like others have mentioned. There were several weddings during our visit. There was music during but nothing too loud or bothersome.
I did play the golf course too. It’s in great shape with firm, fast fairways. The greens roll so true as well. Overall, you should enjoy your experience. Good vacationing!!!

Loved everything about this resort except the food. The rooms are very large and nice, and I got the basic garden view room. The staff were all very nice and always willing to help. Pool service was great. The pools are amazing. Food is lacking. The buffet is only good for breakfast. Went to the dinner buffet twice and it was hard to find anything good. Ate lots of chips and guac and french fries. I did get a reservation at the Habachi one night and that was the best meal of the week.

A very nice resort on a good stretch of beach but I would NOT recommend booking a stay here as of spring 2025 solely based on the food service. Dinner Reservations are not accepted and only 3 restaurants plus the buffet are open each evening- this resulted in 1-2 hour waits to be seated for dinner. Once seated a meal still took 1.5-2 hours with extremely slow service. They have to be very understaffed and majority of the staff seems unhappy. Food is just decent once you get it.
Things we enjoyed:
-the pools
-kids loved swim up bars for frozen drinks
-That’s a Wrap for lunch most days
-the resort never felt overly crowded (which is why it’s surprising dinner waits were so crazy)
-the beach was good - took the sailboat out a couple times and saw sea turtles
-entertainment (kids loved the daily games and the evening shows)
- our poolside waiter, Fernando, was great everyday
- our best dinner was at Fusion with our waiter German
-Jonathan at the restaurants was helpful in figuring out a solution for our wait times
-Secrets spa (bring a bathing suit for the hydra-pools)
Hopefully they can figure out dining because it is a beautiful place.

While rooms and location is good. Two major flaws: (1) The food scene is mediocre. Very limited restaurants open for breakfast and lunch outside the buffet. Then the buffet has extremely mediocre options when it comes to food. For dinner they don’t allow reservation and say you have to walk up - but then get slammed with 2 hour waits and end back up in the mediocre buffet. All the bars are inadequately staffed so you wait a long time for drinks etc. when seated at dinner - th waiters take 10-15 mins to show up (see photo of most of family departed Trea Colores as we waited 15 mins before being served water). Also they advertise you can go to Secrets to eat, but guess what - your kids are not allowed. Plan on your kids getting super frustrated as you wait. (2) The advertising seems to suggest that there are all the amenities- but things like the lazy river are off access unless you’re a preferred member. So are many sections of the property.
All and all - definitely not worth the price IMO.

Biggest regret of the trip. Room was nearly $1000/night — totally not worth it.
Food was terrible. We tried Nebbiolo (Italian restaurant) — mussels were tiny and smelled bad, clams had no meat, fish was fishy. Couldn’t finish anything.
Room service was no better — shrimp tacos were over-fried, soup was too salty, and the sausage on the pizza didn’t taste fresh.
We ended up ordering McDonald’s and Japanese ramen (not instant noodles) at midnight just to eat something decent.
From the moment we entered, it felt off — the lobby starts with a staircase, and even just walking around inside or outside, everything felt old and worn down.
Room had a broken faucet, peeling furniture, and no hot water.
Beach was narrow, full of seaweed, and poorly maintained. Plastic lounge chairs were uncomfortable.
I tried to check out early, and one staff member actually gave me a hard time — even said she didn’t care what kind of review I write.
Well, here’s the review. From her tone alone, I could feel how little they value guests — and I had booked one of their top suites.
We left the next day and moved to another hotel called EDITION which is much much better. Would absolutely not recommend — especially if you care about food, comfort, or basic respect.

Our stay at Secrets The Vine Cancun was absolutely fantastic! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and cared for by the incredible staff. A special shout-out to Allen and Miguel from the entertainment team – they were so much fun and did a phenomenal job keeping us engaged in the activities. Whether it was poolside games or evening events, they made every experience lively and memorable.
The service throughout the resort was excellent. Everyone we encountered, from the wait staff to the housekeeping team, was friendly, attentive, and helpful, always making sure we had everything we needed. The resort itself was very clean, and it was clear that cleanliness is a top priority here.
The food was also a highlight, with plenty of delicious options to choose from. Our favorite spot was the Sea Salt Grill.
In the evenings, there was always something fun going on, with a great variety of entertainment to keep things interesting. We loved the mix of live music, shows, and themed events, which really added to the overall experience.
Overall, Secrets The Vine Cancun was a perfect blend of relaxation, fun, and luxury.

We have stayed at this hotel before and have always had a wonderful experience. As usual, the food and service were excellent, and the staff was attentive and professional. However, during this stay, we did encounter a couple of issues that were disappointing.
First, the ceiling in the toilet area of our room developed a leak. Thankfully, the butler quickly arranged for us to be moved to a new room. Unfortunately, the mattress in the new room was extremely uncomfortable, but once again, the butler took care of the issue by having it replaced. While we appreciated the prompt attention to these problems, dealing with them over the first two days of our stay was not ideal.
Additionally, we were celebrating our birthdays during this trip. Aside from a banner on the door, there were no extra touches to acknowledge the occasion—not even a small upgrade after the inconveniences we experienced. Given the hotel’s reputation for exceptional service, this left us a bit disappointed.
Overall, we still enjoyed our stay, but we expected a bit more in terms of attention to detail, especially considering our past experiences here. We’ll likely return, but we hope for a smoother experience next time.

Exceptional Service, Bruce my concierge went above and beyond for my special baby moon and I’m thankful for the great service we had at Secrets. Not as big as some of the other resorts, very laid back and relaxing. Would highly recommend for anyone not looking for a 24/7 party scene. Additionally, the treatment here is close to Diamond. They remember you, and it certainly shows. Lots of local shops nearby. Would also recommend you check out the massage place right outside the resort - take an immediate right and it’s across the street on your left. Pricing was half the price of the resorts and had an incredible couples massage that included a pre-natal (something the resort didn’t offer unfortunately otherwise I would of used the spa on-site)
Great job also to the front desk staff along with the VIP individual Marco who assisted with extending me an additional night at a phenomenal price. Thank you all for your exceptional service, keep up the great work!

We were greeted promptly upon arrival and taken to the 21st floor to check in since we had a Preferred Club room. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We loved the romantic breakfast on our balcony. However, we didn't use the Preferred Club amenities/perks like we'd anticipated. Therefore, I wouldn't advise anyone to book this type of room. We could've really just booked an ocean view room because we spent most of our time out by the beach. Our favorite food was at Sea Salt Grill. The short rib, chorrillana fish, and Brazos Gitano dessert were so good. We ate there more than one night. This is not a resort for party people. We found it to be more of a relaxed crowd and environment. There was nightly entertainment, but we didn't see many people attending it. Before we arrived, I'd read reviews about a weird smell in the lobby, and I agree. I think they are trying to mask it with another scent, but you can still smell the sewage-like smell in various areas of the lobby. I know that some people don't like wristbands, but I think they'd make it easier for guests to enter and exit the beach and restaurants without having to give your room number/name.

Spent a week at the Hard Rock Riviera Maya. Traveling with my family including 2 kids (8 & 10). We had an excellent time. The resort was beautiful. Beach was nicer than other resorts we have stayed at in the Cancun area. There was so much to do. With the excellent service and assistance from our Butlers Moises and Paola, we had the best seats at every dinner and show. They helped us navigate our daily plans, reserved relaxing pool and beach spots for us every day and made recommendations whenever requested. We will be back!

I like to rate experiences that are in the top or bottom 5% only. This visit to Hard Rock Riviera Maya was an absolute surprise. With it being all inclusive AND Spring Break, I expected dirty cups, bottles and the like scattered throughout the premises. On the contrary, the grounds were kept immaculately, everything was cleaned every day and throughout the day, and the place was beautiful and spotless. I will return at some point to revisit all the friends I made amongst the staff, and to enjoy the very functional and beautiful grounds.
EVERY interaction with all employees was greeted with a smile and “Hola”. Special recognition goes out to Hugo at the front desk, the sommelier at Toro, Sam in Housekeeping, and especially David Alvarez poolside. David was incredible and deserves huge accolades.
The food was average I suppose for such a venue, but all in all the experience was fantastic. Keep up the good work!

This was our second time at the property, and once again, we were welcomed with warmth, kindness, and positivity, hallmarks of the incredible staff here.
Check-in was smooth and fast, and we were introduced to our amazing concierge, Jescan, who showed us the property map and all the new changes.
The food was great overall, and we appreciated that premium liquors were available to all guests, regardless of their membership tier.

Spent 10 days at the Hard Rock Riviera Maya in February. We have been to 15+ all inclusive resorts and found this HR to have the nicest grounds/beaches we have experienced. We would walk the entire grounds daily and enjoyed the pristine landscaping and lagoons areas that served as the beach. Drink & food are readily available throughout the resort. The restaurants were good.....we had some excellent meals and a few misses. No real issue getting into the restaurants unless you come at 7PM....which is peak time and usually will have a decent wait time.
The rooms are tighter than we are use to. We had more luggage due to our longer stay and the 3 drawers/5 hangers did not meet our needs. The house keeping was not consistent as we had to call for service multiple times. There were no hand towels or face clothes on multiple days. The last 2 days, our room experienced a sewer odor coming from the shower drain. Maintenance came but spraying a deodorizer did not solve the issue!
The service at the restaurants were good. We enjoyed Faro daily for either breakfast or lunch or both some days. The Manager Maria and her team treated us very well and we appreciated the great service and food. Zen was also very good on all levels.
We enjoyed our vacation at the Hard Rock, but feel Management could make efforts to make the customer experience even better. Inconsistent quality at the Al-a-Carte Restaurants. The consistency of the housekeeping. General maintenance of the rooms/buildings needs attention.
From a health perspective, placing used drink glasses into a tub of water for a quick rinse does not provide the level of sanitation that is reasonable. I returned home to a bad cold/flu that likely came from using these unclean drink glasses at the beach/pool areas. Bring a GO CUP for your drinks!!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pickle ball courts were great and equipment solid to use. Unfortunately, there were several packs of high school boys in spring break. They were poorly behaved and noisy. I went to customer relations as they kept us up our first three night well passed 2 am. The guest relations stated they had other complaints and the room number and were aware of poor behaviour,”but were not responsible for the behavior of the guests” I asked even it has infringed on the experience and safety of the other guests, I have 3 daughters. They reiterated the statement. They offered to switch our rooms. When asked why should we have to move our 2 rooms instead of relocating the 1 room of boys they would not. I also asked to speak to a manager but never received a call. I had $350 dollar of resort credit that amazingly did not qualify for tours, photos or items that we purchases in the resort store. Would not recommend for families especially with teenage girls.

We were staying in Nizuc for 5 nights and 6 days. After arrival, they forced us to take a tour of Grant hotel and they would give $500 Resort credit to spend. We had an appointment at 9.30am and they were trying to sell the Palace Elite program and made us sit till 5.30. They will never allow you to leave, they attack you the moment they know you can afford to buy their plan. Finally they made us to spend 10K(me and my friend) on their plan and they promised few benefits but when the contract came to sign after swiping the credit card, everything was incorrect.

I give them 1 star because I lost one day for their sales pitch and 1 day to get refund. Please don't fall for their 500 Resort credit and go to their Palace Elite sales. Their treatment after they take your money is horrible and they treat you with disrespect.

We had such a great time we will be coming back.
Reading some of the recent reviews I'm not sure if we even were at the same resort so if you are a normal person don't take those seriously.
We booked this resort because we knew about seven people stayed at the resort within the last 7 years and we were not disappointed.
We find it useful to have information on how the beds and pillows were wherever we go say here we go. The beds were great the pillows were soft. Better family requested firm pillow so they were good to go.
Upon arriving resort they treated us really well and went above and beyond to have our family in rooms near each other.
I was pretty impressed with the app. It made it really easy to learn more about the resort what activities are going on as well booking dinner reservations.
Go back to the Sunrise buffet as well as the Nizuc for breakfast and a couple dinners with no real wait to be seated.
Pretty good selection and they seem to mix it up everyday.
The lunch options around the pool really good.
Lots of activities for the kids to keep us busy we'd been a minute partake and everything.
All the staff are really friendly and accommodating no complaints their and seems to be happy.
No problems with room even got a extra cot.
We absolutely love the evening shows at 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. worth going to every single night.
We also have resort credits and they're very clear about how you can use each part of it. Yes there 16% you have to pay add charge it to your room. It all seemed worth it. For example my girls got manicures and pedicures and it was like $5 per service per kid. I got a forehand massage and it cost me $45.
Can't really think of too many people think they can improve on .

The good & bad…
Good: Rooms were nice sized with comfortable beds & pillows. Food was better than average at the restaurants for an all inclusive. The pool was expansive and nice with regular pool side service.
The bad:
The check-in process is horrible… well over an hour and a half as you have to meet with different people who try to upsell you on the room, the excursions, and the vacation club. Everything here they are trying to upsell you.
The resort is massive and unless you are a “diamond” member your room is often so far you have to take a golf cart ride to/from everywhere or it’s a very very like hike… we were out in the villas on the golf course which is literally across the street not even close to the resort not because we asked but that’s where they put us regardless of what it shows/details online (we got a governors suite).
None of the pools have an ocean view; it’s almost like they hide visibility to the ocean and it’s not easily accessible or viewable from anywhere. If you want ocean views and aren’t diamond members; stay somewhere else.
All the pools loungers are all taken by 7am and it becomes hunger games to try to find a chair and the resort does not help remove all day chair holders like other resorts.
The resort “credits” are a joke; it’s actually incredibly difficult to find something you can use these credits on! Everyone in our group left without using 90% of them.
They really upsell you on the their Grand property and push you to do a presentation to get access for a day. This is where the adult day club, lazy river and most water slides are (all which were really great and fun). This is a horrible experience that last about 2 hours and you have to say no to at least 4 different high pressure people before you can leave. They really cater to you to get you there driving you to the sales center but when you say no you have to figure out how to walk back to the lobby to get access bands before going back to utilize the property.
We prefer a resort that doesn’t try to upsell you at every step; you can see the ocean from your room & pools, and it’s not so spread out it requires golf cart shuttles.

Mixed Experience at Hard Rock Cancun - Would Not Recommend
We had a mixed experience during our recent stay at Hard Rock Cancun.
On the positive side:
The location is absolutely beautiful with a gorgeous beach. The staff overall were friendly and helpful. There are many bars throughout the resort with excellent drink options. Guest services were generally good and responsive (except for one frustrating instance), and housekeeping was consistent most days. The spa services were very good. We also appreciated that the hotel upgraded our room upon request, which was a nice gesture.
However, several negative experiences left us very disappointed:
Limited Vegetarian Options: As vegetarians, we struggled to find good food choices. We made a dinner reservation at Zen after confirming with staff that the chef could accommodate us. Unfortunately, when we arrived, the chef simply removed the fish from regular sushi and served it to us — traces of fish were still clearly visible. This was extremely concerning, especially for anyone with allergies. It was shocking that a resort of this reputation would handle dietary restrictions so carelessly.
Rude Staff Interaction: At Ciao restaurant, a staff member yelled at us from behind, demanding we show our wristbands and telling us we could not enter — instead of politely explaining that the restaurant was restricted for certain guests. It was embarrassing and made us feel unwelcome.
Poor Guest Service Response: One evening, we requested towels. After waiting over 2 hours and calling guest services three times, we were finally told there was nothing they could do except cancel our request. This level of service is unacceptable at a supposedly premium resort.
Worn Out Rooms: Although our room was clean, the furniture and fixtures showed significant wear and tear. It’s clear the property is older and maintenance only goes so far in covering that up.
Limited Vegan/Vegetarian Options Throughout the Resort: Beyond Zen, most restaurants had very few vegetarian or vegan options, making dining a daily challenge.
Overall, while there were some enjoyable parts of the trip, the negative experiences overshadowed them. For the price and expectations at a Hard Rock property, we expected much better. I would rate this stay 3 stars and unfortunately would not recommend Hard Rock Cancun, especially when there are many other resorts in the area offering better facilities, service, and guest experience.

Hard Rock Cancun was amazing! Celebrated our honeymoon and just had a great time. They Helped us set up our excursions making it easy to enjoy our stay and not worry about the details. The entertainment staff was great with there amazing personalities, including Pedro, Fernando and Deni. We were always smiling and laughing. We were also grateful for Oscar our server whenever we were by the pool, very kind and opened our eyes to different drinks we’ve never heard of but super delicious. Our stay at Hard Rock was great, making it harder for us to want to leave.

The entertainment at the Hard Rock was some of the best I’ve experienced at an all inclusive resort. Really made my stay fun! The shows at the theatre and even at the main indoor bar were really good too! The resort was clean and had a great layout, and the staff were all so pleasant to interact with. The food was fresh, delicious and had good variety. The beach was also great for walking and swimming, waves/current can be a little strong. The hotel rooms and hallways could do with a facelift but they will be renovating. I would definitely come back to this Hard Rock location.

Beautiful place! We stayed for about 9 days. Only about a 15 min ride from the airport! Very close to the mall and to the convenience store. Service from the cleaning staff, the poolside staff and restaurant staff were amazing! The staff are so kind here! Shoutout to Victoria and Chac!! The food was 9/10, our room was very neat and tidy when we came in. The only sucky part was that our hot tub that was in the room, the jets did not work. When we arrived and after checking in, we were able to get into our room. The bartender Emmanuel was the best bartender ever , he was always so kind to me and my partner. Making us super yummy drinks and surprising us with the best cocktails ever. Frida, the buffet, was far the best buffet I've ever had!
******TIPS: BE CAREFUL around the staff members that are wearing a gray shirt that says "Legendary". They target new comers like myself and my partner. We had a guy named Javier, come up to us and was tryna sell us things on our first day and try to convince us to become a member there = wanted more money from us!💸
They have excursions available there and IF you want to see and interact with the dolphins go to the mall and pay there in person instead of paying through the hotel. At the hotel it's about 250+ per person and at the actual place it's $100 cheaper!

My feelings are mixed about this resort. The things I really liked include,
The rooms were beautiful and spacious and ours included a deep soaking tub along with a spacious patio with dining for four a sunbed and a hot tub.
The service here was excellent. We were treated with kindness and respect and our rooms were cleaned. When we stayed at the pool for the day the service was impeccable and our glasses were never dry.
The pools were beautiful and there were many options to which pull you wanted to stay in for the day. The adult only pool was especially nice.
Things I don't like about this resort include,
The location is near the airport and it is very noisy all day and all night.
The resort itself was very noisy. There was construction going on constantly with banging rattling and construction noise all day.
The beach access. Why you can walk down to the beach it is very primitive. From the shoreline about 30 ft out the water is brown full of debris and not exactly inviting to go into the ocean. There are a few chairs down there to sit in but there is no service and really nothing going on on the beach.
There is a ton of walking to get where you need to go. I would guess it's almost a mile from one end of the resort to the other. I ended up having to get my mother who's 80 a wheelchair because of the excess walking.
The overall atmosphere felt like I was staying in a mall. It seem like it's just a big shopping mall with some food courts.
There are several really nice restaurants for the evening time but some restaurants were not available during our stay because they were already booked up. This was a little frustrating as well.
I was looking for a peaceful, relaxing beachfront stay. This resort just simply does not provide that.
I realize that is a personal preference but I wanted you to know for my perspective what kind of experience we had.

One of the best overall hotels we have stayed in in Cancun. The pool was phenomenal; the beach area was very nice and well maintained. The Service was incredible. We were there celebrating my birthday and my sister in laws anniversary. When the pool staff found this out, they did one of the coolest things to celebrate them, Usually I just want to be left alone on my bday, but they designed this beach towel. Wow I was impressed. I think the pool waitress name was Gabriel, she was awesome. Highly recommend this resort.

Ava Resort Cancun was absolutely amazing! From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding—especially from our incredible butlers (AB and Ariel), who went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The food was extraordinary at every restaurant, with a wide variety of delicious options. The service at the pool was also exceptional—attentive, friendly, and always making sure we had everything we needed to relax and enjoy the day. The resort itself is beautiful, relaxing, and truly luxurious. And the beautiful golf course is just minutes away! We couldn't have asked for a better experience and will definitely be coming back!

This is a brand new resorts with over 1800 rooms, each room facing the beautiful sunset and sunrises, which is rare!
Food court 24×7 was amazing and has great quality in each and every item you pick, from coffees to margaritas.
Lunches by the pool, hot pools by the extreme south and north ends of the hoteld are marvelous.
Wings, mac n cheese , pizza with soft and hard drinks until 6pm.
And fancy restaurant serving lunch by pool that doesnt require fancy attire to dine by the pool is awesome.
People are so friendly and appreciate even 1$ tip,, doesnt mean you only give a 1$, but just saying...!
Restaurants that you would book for the night are not all that awesome but they are decent and good quality dine-in experience.
Minami, Veranda italian are good.
Night pub within the south tower shouldnt be missed !
Front desk is very helpful and they have 24x7 visitor services.
Room service available if you want to stay in your room and dine in.
Size of swim pool is about 3 miles long...and has opportunity for kids to experience kayaking for no extra fees in the pool.
Restrooms are super clean and modern, very nicely maintained.
Spa is good too but i do not recommend as the therapists that i attended was ok.
I highly recommend hair salon, they did a great job hair wash, blow dry and styling on the last date night of our vacation period. Five star !
Overall quality, maintenance, service and food were awesome !
Few things to remember -
Its few mins from airport so you will hear sounds of flights now and then, did not bother at all, but for few it may !
And the beach is still being worked upon, meaning as of march 2025 there is no access to beach like other resorts. However you can absolutely walk to/by the beach and its barely few steps away from the pool.
Life guard is available at pool and beach with limited sight and has lots of chairs and even provide drinks by the beach.

Absolutely stunning location. Karina our concierge and other staff were so friendly and tended to our every need. My husband and I felt babied from not having to lift a finger to do anything. The food was incredibly delicious and the shows at night were so fun to see. My husband and I have stayed at the Cap Cana Secrets hotel and even though we enjoyed our vacation there, this hotel far surpassed that hotel. If you like to explore there’s dive/snorkel shops walking distance from the resort to check out. Akumal bay which is right outside is protected by the government so the coral reefs and wildlife under water is incredible! There’s also lots of iguanas hanging around to really make you feel like you’re in the jungle. Would rate this resort a 10/10 because it is worth every penny!

My husband and I just got back from a two week vacation at Secrets Akumal. I cannot say enough good things about this resort. It’s such a beautiful place and all the service we received was above and beyond anything we could have expected. Our concierge, Leidy, took care of so many things for us and made sure we were always happy. Ismael, our poolside and beachside server, remembered us from the very first day onwards and always made us feel special. The Preferred Lounge bar staff, Josua, Alejandra, and Sarai, made us feel like family. The Market Cafe staff, Isabella, Noemi, Eliazar, Michelle and all the servers there, were always so happy to see us and presented us with a lovely plate of dessert with message. Fabiola in the spa was so gentle and calm. Wilbert at the Bordeaux was so funny and attentive. Lisbeth who we had a brief conversation with and then kept running into, who went out of her way to always greet us. All these lovely people in the prettiest surroundings, made for a vacation I will remember always. Excellent food, beautiful room, the list goes on. Very highly recommend!

This resort hotel is very hard to fault. The variety of restaurants available, activities, entertainment, scenery, rooms, 24/7 food and drinks, and service is exceptional. I've never experienced such a level of attentiveness and care. The staff are outstanding: special shout out to concierges Diana and Rodrigo; Javier, Isabel, Oscar, Max, Liz and Andrea from the entertainment team (definitely try Stretching and Aqua fitness classes; Adriel (apologies as the spelling may be incorrect) from Oceana restaurant; Ebert from Portofino restaurant; Noemi at Market Cafe. We felt very safe including when we exited and entered from Chichen Itza, Xcarat and Xplor which are all superb and worth visiting.
The biggest downside for me is the prices at the spa. They are at least twice the price we pay in London, and for me it's definitely not worth it. They need to make the prices reasonable.
If I'm nitpicking as well I'd ask that all hotel rooms please have tea, a kettle and milk, be clear on the app and PDF daily summaries from the concierge if the rainy day activities are happening or not, and please update on the app when an activity is cancelled or moves location.
If you book a swim out room, it's a small pool that a few rooms share; it doesn't connect to the other pools or areas, and it's usually in the shade. I wouldn't book a swim out suite again but I think that's just personal taste rather than a criticism.

Tucked into a turtle sanctuary a few minutes north of Tulum, this beach side resort is the pinnacle of luxury and service. The staff are friendly, “infectiously positive” the rooms are immaculately cleaned and accommodating. The service and food is spectacular. The beach is cleaned of seaweed throughout the day, by tractor if they must, to accommodate a perfect beach day for guests; there’s events by the pool and excursions at the beach throughout the day, there’s always something new, fire dancers and churros - exciting shows every day of the week. Food allergies are considered. As far as resorts go, they have some of the most delicious food - the lamb shank from Santorini one of the newer restaurants literally fell off the bone it was incredibly tasty and tender. Hibachi styles, French, Greek, Italian, steak houses, cafes at all hours.
The only dings might be the noise in the mornings can wake people around 8-9AM as there’s little sound proofing for the rooms. There was also a family of 20+ mosquitos that must’ve double booked the room my wife & I were staying in, fans could be used to blow mosquitoes away from rooms.
Dings aside, the atmosphere, the staff, the immaculate beaches, the vip lounge, the 24/7 snacks(which is extremely rare), the quiet pools, main pool, secret paths to hammocks and hot tubs even the 3 iguanas that grace the resort. The divine spa and massages, the events team that kept entertainment fresh. The waiters, the staff that walk the property and just warmly greet us.
They all create a wonderful one-of-a-kind experience, I can go on and on about the positives, but this is a 5 star diamond resort that the staff proudly uphold.
Secrets Akumal is hands down the best resort in Mexico and there is no competition. My wife & I had an incredible time and if we’re lucky enough to be back in there Yucatán peninsula we will make a bee line back to Secrets Akumal

Have been going here on at least 10 previous times. Since Hyatt has taken over, this place has slipped big time. Paying the big dollars for first class experience. Now they money grab, hounding you to pay extra for Preferred Club. You are treated second class if you don't pump another 300 per day. It is obvious they are on a cost cutting mission on food, and the number of staff.
I can now see they are dropping in the " BEST" All Inclusive ratings on line. Staff is still very nice and work hard, but numbers have been cut back.
Food was a disgrace. Was there 5 nights and could only choke down 4 partial meals. Breakfast was always their shining star, but not now. French Toast was Rock Hard and Bacon was sitting in so much grease that it appeared deep fried. Steak Restaurant was exceptionally notable. Meat was so tough , you couldn't cut it. I watch people at other tables look at each other when they tried to cut their meal.
The shows have dropped down in quality and had very little attendance. Especially disappointing was The Rock Show was had always been amazing.
The view of what is still the best beach in Mexico is ruined by moving the Bali Beds to the front of the shore. Beach attendants gladly take your tips, but last you see of them. Wait service was slow compared to the past. Thankfully, they caught on I was a big tipper, and finally gave us attention. Not big drinkers, but its sad they are now pushing off cheaper levels of spirits. As we entered transportation to leave, the Bag Captain talked to me. Said that many people who are frequent returnees have told him they wont be back

Maroma beach is one of the top beaches in the world, and it shows. The staff work so hard to keep it pristine and free of seaweed. The rooms are cozy and elegant and the swim out pools perfect for a little romance away from the crowds. We had a spectacular time, and the service was top notch. The bars have a wide variety of fine liquors and there are several restaurants available. I found the huevos rancheros to be my favorite breakfast order when using room service. The property is impressive. 5 stars all around.

We’ve been wanting to visit Secrets Maroma for a while, and it was absolutely worth the wait! The white sand beach is stunning with no seaweed or rocks and the resort’s welcoming vibe and amazing staff made our stay unforgettable.
We stayed in the Preferred Club Suites and had Roger as our personal concierge. He was friendly, calming, and made sure everything was perfect. The Preferred Club staff was incredible — they made us feel so special and served up the best drinks. Bernardo surprised us with so many creative, delicious drinks that we loved! Mauricio took great care of us on the beach, and Issac gave an excellent welcome presentation with helpful recommendations. We loved it so much we even upgraded our UVC membership!
The resort is spacious, the food is fantastic, and to top it all off, the team made our birthday an unforgettable experience. Our only regret is not staying longer. We’ll definitely be back and highly recommend this resort!

Secrets Maroma is the best all-inclusive I’ve been to! The staff were amazing and the service was top notch. Our concierge Roberto was absolutely amazing. He reached out to us daily to share what was going on the following day to make sure we could plan what we wanted to do accordingly. The beach, pool and activities were amazing.
Our favorite staff were,
- Torino and Patricio the cat in the preferred lounge. They provided such a welcoming atmosphere and amazing drinks.
- Alfredo and Carlos in the preferred beach club. They were so much fun to be around and they kept the mimosas flowing. On the last day they had a special breakfast treat for us and it made our day.
- Wilbert in the preferred beach club who provided us amazing service and the best night caps.
We are truly so thankful for all the staff and the experience we received. We will definitely be back!

We cannot recommend Secrets Playa Mujeres Resort enough! This was not only our first visit to Cancún but our first all-inclusive experience; it was an incredible way to spend 7 wonderful days. The food was no less than good but there were some fantastic meals such as the Japanese restaurant, Himitsu. The hotel is about to undergo a major remodel, but the grounds were lovely and the rooms overall were nice (sure, slightly dated but nothing significant). The pools and bar were fabulous and the entire team was EXCEPTIONAL. Having worked in hospitality many years ago, my partner and I truly appreciate great service and SPM did not disappoint. As queer individuals as well, we felt completely comfortable, welcomed, and taken care of. We did have one tiny incident that occurred but the staff were so quick to respond and made everything right, no questions asked (things happen, and we understand that). Huge, huge shoutout to Paulina - the PC Guest Services Manager and to Allison from Concierge. We were so impressed by their service and the whole experience that we have booked to stay at Secrets Moxché at Playa del Carmen in December. A huge thank you to the entire team and we look forward to returning when the renovations are completed.

Just returned from a wonderful week spent at this resort. My finance and I loved it and had a really nice time. The pools were amazing, fun with lots of entertainment going on throughout the day. The beach was really nice. A bit of seaweed but not too bad. The room was clean and spacious with a jacuzzi tub which we enjoyed using. Staff was friendly and attentive, always available to help. Amazingly, for an all inclusive, the food was very good. Our favorite restaurant was the Italian place. We hope to visit again someday and definitely plan on visiting other Secrets resorts.

Great experience! Each and every staff member was friendly and went above and beyond to make sure the guests were happy. We hung out by the pool every day and Eugenia took the BEST care of us! It was so much fun to celebrate our honeymoon at Secrets Playa Mujeres! Right from the get-go we were warmly welcomed with a champagne toast and the staff was immediately helpful in getting our baggage to our room. The resort is a little spread out so you will have to take golf carts to get between the lobby, the spa/restaurants, and the rooms, but you will never have to wait too long to get a cart.
The room that we had was very nice. Lots of room to spread out and there are a good number of amenities including a very nice bath, walk-in shower, fully stocked mini fridge, robes, and more. Our room had a partial beach view as well, which was very nice at sunset and sundown. The mini fridge was never fully stocked after taking stuff out of it, but room service and anything else you need was always just a call away and the staff is pretty timely in getting stuff to you. The resort does show it's age in spots, so it's not too surprising that it will be closing down in April for remodeling. There were definitely some parts of the resort that would benefit from a remodel.
The pool was great and there is an ample amount of chairs to find a spot. Although it got pretty busy during the afternoon hours. The pool had a swim-up bar as well as an infinity pool with a nice view of the ocean as well. The ocean is very easy to get to from the resort and the beach has chairs to lounge in as well as bar and servers coming around to take your drink orders. It's also worth noting that the spa is definitely worth a visit! The hydrotherapy and massage combo was very relaxing.
The restaurants on the resort were all really good. The buffet didn't necessarily blow me away but the other restaurants that we tried were pretty great. Our favorite was the Seaside Grill. The staff, from the golf cart drivers to the servers, were all really phenomenal and took every opportunity to make sure our experience was great. It was also fun to practice a little of our Spanish with them as well. There are a good number of activities to do during the day if you get bored of lounging by the beach and there are also some excursions that you can book through Amstar.
Overall we had a really good time! The staff treated us great and it was very hard to head home when all was said and done!

The resort was beautiful even though I know renovations are starting this week, the water view is gorgeous, all the food was amazing! Each restaurant we went to had incredible service and amazing food. The staff is so kind and attentive , the spa was amazing , and top to bottom we had an amazing experience! We hope to come back in the future!

ALL AROUND 5 STARS!!! Unico is the definition of luxury. We went here for our honeymoon and the ONLY thing I would change, was staying longer. The room service food was SO GOOD!!! It was just as good of quality as the actual restaurants on the resort. You had a tablet in your room you could order from with pictures of the food. The restaurants were AMAZING, I’m super picky about the quality of food I eat and I have 0 complaints. Our concierge Mendoza was FANTASTIC. He checked in us every day and helped us book our excursions. The house keeping and all of the bartenders and wait staff are SO NICE and my husband made friends with all the bartenders on our trip. He misses Jonathan and Mr Anderson from the pool bar. The spa was very clean and professional. We had a couples massage, facials, and used their saunas/pools. It was very relaxing and very clean. The pool was amazing, they have a pool party daily where they play great music. The swim up bar was our favorite spot. They also have bathrooms by the pool and they were very clean. It says a lot when the bathrooms by the pool are kept so clean, the entire resort is so awesome. I would live there if I could and we are already talking about going back. If you are looking for an adult only LUXURY resort with top quality food, this is your place!!! Just be aware, when you go home it’s depressing to leave!!! THIS WAS PARADISE!!!

First of all , be careful with the people who will try to scam you with the legendary program , they are very iritante ( they made us lost 2 days from our holiday ) . They even follow us :)) . Second of all , the beach it’s not very nice , it’s not clean at all . And they’re menu it’s always the same it’s not feeling like an all inclusive ( and the portion of the food it’s very small ) I was pregnant and I had craving was hard in some days to find an green apple . The room it’s really nice , but the food isn’t great at all ( except the breakfast ) the service it’s very slow , sometimes they forget to bring what we asked for . And one think made me very unhappy was that in one corner they made pizza and calzone ( without gloves ) and they guy put his hands in my chesse ,

The funny things is that they say that protect nature that s why they don’t give straw , and the cockerels are in plastic glasses that can’t be Desinfected ( o had even a cold sore at my mouth .

Really wonderful experience at Unico. Would we return, yes! Would we bring friends and family , yes! The rooms were very comfortable and stunning. Great tub on the balcony that we used a few times . The food was great pretty much everywhere that we ate outside of the snack bar. The pool side pizza could be better as well. However, once we realize there was à la cart sushi available at the grill for lunch we ate there the rest of our days and it was awesome. We really enjoyed the Japanese dinner the Mexican restaurant and also the grill. we ended up eating at the grill twice because the ambience outside was very nice. We loved all of the pool options having the quiet pool but also the more lively pool was awesome. We really enjoyed the DJ every other day by the pool as well. I do think the quiet pool needs a little bit of maintenance work I did see some signs of aging there. The hot tubs were fantastic. Loved those. The beach looked like it would’ve been very nice if there was less seaweed. Unfortunately, towards the end of our stay, it became unswimmable, but the first two days we were able to get into the ocean and it was great overall. Fun ambience for adults while still remaining classy. There was a conference going on the earlier part of our stay and that brought some interesting characters to the resort that I don’t think would’ve been there normally. We booked during a winter special and I think that made it a little bit more affordable so at that rate I would return. One thing we did not enjoy was being forced to leave the resort five hours earlier than our flight, which I think was excessive and they would not work with us on this even if we signed off because we were using shared transportation that was included in our package. I think they should be a little bit more lenient and let you sign off if you want to leave a little bit later other than that everything was fantastic. Great cocktails as well.

We stayed 5 nights at Unico 2087 in April 2025. We would love to stay again. The only improvement we suggest is to not waste guests time upon arrival for timeshare upsells. After a long journey getting there, they sat us down with a salesperson who tried to get us to join a time share presentation in exchange for a free couples massage. We declined, but still received 4 calls from sales to our room across 3 days. I understand needing to upsell, but do not make it the first thing you do on tired and hungry guests that are already paying a lot to relax. Aside from that, excellent resort and staff.

One of the best resorts by far! The staff is spectacular, helpful and so kind! Everyone has a smile on their face. Our concierge Ismael helped us with booking our restaurant reservations and spa services and made the trip so easy for us! He also informed us of the daily activities going on at the resort! There were many dining options on the resort, the gym, spa and pool were fantastic, and the food was high quality. One of my most relaxing vacations yet, I can’t wait to go back!

We really enjoyed our holidays at Desire Perl.
The food was delicious but the service being delivered was outstanding. Our special thanks go to Victor from the pool who made us feeling so comfortable. He looked after us so well every day and always tried to fulfill our wishes. Also Yolanda from the restaurant and the Playmakers were just great. Thank you so much for everything!
Unfortunately, the beach was very disappointing. You could not even walk in because of all the seagrass. We also would wish for a better DJ at the disco. It felt like he was playing the same playlist each night.
The other guests were very kind, respectful and friendly at this relaxing place but most of them far to old for us to enjoy „Lifestyle“ a bit more. As they have different places/ resorts we would check out a different location of this group next time. However all in all it was a pleasure and we enjoyed our time. Thank you guys!!!

We have had the most amazing time during our stay. The staff is fabulous ! Attentive , helpful, always there to take care of you. Victor takes care of you at the pool along with his guys. The staff helped us pull off the best birthday dinner for my husband. Over the top service, fantastic display of food, very accommodating at every level. And they were happy to do it. Two chefs, Perla and Nico worked together to make the best appetizers, dinner and his favorite dessert. The waiter, Gerardo along with Eva and Antonio took great care of our 20 guests with ease. The bartenders, Pedro and Saul made sure the drinks were never empty. And all of this could not have come together without the help of Hector our butler and the hotel manager Laura. A huge shout out to all of these hardworking awesome people. Thank you. We will be back.

98% of the staff were among the best I've ever seen. Unfortunately the other 2% needs help. The constant attempts to get us to spend money was not appreciated in an all inclusive resort (Would you like to upgrade your room for $300 [before we saw the room], you can't have a glass of chainti, you have to buy a bottle [$100 for a $12 bottle], buy a membership for only $70,000 [oops too much? maybe $17,000], then got angry when we didn't buy, even though I said I would not buy anything, and on and on.
The other issue is dessert. The absolute worst I ever have been served. It was like the pastry chef had NEVER even seen the item. Inedible.
Again, the vast majority of the staff could not do enough for the guests.

Great hotel and food but enormous and quite overwhelming complex. Lots for kids to do which was good. Only 15 mins from airport which was a bonus after a long flight. Lovely beach too, although not enough sun loungers especially at Easter when all the American families came for their spring break. They also have a no saving sunbed policy but it wasn't enforced at all and many saved beds whilst people had to sit on the sand which you wouldn't be too happy about after paying a substantial amount. All the staff were brilliant and really lovely. Booking dinner a bit stressful as can't do it till the day you arrive and hard to get earlier bookings if you have kids. Hotel beds were doubles which we felt were too small. They do try and upsell you lots of things though so a firm no needed sometimes! Joe's deck - Ishegar, Jose, Yasmeen and Elvis we're all stand out staff ❤️👏🏼

Had a very good time! Happy that we chose this place for stay. The one thing was that I did not feel the service was enough for the price we payed, but everything else was amazing and especially the food! The French fries were very soggy and the room service we ordered took a long time to come, but there are over 2000 hotels in this resort. We understand the wait. I hope we can come back next time because it was so much fun!

I have been a member of Palace since 2010 and I have been to so many upgrade/update presentations in the last 15 years, that I feel compelled to warn others against signing these contracts. In my experience, with signing new agreements, I have lost benefits that I had and this is never mentioned to me. I think that by upgrading, I maintain the benefits I had and am getting better, but this has not been the case. They ask for your credit card to get the deposit before drawing up the contract. Then it is quite difficult when what is in the contract is different from what the salesperson promised. They also go very quickly over the contract and only point out the positives, while omitting the changes made to the membership, plus it is very small on the tablet and impossible to read all of it. They have now improved the process whereby you have 5 days to go over it and cancel, but at this time, you are most likely still on vacation, without access to a lawyer, and it is impossible to read the document on your phone.
I went through this process in December and cancelled within 5 days. It took months before I could get my credit card reimbursed and I had to dispute the charges and get the credit card company involved.
In the 15 yrs that I have been a member at Palace, they have also made changes to the benefits to members that weren't in writing, as well as using any writing in the contract that isn't explicit to their own interpretation (which differs from how things were), thereby lessening the value of the weeks that have already been purchased. I believe this is done because it leaves people wanting more and therefore more motivation to upgrade. Based on my experiences, I DO NOT recommend purchasing memberships with Palace.

Beware of staff at the adult pool
I took my 76- and 77-year-old parents to Mexico for the first time on March 9th, 2025. They have never left the US so they were a little nervous, but I re-assured them they would be fine, especially in a 5-star hotel. We arrived on 3/9, were shown to our rooms and had a great evening.
The next morning we went to breakfast and then back to the room to change. There was an adult pool directly across from our rooms, so we decided to spend the day there. We arrived at the pool at 10:40AM. After grabbing some towels and settling in, we ordered a margarita followed by 3 bottles of water. After our second margarita we all 3 got into the pool and that’s pretty much where ALL 3 of us lost our memory. Our first margarita was at 11AM followed by a bottle of water. Our second drink was around 11:45AM and in the pool at noon. There are videos on my phone at 12:23 that none of us have any memory of and the last picture on my phone is at 1:08PM. My mother and father had both fallen and were extremely hurt and needed assistance. They asked what happened and I said we must have drank too much. Now mind you, I have no idea what time it is, what the hell happened and I am still drugged up answering their questions. It wasn’t until the next day when I could go back and look at all our phones and piece together as much information as possible. This was my 55th birthday so we all have many years of drinking under our belts. There is no way possible that all 3 of us would have been blacked out drunk in LESS than 1.5 hours, with a full belly, and a bottle of water in between those drinks. And on top it, we only had 2 drinks! And they are tiny drinks, in a little plastic soda cup. I have read 2 other posts where this exact same thing happened to other people at the same pool. Another couple got extremely hurt and customer service response was “they reviewed the CCTV and showed the other couple got hurt falling off a fence they climbed.” Instead, they should be looking at why that couple climbed the fence to begin with. It’s amazing what people will do when they have been drugged. And what is the reasoning. Pure entertainment? My parents were seriously hurt from their fall and could have been killed by these drugs. Customer service reached out to my parents the following day and out of fear my mother reported they were fine. I called them back and had them bring a wheel chair for my father who couldn’t walk since his fall. My mother was humiliated, and I thought best to bring this to their attention after I got them home to safely. I did mention this to the girl at check out and also wrote them an email asking them to look into the incident, watch the videos, and explain how this happened. I would have thought my parents would have been safe in a 5 star hotel but obviously I was wrong. I have spoken to many other people at this resort and they didn’t have any issues so it appears that only some people are targeted. This post is nothing but a warning that there are dishonest employees that work in this resort, especially at the adult pool (since this is now the 3rd reported incident in less than 6 months). If this is a place you have your heart set on visiting, BRING TEST strips and test every drink the staff brings you. And for Palace resorts, don’t send me a message about contacting you and how important safety is to your guests. I have already contacted you and if safety was important, this would have been addressed immediately. How many other unreported incidents have happened here? How many other people need to make the exact same claim before you look into the issue? First time visit to Desire. The trip was much better then i would have imagined. The resort is small enough to be cozy and familiar without feeling like you have no privacy. The food is excellent with a variety of options to choose from. My favourite by far was the buffet. As a vegetarian my choices were plentiful. Not to knock the restaurants. Despite not having many vegetarian options on the menu the chef was always eager to create some vegetarian option. The staff at Desire cannot be praised enough. From the person who takes your luggage when arriving, to the front desk staff checking you in , to the activity leaders, servers, spa staff and general laborers. Everyone is polite, friendly, helpful and professional. A shout out to the few staff we got to know , Pina, Bella, Bobbi, Mariane, Leyda, Andrea, Erik, Davis, Luis, Carlos, and my apologies for anyone i've forgotten.

This resort was awesome. The food was great! The fun and entertainment was top notch and the atmosphere is unique and special. Not for the faint of heart but a welcoming environment whether you rock a bikini or not! The room was comfortable but small. Some of the nicer rooms are legit tho!

Another wonderful trip to Desire. Loved the new Eden section add-on! It was nice to have the option between a party pool and a quiet pool. Food was wonderful everywhere we ate. Staff was INCREDIBLE - all of them from housekeeping to entertainment to front desk! Now that Eden is done, I am praying they will upgrade the old rooms as they really need it.

We have been to Temptations in the past and decided to try Desire for half our trip this time- and we are so glad we did! We love that it is peaceful and beautiful and the staff is super helpful. The room was beautiful and clean. The drinks were excellent and the food delicious! We are sad to go back to Temptations for the other half of our trip

It’s the happiest place on earth. Outstanding service, good food, well appointed rooms for every budget, excellent entertainment, a host of amenities and extras to choose from, great drinks, and truly beautiful people working here. 99% of the guests are friendly and outgoing. The staff are top notch.
