I am going to start just by praising all the servers and bartenders for working so hard around the clock! They were exceptional.
However, this hotel is so old and the online pictures doesn’t do its justice. DO NOT BOOK TO THIS HOTEL. I said this to say that I learned it the hardest way. I traveled with my family to celebrate our 8 year’s anniversary and we were all sick. The room is too cold you can’t adjust the temperature, smelly and slippery. All around the hotel is slippery. And no place in the lobby is comfortable to sit and enjoy. Either it’s too freaking cold or too hot! My two year old falls down and hurts his knee no one really cares.
Food is terrible. Not many options there. Drinks are awful. Beach is so dirty and stinky with a lots of seaweeds. Entertainment is a joke.
Above all front desk are rude and not helpful. For how much we spent we left with disappointment.

Wonderful small hotel, I've traveled to many Palace Resorts before and was worried that this one is much smaller than the ones I've been too. But they offer all the same amenities and wonderful service just smaller. I had no issues getting reservations for dinner which was awesome, the food everywhere was good to great.
We lucked out with 2 days of calm seas and no seaweed, it was such a treat to swim in the sea like it used to be. Pool is good, nice pool bar with all the drink options and good food options too.
Great shows at night in the lobby, very intimate, as opposed to being on a large stage far away. Lobby bar is great, they remember your preferences pretty quickly tipping doesn't hurt 😊.
What I loved was the proximity to town, it was nice to walk about after dinner without having to take a taxi to check out all the shops. And if you're interested in taking the ferry to Cozumel for the day, it's a 5 minute walk.
My 2 👎🏼 things where that although they say each room has at least partial water view, ours did not at all, we faced the condos next door and their small parking lot, I didn't overly mind because it was private but I was expecting a water view. Secondly, I don't have mobility issues but there are a lot of stairs to get around everywhere and I just kept thinking it would be a nightmare for someone who can't do stairs since the elevators are far.
All together, I would highly recommend.

There was No beach. They said it was due to the water that year, yet the staff told us that wasn’t true and that this happens every year in December/January. We went to Mexico for the beach and the water - not a pool everyday. No compensation given for the false advertising (since this was a common occurrence that happens due to their beach being very short).
Then, my husband and I got very sick with same symptoms at the same time after eating their seafood. They blamed it on our sensitive North American stomachs and took no responsibility.
Horrible customer service if something goes wrong on their end.

I was at this resort on January for a week on a membership. We arrived to the resort early and couldn't checking until 3 pm. at the arrival we were greeted by the staff to schedule a meeting with the "sales department to review our membership benefits". We were offered a new upgrade, we were tired and hungry and sounded good, so we opted to upgrade. We were promised a room with partial ocean view, but instead we were place looking at the back street. The facilities are deplorable, the mattress was torn and uncomfortable, the pillows were disgusting stinky. The lounge bed were broken, the bathrooms are stinky and on poor shape. The outdoors showers to rinse sand were not working, nobody assisting to remedy the problem. The pools were dirty with garbage floating in them. We requested a visit with the sales department to cancel our recent "upgrade/ investment". It took a while and a lot of explanation to get out of this "deal", but we were able to get out. I'm very disappointment with this resort. we have come to this resort for the 7th time. Since the first time to today, we have seem a decline in the facilities upkeep. We were offered the first time upon request the partial ocean view room, after deciding to cancel the upgrade we were promised another room (governors suite) but I was not in the mood to switch rooms and waste more time dealing with these people. Management were very adamant to continue asking to reconsider not canceling the upgrade, but the fact is the facilities are not a 5 star hotel. I wrote a review on trip advisor, the review was deleted. I was contacted by the resort staff telling me that they were going to "resolve the issues" , but I never heard from them again. (typical). Any how, I decided not to continue visiting this resort, I will try a different option in the future.
P.S. There were other issues that I can not write on this review.

We were fortunate as Playacar Palace was available to us as LeBlanc Palace guests. They gave us a tour of the rooms and we were able to enjoy the dining and lounges. The food was very good and the staff is friendly and accommodating. The rooms are a large size, clean and comfortable. We also found the location very convenient, right off Fifth Avenue.
