Extraordinary! From the moment I arrived, to the moment that I did not want to leave.

Scammy. This hotel is just scammy. We typically stay at Four Seasons and St Regis resorts. However, the sargassum situation in Punta Cana lead us to La Romana for this last minute stay. While there was no seaweed to be found, that’s the last positive that I can say about this disastrous resort. It was scammy from the moment we arrived. I asked about a paid upgrade, and they offered me a 3 bedroom garden villa for an additional $500 per night. It was offered at $629 on their website so I essentially would have been throwing away the $4000 I already paid for our 5 night stay. We declined. Our room had inoperable blinds (they wouldn’t stay closed so they screwed them closed). A golf cart that would go above 10 mph so they gave us one whose steering alignment was laughable off (9 pm was straight on). The room wouldn’t cool below 23F. Our room had a lamp that couldn’t be plugged in because there wasn’t an outlet nearby (seriously?) and the roof outside our room was constantly dripping without the presence of rain. And the kicker was that my daughter developed a GI illness from the ice? We only ate at their restaurants and didn’t use the tap water so it must have been their food or ice? On our third fourth day I asked to move to the $500 upgrade and was told that it was suddenly $959++ per night. This place is looking for easy targets. Don’t be one!!! Also, don’t stay at their overpriced suites with views of shoddily maintained golf courses. Stay at the Aman instead. If you’re not All Inclusive here, you’re nickled and dimed disgustingly.
Finally, the food quality is bad. We were passed yellow broccoli and dried out fruit on multiple occasions. The pizza arrived burnt. When we were in the ocean and it started to pour, the waiters did nothing to move the food that they’d left under cover. Good hotels don’t do that. Great hotels would be embarrassed to do that.

Visited Casa de Campo for the first time. We went for a destination wedding in the beautiful Altos de Chavón. Loved the fact that they have an airport directly across from the resort. No long bus ride to get to our destination. The resort was incredible. We rented a villa, it came with its personal golf cart. Allowed us to get around entire resort easily. Speaking of Golf, this is a golfers paradise. There are several breathtaking courses to choose from. Food was excellent, lots of dining options. Very affluent and quiet ambiance. Blown away by the experience. Highly recommend for a romantic luxurious getaway or with your family.

Nice resort worth going premium for better quality spirits and full use of all bars, great beach area and water activities available, book at the beach hut for snokelling trip which was good.
Food quality is okay with lots of options.
Reception team i found to be very blaise as we booked a king sized bed and got a small double, after asking numerous times to the butler service (Inc with premium) and reception we gave up after 3 days chasing with no proper answer. I don't expect the hotel to read this review, but if offering a butler/contact service, then they really should be responding to messages.
Premium pool and bar (nice staff) very good varied with activities to fill the day. Evening shows were decent. If you book premium, once you get there, try and pre-book the restaurants on offer as these book up very fast. You can use the hotel link once there. $35 in cab from airport, took just under 30mins. Not a great deal outside of hotel apart from few restaurants, bars, supermarkets. Bring USD as ATM is only DOP and ATM's outside were mostly out of service. Ask questions if needed.
Overall a good hotel to book.

Spent five nights here in winter 2020 (just before the COVID outbreak). Our room was fine, nothing special. Housekeeping (or other staff members) would let themselves into our room on several occasions without knocking or announcing themselves at all. Restaurant service was mostly abysmal, with over 45 minutes of waiting for any dinner service on our first night. The beach was a bust, because we couldn’t sit in peace for even a moment without some type of saleperson approaching us to try and sell us their wares. Absolutely wouldn’t come here again.

Great location and beautiful views but that is all. Pushy timeshare people (bought in 2021) to later fing out it's pretty much a scam. I would recommend just enjoying everything else and not agreeing to a timeshare.

We went when there was curfew in the country during the COVID-19 times, there wasn't much activity in the hotel seven so we had a good time because we party in punta cana clubs, as it was an adult hotel, we had a complaint because the buffet was mixed with the family resort and that's how we got breakfast and champagne in the room as a result of the complaint.

Horrible horrible experience. The workers at the front seemed to look down at us and we're extremely dismissive. Either because of our skin color, our accents, who knows. But very poor customer service. The rooms were disgusting. Food at the buffet was gross. Pools and beaches were gorgeous but that was the only positive. I will never return. This resort is definitely a quick/familiar destination spot for locals but NOT for tourists who are used to higher quality vacations. Every other resort in the area was beautiful!! A shame we didn't spend extra dollars to go elsewhere. Unfortunately, I won't be returning to the DR. A lot of anti-black undertones. Shameful.

After flying 10hours from France and not knowing what to expect , I can say that I spent an amazing 10 days vacation in Be Live Collection Adults Only Punta Cana with my mother in every way.
The hotel is very clean, cozy,and beautifully designed. The rooms are very spacious, clean and have very comfortable beds.
The chefs and the staff are very friendly having always a service with a smile.
The food was very fresh and tasty with lots of variety .
The beach was beautiful and long , great for walks.
In addition the General Manager and Nicolas from the VP desk were very attentive to our needs and made us feel like home.
I highly recommend this hotel and will definitively come back even if I have to fly another 10hours ! :)

Recently returned from our honeymoon
Positives: the property is huge, lots of walking.. fortunately we had a room that was close to the pool,beach and restaurants. 2 Buffets was so good. The beach buffet was great and convenient after coming from the pool or beach
Staff were friendly, mostly Spanish speaking but if you know basic phrases like thank you, good night, etc it's something to work around.
Some water activities are free (kayak, sail boat)
Entertainment was okay, magic show was a highlight
Pool, there are kids but otherwise clean and comfortable.
Negatives: the beach.. the water is not clear. There's some seaweed and coral..I would recommend water shoes. Unfortunately there are jellyfish and you cannot see them due to the water. We did not get stung but we saw 3 people that did and it really makes puts a damper on someone's day of they get stung. We still took a chance and went in but we stayed closer to the shoreline.
Room shower... If you want to take a warm shower to end your day.. there's hot water but the pressure isn't very strong..also sink water is not potable so ask for extra water bottles
Otherwise, it's a very big, comfortable resort for a great value.

We recently returned from our first all-inclusive vacation at Bahia Principe, and overall, it was a good experience. I’d rate it a 7 out of 10.
The highlights of the trip were definitely the amazing service and great food. The staff were attentive and friendly, and the food quality and variety were impressive. Most of the meals leaned toward international cuisine, which we enjoyed, but we would have loved to see more local dishes available as well. The bar service was solid, but one thing we missed was having drink menus—most of the time, we just ordered the usual since there were no posted options or suggestions.
A few things to note for future guests:
• The rooms were very outdated, and the resort overall could really use some updates and renovations.
• Most staff only spoke Spanish, which made communication difficult at times. Similarly, most of the activities were in Spanish, which made it hard to participate fully if you only speak English. While we understand the guest base is largely Spanish-speaking, having more bilingual staff or activity options would help everyone feel more included.
• The timeshare sales pitch was a bit of a downside. It felt like we were constantly being upsold on timeshare plans or property plots, which became a bit annoying during a trip meant for relaxation.
All in all, we had a good time thanks to the service and food, but with some updates and a few adjustments, this resort could be even better.

I enjoyed the food and the rest of the resort was beautiful, however there wasn't much of anything I found interesting to do. So I spent most of the vacation by the pool or in the room. The sea was a brown color, but I don't know if that was because of constant rain or if it was just like that normally. Overall not terrible, the services were nice and the food beside the buffet was really good. But just know there ain't much to do.

The hotel is lovely, the food great and the restaurant staff are very attentive, welcoming you with a smile. The restaurant is very clean and well supplied with a very large variety of food available. The themed restaurants are a lovely experience, to a very high standard.
The entertainment team are lively and engaging.
Although sometimes it is difficult to understand when they are speaking in English due to accent and the speed of the words. Pablo Gomez the team leader is great and looks like he inspires his team. Mariano is great fun and Alfredo is an excellent fitness instructor. They have plenty of activities for adults.
The bar staff, in the most part are friendly, although we did experience that sometimes the Spanish speaking guests are served first. We raised this with customer services.
The music playing at the pool is predominantly Spanish, however I would like it to be a mix of English spoken as well.
We went to the night club for 15 Mins and left after listening to Spanish music only. We noticed that others did the same. When we have previously gone to resort night clubs they play a mix of popular music in English and regional music and people stay and enjoy this.
The cleanliness of all areas of the resort is excellent and the grounds are well managed.

It's a beautiful resort. Mostly clean. Staff is friendly. Beautiful beach. However, there were issues, and I would not have gone if I knew. Context: Trip timeline was April 28 to May 5.
Details:
Expedia: I would never book a trip via Expedia again. Everything was extra, even though it was supposed to be all inclusive. Also, the communication leading up to the trip was.poor.
Transportation: It wasn't included, and it was expensive. Communication was again unclear. Website wasn't user friendly. We didn't know where to meet our driver. There was no signage at the airport. It took us 15 min to find our driver. The hotel outsourced it to another company, with no communication. And the drive to the hotel was long, 1.5 hours away.
Staff: Check-in was seamless. Staff were friendly and responsive. Sadly, no other employee speaks English very well. I used Google translate with minimum success because many staff also don't read Spanish. This made communicating with the staff challenging.
Room: The room was beautiful and large, with a King size bed and living room area. There was also a large closet with a room safe. However, it was not cleaned well. We would find hair or other things. First day, we found an eating on the floor.
The bathroom was airy with a double sink, which was a bonus. However, there are definitely signs of wear and tear. Also, the water pressure is poor.
Food: Plantiful but mandane and repetitive. The food signage wasn't always placed correctly, and if you had questions, answers were confusing. The best part of the buffet was the fruit. We tried one a la carte restaurant, and we cancelled the rest. There was no option for dietary restrictions.
Entertainment: Friendly staff. They tried to create engagement, but not successfully. The shows were okay.
Beach: Clean, but it has a lot of seaweed and jellyfish. Many patrons were stung.
Insects: Plantiful. We all left with numerous bites.
Overall, it was a good break. But not worth the price we paid. Hotel is 3.5 stars at best. I would not recommend it.

I have revised and given it a bump. They offer limited food options. Everyone eats at the buffet because that's all you get most of the time. You can't even get a seat because it's constantly packed unless you are there at the open. The food is fine at the buffet, but poor at the one restaurant available for lunch/snack food. The hotel is old and in dire need of a remodel. The service is terrible and constantly need to call for towels and then they either don't deliver them or takes hours to come. One plus is the beach. It's large and beautiful. The 2 restaurants that I've visited so far have been delicious. The seafood and Japanese have been great experiences. It's a shame they only let you book 3 of the 6 restaurants. That needs to change.

Let me start by saying please don’t listen to the negative reviews. We had a fabulous time from start to finish, our 10 day stay on our family vacation was great. The staff were such hard working and kind helpful people. Hats off to all staff at this resort from the bell boys, to the maids servers etc all fantastic. A special thanks to our housekeeper Juana Guzman for always keeping our room tidy and filling our fridge. The food was good, especially the French and seafood restaurant. Best drinks are found at Lobby bar 2.

This one is for travelers that have been to others All Inclusive resorts and have experienced true Costumers service, cleanliness and overall decent communication from staff.. you WILL NOT get that here! Spend your money somewhere else. I have not read the reviews prior to coming to this place, and lesson learned.
The rooms are not clean, run down, they won’t even change the towels.
The staff barely acknowledges you, at best! At least twice a got an eye roll from staff.
The food is at best a 5/10
. The people working can make or break your experience! The staff working should be trained more!
Also, The communication between front desk, costumer service and client is the worst!

You get what you pay for. We paid for the premium level room. We recieved Superior room with superior amenities. No welcome gifts or extra amenities, could not use premium lounge to check out of room, no one was there for 2 hrs. Two of the activities such as climbing wall were closed for all 4 days of our stay. Not worth the premium at all. The positive note was the staff and gentlemen who welcome you as you arrive at the resort. They were honestly the best. Met an awesome gentlemen who sells cigars by one of the main lobby bars. Besides meeting great people, the resort itself needs an update in every detail.

First off, you get what you paid for. We stayed at this place a few years ago and had the best time. We talked this place up with our family and friends. There were 18 of us. From the get go nothing went right. Rooms were not ready when they gave us room keys. 4 out of 5 rooms had no air condition. 2 rooms still had poop in the toilets. Roaches were in the rooms. One family that came with us went thru 3 rooms before they found an ok one and still had issues with AC. Food was mediocre. Buffet had the same stuff.Our waitress was the best. Bartenders put us on the back burner when trying to order a drink. They would pay more attention to the people that spoke Spanish than us Americans that only spoke English. The pool area and the beach were nice. The girl at the towel booth was very very rude. This was a disappointing place to stay. I think the reviews on here are a joke. The people giving 5 stars are fake or people that work at the resort. We will not be back to this place. Don’t need a response because it will only be A.I. generated and not from a true person.

We were two adults who stayed for 5 days and our trip was amazing. All the hotel staff is extremely nice and are ready to help with a smile each time. Buffet food is good too, they change the menu every day and they have so many options so you're not always eating the same thing. The coffee shop and ice cream were great too. Our room was very clean when we arrived and towels and fridge were restocked every day.

I was very impressed with my stay at this resort! I usually keep my expectations reasonable, but Tropical Deluxe Princess exceeded them by a wide margin.
What stood out the most was the quality of the staff. I didn't encounter a single unhelpful or unprofessional person—which is honestly mind-blowing! Everyone was positive, attentive, and easy to communicate with, even though my Spanish is quite basic. This includes the front desk, bellmen, housekeeping, restaurant staff, and beach crew.
The rooms were clean, well-equipped, and comfortable. Mine looked either relatively new or recently renovated.
The food at the restaurants was mostly very good—better than I expected. The quality and variety were both solid and satisfying.
The resort grounds are large but still feel compact and easy to navigate. You can walk everywhere, or take a trolley that comes by every 5–10 minutes, so you're never waiting long.
I really liked the beach—it’s well-maintained and clean, with plenty of sunbeds and lots of space. There’s also a good mix of free and paid activities available.
On a previous trip, I stayed at another well-known all-inclusive resort in the area with a similar price point, but the difference in quality was significant in favor of Tropical Deluxe Princess. I can confidently say I’ll be coming back. This resort has everything I need, and it’s likely not worth looking for better options at this price.

Had technical issues with the plumbing in my first room, but it was resolved right away and was provided another room immediately. Food is great and the restaurants were great. The resort was very nice! Had a few things that we didn't like, our hotel room pillows smelled really bad, the pools didn't have any safety or stairs to get out easily, and the kids animation team wasn't very engaging to the kids.
The adult animation team was fun and friendly, and the food was tasty yet very repetitive.

This experience was amazing. The staff was super welcoming and helpful. The dancers were superb. The dancer Jeff made us feel like family and danced with us like there was no tomorrow! The bartenders at the swim up bar were super friendly. Wally and Remington also made us feel at home. Candida at the lobby bar was so amazing to us and took care of us as if we were her family. Frank at the food market restaurant was also a very friendly aura. Overall, this week has been such a magical experience and we will be visiting again.

The food was kind of okay I really think it could be better as well as the service, some people did not serve so well but in general everything was okay. The rooms were fine too, at the beginning missing some things like the hair dryer and extra towels. The animation team was extraordinarily amazing I appreciate the time and good energy they had. We stayed at this hotel in the beginning in June. The hotel is very nice and clean and the employees are very nice and polite, always with a smile, attentive and helpful.
Our butler, Jose, was outstanding, he was the best we ever had. Helped us set up our reservations at the restaurants and anything we wanted.
The restaurants were really good, food was tasty and well prepared. We paid for the Sun Club and it was worth it because they have a restaurant, Tierra, for Sun Club members that was delicious.
Cons:
If you are an older person that has problems walking or going up the stairs, this hotel is not for you. No elevators and if you get a room on the higher floors, you will need to walk up. Also, the hotel is really big and you will need to walk long distances.
The beach has rock, big rocks at the entrance. You will need water shoes and be very careful when you enter. Once you get a bit into the ocean, you will be okay, there are patches of sand. Going in and out of the ocean is a bit challenging.
The hotel needs to work on the bar area by the pool, specially the Sun Club area, sometimes they didn't have certain things for the drinks.
Overall, for the price, it is a good hotel and the employees were amazing!

This place is absolutely lovely, the staff are so friendly and nice, the service is impeccable, (although a bit slow at times) it’s very clean and there is so much to do.
What lets it down is the low quality and substandard food, and the cheap nasty drinks.
I thought while reading the reviews my, that maybe people just want to moan, and the resort did respond to most all of them saying that they will address the situation, they did not.
I’m not a food expert, or a drinks connoisseur, but I do have tastebuds, very low quality, dry meat dishes, bland veggie dishes, stale bread, very little flavour in anything, but visually stunning!
Honestly Sunscape, you need to do better, listen to your guests.

We were there for a reunion with my sister and brother in law. Spent 14 days. The weather was great. There are activities by the pool or the beach, at the square or the theater everyday. Lots of dancing, games and parties. The pool was great, the beach had rocks but just wear water shoes and it works. The food, it would be impossible for anyone not to find something they like. The service! They’re friendly and polite. Had the best masseuse named Orbida. Enjoyed it so much that I went for another massage before going home. Also had a great “maid” named Carmen Santana. Cleaned our room every day and refilled our refrigerator. We lived in block 4, which is close to everything. We just loved it.

Nice resort worth going premium for better quality spirits and full use of all bars, great beach area and water activities available, book at the beach hut for snokelling trip which was good.
Food quality is okay with lots of options.
Reception team i found to be very blaise as we booked a king sized bed and got a small double, after asking numerous times to the butler service (Inc with premium) and reception we gave up after 3 days chasing with no proper answer. I don't expect the hotel to read this review, but if offering a butler/contact service, then they really should be responding to messages.
Premium pool and bar (nice staff) very good varied with activities to fill the day. Evening shows were decent. If you book premium, once you get there, try and pre-book the restaurants on offer as these book up very fast. You can use the hotel link once there. $35 in cab from airport, took just under 30mins. Not a great deal outside of hotel apart from few restaurants, bars, supermarkets. Bring USD as ATM is only DOP and ATM's outside were mostly out of service. Ask questions if needed.
Overall a good hotel to book.

I purchased a day pass (~90 USD) for a Saturday in April. The day pass included access to most of the resort amenities (unlimited food and drinks, the beach, pools, fitness center, showers) and you could pay extra to access the spa. I was able to use the day pass from 10am - 6pm. I only paid for a regular access pass and found that the beach and buffet seating areas got very busy during peak times. They did have empty seating areas but these were for guest who paid for the premium membership. The buffet was average. It wasn’t very dietary restriction friendly. I am not sure if I was just unlucky, but I did find a hair in my food and then the next piece of fruit I picked up also had a bug on it.
I found the spa to be quite small (it was basically one room with 6 small jacuzzi tubs, sauna, and a hammam).
Most staff around the resort didn’t speak much English. However the staff at the reception spoke English fairly well! Great time to practice Spanish though. I felt safe on my own and found getting around the resort to be quite easy.
I found the quality of the resort to be good overall when compared to the cost of day passes for other nearby resorts.

I recently stayed at this resort as part of a group of 33 well-traveled, mature guests in our 50s. While we were looking forward to a relaxing and enjoyable experience, a few key areas fell short of expectations and I hope this feedback is received in the spirit of improvement.
1. Service Attitude: A noticeable issue throughout our stay was the tone and demeanor of many of the staff, particularly waiters and bartenders. While we appreciate a friendly environment, the level of informality and “confianza” shown often crossed into what felt like disrespect. There is a fine line between being approachable and being overly casual with guests, especially with a group of our size and demographic. A touch more professionalism and awareness would go a long way in elevating the guest experience.
2. Food Quality: This was unfortunately the biggest letdown. From the pool snack bar to the breakfast buffet, and even at the specialty restaurants (French, Italian, and Latin), the quality was subpar. Ingredients tasted cheap and meals lacked the execution one would expect at a resort of this level. While we understand not every dish can be a hit, the overall impression was one of inconsistency and disappointment.
We couldn’t help but wonder if these issues stem from deeper operational concerns—are employees overworked, underpaid, or inadequately trained? These factors often manifest in service attitude and food quality, and it may be worth revisiting staffing practices and training programs to ensure both employee morale and guest satisfaction are prioritized.
We genuinely hope our feedback helps inspire some internal reflection. The resort has potential, but these concerns must be addressed if it wants to retain discerning travelers.

There are so many positives yet negatives of this resort. Firstly, the resort was very clean and staff were great. The rooms on the Punta Cana side were average, the bathrooms were nice but the actual room was dated. The food at the Ala Carte restaurants was good but the buffet was average for an all inclusive. The resort itself and the beach were nice.
The entertainment could be so much better. There was hardly any music at the pools, no swim up bar (not the end of the world as they have servers but when it's busy you may be waiting a while) and the night life was very disappointing. The activities seemed to end early in the evening and even the club was disappointing.

The pools and beach were great!
Food was good. Service was good. The rooms are a little dated. The gym was excellent.
Only complaints were our room seemed like they didn’t clean our room a few times near the end. Sheets weren’t changed, and they didn’t restock the fridge.
Also, they allow vendors on site, and they were aggressive with wanting us to buy their items. Kind of turned me off.
Other than that it was a good vacation.

Just did a week long stay here and the service was unfortunately terrible. The only poolside staff that was AMAZING was Sergio. Our butler Martin was wonderful as well. We got the preferred club and the poolside service was not good- if you don’t tip right away, they are rude! Had many people turn their backs as we were trying to order, they literally make eye contact and walk away. The restaurant service was also not good. They can’t accommodate to any food, asked for chicken instead of shrimp in something and got told no with no explanation. Our room got cleaned 3 times of of 7 days, and we had to ask twice for it. I heard SEVERAL people say how bad service was everywhere, which was sad because we really looked forward to this trip as a new family. Also, they need more entertainment. We found ourselves bored often. I will say they were VERY sweet to our 8 month old which was nice. But overall, no.

I was there June 2025 for a cousin’s wedding. The resort is clean. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. The food is mediocre, but once you have the lay of the land, you can always find something good to enjoy. Our favorite hang out, away from kids playing around you, so we relax was the Blue Dorado. The bartenders there, Angel and David, were excellent!!!!!!! Drinks were always on point. They were fun and made our trip so much more fun.

My family and I had an amazing time staying at Dreams Royal Beach Punta Cana. Most of us stayed on the Preferred side, which was quiet. Amenities are great at this hotel, and the food was delicious (all-inclusive). I highly recommend the Preferred Club, because we also had access to a personal concierge, who was able to arrange reservations or events for us, which made the experience so much more relaxing. I would definitely come back to this resort! Wonderful stay!

We went during Spring break in March. This is a family resort so there wasn’t too much college kids. We requested a quiet room and we got it. Food was great, staff was amazing and we had a great time! The resort is super clean, didn’t see any dirty dishes/room service dishes left anywhere. At dinner they never let our water cups get below half full. As soon as you were done with your plate they took it. Very attentive. My whole family is gluten free and it was super easy for us to find things to eat. The gluten free pasta was amazing at the Italian restaurant, but the gluten free pizza was terrible. Would not get that again, taste like it was heated up from microwave. They had gluten free bread, rolls, muffins, buns, so we were able to have a good variety. This resort is shared by Secrets adults only resort and it was nice at night to leave our teen daughter in the room and have a little date with my husband at the coffee shop and do a little gambling at the casino within 1/4 mile from our room. The hotel has a large gate at the front and the resorts were towards the back away from the street. We always felt super safe. Would definitely recommend to a friend!

The property itself is absolutely beautiful but the food and service in the restaurants is terrible. As an all-inclusive my hopes for decent food weren’t very high, but they consistently fell below my modest expectations. One night dinner took almost 3 hours and they ignored my son’s allergy restriction. As I pointed to sesame seeds on his sushi they kept repeating “no sesame”.
Staff around the pool are friendly and attentive, but the lobby is filled with aggressive salespeople. The beaches were covered in thick seaweed and aggressive locals approach you every few minutes. I literally just changed my review while writing this from 2 stars to 1 after seeing our room service order. Skip this place unless you want to lose 5lbs on vacation.

The location is absolutely beautiful & the views are so nice. One thing that I really loved was the entertainment team especially Pablo who is always making his clients laugh and making sure they are having a good time. Definitely recommend this hotel!

Me and my family had a great time getting to know the Dominican Republic while staying at this great resort. The food and atmosphere were outstanding! There is a great variety of options for restaurants and a 24/7 cafe. Nice tropical landscape and easy access to the beautiful beach. They also helped us book an excursion to a theme park which included all transportation. An overall great experience!

Hotel was in a great location and most staff were nice and helpful. We had issues with the room upon arrival (wrong room, not the cleanest) that took 2 days to sort out so that was frustrating, food was ok, beach and pools were good. Plenty to do in the area with loads of cool excursions available. Restaurants were hit and miss but the buffet was pretty dependable outside of any sort of pastries, desserts etc. This resort seems best suited to families in my opinion.

This resort was perfect for my dad (69), myself and two kids (4 and 9). We loved that the big main pool was right next to the kid's pirate ship pool. We spent most our time there since the beach to the resort was full of seaweed. We were able to walk along the beach and find a clearer spot to get photos and dip in but it was short lived. The outdoor burger buffet, ice cream parlor and hibachi was our favorite as far as food. The big buffet was beautifully set up but most the food tasted bland. The room was nice, we had a connecting 2 bedroom and slept comfortably, AC worked great. We did find multiple red centipedes, and 1 roach in the bathroom though. Cleaning came daily. The spa was a 10/10 and worth the price. The $400 credit we received through booking with a travel agent is really only coupon like discounts but be sure to take advantage of $25 off every $100 spent at the resort especially if you do the spa. We had no issues getting golf carts to take us around. Our favorite staff member was Altagracia. She made us feel at home, and was so loving with the kids. Bringing $1-$5s came in handy for tipping, the staff so deserves. They work long hours and are always in a great mood looking to serve you.

Nice resort overall. Rooms were nice, spacious, and clean. Buffets were okay, but I am not a huge buffet person. I wish there were lunch options besides buffet style. You may not get a reservation at all the restaurants if you wait until you get there. The hibachi was pretty good and we enjoyed the Greek. The French was okay and easy to get into if you didn't have a reservation and don't want the buffet. Steakhouse was excellent. I would have made a reservation for two dinners there if I had known how delicious it was. Service throughout varied. Some servers were more attentive than others, but overall friendly. Pool is nice, and we didn't have any issues getting chairs. The $25 per day deal to book a cabana is great, but know that the "cabanas" near the pool are not really cabanas, they are more like day beds and only big enough for 2, maybe 3 adults. They are not shaded entirely depending on where the sun is. If you want a true cabana, go with one on the beach. Unfortunately, the cabana didn't have a server which was a bummer. I was there with friends, all in our 20s, and we liked the entertainment. Catered more toward kids early in the night, then more toward adults later in the night. Pool area entertainment was kind of the same everyday. Feel like they should be switching it up more. Overall good resort for the price, especially if you get one of the deals. I prefer a smaller resort, but probably a great resort if you have kids or are traveling with a group of many different ages.

For our first vacation ever it was amazing. The service was amazing, beach was amazing, our butler Francisco went above and beyond. We did the Bali bed on the beach and Nelson was amazing always checking in on us and serving beverages and food! The rooms were perfect and food was most definitely good. We had a great time at this resort. Service was great, they are trying to make you feel so comfortable and welcome. Everyone was trying above and beyond. The property is very well maintained, everything is spotless. There are a plenty of food options, bars are everywhere. Beach is breathtaking. We were here with 2 kids and we enjoyed it very much. Cleaning lady Maria did amazing job, our room always looked amazing!

We have just returned from a two week stay and it was absolutely fantastic. The staff all round the complex were very friendly and helpful especially Marie who cleaned our room, Monica in Coco cafe and Renaldo who made my omelette in the morning. The area around the pools were very clean and plenty of lounges with shade as the temperature was very hot. The short walk to the beach was very good and it was everything the brochure said it was. We booked a 10 dive package and from Daniel on reception to all the dive masters they were extremely helpful and very friendly, especially Regina and boat crew who helped with all our dive gear. The entertainment was very professional especially the water show on the Saturday evening. The food in the World Cafe was amazing, everything you could ask for as to the specific restaurants.

Our group of 2 families (4 adults and 3 youth) had a wonderful stay here for 9 days in mid-March.
I have a lot of positive things to say about this resort, beginning with the Entertainment Staff. A big reason why we enjoyed this resort was Jerry. Jerry is an absolute delight and one of the highlights of our stay. He involved my 12- and 15-year-old boys in the games and activities throughout our entire stay. Always friendly and welcoming, smiling, dancing and entertaining! He even got my 15-year-old son to dance! In addition to Jerry, other entertainers - Champion, Chicken Boy, El Baby added to the fun. Champion’s auction at the beach was another highlight!
The staff all around was great – from housekeeping to pool/lobby bar, dining and towel staff. A shoutout to Marcelo at the pool bar for his positive and fun energy!
Room was one of the nicest we have had at a resort, spacious and clean. Towel service was also excellent. No need for towel cards and the towels were always fresh and clean.
A La Carte restaurants were excellent – no reservations was a huge bonus, and we never waited more than a few minutes for a table.
Coco Café was great to have on resort – my husband and I went here for our morning coffees every day. Barefoot Grille at the beach was also great – pizzas were excellent for a midday snack.
The shows were entertaining – especially the Water and Circus shows.
Beach is beautiful – turquoise water and white sand. While not a challenge to get chairs at the beach, lack of shade was a bit of an issue. One of my only complaints is that those who pay for Preferred Club get better access to shade.
My only other complaint was the lack of activity post-11pm. And that’s saying something for someone who normally goes to sleep at 10pm! Some musical entertainment until midnight would be a nice addition. And while there is a sports bar and disco across from the a la carte restaurants, these were not well-publicized and therefore nobody seemed to go to them. The same holds true for the teen club (which my kids used but they were the only ones there).
All in all, an excellent stay at an excellent resort, thanks to Jerry and the rest of the entertainment staff.

I’m always a bit skeptical coming to an all inclusive but I have to say that this place has exceeded all my expectations. The food has been incredibly fresh (especially the juice bar in the buffet!). Everyone is genuinely excited to serve you or help with any request that you have. If you have any reservations about this hotel I can assure you it’s not warranted. You will have a great time and leave feeling incredibly refreshed and glad you vacationed here. “Chocolate” or Francisco really went out of his way ensure we had a trip worth remembering.

We came for my friends birthday and the room decorations were so fun. The pools are the perfect temperature and the staff made it a lot of fun, shoutout to Ricardo especially for looking after everyone and bringing a fun energy.
The entertainment team brought so much dance and energy and there were lots of really fun events, I highly recommend going to the foam party.
The restaurants were amazing and the food was delicious, I would highly recommend the steakhouse and the Japanese restaurant.

My husband and I have been going to Majestic Elegance for the past 7 years. We choose this resort for a few reasons. The service you get is outstanding. We stay on the club side (adults only). There is a private pool for adults, beach access for adults only and also restaurants. The resort is all inclusive so everything is included in your stay. The people are very friendly and will accommodate your every need. It is the cleanest resort, we have been to other resorts in the Dominican Republic and also the Caribbean and we keep coming back to Majestic Elegance for the best vacation. It is also cost effective.

One of the Best Stays – Truly Exceptional Experience!
Having previously stayed at a Secrets Resort in Mexico (a sister brand), I arrived with high expectations — and I’m thrilled to say that this hotel not only met them but exceeded them in every possible way.
As a vegetarian, my mother often struggles to find satisfying food options while travelling, particularly in the Caribbean. However, that was certainly not the case here. The Executive Sous Chef, Octavio, went above and beyond to personally ensure my family and I were happy with every meal. He even created customised dishes tailored to her dietary needs. His warmth, attentiveness, and genuine hospitality were simply outstanding, and he is a true credit to the hotel.
Beyond the exceptional service, the hotel itself was beautiful — offering a relaxed and welcoming ambience, excellent facilities, and quality entertainment throughout our stay. Whether you’re travelling as a couple, with family, or even solo, this resort delivers a perfect blend of comfort, luxury, and thoughtful service.
I would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly and without hesitation. It was genuinely a great travel experience and we would return in a heartbeat.

We had a wonderful time at Dreams Macao. Our butler Miguel was amazing. He answered all our questions and he was always available. Raul was our beach go to person and he was great. Carmen cleaned our room every day and she was amazing. This resort is beautiful and has become our favorite out of all the many resorts we have stayed at in Punta Cana over the years. We had an oceanfront master suite and it was spectacular!

The beach is okay, but nothing spectacular. Could have just as great of a beach in Florida for a lot less money. The real kicker at this hotel though is the service. We have stayed at multiple all inclusive resorts and this one has had the worst service of any of them. We booked a preferred club swim out room, the preferred check-in was a nightmare and took way longer than just going to a desk to check in. They sit you down and give you a drink to distract from the utter chaos that is going on around you. There was absolutely nothing special about this check in process and it honestly was more irritating than just checking in at a front desk. The swim out sweet has zero privacy!!! You are slapped next to a main sidewalk with every drunk as walking past you all day. Save your money and don’t book that, it is not special at all. Also while trying to check in there are people just constantly trying to sell you stuff. Annoying is the only word that comes to mind. The entire first day at the resort felt annoying to be quite frank. Constantly getting hassled by vendors all over the resort. Every where you go someone is trying to sell you something. There wasn’t even a good place to have a peaceful glass of wine, not even the preferred lounge… still chaos, still people trying to sell you crap. Our dinner restaurant was loud and the service was mediocre at best. Still had people trying to sell you on stuff walking around the restaurant… and this was a preferred club only restaurant. This was the exact opposite of a relaxing vacation. Honestly I’d go back to the Grand Bavaro Princess 👸🏾any day for half the price. This resort ruined my honeymoon and I will never stay at another Hyatt owned resort if these are their standards. You can definitely have a better vacation elsewhere for a lot less money.

The best vacation I’ve been on. The staff is so friendly and welcoming and made my stay so much better. There was a wide variety of food with lots of entertainment as well. Every night they had a new show and they were so unique in their own way which gave me something to look forward to every night. Dora made my stay so amazing. She was so friendly and I was able to have personal conversations with her and by the end of my trip I was able to call her my friend. She is so bubbly and was so fun to be around. Overall I would recommend Dreams to all my friends and will for sure be back in the future!

My wife and I attended a wedding at the resort from May 2 - May 6, and loved it! The resort is clean and well kept, the rooms are modern and have the amenities needed, and the beds are comfortable. Let's get the nits out of the way - the basins in the bathroom don't leave much counter space for toiletries; with one of the showers, you could not turn off the hand piece so that both heads were running at the same time; the drawers in the chest were a little sticky; that's it. The food was good, the staff was very attentive and friendly, the beach was great with plenty of space, and the pools were large and clean. The entertainment was good as well. I'll specifically thanks Catherine the server on the beach - she was friendly and kept our glasses full! Always a big smile too. In fact, I found all of the staff to be great. Everyone greeted you. We would definitely go back!

I went with my family to celebrate my mother's birthday. On the second day at the hotel, we all started falling down with a really bad stomach bug. One by one, leaving none of the bad symptoms behind. All 5 down. Started hearing other people talking, pretty much every group we interacted with had people who either had been sick or were sick. All the way through, hotel staff would say "how strange you are sick" pretending nothing was wrong (at an all inclusive where everything you drink or eat is given on site). Mysteriously at the hotel shop there were selling overpriced medicine for vomits and diarrhea - coincidence? Can't say what it was but the quality of the food is definitely not 5 stars, and you can count on big plastic containers sitting outside the fridge with meat for long periods of time, local ice melting quickly (bad quality) in every glass and averagely cooked food all-around.
Other than that, get ready to go to an all inclusive where they'll keep hassling you constantly to pay for things, upgrades, membership, spa, you name it and in the most intrusive way possible - we even have hotel staff standing next to us, saying no word at all, just staring at us.
Beach is pretty, rooms are they've done an amazing job taking good photos of the property, gardens are beautiful but it's something about how it's being ran that makes it a no go for me.
Had heard good things about Iberostar before - not sure I'd give them a second chance. Needless to say I wouldn't go back and would seriously encourage anyone to think about it twice before heading there.

We had a negative experience regarding customer treatment. We really liked the beach near the hotel, and on the beach we were met by a staff member named Franklin. We told him we liked the beach and were considering coming here for a vacation. He invited us to return the next day for a hotel tour. We were supposed to be welcomed, taken to breakfast, then given a tour of the hotel, allowed two hours to relax on the hotel grounds, and finally receive a proposal for a future vacation.
However, in reality, things turned out quite differently. We were greeted and then passed from manager to manager with offers for Iberostar club membership. We had to remind them that we had been promised breakfast, but it turned out breakfast was already over, so we were taken for snacks instead. After that, we were shown a room and the beach, and then they resumed trying to sell us the club membership.
Eventually, a manager Francisco
came to ask for feedback on our experience. We pointed out that although the presentation was nice, it was not what had been promised the day before. Instead of trying to fix the situation, he continued offering us club membership, which by that point we viewed completely negatively.
We were genuinely interested in purchasing a week-long stay here, but this kind of treatment left us with a very poor impression. They didn’t even listen to us and just kept trying to sell us something we hadn’t asked for. It’s a real pity that we cancelled another tour to get to know this hotel. It seems that here, customers are seen only as wallets, and their wishes or feedback go unheard.
As a result, we ended up with three hours of a negative experience and a cancelled island excursion.
To make things worse, in their apology message here, the hotel didn’t even bother to update the old template and ended up calling me Kevin :(

Dreams Onyx offers a mix of highs and lows that make it a decent choice for families, though not without its drawbacks.
First, the customer service stands out in a positive way—staff are friendly, attentive, and generally eager to help. This level of service goes a long way in making your stay comfortable.
The rooms are modern and clean, with upscale touches, but the layout can be a bit puzzling. Some design choices feel counterintuitive, which may cause minor inconveniences, though not deal-breakers.
When it comes to food and drinks, experiences can be hit-or-miss. There are some solid options, but consistency is lacking, and many of the cocktails don’t quite live up to expectations.
One major downside is the beach. The seaweed situation is overwhelming, and although the resort clearly tries its best to manage it, the volume is simply too great to overcome. Unfortunately, this makes the beach largely unusable for swimming or lounging.
On a brighter note, the pools and kid-friendly amenities are excellent. Families will appreciate the multiple pools, water slides, and a range of fun features like a game room, bowling alley, and bumper cars—all of which help make up for the beach disappointment.
In summary, Dreams Onyx is a solid pick for families prioritizing poolside fun and activities over beach time, with great service and kid-focused amenities helping balance out some of the weaker areas.

Our Dreams experience was wonderful. From the moment we got there my partner and I were greeted with champagne and cold towels! The staff was so kind and enthusiastic everyday- and you begin to feel like a regular after only a few days! The Bluewater grill was the most phenomenal meal we had at the resort! Their skirt steak was cooked to perfection every time and service was extremely quick.

The resort is beautiful, maintained very well. Plenty to do… the one thing I will say is the staff here is incredible, from the bartenders, to wait staff.. house keepers and everyone in between. They literally treat you like family and are extremely appreciative to you and they all do a great job. I was particularly impressed with the house keeper I had for my weeks stay. She didn’t speak much English, but was smiling constantly….. and had such a good work ethic. It’s because of the friendly staff all around why I would come back. The only hiccup here is not anything to do with the resort, but I really think they should invest in their own airport transportation….. it’s an absolute nightmare using the third party service to and from the airport. Enjoyed my weeks stay here, some of the best people I have ever met in the world work here!

Service was good but better when you got certain people. Special shout out to the young and hardworking Starlin who made our stay more enjoyable. Most of the food was great and the buffet had plenty of options. The beach could have been better due to the seaweed and the algae. The entertainment team was great. The room appeared as the pictures but the bathroom situation was awkward and not well thought out. The room could have been cleaner and the outside jacuzzi was not usable due to all the sap coming down from the wood. The whole porch was full of it. Overall 4 stars.

While we really enjoyed our stay in February 2025 I do have a few suggestions.
1) For a kid friendly resort lunch options are limited for kids. The buffet is great but snack huts with chips, granola bars, etc would go a long way! Also would love to see chicken tenders and French fries added to the room service menu and maybe even a macaroni dish.
2) While I understand the need to spray for mosquitos, we were literally fogged on our way to dinner the first night. We do not like to subject ourselves to inhaling pesticides so maybe best to do this at night when most are asleep or early morning.
3) The lounge chairs and cabanas are showing their age and in my opinion are in need of replacement.
4) Map was very unhelpful as nothing is marked clearly and resort is huge. A golf cart tour upon arrival would have been great!
5) Lastly.for a family resort I suggest implementing smoking areas. My kids were bothered by the smoking that was allowed everywhere (pools, shows, etc).
Overall staff is friendly, food is good and housekeeping was amazing. We loved the nightly shows and our kids were always entertained by the daily activities!

I stayed here for 5 days, and it was beautiful. We truly enjoyed ourselves during our time here. Osvaldo our butler was amazing, and very attentive he made sure to find us everyday to make sure we were okay even if we didn’t need anything. The nighttime entertainment was cool, they had a little something for everyone which was great. The bartenders made the drinks really well, even created some just for us. The only thing is we wish the restaurant had a little more of a Dominican flair. Not to say that the food wasn’t good, just wish it catered more to the Dominican culture. On our last days, we met Roberto, he was a sweet guy, making sure we were also good.

We stayed here for 10 days and had the best experience! Our butler, Eduardo, was incredible—always attentive, kind, and he constantly made us laugh. If you have the chance to request him during your stay, absolutely do it! He made such a difference.
At the adults-only pool, Omar and Daisy were beyond amazing! Not only did they make sure our drinks were always perfect, but they genuinely made sure we were having a great time. They were fun, welcoming, and great conversationalists—people you actually look forward to seeing each day.

We loved our stay at Majestic Mirage. From the moment we arrived, the staff greeted us with so much genuine kindness. Everyone truly goes out of their way to make you feel so special, welcomed, and relaxed. We stayed in a swim-up suite and it was beautiful, spacious, and luxurious. Our butler, Jacobo Alvarado(he also goes by Alvaro) was the highlight of our trip. His attentiveness, professionalism, and warm personality made our anniversary trip unforgettable. We can't say enough good things about him, he truly went above and beyond for us throughout the entire trip. We are already looking forward to returning in the future.

We had the best toe at the Majestic Mirage! Great food and entertainment! The rooms were fantastic and we treated with 5 star service. We really enjoyed spending our days in the vast pool. The staff at the Mirage made our experience that we will never forget. Roberto and staff were the best!!! Also, our butler Esteban was amazing. Joel made us a special drink every day.

Our butler Deleon was super helpful and accommodated us wonderfully throughout our vacation. Beautiful resort with huge rooms and lots of food options. The liquor/drink options are plentiful, with lots of top shelf choices. The shows at night were fun and very interactive as well. The club lounge was a nice touch to stop in and grab fresh towels, snack/drink, and to cool off in air conditioning. We would stay here again!

We have just spent a week at this resort and we had an outstanding experience. The resort is beautiful, the service impeccable, the rooms are fabulous and we had terrific experiences with all the restaurants/foods. Christopher was our concierge and catered to all our needs very quickly, securing all our dinner reservations and addressing all our questions. Great service. Raffael on the beach looked after us all week, securing our sun loungers, bringing us our drinks all day, fantastic. The full team of servers and waiters at the restaurants were great with fabulous service from Rosanna and Junior at the buffet. Thank you to all for making this a standout trip for our whole family.

A Wonderful Stay with Exceptional Service
My experience at this hotel has been truly outstanding. The staff deserves a solid 10 out of 10 for their service—everyone has been incredibly polite, helpful, and professional. A special shout-out to Oscar, the bartender, who was always attentive and on the ball—he really elevated the experience. When it comes to dining, both the Blue Agave restaurant and the Italian restaurant get my vote—delicious food and great ambiance. Highly recommend!

Special shoutout to our favorite bartenders at Rum Republic Miguel, Melvin, Milagro, made us the best Lemon Drops! Thank you Jose and Rosie at Brisas who made us feel so special and seen everyday! And lastly our wonderful waitress at Mina restaurant, Yuderqui, and the amazing manager Dionys, so sweet and personable, thank you for making our experience so great! Blue Agave restaurant in the Paradisus Palma Real resort was outstanding. We were greeted by a friendly host with a smile on her face. Our server, Alexander was amazing (letting me know the enchiladas I ordered was a little spicy.). I ordered it anyway, and it was absolutely amazing. The supervisor, Milton, came to check on us frequently and was very friendly. My husband had the best chicken burrito he’s ever had in his life, and the dessert was to die for! We will definitely be back!!! OK

We had excellent service above and beyond expectations at the poolside during our stay. Rosanna was our server for first 3 days and highly recommend asking for her! 5 stars!! We also had the best customer service by our concierge Kelvin. He went out of his way every single day to make our time at the Paradisus Palma Real amazing. We could go on and on about the beautiful grounds and amazing service at this resort. We loved the great variety of restaurants and tried them all. You can stay as busy with activities offered or as relaxed as you want in a cabana at the beach or pool. This trip is worth every penny!!

Pros and Cons... Good time but won't return, not worth the money compared to other resorts...
Pros:
The food was good, tons of options.
Pools were beautiful, also with plenty of options depending on the scene you are going for (party v. relax).
We never had any trouble finding a lounge chair on the beach or at the pools - also during our time, never waited more than a couple of minutes on any line.
The water park was a blast!
Loved the escape room - but keep in mind it's $45pp- in fact, keep in mind that other than the water park, all the teen/kidish activities are not included, so you can easily spend hundreds of extra dollars and these.
The staff were really great, friendly and fast with service.
Cons:
This place feels manufactured/commercial - rather than that feeling of "paradise" you want when you're going to this kind of destination. It until you go down to the beach, it completely lacks that wonder and awe feeling of other resorts.
The hotel lobby is supposed to be your first feeling of paradise and it just feels like a regular (large) hotel.
There is one large building where many of the restaurants are, basically all of the non pool activities, shopping, etc. all are It gets crazy busy at night and feels like you're walking thru a busy casino in Vegas rather than a tropical getaway (I love Vegas, but I don't want a tropical resort to feel that way).
For a Hard Rock, there was hardly any music! There were tribute bands/performances on some nights, and one other live band one night, and that was it. There definitely seemed to be a lack of what we expected for entertainment.

This resort was a great pick for my family (spouse, 17 y/o, and 8 y/o). The all-inclusive amenities were above average. There were some paid amenities (bowling, laser tag, mini golf, arcade) but the fee was nominal, in my opinion ($10 per person). You can tell the property is older but it has been kept really well. For the most part the staff were very friendly and helpful. My 8 y/o LOVED the kids club, which was a great amenity for when my husband and I wanted to go to the casino.

This is the 3rd time I have stayed. Wonderful pools and service varied with each restaurant. Some wonderful service some not so great. Food is good for Punta Cana. If you are a beach person is nice to sit and watch the waves but the surf is rough and usually red flagged. But no worries there are 10 pools available. The "Vacation club" push is apparent but didn't seem to push too much, but they knew I was a travel agent.

Only downside was the food. Selection and quality has definitely decreased over the years. Hopefully they try and improve in this category.

I bought a packaged deal that included Flight, transportation to and from resort and airport, all inclusive. Great location, friendly staff, beach access, great pools and show activities. Many of the restaurants had buffet style food choices, but the food carts/trucks throughout hotel were great. We stayed in a room closer to the beach, but the shuttles stopped by about every 10 minutes and took us to the lobby or other areas of resort. The resort is big, but it is walkable. Shout out to Maite and Stephanie bartenders in the guitar pool bar. They were very attentive and friendly. Moises driving the shuttles around the hotel was always happy and friendly. He made the rides around the property feel like I was really on a vacation. Thanks.
