I had a great stay at Vista Sol Punta Cana Beach Resort & Spa! The staff was friendly and attentive, the grounds were well-maintained, and the beach was beautiful. I especially enjoyed the swim-up bar and the variety of restaurants. Here are some things to keep in mind:
* The rooms are a bit on the small side, but they were clean and comfortable.
* The food was good, but not amazing. There is a variety of restaurants to choose from, so you should be able to find something you like.
* The beach is beautiful, but the waves can be a bit rough. There are also vendors selling souvenirs on the beach, which can be annoying for some people.
Overall, I had a great experience at Vista Sol and would recommend it to others looking for an affordable all-inclusive resort in Punta Cana.

The resort is very nice, clean and well-maintained right on the beachfront. Location is too close to the nearby beachfront shops and not very safe if you younger ones, especially at nights trying sell you you drugs etc... eventhough there is security to keep an eye.
Service, food and drinks were overall good, however your options are limited for drink type. It is a natural beauty, beaches are really nice, no rocks etc....highly recommend.

We were 4 families, 11 people, and we all experienced these issues throughout our 1 week trip at Vista Sol. We have been to plenty all inclusive hotels in different countries and I will never understand how this hotel qualifies as a 4 star hotel. At best it falls somewhere between a 2 and 3. Absolutely atrocious, for the following reasons:
•AC sucks - all the rooms smell musty
•Buffet area has no AC, it is insanely hot and humid, ceiling fans that barely make any difference. And you are forced to sit in heat and humidity to eat your food while sweating. It's so unpleasant. Not to mention the food is sitting in heat all day, not even over ice. Major health hazard.
•No wifi anywhere, aside from the beach
•The shuttle never picked us up from the airport
•Food is atrocious, there is no FINE dining. Not a single restaurant, including the buffet, had good food.
• barely any chicken, mostly park throughout all dining
•Pools are dirty, ducks swimming and pooping in them
•It's not all inclusive, there are upcharges and extras you have to pay for, like using a security deposit box
•hotel nurses and medics are absolute thieves taking advantage of tourists in their most vulnerable state.
•The staff were all so unfriendly and unhelpful, unlike any other resorts we've been to.
•No shampoo or conditioner in showers
•Power went out multiple times every day, and it wasn't during a rainstorm.
• Water smelled like sulfur
•Our hotel room was never cleaned unless we asked them to clean it, and even then only the beds were made.
•none of the telephones in any room worked, if you wanted room service you had to walk all the way down to the lobby, which is pretty far no matter which tower you're in. Or if there was an emergency, how do you contact the front desk?
•blankets are not blankets, they're a tiny bit thicker than the sheets
•bugs in all rooms
•rooms are very dated, facilities worn down

I stayed 6 nights. First room, very dated and absolutely no wifi signal in building 11. Paid an additional $50 per night to move to renovated building #5 with signal. I don't like buffets, so I wanted to make dinner reservations for each night. They don't allow more then 4 reservations. Spoke to agent and he said nothing could be done. We proceeded to the non air-conditioned buffet and sweated while eating. Food quality is below average and constantly runs out and barely changes from lunch to dinner. Drink quality has a lot of variance. Housekeeping was skipped one day and we had no towels with dinner reservations in an hour and a half. We called and was promised towels would be delivered. Called again in 30 minutes then again 30 minutes later with urgency. The porter answered and said he hasn't delivered the towels because it's raining and he doesn't want to get wet! When informed we have no time to shower and be ready for dinner he then acquiesced and delivered the towels. When the hair dryer was needed due to no time to dry, it didn't work. When we wanted coffee in the room, the coffee maker didn't work. When we told the housekeepers if they could show us how to use the coffee maker, they told us it doesn't work and needs replacement before we could finish asking the question! Alas, it was never replaced. When I couldn't figure out the safe programing, I called and they indictated there is a $10 charge to use it! When we needed an iron, we were told a $20 deposit is needed to be given one. When a feminine napkin was needed, it was $15 for 8. Most employees that are not in food/beverage are always on their phones not greeting guests or observing, especially the gym. He sits in a corner watching videos on speakerphone and doesn't even look at guests as they enter or when using machines. Staff behaves as if they don't know how to be hospitable and haven't been trained at all.

Place was not bad the room were a cold when you had the fan on and hot without it. The blanket are regular white thin sheet you find in American hotels. A few bugs here and there. Not lot of people speak English so gestures or google translate it. Otherwise the pool and beach was good make sure to go to the pool early as the water get hot late.
