Home away from home!!!! We were at St James Club for two weeks mid June. We had a wonderful time. The staff was friendly and very attentive. The food was fresh with lots of variety. We enjoyed the waterspouts and the Mamora Bay resort. There was some seaweed on the Coco Beach side, but well taken care of. Kudos to the front desk team in sorting out some small issues. Special mention to Darius, Donna, Elton and Sandra. We will be back in the near future

Overall it was a great stay. The staff were friendly and attentive. Service for the reserved dinner time slots were alittle too slow, and portions were too small. We should have ordered a few items maybe if that is possible. We ended up stopping at the buffet for alittle more food afterwards. The music was always great to listen to in the evenings. We enjoyed sitting in the lounge chairs near the bar listening with a drink before and after dinner at the docksider. Disappointed about the seaweed on the beach, but we understand it is seasonal and is constantly coming in. Too bad there is not a better solution rather than the tractors and by hand. Like a net or something quicker. We felt bad for them having to work so hard on that for so long too. Didn’t realize how big of a resort it was and it is all pretty spread out so I could see how anyone older or with disabilities may struggle. It did help to keep us in better shape though.

The St. James is a very nice resort. It was classic in Caribbean decor and allowed us to enjoy a wonderfully slow island pace. The sargassum seaweed was prominent on the Atlantic side of the peninsula. I felt for the workers trying to clean it up. It's not their fault. We were in a villa on the bay side and it was just lovely. No sargassum issues at all. The staff were kind and thoughtful. We had the same waiters/waitresses each day, and by the end of the week, they felt like family. We enjoyed the daily/nightly entertainment! Thank you for putting so much thought into these events! My only nudge to the hotel is to improve the food quality and provide more breakfast options.

Beautiful Island. The resort is nice, can use some updating, but the staff is not very welcoming nor accommodating, The food choices/options was terrible except on Saturday, Found ourselves eating off the resort which cost more money. The activities they posted about did not happen. As a returning guest I was disappointed in not having the same activities as my prior visit, other than the front desk and the gift shop, the staff had attitudes, and was bothered when asked for anything. Also roach in room and also in coffee shop, and was a lot of work being done in the day time in rooms next to ours, so you could not get any quite. Spoke to Management but didn’t remedy any of our concerns. Birds also an issue at breakfast.

I recently visited st James club with my wife, 18 month old as well as 4 other adults in our party. After reading reviews I was worried about the service but We were greeted by 2 great front desk workers, one being Brianna and the others name started with a D and I know I’ll misspell it. They were great and very helpful. The clubs location is great while we were there it felt like it was empty which was awesome not feeling overcrowded when going to do things. We spent most of our time on the resort enjoying the beach which was great, great clear water and make sure to have piper give you a foot message. I also want to give a special shout out to Deshaun who works in the little store there. She was so helpful and even went to the store to grab diapers for my son as we unfortunately forgot to pack enough so she definitely. While the location was great and we had great encounters with the workers I’ll say the worst part of the trip was how slow it was to get food at all the restaurants . We went to the rainbow garden for dinner one night with a 6:30 reservation. It took 3 and a half hours. The service being so slow at the restaurants made it so by the time you were done eating you didn’t have much time to do other activities. St James needs to invest in making sure that people are receiving fast service even trying to grab a quick snack would take at minimum an hour.

Absolutely beautiful setting! The views are stunning, and everything is just steps away- beach, pools, restaurants, and more. The kids club had awesome activities that my 6-year-old loved, which gave us some time to relax too. The room was really basic, but it was serviced daily and the mini bar, including snacks, was restocked daily. We also really enjoyed the gym classes- such a nice bonus while on vacation. We had a great stay!

The resort itself has amazing views and a lovely beach. The aesthetics are nice but could use some minor repairs here and there. We encountered a bug issue in our room on our last night. Additionally, be prepared to request washcloths every day, as housekeeping does not replace them when cleaning the room. The elevators that take you to your room are extremely small, and the buttons are often broken. The island is beautiful, with stunning views, rich culture, and history. However, I suggest spending your money at a resort where you will be valued and welcomed.

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT spend your money at this resort! This was supposed to be a relaxing vacation and a great experience, but it is the opposite. I booked this resort from JetBlue Vacation, for a family of 6 hoping to have a beautiful experience at Royalton Antigua, but we REGRET it. First of all, the front desk customer service check-in is terrible, 80 percent of the staff working at the resort always have a mean face and do not want to be bothered. The room smelled moldy, I booked two rooms under the same reservation yet they placed us on two opposite sides of the resort, they could even put us on the same floor even though we have young children. There are only 3 restaurants on site other than the buffet and the sports bar, we could t find space to make a reservation at any of them, we were only able to eat at Hunter The host that evening was able to fit us in due to someone not showing up for their reservation. We requested to book a reservation on our last night to celebrate my mother’s birthday However e the host who took our reservation booked us at the room restaurants. During our stay here I can count only five staff who made us feel comfortable here. Other than that the hospitality is at 0. I do not recommend this resort if you want to have a great experience in Antigua.

What was meant to be a relaxing getaway for my family turned into one of the worst experiences we’ve ever had. We’ve made it a tradition to celebrate my mother’s birthday at different resorts, and we’ve never encountered anything like this before. From the moment we arrived, the tone was set. Even the driver who brought us in warned us, saying, “Royalton is a beautiful place, but don’t expect the service to be great.” Unfortunately, that statement turned out to be true. I had booked two rooms under one reservation—one for my wife and me, and another for my mother and children. Despite this, we were placed in rooms on opposite sides of the resort, on different floors. This made absolutely no sense, especially given the single payment and simultaneous booking. When they tried to “fix” the issue, they moved us to a room with a view of trees—far from the quality we expected or paid for. To make matters worse, I had made a special dinner reservation for my mother’s birthday. I was assured by the reservation host that everything was arranged for our group. But when we arrived at the Caribbean restaurant, we were told my name wasn’t on the list and that a reservation had been made instead at the Italian restaurant—something I never requested. At that point, I had reached my limit. The customer service throughout our stay was appalling, and the hospitality made us feel like we were an inconvenience rather than guests. I would never recommend this resort to anyone. My family and I were left deeply disappointed and frustrated by the entire experience.

Based on the extremely contradictory reviews we had read prior to arriving at the resort, we were unsure as to whether the hotel was the best choice but after being at the hotel for a few days, we realised that the reviews vastly contradicted our positive experience. In our opinion, the positives far outweigh the few negatives, and we would definitely recommend the resort. Food - the buffet had a wide selection of dishes, that were tasty. Although the food was not hot the majority of the time, we still enjoyed the food that was available. The Caribbean restaurant was delicious. The food at the Steakhouse and the Italian restaurant was also nice. Staff - a majority of the staff were friendly and approachable, in particular Sharon, who was lovely. There were only a few instances where interactions were not reciprocal in terms of energy, or were not the best due to slow service. Entertainment - we were constantly entertained with the night performances and shows that were interactive plus music. Room - very spacious, the only few issues were that not all the towels were completely clean and that upon arrival one of the bed sheets had small stains on it. After a few days it was changed though. However, the pillow cases upon closer look did have some stains throughout our stay. In addition, a few days into our stay there was a slight flooding situation from an AC in another room that leaked into several rooms. The staff were cleaning the room however we wouldn’t have known about the issue if we hadn’t popped back into our room during the day. We also had to call someone to further clean up the water as some still remained. Views - are amazing as is the whole island. Overview - there is definitely room for improvement in certain areas but overall our two week stay was a very enjoyable experience indeed.

Rating: ★☆☆☆☆ (1 out of 5 — only because zero isn’t an option) Our experience at Jolly Beach in Antigua was extremely disappointing. The customer service was virtually nonexistent — unhelpful and inattentive. The food selection was very poor, and items frequently ran out with no effort to restock. To make matters worse, the cleanliness was unacceptable. Our blanket had visible mildew spots, and my husband had to kill small bugs in the room. That alone made it hard to feel comfortable. Even basic amenities were missing — we had no lotion or proper toiletries. When we requested lotion, we were told it wasn’t available. For a resort, that’s completely unacceptable. We only stayed one night, and that was more than enough. I absolutely do not recommend this place to anyone. It fell far below even basic standards of hospitality.

We were looking to find a budgeted girls trip and found Jolly Beach Resort & Spa with American Express travel. We read the reviews prior to going and knew that we would not be vacationing at a 4 star resort. The rooms were small and the twin beds were very close to each other. The bathroom sliding door continually came off of the tracks when opening and closing. The air conditioning was very good. The view of the ocean from the room was outstanding. The room would have been 4 star if it was updated, the view of the ocean and sunset was awesome. Initially, the staff were not very friendly. June became our favorite bartender. We loved the singing lady at the buffet breakfast. Many of the staff did not seem excited and lacked energy, but some did warm up after we were there a few days. Typically at a resort or hotel, the staff is very accommodating and friendly. I have seen other reviews where the staff was described as rude, and unfortunately it is true. Here, they could use training on delighting the customer. The Pizza Factory restaurant was very nice and elevated the dining experience with a very nice wait staff and menu. However, dining at the Pizza Factory requires you make a reservation at 7:30am in person. That isn't too terrible because there is coffee and tea available while you wait. The beach was amazing! There were ample chairs and umbrellas so there was no need to reserve early in the morning. The chairs and umbrellas could stand to be replaced as many were worn. Alex the massage therapist on the beach was fantastic, definitely a bonus that I did not expect. His reflexology is amazing. I think I would try a 4 star resort on my next visit to Antigua for total relaxation and service. I loved Jolly Beach, but would like to experience a 4 or 5 level resort.

Review for Jolly Beach Resort: I stayed here for my birthday and honestly, I was disappointed. My room was up several stairways, far from everything. The Wi-Fi didn’t work in the room and was unstable around the property. The TV cable wasn’t clear, the shower was noisy, and the bathroom was very small. Lunch varied but was of poor quality. Dinner and breakfast were fine. The staff in the Palm Restaurant were respectful and polite, and the bar staff were great. However, the staff at the restaurant by the pool were not welcoming at all their attitude made the experience uncomfortable. I stayed my full three nights since it was already booked, but I won’t be returning unless things improve.

I read somewhere this is a 3star resort with a 5 star beach/location. That is the most accurate representation of this property. While the hotel is dated and in need of major TLC the people at the resort are positively wonderful! There were some staff members who went out of their way to make sure our stay was comfortable including Margaret at the tour desk and the bartenders Kadie, William & Lesroy . The singing lady at the breakfast dining hall was also a treat and the older lady at the coconut grill was super nice. Back to the property review- we kept our expectations fairly low because we knew what we booked. With that being said meals were basic but good, with variety. Breakfast and dinner included live stations. There was live entertainment nightly at the long bar. Initially we were assigned in St Thomas wing, far left of the property which was not well lit . Safety could be an issues for solo/female travellers. Also our room ac stopped working and we had to be transferred but the process was lengthy.. if I wasn’t a tenacious person and didn’t keep calling they would have probably done nothing about it. Eventually we were reassigned a room closer to the lobby. What a different experience! Clinton , the night duty manager sorted out the room situation thankfully. The rooms itself need a lot of renovations - please pack your own toiletries. Our room had but we didn’t use them. Also be mindful the same key works for the safe in all the rooms. Cleaning fee of $10usd daily Generally this can be ok accommodations if you are laid back and don’t plan spending too much time in the room. Hopefully within the coming years this resort gets the facelift it needs because the location /beach cannot be beat!

Let's be honest that this place is great value for food, drinks, pool and beach. But it ends there. Our room leaked every time it rained and even on the first night. We did not complain. But when we PAID for the room be cleaned, we were accosted by the housekeeper in the hallway about keeping our room clean. Actually yelled at us. The staff is so rude aside from a couple individuals. We tipped every drink and meal but stopped that as the staff was still rude. My advice, go visit but do not be nice. If something is wrong, make a complaint and hold them accountable. We spent one night contemplating moving to another hotel. That is the last thing anyone should be doing on their vacation.

Just came back from verandah Antigua ,Staying for 8 days , it was vacation for my family me my husband and my son, First from check in the staff not friendly at all usually every resort in Caribbean I visit the serve you welcoming drink when we arrived they ask us oh do you want drinks? I think because from all air Canada flight just our family stay in this resort so it was just our family in check in. because after 2 days we saw group arrive and they serve them drinks ,room service it’s good clean , pools it’s very poor service with this kind of luxury resort the main pool they have 2 basketballs one it’s get flat no air from second day we arrived no body care about it we told the staff he Kisangani oh we can’t do any thing we have to contact the company and we have to do new order its long process imagine they have ordered just 2 for all gusts so if the second one get damaged there is no basketball game . Now the restaurant not a lot of options just 2 restaurants and pizza place the staff of both restaurants not friendly at all service very bad , buffet staff super friendly , In the end this resort it’s not worth the money we spend which is a lot so I am not going to recommend it to any body . For sure I visit antique again loved the island but staying in different resorts ,

We had a great stay here in 2022 during Covid. The rooms are clean and well appointed, with ocean views. The food was authentic and very good, if you have ever had the chance to taste Goat Water you will know how great the local cuisine is in Antigua... Fantastic flavours. We made a comment to one of our servers that the music being played at the resort was American, not Antiguan in any way and that we appreciate local culture and music when we visit other countries. The next morning the GM of the resort sat down with us and asked us about our thoughts in this regard. The next morning at breakfast they were playing Soca (a local favourite music) and reggae (tourist could relate to). Good for them for doing their best... And good for us for enjoying this great experience at this resort. Would highly recommend this resort to anyone. Robert Barrett was on site personally managing everything, good on him. We appreciated it all.

Definitely not a hospitality friendly environment. The staff was very unpleasant. The restaurants were hard to get reservations for and the food was often cold and tasteless. To get “fine dining “ you had to pay an additional fee. To make matters worse we went 2 entire days without beach towels because the resort ran out. We asked for waters to our room for 2 days before they were sent to us. Our TV needed maintenance and again that took over a day and several calls to get.

Disappointed and Confused by the Positive Reviews We recently stayed at this resort in one of the Superior King Oceanfront rooms, and I’ll start by saying the rooms themselves were lovely—spacious, clean, and with beautiful views. The grounds were immaculate—you could see the staff working diligently every day trimming trees, picking up fallen leaves, and maintaining the landscaping to a high standard. The property itself is stunning and well cared for. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end. The food was, without exaggeration, absolutely terrible. We didn’t have a single entree we could say was even “okay.” Even the sodas were hit-or-miss—some nights you’d be lucky to get one, and other nights you’d get some off-brand seltzer that tasted like flavored dishwater. Bar drinks were another disaster. Not only were they watered down, but it became a guessing game depending on who made the drink—you might order a margarita and end up with a rum punch (if you’re lucky). It’s clear most of the bartenders haven’t been trained at all. Customer service was consistently poor. Wait times for food and drinks were unreasonably long, and many of the staff clearly did not want to be bothered. That being said, there were a handful of employees who were kind and tried their best, but they were unfortunately the exception rather than the rule. Another major issue is the size of the property. While it’s beautiful, it’s so spread out that getting around requires waiting for a shuttle (golf cart). One night, we waited 45 minutes—which is unacceptable, especially for a resort that markets itself as luxury and convenient. What’s most confusing is how many glowing reviews this place has. Either they were written by staff or guests who have never been to another all-inclusive resort. We are very understanding travelers—we respect different cultures and adapt to local norms and cuisines—but this was just unacceptable by any standard. We’ve traveled to many resorts in different countries, and this is the first time we’ve ever felt compelled to leave a negative review. Beautiful resort, yes—but beauty can’t mask poor service, inedible food, and a lack of basic hospitality training. We wouldn’t return or recommend it.

The Verandah Antigua gave us our perfect honeymoon! Privacy: The suites have two rooms to a building, so you don't have the noise and crowding of a standard hotel. The rooms feel private and quiet, and come with your own private balcony section. We got the superior waterfront king room, and highly recommend it- you can't beat the view! Cleanliness: Every inch of the property was spotless. Even the bathrooms at the beaches and the pools were immaculate. Property: The landscaping is beautiful. You're surrounded by palm and banana trees, making you feel like you are in your own tropical paradise. It's also rather spread out, so if you like walking, you can stay active. If you have mobility challenges or are tired, they have golf carts and you can request a ride at any time. Crowds & Noise: Even though it is a large resort, it never felt crowded. There were always beach and pool chairs available. Even the large dining hall was never packed or noisy. The fact that it is adults only also helps with the relaxed, romantic feel. Activities: They have thought of plenty of activities so you will never be bored. Between the two beaches, water sports, multiple pools, fitness center, spa, restaurants, game areas, tennis and pickle ball quarts, mini golf, and a full schedule of daily activities, you will run out of time before you run out of things to do. And even if you do get stir crazy, there are many great options for excursions, with knowledgeable staff to help you pick out what you are looking for (shout out to Gem!) Staff: All the staff were wonderful. Everyone was kind and professional. Food: We can't finish a review without talking about the food. They have options for every diet/preference. The buffet is amazing! Everything was DELICIOUS, cooked to perfection, at the perfect temperature. For example, for breakfast you can get everything from your standard pancakes or gluten free muffins for breakfast, to more adventurous local options like steamed plantains and salt fish and ackee. Overall: We cannot recommend the Verandah enough. We will certainly be back!

I can’t say enough how awesome this place was, the staff was incredibly attentive, our butler Maxwell went above and beyond on every step. Facility looks brand new, decoration on point, every detail was made with class. Beach was a wow, tranquil and clear. Weather was AMAZING in the middle of summer, hot during the day but amazingly breeze at night. Shows at night were entertaining. Beautiful hotel, excellent location, gorgeous views. Amazing service. Food can improve but I’m sure everyone will have their opinion but in general GREAT GREAT PLACE!

Royalton CHIC Antigua - Diamond Club Experience I visited the Royalton CHIC in Antigua last week and, while the resort has undergone recent renovations, it still has a long way to go to meet the standards of a luxury experience-especially for the price. We stayed as Diamond Club members in a swim-up room. While the view from the room was beautiful, I was disappointed to find that people could walk directly past our room. At other resorts with swim-up rooms, this kind of foot traffic is usually restricted, offering more privacy. Service was one of the biggest letdowns. Upon arrival, we had to wait for our room to be cleaned, and housekeeping didn’t come until much later in the day. It was surprisingly difficult to get basic items like washcloths and towels. On multiple days, we were told there were no extra towels available-even beach towels ran out early, so if you weren’t out by a certain time, you were out of luck. The butler service was the worst I’ve experienced. It felt more like having a middleman than a helpful concierge. Room service took forever, and drinks at the Diamond Club bar were also slow to come-unless Ersla/Elsa was working. She was a bright spot and delivered excellent service. Food across the resort was very hit or miss. The food at Pescari was particularly disappointing. There are two separate menus: one for Diamond Club guests (included) and one that you must pay for, which had better options. If you're dining with guests who aren’t in the Diamond Club, make sure their room number is provided to avoid charges going to the wrong room. Vespa was good, Hunter was okay, and Haven Grill was average. The food truck options weren’t impressive. The bird problem at the resort is significant, likely due to people leaving food out. I even saw birds land on plates, which was very off-putting. The complimentary Diamond Club spa access (sauna, steam room, hot tub) was just okay. Nice to have, but not a game-changer. Everyone we encountered on staff was kind, but the resort is clearly understaffed. Everything took far too long, and nothing seemed organized or efficient. The island itself doesn’t offer much in terms of activities. We went to Shirley Heights, which was just okay. Overall, there was nothing during our stay that would bring me back to this resort—or even to another Royalton property. If you’re just looking for a place to relax and don’t care much about food, service, or amenities, this place might suit you. But for the cost and the Diamond Club status, it simply wasn’t worth it.

Antigua was absolutely breathtaking — I enjoyed every single moment of my solo birthday trip. Would I recommend visiting Antigua? Without a doubt. Would I recommend staying at Royalton Chic? Absolutely not. While the resort is aesthetically pleasing and relatively new (just about a year old), there are still several areas that need serious improvement. The specialty restaurants were nicely decorated, but the food was consistently mediocre and served lukewarm. The exceptions were the wings at the sports bar — a solid 10/10 and the drop-in deli “Insomnia,” which offered great sandwiches, coffee, and desserts. Unfortunately, everything else left much to be desired. Check-in was a mess. Although check-in officially begins at 3 PM, many guests myself included were left waiting for hours. By the time I was finally given my room, most of the day had slipped away. Upon entering, I discovered my shower was broken. While maintenance came to fix it the next day, it broke again shortly after which was surprising given how long the room had been "prepared" prior to check-in. If you're assigned to Building #1, request a room change immediately. The building is located near dense trees, which brings an overwhelming number of mosquitoes. You could tell the issue was ongoing the room had visible blood stains on the ceiling, walls, and drapes from previous guests killing bugs. To make things worse, housekeeping leave the doors open while cleaning, inviting even more mosquitoes inside. Entertainment was lackluster and didn’t live up to expectations. the foam party was boring and for it to be considered a Caribbean island surprisingly there was no Caribbean music which sucked. Would I return to Antigua? 100% yes. Would I stay at Royalton Chic again? Never (not worth the $$)

Disappointed with the Diamond Preferred Club Experience – Not Worth the Extra Cost I rarely leave negative reviews, but our recent stay was frustrating enough that I feel compelled to share. We paid extra for the Diamond Preferred Club expecting an elevated experience, but it simply wasn't delivered. From the start, none of the promised perks were consistently available. Our butler service was practically nonexistent, especially when our main butler was off—no support or follow-up in their absence. Our room lacked basic amenities like towels, snacks, and minibar restocking, even after repeated requests. The food was disappointing and definitely not up to "premium" standards. Despite daily complaints to the staff, we kept hearing, "We’re working on it," with no resolution. I specifically asked for a complimentary couples massage to help make up for the inconvenience, only to be told—two days later—that the only available time was 5 PM on the day we were checking out. In the end, all we received was a plate of white chocolate-covered strawberries the morning we left—when we had no time to enjoy them. It felt like an afterthought rather than genuine hospitality. For the price we paid, we expected far better service and communication. Unfortunately, this experience fell far short of the standard that was promised.

Royalton Chic Antigua- A Nightmare masquerading as a Resort. If you’re considering a stay at the Royalton Chic Antigua, do yourself a favor and believe the 1- and 2-star reviews. I wish we had. Our experience was a complete disaster from start to finish, and no amount of ocean views can make up for the unprofessionalism, neglect, and borderline disturbing behavior we encountered. My husband had to go back and forth with the front desk multiple times over several issues—none of which were handled with urgency, initiative, or even basic courtesy. The staff seemed uninterested in resolving problems unless we explicitly asked for a supervisor (which is when we discovered another issue: management is almost never on-site). Reaching a general manager is like chasing a ghost, and even when you do get someone to listen, they don’t follow up on anything. One manager told us she would escalate our concerns to the GMs via email. That never happened. The list of service failures is long: Our room fridge was never restocked despite multiple requests. We asked for basic bath soap and never received it. We had to beg for housekeeping every single day—and only finally got service on our last day. As for hospitality? That word doesn’t exist at this resort. While there are a handful of kind staff members, the majority—especially at the bars and coffee shop—were rude, dismissive, and downright nasty. Their attitude made it feel like we were inconveniencing them by simply existing. Definitely not the level of service you expect from a resort that brands itself as “luxury.” Worse still, I had a deeply uncomfortable and alarming experience at the pool bar women’s restroom. With the electricity out, the windows and doors had to remain open for ventilation. I noticed male staff lingering nearby, attempting to peek inside, forcing me to call my husband to stand guard outside the door while I used the restroom. We reported this behavior to management, who once again “made a note” and promised follow-up. None ever came. That incident alone is enough reason to steer clear of this property. To those thinking about upgrading to the Diamond Club: don’t bother. We met multiple guests who paid extra for that “exclusive experience” and were completely let down—missing perks, same rude service, and absolutely no added value. Antigua is a breathtaking island with so much to offer—but this resort drags the entire experience down. If you want to be ignored, disrespected, and disgusted, by all means book a stay here. But if you value your time, your money, and your dignity, look elsewhere. The hospitality bar isn’t low here—it’s in the pits of hell.

One of the most memorable vacations I’ve ever had! Blue Waters Resort and Spa exceeded all expectations. The food was absolutely amazing—fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented at every meal. A tranquil quiet resort spread over the northwest beach area of Antigua. The resort has a number of pools, and ample dining spaces. Breakfast is amazing, with a superb view of the sea. Rooms and suites are spacious, with amenities and almost all of them have picture perfect views. Staff are smiling and relaxed and make you feel like slowing time down. Keep up the good work.

Beautiful resort in stunning gardens with wonderful views. Slightly isolated for me personally. Rooms were lovely and we had a stunning view from our huge balcony. Good was a bit samey over a liner stay and more variation would have been nice. Good and drinks are on the expensive side in the hotel.

I have to believe the people raving about this “resort” aren’t Americans. The Brits on holiday seemed quite happy, but there is no way this is a 4 star hotel. Pros: the people who work there are friendly, it’s pretty at first glance (shabby up close, though!), the sand on the beach there is powder soft and the room was decent. That’s it. The beach is tiny and never any free lounges, the pools are small and cold, service is slow if you get any to begin with, and the activities desk was no help in steering us in the right direction. My local taxi driver was the best source of information. The bath towels were thin and rough, though the pool towels were a bit better. The food is fair, at best, and limited menus make it hard to stay on property. They charged $7 US for a glass of Coke! Whatever you do, don’t waste your money on the all inclusive plan, that’s for sure! There was no value for the money we paid and I’m extremely disappointed at what we got in exchange for the hefty bill. I expected some luxury, attentive service, and the feel of a good resort. This felt more like a shabby hotel that had seen better days.

We stayed for 6 days in this hotel in Antigua. We stayed at suite 12 - the suites are huge ! We will definitely come back; the rooms are huge , new , modern and clean. the staff are amazing , every each person is so kind to you and make you feel like home. The location is the best , with amazing private beach. Kids and family friendly- including nanny services, kids club with great activities for kids. Very good food and restaurants- especially the Asian restaurant. The staff is there for you also when we needed a doctor consultation for one of the kids , they take care same day and sending a taxi to pharmacy for the prescriptions, checking on it every day. Excellent service.

We spent a week at Carlisle Bay Resort and was blown away by the beauty, service, and attention to detail. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like royalty—greeting us with chilled towels, tropical drinks, and warm smiles. The location is absolutely stunning. Nestled between lush green hills and a calm, turquoise bay, the resort feels private and peaceful. We stayed in a Bay Suite, which was perfect for a romantic escape—spacious, beautifully designed. Waking up to ocean views and sipping coffee on our terrace was a highlight of every day. Dining was exceptional across the board. Indigo on the Beach served fresh, flavorful dishes in a relaxed beachfront setting, while East was a more refined experience with standout Asian fusion flavors. We also loved Ottimo! for casual poolside lunches—especially the wood-fired pizzas. Service throughout the resort was impeccable. Everyone, from housekeeping to the concierge, went out of their way to ensure our stay was flawless. We also appreciated the thoughtful division between family and adult-only areas, which helped maintain a peaceful atmosphere. If I had to find a minor critique, it would be that some areas of the resort—like parts of the pool deck—could benefit from a little refresh. But that’s honestly nitpicking. The overall experience was world-class. I have been here 5 times … Would I return? Absolutely. Carlisle Bay is the perfect blend of relaxed luxury, natural beauty, and five-star service. Highly recommend for couples, families, or anyone looking to unwind in paradise.

Stayed here and at Bluewaters, and honestly, there’s not much in it—they both have their strengths. If the beach is what matters most, this one wins hands down. The location is incredible, right on a stunning stretch of sand that really makes the stay. That said, if you’re after charm and atmosphere, Bluewaters just edges it. This hotel has loads of potential, but it could do with some refurbishment. But the best bit? Afternoon tea served to you on the beach. It honestly doesn’t get much better. A real standout experience that sets this place apart.

From the moment we arrived, we knew that we were among a team who love what they do.Greeted at the airport & driven to the resort,everything was organised in advance.The process of going through customs & baggage claim, chaperoned by a Carlisle Bay representative was seamless. We were greeted on our evening arrival by Kevonne, a lovely young man who got us set up in our room & made sure that nothing distracted us from our first dinner reservation. We settled quickly in our beautiful beach access suite & were escorted to Indigo to meet Kareem, a wonderful host & Michael, the sommelier, who was always smiling, gracious & fully engaged with our needs. The menus across the restaurants; Indigo, East & Ottimo, give you a broad selection with something for everyone. From your favourite salads, pasta dishes, pizzas, sushi, steaks & burgers, our only concern was not to consume too much. We enjoyed an all-inclusive stay & would highly recommend it. At Indigo, we fell in love with the staff. After a mere 48hrs, they were on first name terms w/ our entire family & Georgier, Leanne, Shantez, Jerica & Audicia, really did represent a highlight of our dining experience. Nothing was too much & the service could be described as nothing short of exceptional. Somewhat awkward subject is how much service represents too much or too little?! On an all-inclusive experience, you want to be afforded enough attention so as not to feel neglected, but you also don't want to be bothered unnecessarily. At CB, we always felt that the staff were attentive at all the right times. They were discrete & always sensitive to our 'private' conversations or family moments. We should note that our beach service from Len, encapsulated this perfectly. He was always there when we needed something, never hovering, never missing for long periods. As a team, the staff understood our needs perfectly, and as much credit as the individuals deserve in this regard, the management are also worthy of immense praise & credit. East is the Asian dining experience & the choice & quality is again exceptional. Michelle was a wonderful host, Jerica & Samaya became friends who made us excited about going back. Michael, the sommelier, seemed to be everywhere, bringing a smile to our experience and even encouraging our little boy, to eat his broccoli. Which he did. The staff have left an indelible impression on my family & I that will last as long as memories of the beautiful geography of the Bay itself. On that note, the waters are calm & clear. In march, the weather was perfect & the occasional rain worked wonders to cleanse the air & give you a break from the otherwise perfect heat & slight humidity. The tennis facilities & tennis coaching are excellent, no matter your skill level. There are paid lessons & complimentary group clinics. The kid's club (for 3+), is an incredible resource. Leaving your kids can be tricky, but the staff at kid's club were just as special to our children as the other staff elsewhere had become to our entire family. The Jetty Grill is also an incredible dining experience & though it is adult only, there's a weekly bbq w/ a live calypso band where children are welcome.The water sports team are outstanding.There are paid experiences, but canoes, pedalos, snorkels & masks are readily available for free on a first come first served basis. There are so many members of the team that I have failed to mention, but one we cannot forget is Vida from housekeeping.She was able to restore our suite to the check-in condition. Not just a daily turn down service, but incredible pride & attention to detail. Every evening, she made the idea of returning back to the suite a complete pleasure. We have had a beautiful experience at CB & as noted,aside from the magical culture & geography of Antigua, CB have done an exceptional job of bottling all of these elements for a once-in-a-lifetime experience. One we hope, as our family grows, we will be able to experience as many times as we possibly can.

I am very disappointed with my stay. The cost of the hotel is far too high compared to what is actually offered. You pay more than 1000€ per night and , if you consider this a leading hotel of the world, oh well, we’ve stayed in hotels less expensive and want better. The water pressure in the room is very weak, and the temperature constantly fluctuated—either burning hot or freezing cold. The hotel itself, including the room and furniture, is in serious need of renovation and improvement. To make things worse, we waited over 1 hour and 30 minutes , almost 2 to be precise, to be served at the Italian restaurant, which was completely unacceptable. When we asked why it was taking so long, they informed us they have received lots of requests, but everyone that came after us, was served first. The experience did not match the price at all.

Beautiful Caribbean style cottages with a breathtaking sea view and constant gentle breeze. The host is kind and helpful. Bath toiletries and kitchen items are provided. If you're cooking, you only need to purchase food ingredients, as a variety of seasonings, olive oil, vinegar, tea, coffee, even paper towels are on hand. The host's attention to detail is phenomenal. Be prepared to walk up a steep driveway and several steps, but that's just the added benefit of exercise. A recommended stay!

Back again once again at the Cottages, I believe for our 5th visit to the beautiful island of Antigua. Always a consistent experience; a well-kept and -appointed, somewhat secluded spot. The beauty of the location is it's only minutes from the port area of St. John's, so you're not far from things you need. Car optional if you don't mind a bit of walking and/or using public transit. Galley Bay Beach was red-flagged every day this time, and there are no lounge chairs to use, so hint: bring a hammock! Marco takes great care of us time and time again.

We come to these cottages year after year. The beach is a 5 minute hike but I'd rather sit in my private tropical paradise anyway. Well appointed kitchen so we cook our own breakfasts and some dinners. We have stayed in them all. Spice this year. Propane bbq for grilling. Decent grocery store 10 minutes away so you don't have to drive in the hell of St. John's!

Wow what an experience! My husband and I came here for our honeymoon in July and we were hoping for a romantic, quiet, luxurious all inclusive experience - Hammock Cove provided all of this and so much more. Our expectations were exceeded. The food was nothing like what you would get at an all inclusive. Every meal we had was gourmet and some of our favorite food we have ever had at any restaurant or all inclusive. Chef Marco and the team put so much care into the work they're doing and would take time every day to come out and talk to you about the meals. The drink experience with Joel, Shawna, Gabriel, Erik, and all of the bartenders, was phenomenal. Joel makes the best espresso martinis you'll ever have, and also taught us how to make his favorite rum old fashion drink so we can make it in the US. Every drink you get will be delicious and tailored yo you if you'd like. Rooms are spacious and clean and the maids came every day. It was so nice to come into the room with fresh towels and a bed made every day. Also, it was by far the quietest most romantic place I've ever been. Going down to the beach in the morning there is no fighting for a chair and it is just quiet and lovely, We are already planning when we will come back.

Way beyond any reasonable expectation. The most unexpected surprise was the exceptional cuisine provided during our one week stay. Chef Marco prepared exceptional dishes every time. He is a consummate chef, in a class with the best in the world! We were gushing with praise after every dinner. What a pro! Iliara was the sommelier and she was very knowledgeable and graceful. Her recommendations of wines and her demeanor added to the already excellent culinary experience. The Villa was spacious, clean and had all the amenities expected at a high-end resort. The bathroom was very spacious, and well appointed. The outdoor Veranda had a plunge pool, (nice touch), table and chairs, and a well-stocked mini bar. The location had beautiful views from the room. Service was always excellent. It was kind, genuine, and unobtrusive. We always felt we were being taken care of. The grounds were constantly maintained, clean, and beautiful. The beach was never crowded, with clean clear waters and soft white sand. The floating circles were appreciated by us. We were able to relax on them, get some sun and stay cool in the water all at the same time. The staff would bring drinks out to you in the water, all you had to do was raise your hand. We were at Hammock Cove for 5 nights and it was a wonderful experience! We traveled with another couple and requested villas next to each other which they were able to do. If you can get a villa on the ocean-facing side the view is incredible! All of the staff were friendly and happy to help or just say hello. Our "ambassador" even carried patio chairs over to our villa so the 4 of us could sit together. Service, however, was slow. Be prepared to wait 20-60min for drink or food orders on the beach or to the room. The ambassador system in general is clunky—there were several miscommunications and it was unclear what could/should be done via ambassador and should be done at the front desk. Food: Room service dinner was pretty underwhelming (calamari should never be in stick form) but Lighthouse dinners were excellent and they even made special menu items for our vegan friend. The beach BBQ was also really enjoyable, grilled lobster on a Caribbean beach is hard to beat. Activities/Excursions: The Pink Panther tour was a wonderful way to see the island with a knowledgable guide. The Calypso Cat boat was an unforgettable experience. We swam alongside sea turtles and and the crew were so fun to be with. We got to see a couple other resorts and we appreciated how small Hammock Cove was in comparison, much quieter and more walkable. Also being walking distance from Devil's Bridge was a bonus. The villa itself was incredible—bed was comfortable, blackout shades were good to have as we faced East, the mini bar was well-stocked and kept us very happy. We'd love to come back!
