Food & Drink

The national dish of Mexico is Mole. It is a sauce that is served on other dishes such as Tacos or Enchiladas. Mole can be made from a number of ingredients such as nuts, fruits, chilli, and even chocolate.

If you’re looking for a delicious Mexican breakfast, then you will want to try Chilaquiles. Triangular fried tortillas soaked in hot sauce and topped with shredded meats, chorizo, and an egg.

 Machaca is a type of dry shredded beef that has been seasoned with local herbs and spices. It is used as a primary ingredient in some of the most popular Mexican dishes such as Burritos and Tacos.

No trip to Mexico would be complete without sampling the country's signature drink. Tequila. Produced locally in the state of Jalisco, Tequila can be found behind nearly every bar in Mexico.

Coffee lovers will enjoy sampling the Mexican grown beans that offer a light body with a nutty flavour that makes every sip as good as the last.

Best Time

Mexico is blessed with warm temperatures year-round. Perfect beach weather. The Tropic of Cancer neatly splits the country into two separate climates. The north has a temperate climate while the south is tropical. This means the south will often feel hotter than it is due to humidity.
The dry season is between November and April, with the coolest months being between December and February. During these periods the temperatures can reach average highs of 32/30 °C and average lows of 23/22 °C. This is a great time to visit if you want warm weather without it being too hot.
The famous ‘Day of the Dead’ is held on November 1st.
The migration of the butterflies happens during this period.
Whale watching is also best between January and March.
The wet season is between May and October. During this period temps reach average highs of 34/33 °C and average lows of 24/23 °C.
Mexican Independence Day is on the 15th and 16th of September. The county comes alive with parades and fireworks during this time.      

Things To See and Do
