At Destination2, we love to daydream about the perfect holiday to Dubai, and Atlantis The Palm makes excellent fantasy-fodder. Larger than life, luxurious and brimming with eye-watering attractions, it defines the contemporary mega-resort. Here’s what we think our perfect day at Atlantis would look like staying in one of the exceptional Club Suites.
We wake early and stretch across the silky-soft sheets of a plush king-sized bed with gold trimmings. The bright blue sea glistens in the warm sun as we sip freshly brewed coffee from a comfy sun lounger on the extensive balcony. There’s no time to waste though - the complimentary breakfast starts at seven o’clock and our tummies are rumbling at the thought of twenty theatrical cooking stations sizzling with hot delicacies from around the world. There’s the impossible choice of Kaleidoscope or Saffron Restaurant, so we flip a coin and promise to visit the other one tomorrow!
As Atlantis Imperial Club guests, we’ve got free access to the amazing Aquaventure Waterpark and we’re planning to go every day of our Dubai holiday! It’s the only way to get through each of the thrilling slides available, while not missing out on experiencing the Middle East’s longest zip-line. Today we’re determined to brave the insane adrenaline-fuelled ride, ‘The Leap of Faith’ – 27.5m straight down through a shark-filled lagoon. Eeek!
With hearts still fluttering from the rush of the rides, it’s time to chill-out for a bit. The fine white sands of the private Imperial Club Beach tingle on our toes as we find a good spot on a VIP cabana. We’ve got everything we need in our complimentary beach bag, so it’s time to slap on the factor 30 and soak in some rays.
Half past two rolls around quickly and we’re feeling peckish. Time to head to Atlantis’ Imperial Club Lounge for a sugar rush in the form of a scrumptious afternoon tea. Creamy cakes topped with fresh fruits melt in our mouths, and are washed down nicely with a steaming cup of tea. Delish!
As if we haven’t indulged enough today, ShuQi Spa is our next stop. The Imperial Club benefits gives us a great two-for-one deal on a head, neck and shoulder massage which will do nicely to fully relax and unwind. Passing through the opulent reception, we know we’re in for a treat. Starting with a dip in the jet pool and a sweat in the steam room, we’re then invited into one of the lavishly furnished couples room for our treatment. This luxury Dubai experience is going pretty well so far!
In a state of pure serenity, with relaxed body and mind - frankly we’ve forgotten all about the stresses of everyday life back home as we meander back to the Imperial Club Lounge. Between five and seven o’clock there’s complimentary drinks and canapes, and we’re ready for a champagne cocktail! Sinking into a comfy chair, we log on to one of the Club’s iPads for a quick catch up with family online, before getting ready for our night out.
We’ve been thinking about food all day, trying to decide what to pick out of the 23 restaurants at Atlantis The Palm Dubai. Shall we go for world-class Japanese and South American fusion at Nobu or laid-back authenticity at Arabian influenced Levantine? The choices are mind-blowing! We’ve got priority restaurant reservations with our Imperial Club privileges, so it’s easy to get in wherever we decide. We opt for the latter and feast on a mezze followed by juicy charcoal grilled meats. The DJs get us in the mood for N’Dulge Nightclub, where we’ve got free entry for dancing under the stars to a spectacular Dubai skyline.
At the end of the night we slink back to our lavish suite and quickly fall into deep dreams of tomorrow’s adventures. There’s shopping to do at The Avenues, before a visit to The Lost Chambers Aquarium and of course another trip to Aquaventure Waterpark... The fun never stops at Atlantis The Palm!
