A range of other fun-filled activities includes catamaran cruises, banana boat rides, snorkelling, fishing excursions and scuba diving on the coral reefs teeming with marine life.

Jebel Jais Flight

Outdoor Adventures

Jebel Jais, which towers at 1,934 metres high and is the highest mountain peak in the UAE, is a sustainable tourist site featuring a host of amazing attractions, including Jebel Jais Flight, the world’s longest zipline, where you can soar at speeds of up to 160 km per hour. It is also home to Jais Sledder where you’ll hurtle down the mountainside on a white-knuckle ride and Jais Sky Tour, a course of six ziplines above the grand cliffs and canyons connected by nine platforms and a 15-metre-long sky bridge. Bear Grylls Explorer Camp offers the chance to test your survival skills in the outdoors, with rock climbing, abseiling, hiking and ziplining among the challenging pursuits. For more adventure you can head to the desert for camel rides, hot air balloon trips, buggy safaris and nights under canvas in a traditional Bedouin camp. Other outdoor activities include canyoning, kayaking, mountain biking, karting, horse-riding and quad biking.

Ras Al Khaimah

Ras Al Khaimah is blessed with a range of breathtaking outdoor settings where you can be at one with nature, including mountain ranges, desert wildernesses and underwater wonderlands. The emirate offers the chance to take your stress levels way down low, as you bask in the golden sunshine and breathe in the fresh air. The terracotta deserts of Ras Al Khaimah ooze beauty and mystery, with their rolling dunes, date palm oases and acacia trees that pepper the landscapes. You can also connect with nature on the waters of the Arabian Gulf during a trip on a traditional dhow boat or by donning a snorkel and flippers to discover the colourful marine life.

Ras Al Khaimah Onyx

Wonderful wildlife

Ras Al Khaimah goes the extra mile to care for its wondrous wildlife, with endangered Hawksbill turtles, Arabian Oryx and sand gazelles among the creatures with a cloak of protection thrown over them. The emirate is home to a diverse range of wildlife, with vast nature reserves, verdant coastal plains and dense mangroves offering the chance to see a multitude of animals and birds in their natural habitat. Gaze in awe at the pink flamingos at Al Rams Lagoon or head out into the desert on a nature spotting drive at Al Wadi Nature Reserve for close encounters with camels, Arabian Oryx and sand gazelles. The emirate is also a paradise for snorkellers, with grouper, parrot fish, black-tip shark and clownfish among the inhabitants of the beautiful coral reefs.

Best Time To Visit

Ras Al Khaimah's hot summers and mild winters make it the perfect choice for a wonderful holiday experience, any time of year. November to February is a great time to visit this exceptional destination, with temperatures ranging from 12°C to 25°C, which means conditions are perfect for getting out and about to discover the emirate's sensational natural attractions and cultural landmarks. The mercury soars in the summer months, sometimes as high as a stifling 45°C, so this is a better time of year for a laid-back beachfront holiday, lazing on the sands and taking to the gulf for some thrilling water sports action. Ras Al Khaimah's shopping malls, restaurants and key indoor attractions have excellent air conditioning systems so you'll feel completely comfortable, even in the height of summer. This magnificent Arabian Gulf getaway experiences very little rainfall, with occasional heavy showers and thunderstorms in the winter months.
