What is Virgin Atlantic’s check-in baggage allowance?

A Virgin Atlantic Economy Classic or Economy Delight ticket allows for one 23kg checked bag. If you are flying Premium Class, you can check in up to two 23kg bags. For Upper Class passengers, you can take up to two 32kg checked bags. Please note that baggage allowance differs for flights to and from Delhi, Mumbai, Lagos, and Johannesburg.

What is Virgin Atantic’s cabin baggage allowance?

Economy Class (Classic and Delight) and Premium passengers can take one bag up to 10kg with them on the flight, whilst Upper Class passengers are entitled to two carry-on bags up to 16kg.

Definitely! On Virgin Atlantic flights, children of all ages will be catered for. The little ones will be captivated by the wide array of children’s films, TV shows, and games, all with a BBFC rating of U or PG. Older children can watch their favourite shows and listen to chart-topping music in the main entertainment section, with parents being able to decide what they can and can’t select with a parent lock feature. Virgin Atlantic also provides a RowType kids goodie pack, including a holiday journal, sunglasses, an activity book, and more. When it comes to mealtime, the airline now offers a tasty meal option for the younger ones, including chicken goujons, sweetcorn, and potato wedges, as well as an organic smoothie, cheese dippers, a fruit bowl, and a giant cookie. If you are flying in Upper Class, children can enjoy another entrée of mac and cheese.

What are the rules for flying on Virgin Atlantic with a baby?

Babies up to the age of 2 years (24 months) old do not have to have their own seat, you are allowed to travel with them on your lap for just 10% of an adult fare (plus any taxes, fees or charges). Adults over 12 years old are allowed to carry one infant each. Bassinets and cots are also available upon request in advance (subject to availability). If you would like to book an extra seat for your infant, you can bring a fully collapsible pushchair and car seat or booster seat (in addition to your free checked baggage allowance). The helpful inflight staff will be on hand for anything you need while flying with children to ensure your journey is as seamless as possible. If your child is between the ages of 2 and 11 years old at the time of travelling, they will require a child seat at the time of booking, which provides the option for you to pre-select a tasty kids meal.
