Adventure

The White Lotus may have reeled you in with glimpses of Thailand’s luxury and natural beauty, but we’re here to show you just how exciting this destination truly is. There’s plenty of adventure activities to sink your teeth into, with varying degrees of exhilaration to suit all ages. Holidays in Chiang Mai are ideal if you’re seeking to explore tropical jungles and enjoy an array of outdoor pursuits, including hiking, mountain biking and horse riding. Soar through the sky on the Eagle Track Zipline, passing the towering treetops, or splash through the rivers while water rafting and kayaking. More aquatic fun can be had in Koh Samui’s Japanese Garden Reef, where you can dive and admire the underwater views in a spot that’s perfect for beginners. Something a little calmer, but nonetheless as thrilling, is a visit to an ethical elephant sanctuary. It’s wise to do your research to ensure the animals you get to see are well looked after, but you should be able to find such options in Chiang Mai, Krabi and even when visiting Koh Yao.

Thailand

Wonder

Fans of The White Lotus will know Thailand is brimming with exceptional spots of natural beauty and sites of wonder. However, the scenery on screen is just the tip of the iceberg. Khao Lak-Lam Ru National Park is a must visit if you get the chance. The lush rainforest here conceals cascading waterfalls and towering mountains, as well as being home to elephants, monkeys and exotic birds. Getaways in Krabi provide the chance to see its legendary limestone cliffs that display dramatic rock formations, or you could head to Phuket to enjoy jaw-dropping views from the peak of Rang Hill. It wouldn’t be a holiday to Thailand without admiring the many ornamental palaces and temples this country is famous for. Explore The Grand Palace during a city break in Bangkok. This 18th-century structure that’s a staple of the city’s skyline, with its 53-acre garden hiding the Wat Phra Kaew Temple, home of the sacred jade Buddha statue.

Thailand

Flavour

Embark on a culinary journey unlike any other as you investigate the tantalising and aromatic flavours of Thai cuisine. Popular dishes include pad thai, tom yum, khao soi, curry, Thai fish cakes and spring rolls, and you can enjoy all of this and more in a myriad of dining venues. Sample the authentic fare served at Thailand’s famous food markets. Many regions boast their own immensely popular night markets, which become hubs of culture once the sun sets. Hua Hin Night Market serves up steamed crab and lobster amongst other speciality seafood due to its coastal location and fishing trade. Chillva Night Market, for those enjoying holidays in Phuket, is the place to be if you want to wow your palate with an array of traditional delicacies and modern innovations from its pop-up stalls. There are also a multitude of exceptional restaurants to discover wherever you visit, including Michelin-starred dining destinations in both Bangkok and Phuket.

Thailand

Energy

Feel the energy pulsating through Thailand on your out-of-this-world holiday. An iconic party destination, you’ll find a plethora of nightclubs, bars, cabarets and live performances, especially on an epic escape in Pattaya, home of the legendary Walking Street that oozes an energy similar to Las Vegas. There’s also Khao San Road, the main entertainment zone in glitzy Bangkok, and Bangla Road in Phuket, as well as many lively beach locations that are surrounded by booming venues, like Phuket's Patong Beach and Chaweng Beach in Koh Samui. For the most anticipated party in the whole of Thailand, you should plan your stay accordingly so you can experience a Full Moon Party. While many Thailand destinations offer this phenomenon, there’s nowhere better than its birthplace, Koh Pha-Ngan, to enjoy the music and fire shows, as seen in The White Lotus. Alternatively, you could opt for a night out to watch a Muay Thai fight in Krabi’s Ao Nang Thai Boxing Stadium.

Thailand

Tranquillity

Relax in the tranquility of your own luxury hotel, as the characters of The White Lotus do, soaking up the exceptional sunshine and taking advantage of all the on-site facilities. Spend an afternoon having the pamper session of a lifetime, enjoying massages, facials, body scrubs, steam rooms and saunas in an adult-only area of serenity. Take part in yoga and mindfulness classes or stroll through the awe-inspiring landscapes. If you’re seeking a golf holiday in Thailand, there’s no better place than Krabi as it’s home to the only 18-hole course in the country. While away the hours on a blissful beach, and there is plenty to choose from in Thailand. Perhaps the most picturesque spot is the famous Maya Bay, found in Phi Phi. For the ultimate escape to paradise, we’d recommend staying in Hua Hin and Cha Am as these secluded areas were a favourite holiday hotspot for the Thai royal family.
