Morocco Beach

Breathtaking Beaches

The much-loved resort of Agadir on the Atlantic coast stands out as a family favourite with shallow-water beaches and a host of water sports and activities, such as jet skiing, pedalos and snorkelling. The coastal winds are ideal for surfing, windsurfing, and kitesurfing, especially in Taghazout Beach. In Essaouira, you’ll find family-friendly beaches with children’s surfing lessons and popcorn stands, as well as secluded coves which are a more peaceful option for couples. Further south, the awe-inspiring tourist attraction of The Arches of Legzira can be discovered, a remarkable red rock archway that graces one of Africa’s most picture-perfect beaches. For swimming in calmer waters and sunbathing under scorching sunshine, the Mediterranean coastline boasts idyllic beaches, namely Quemado Beach and Tala Youssef Beach in Al Hoceima. At Morocco’s northern tip, Tangier is home to Oued Aliane, a Blue Flag beach blessed with a long stretch of golden sand.

Morocco Culture

Captivating Culture

Admire the vibrant hues of traditional art that adorns everything from ceramics to textiles, and marvel at the architectural gems of the ‘Red City’ (Marrakech), such as Bahia Palace. The echoes of centuries-old Amazigh, Arab and Andalusian legacies remain, along with a variety of other global influences that add to this nation’s diversity. The capital city, Rabat, showcases the historical landmarks of Hassan Tower and Kasbah of the Udayas, while Casablanca is where you can visit Hassan II Mosque, the second largest functioning mosque in Africa. Barter for market deals at bustling souks that offer authentic clothing, handmade jewellery, and unique souvenirs. Wander around cobblestone streets, ochre buildings and the maze-like medinas that have inspired successful writers and filmmakers. Morocco’s greatest traditions, carried forward through generations, come alive in the pulsating heart of Jemaa el-Fna square, where storytellers and musicians are plentiful.

Morocco Nature

Awe-Inspiring Nature

Step foot into a world of mesmerising natural wonders found in a range of mountainous, coastal and desert landscapes. Welcoming all wanderlust explorers, Morocco is home to a wondrous array of natural beauty. Venture southeast into the Sahara Desert, where the untouched beauty of terracotta sand dunes, caravans of camels and peaceful silence will amaze you. This is an idyllic spot to watch a memorable sunset. The High Atlas Mountains span nearly 1,000km across the nation, with peaks exceeding 13,600ft, inviting tourists to explore remote villages and capture high-quality pictures of snow-capped peaks and luminous lakes. Mountain Toubkal reigns as the highest peak in North Africa and can be climbed all year round. Morocco’s stunning coastlines also provide an integral part in completing the country’s magical mosaic of landscapes.

Morocco Camels

Exhilarating Activities

Thrill-seekers can roam free on the diverse playground of Morocco and immerse themselves in amazing adventures amongst spellbinding scenery. Camel treks, quad biking, sandboarding and once-in-a-lifetime hot air balloon rides await in the desert, as well as traditional Bedouin camps, where you will spend a night under the stars and be whisked back in time. In Marrakech, feel the adrenaline pumping through your veins with a fun-filled day at Palooza Land, Morocco’s first theme park. Attend a traditional leather workshop in Fez, or head to Agadir for pristine golf courses and Agadir Dolphin World. The rugged mountains are a treasure trove of gripping experiences, such as hiking, 4x4 expeditions, orienteering around cascading waterfalls and gorges, rock climbing and mountain biking. If all of this wasn’t enough, skiing enthusiasts will also be impressed with the highest ski resort in Africa, Oukaimeden.

Morocco Cuisine

Irresistible Cuisine

As if you need any more reason to visit this beguiling destination, the delicious food is notably one of the biggest pull factors. Filled with aromatic infusions and exotic flavours, Moroccan gastronomy never disappoints. Morocco’s national dish, couscous, is the culinary jewel of local dishes, often being paired with fragrant spices, succulent meats and tender vegetables. Some of the top delicacies to try include pastilla, a savoury-sweet chicken and almond pie, as well as rfissa, sellou, taktouka, and lamb tagine. Refresh your palate throughout the day with mint tea, aromatic coffee, or a bottle of ‘Casablanca’, a local premium beer. A perfect night in Marrakech might involve sampling a spectrum of mouth-watering street food before making your way to the Guilez district for post-dinner tipples and dazzling entertainment at rooftop bars.

BestTimeToVisit

Best Time To Visit

Boasting more than 3,000 hours of sunshine each year, Morocco offers a subtropical climate that makes beach holidays and city breaks extremely desirable. Springtime (March to May) and autumn (September to October) are great times to visit Morocco. At these times, the weather is warm and pleasant, averaging around 25°C in spring and 21°C in autumn. In the winter, daytime temperatures hover around a mild 12°C, but evenings tend to get rather cold. The breezy Atlantic coastline provides relief from the summer heat, with July and August seeing scorching highs of 39°C. Amounts of rainfall are dependent on region and time of year. For example, the wettest month of the year is November and more rainfall can be expected in mountainous areas. It is worth noting that April and May tend to be the windiest months, so sandstorms may occur in regions close to Morocco’s deserts.
