Dubai holidays are a dream for foodies, thanks to an astonishing culinary scene boasting plenty of world-class restaurants to choose from. When it comes to good food, Dubai's bars and hotels more than deliver.

With so many to choose from, it can be a little overwhelming, so we've put together a guide to some of the most renowned and iconic Dubai restaurants.

But with so many great dining spots on offer, it can be hard to know where to start.

We asked our travel specialists to deliver their best foodie advice to holidaymakers looking to make every meal memorable on their Dubai holiday, so you'll find a range of options below to choose from for a truly unforgettable dining experience.

So sit back and read about the top restaurants in Dubai to start building your itinerary - hope you're hungry!

1. At.mosphere, Burj Khalifa

Dubai holidays are not complete without a trip to the world’s tallest building. But why stop at a photo?

Situated on the 122nd floor of the Burj Khalifa is At.mosphere, an ultra-modern eatery that exudes elegance from its highly coveted address in downtown Dubai.

So, what can you expect from one of the most famous restaurants in Dubai?

At.mosphere’s menu combines classic French and Italian cooking in a gastronomic fusion that’s certain to tempt even the most discerning of diners.

If you’ve already made dinner plans, try one of the best afternoon teas in Dubai instead. Here you'll find one of the best lounges in Dubai, offering a delicious selection of sandwiches, cakes and speciality teas.

But divine dishes and tasty treats aren’t the only reasons to head to At.mosphere, there’s also the matter of the restaurant’s unrivalled panoramic views of Dubai – you can see absolutely everything!

Expert travel advice: The restaurant’s unrivalled panoramic views of Dubai are incredible – you can see absolutely everything! Contact the restaurant before your Dubai holiday to reserve a table with a view.

2. Nobu, Atlantis The Palm

No Dubai restaurant guide would be complete without mentioning Nobu. It may not rival At.mosphere in height, but that doesn’t matter, as the contemporary fusion eatery is certainly a strong contender for the city's best restaurant, and definitely the best Japanese restaurant in Dubai.

Located in the Atlantis, The Palm resort, one of the most iconic and luxurious hotels in the United Arab Emirates, Nobu is famous for its Arabian twist on Japanese cuisine.

A sake bar and sushi lounge complete the restaurant’s glamorous set up, giving visitors the authentic Japanese fine dining experience.

The restaurant – the Dubai outpost of the global group from acclaimed chef Nobu Matsuhisa - has received high praise from the world’s best food critics, who have described it as both ‘sexy’ and ‘hip’. We couldn’t agree more.

Expert travel advice: If you’ve already made dinner arrangements, check out Nobu’s indulgent brunch selection for tantalising small plates, speciality dishes and desserts.

3. The Hide, Jumeirah Al Qasr

A permanent name on many ‘best of’ Dubai restaurants lists, The Hide at the Jumeirah Al Qasr resort is one of, if not the best steakhouse in Dubai.

The Hide is a dream for all meat-lovers, but there are also exceptional plant-based, vegetarian and seafood options to choose from. If you’re looking for a more casual and dining spot, away from the city’s formal restaurants, this is it.

When it comes to great places to eat out in Dubai, The Hide is up there with the best.

Expert travel advice: The Hide is situated amongst the breathtaking Madinat Jumeirah resort’s beautiful waterways and vast Madinat Souk. The perfect spot for an after-dinner stroll!

4. Ristorante L'Olivo at Al Mahara, Burj Al Arab

Based in the spectacular Burj Al Arab, Al Mahara (Oyster Shell) is a mecca for seafood lovers everywhere and truly is one of the best fine dining restaurants in the city. Ristorante L'Olivo, by Executive Culinary Chef Andrea Migliaccio, was included in the 2023 Michelin Guide for Dubai restaurants - so make sure to add it to your wishlist!

The eatery itself is built around an enormous, floor-to-ceiling tropical aquarium for a truly unique dining experience that you really could only find in Dubai.

The skilled chefs here create an exquisite selection of seafood and fish dishes with extra special touches, like edible goldleaf ravioli. Meanwhile, sample some of the very best cocktails in Dubai from the resident mixologists.

On top of this, Al Mahara has won numerous accolades for quality including TripAdvisor’s Certificate of Excellence and a further Award of Excellence from Wine Spectator.

Expert travel advice: The dining room at Al Mahara has a smart elegant dress code for dinner service, and smart casual for lunch. Remember to pack a shirt, suit or dress.

5. Rhodes W1, Grosvenor House

You’ll find every cuisine under the sun when dining out in Dubai, but sometimes all you really want is a taste of home. For those of you who agree, we recommend Rhodes W1, another Dubai restaurant lauded in the Michelin Guide.

The restaurant puts a bit of a Dubai twist on European cuisine - you’ll find an extraordinary selection of homemade favourites here, including an elevated take on classic fish and chips and even pie and mash.

Rhodes W1 is set in the magnificent Grosvenor House hotel, overlooking the stunning Dubai Marina – the perfect setting for an after dinner stroll.

Expert travel advice: Like most of Dubai’s top restaurants, pre-booking is essential to avoid disappointment. Rhodes W1 can get very busy so check availability well in advance.

6. Orfali Bros Bistro

For something truly showstopping for your Instagram feed, head to the Orfali Bros Bistro, a true toast of the town. This place was named among the 50 Best Restaurants in the world and the best restaurant in the Middle East in 2023.

Run by three Syrian brothers, the bistro offers a thoughtful menu with a mix of Asian cuisine, Emirati cuisine, Middle Eastern dishes and influences from Greece and beyond. This top restaurant stands out even in the competitive Dubai dining scene thanks to dishes like a Middle Eastern gyoza and a range of incredible pastries and desserts.

There's a bit of an open kitchen atmosphere here, with a towering two-storey cooking space overlooking the main dining room. Dining is a real experience too, as Head Chef Mohammad regularly walks between tables explaining the intricate story behind each dish.

Expert travel advice: Expert travel advice: Main and savoury dishes are a treat here, but make sure to treat yourself to some pastries while you're here - the younger Orfali brothers Wassim and Omar are skilled pâtissiers.
