Mexico vs Cuba - which has the best beaches?

Both Mexico and Cuba boast some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Tulum is a refreshingly quiet resort on Mexico’s Yacután peninsula, with a stunning white sand beach surrounded by 13th century Mayan ruins. Head 80 miles north and you’ll reach the ever-popular city of Cancun, a bustling resort that’s popular with spring-breakers.

A visit to Playa Delfines is a must if you’re staying in Cancun. This is a large soft beach with gorgeous turquoise waters. Here you can partake in a variety of watersports, including snorkelling and parasailing.

Over in Cuba, Varadero beach is the longest beach on the island, stretching for over 25km! This pristine white beach is the perfect place to kick back and relax with a cocktail in hand during your Cuba holiday. If you’re staying in Havana, the most well-known beach is Playas del Este, which is a 9km haven of white sands and crystal clear waters.

Mexico vs Cuba - which is better for families?

When it comes to family holidays, Mexico is a wonderful choice for parents raising mini-explorers. Take a trip to the famous Chichén Itzá and marvel at one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, or take a boat ride from Cancun to Isla Mujeres and swim with dolphins. If your family love water parks, you’ll feel right at home at Ventura Park. Here you can plummet through the gut-wrenching Bubble Space Bowl, experience the wave pool or chill out on the 320 metre lazy river.

Havana, in Cuba, is a wonderful place to spend time as a family. Take a horse and cart ride through the city and learn all about its wonderful heritage, or take a classic car tour in one of Cuba’s famous 1950s vehicles. If you want to escape the city, head to Las Terrazas, where you can marvel at luscious gardens and take an adrenaline-fueled zipline tour.

Verdict

When it comes to Mexico and Cuba, it would be impossible to choose which one is best. It really does depend on which one appeals to you the most!
